Have you ever tried using the search button?
Or hav e you tried to look at the TomTom support pages?
Disabling the beam settings should solve this problem.....
Stefan
TT3 and XDA
Try looking "start - programs - tom tom gps"
under the GPS tab at the bottom, you go to a new screen, which enables you to specify connection ports, such as infrared, BT on com6, com 9 etc etc and Bluetooth GPS. Untick the box, choose a new port, re-tick and try.
Hi...
Thanks for your help

I just installed tomtom version 5 on my MDA Vario but I can't seem to get the tomtom to recognise the bluetooth receiver.
Can someone tell me a simple solution please where I don't need to edit anything.
I need a DUMMIES guide!
I would really be greatful if someone could upload the prog. or software that would solve the problem + clear instructions.
Thank You
Hi
I am using XDA II , I think tomtom setting is same. after installing tomtom you need to pair the phone with reciever. Once paired goto settings, system, bluetooth settings.
Make sure you have 'ticks' place in 'Bluetooth Serial Port settings'
Inbound Com port : Com4 ( activate by placing tick )
Outbound Com port : Com5 ( activate by placing tick )
thats all the setting for bluetooth you need on the phone.
Start tomtom and goto 'Change Prefereance' and then Show GPS status.
in there you can select your reciever type and then in configuration menu select com5, it should pick some sattelites. on mine it takes a little while to pick the signal.
On the tomtom gps connection menu BT is listed as Com 6 (it is on mine) but that is incorrect, so you need to select Com5. I tried both com4 and com5 and it worked, so tried both com ports.
I hope you can understand what i am waffeling on about .

has anyone got tomtom mobile on their phone?
Can get it all working fine, but when I want to select a non tomtom gps receiver, it just goes back to the gps configuration screen, doesn't let me select the com port etc?
Thanks

Paul

fine with Tomtom mobile
I have been using my SDA(US) with TOMTOM 5.20 for a few month. There is no special configuration needed, I just have to add 2 ports, for incoming and outgoing. My GPS is the Globalsta BT-338.
awesome combination.

I've found that any combination of name is accepted by the program, BUT....
there is a BUT...
the name of the device has to end with "GPS", otherwise only names coded within the executable can cannoect with the device...
I've tried with my "HBTGPSOL" (the solar powered one) for one long weekend with no luck until I tried renaming my device to "HBTGPSOL GPS" and... voila'... it started working within seconds, not minutes...
S**T HAPPENS...
Hope this helps someone else out.
Ciao
I am running Dr. Martin Gonzos Windows Mobile 6.1 v1.1 on my Vox and have got myself Tom Tom Navigator 6.030 with GPS driver v1.20 installed.
The problem is that I am trying to connect my new Holox BT-541 GPS receiver to my Vox but I'm having difficulties.
I can connect the device with bluetooth OK, but after reading some posts I also have to specify a COM port. Here lies the problem. When I try to add one the options are greyed out.
Is there something else I have to enable/do first? Or have I bought a dodgy GPS?
Please let me know if you need any more info as a resolution to this dilemma would be grately appreciated.
Thanks in advance
