My XDA is totally dead?! - General Topics

After an upgrade, now my XDA cannot 'wake up' any more. Whatever soft reset and hard reset I tried, nothing was shown on the screen. It could be charged, but could not be turned on. Even try to press the three buttons to enter the Bootloader, nothing happened and just dark screen.
Is it totally dead? Anybody can help? Thanks.

Help! MY MDA does not boot

Hi,
I have upgraded my MDA to NO EVIL ROM Windows mobile 6 version from this forum. Device was working great for couple of weeks. Now suddenly it stopped booting. When I do soft reset the
S.N.E ... Presents screen comes up.
Then HTC Wizard screen comes up
The Touch No Evil screen come up and then it stays at the same screen. It does not respond even to power button now.
The radio light (green light) blinks. The system does not respond to even hard reset.
I am tosed. Please help. Any response to recover from this situation is usefull.
Thanks in advance...
From the sounds of it, something you have installed or configured isn't allowing the phone to finish booting. You basically have 2 choices at this point... Hard Reset or Reflash the phone.
When you say hard reset doesn't work, are you sure you are doing a hard reset? Pull the battery out and let the phone rest for a minute or so. Press the power button a couple of times (yes with the battery out) to discharge any power in the device. Then put the battery back in, and press the top two buttons on either side of the phone (Comm and Record), and while holding those in press and release the power button. After a couple of seconds you should have a black screen with white text asking you about resetting the phone. Press the Send key (the green phone key that you use to answer the phone) and you will have completed the Hard Reset. If you get errors then you need to tell us what they are. If you never get the black screen with white writing then you aren't holding the buttons down correctly.
To reflash the phone, put it in bootloader (press and hold the recorder button while pushing in and releasing the reset button (or while turing the phone on)). Once you get the tri color screen, hook up the USB cord and it should say USB in the lower left. Now you can flash it (even though the phone won't connect to ActiveSync).
Good luck and hope that helps.
Able to reboot
Thanks for the advise. After several tries, was able to hard reset and started booting and working OK.
I have not done any soft reset after this event. What should I look for to correct, if any errors.?. do you recommend that I reflash the ROM?. The only software, I had installed was Microsoft Voice recorder. I have not installed the same after the reboot.
Thanks
ANother issue
Now after resetting, I see my phone getting into vibration mode all the time. Even if I set to ring mode, it will automatically go back to vibration mode after some time. Any idea on how to fix the same?.
Thanks

Hard reset

i'm no idiot (at least that's what she tells me... lol) but i hold TomTom and PIE button down while i press the reset button on the bottom of the phone to do a hard reset, correct?
if so, my phone must not want to do it because i've done this a million times today and it just boots up normally as if nothing was pressed.
what to do... what to do?
thanks!
After the reset don't release those buttons until, the reset screen appears...

i have been. it still ignores the fact that i have been pressing the button and boots right into windows.

Captivate will not hard reset.

I have tried hard resetting my phone, but I cant' get it to work. With the phone off, I hold the "volume down" key and press the power button. If i press the power and release quickly, nothing happens. If I hold it long enough for anything to happen, the phone just starts up normally. What am I doing wrong?
Also, If i reset the phone from the privacy menu, does it do the same thing as the above method?
no idea on the second question but try holding the volume up and down at the same time and then pressing the power button until it starts to boot. Continue holding down volume up and down and release the power button once it starts booting. Let us know if this did it for you.
I think you need to hold the volume control button (both Up & Down together) and the Power button until the Reboot screen appears.
Yea but none of the options will reset my phone...
My son was playing with the pattern lock and locked my phone, recovery using gmail username/pass don't work, so I need to hard reset it...
I've done the "delete all user data" and "delete cache data"
But it hasn't removed the lock... and I see my wallpaper is still the same...
Any other ideas... I am stuck with a $200 paper weight right now!!
Update: Fantastic!! Called Samsung, they said it's a bug and I need to send it in to be reflashed... hell no, back to the AT&T store I go... EXTREMELY dissapointed in AT&T / SAMSUNG.... It appears the standard Vibrant S can reset to factory settings!
Thanks,
Rich

HTC HD2 is frozen in booting screen (Magldr V1.13)

Hi! So... I installed Magldr V1.13 many months ago and it has been very awesome. Yesterday, while sitting in class, my phone was in my pocket. (very rare occasion as I usually have it in a holster)
Anyhoo, it vibrated twice like it would for an email or text. I pushed the red (hangup) button to see the screen, and the screen stayed black but the buttons lit up. I repeated, same result. I took the battery out, turned back on and the phone stops loading after the "GO GO GO!". It just sits there.
I have taken the battery out and restarted it literally 12 times. I tried with and without SD card and Sim Card. I even tried holding in the yellow reset button. I don't know what else to do.
Any help is very much appreciated!
hope you find out the problem, I uesd to be in your situation, so sad

Always it happens something like that out of nowhere. So I think the solution is only one. Factory Restart the phone and re-install everything from the begging. If you don't want to loose your stuff try to copy paste the stuff you got in your SD card.

I know right? This is the first time I have been without a phone this long since high school, lol. How can I factory reset it without being able to turn it on? I held down the volume down+home+power button and chose the wipe from that menu. It didn't do anything. I even held in the yellow button on the back, still nothing.
Ok. So I finally found a way to factory reset my phone even though I can't get it to really come on:
1. With your phone powered off, press and hold the VOLUME UP and VOLUME DOWN buttons.
2. While holding the volume buttons, press the END/POWER button briefly and then release it.
3. When you see a warning message on screen, release the VOLUME UP and VOLUME DOWN buttons.
4. Press the VOLUME UP button to perform the reset, or press any other button to cancel the reset.
Now, it's stuck on the "Stick Together" Tmobile logo

Black screen after turn on, solutions?

First off I am doing this on behalf of my friend, I don't own a moto G but he does and and so I knew this could be a good place to get help.
Also some crucial information is that the phone is completely stock, not even rooted, and he has had the phone just over a month, so it still has warranty but it would be easier to get it fixed at home then going to a repair centre.
Basically, his phone froze from typing a message, so he held the power button for numerous seconds before it force turned off. He then turned it on, and from what he has told me it seems it did the boot up animation and then gives a black screen, and he can't do anything from there but force turn off. He tried using the 'factory' and 'recovery' buttons in the recovery menu (he pressed power+volume down which I suppose is recovery menu) and they brought him back to a black screen.
Through my knowledge I don't know what could have caused this, or how to fix this, so I've come on the one place that would be able to give help
Sorry if the details are a bit vague but that's all I know, and my friend would appreciate some sort of help to fix.
Thanks in advance

You will enter fastboot mode with power+volume down. Once in fastboot mode you can navigate through the menu using volume down and you can choose an option while pressing volume up.
EDIT: Oh im read somehow that he pressed Volume up. I was wrong with that.
If the problem persists after the recovery/factory reset (if possible) i would recomend you to give that phone to the repair center.
