Is there any software or anything else for that matter can display the callers number even if they withhold it
I dont think so. If it isnt sent then you cant do much about it, there may be something that interrogates the exhange but I havent heard of it.
There is a piece of software however called Smart Filter, that lets you reject almost any variable of call, i.e. any with-held, or any not found in your phonebook, or any user in your phonebook you wish to set up etc.
Not the same as what you want, but it might help...
So where do you get this software from?

google for the rescue
Thanks for that.

My apologies for not including the link.
I just thought that typing "Smartfilter Pocket PC" into any search engine was easy enough that anyone could manage it.

Someone somewhere must have cracked this, it's to clever for me and would not know where to start, surely everybody want's know who are ones making these type of calls and love to fire back to them with knowledge that they don't know how you found them.
Come someone from must be able to work what to do.
HELP
Many GSM providers offer such a service (identifying anonymous callers), called also "anti-CLIR". Check with yours, but registration is in general rather costly.

this is a question for all you developers and coockers...
do you think the video call will ever exist in windows mobile 6?
i would really like to use this option but the wm5 is not an option for me.
i have arround 4000 contacts and wm5 is extremly slow to consult and call a contact. on the other hand, wm6 beta is very quick and i'm addicted to it!
i tried to go back to wm5 so i could use the video call but i quitted a few hours later...
so... is there a prognostic on this matter?
thanks
Unless the developers themselves are interested in using video call, it's not gonna happen.
Few people use the video call function... If they don't see the need, then they won't focus on fixing it.
But of course, read my sig.
...few people use mms...few people use power point.... few pwoplw use voip.... ok? is this a good reasons? baaahhhh!!! i'm very very hungry!!!!!

As a developer myself (PC).. I usually just create applications or fix things that I am paid to do. If Im not paid to do it, I just tend to to things that cater to my own needs.
My point is.. if a ROM developer does not need video call, why bother fixing it? Are they being paid to fix it?
Although monetary benefit is not always the best motivator, most people can also get motivated in doing things for self-gratification, if they are being praised, or hearing people say "thanks", "i love you!!!" or "you're my hero!" also works.
thank you both for replying.
i think the question is not to use an aplication much, but the power to use it!
i like having tools that i may or not need, even if i never use them. maybe one day i do need it.
of course this is not the case, i really need the video call!
like mms... i allways forget to configure it because i rarelly send mms messages, however if someone sends me an mms, i like to have the power to receive it.
well... maybe some day a developer puts some effort on this precious tool
i posted a poll in this thread to decide how many people are interested in video call.
i hope the results can influence the rom developers.
please vote fellows!
Hello,i vote for videocall.
Thank

i'm with you.... ok.
Those who don't need it, simply don't use it!
For those who don't need it, simply don't use it!
But some of us really need the videocall function and that's the main reason why some people use WM5... Even with an older ROM, we (yes I'm one of those who install back Helmi's WM5 AKU3.5 ROM) are able to explore all Universal’s functions.
There's anyone still working on it? In January videocall issue as faced like a resolving soon problem
i need videocall!
Ehi guys,
yesterday I found that a WM6 ROM is available in Italian from A1KStyle...
They claim that videocall is ready and working...
I don't need it so I haven't tested the ROM... but for who is interested in it...
Bye.

W W W Video Callllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllll
I thought there is a cab file to put in the video call??? I tried it on the last rom and it works but incoming caller ID was being pushed out of the screen hence i uninstalled it..
As i said in an old post: If you are here that means that you BOUGHT an HTC Universal.
Well.. BELIVE ME: Qualcomm don't present the MSM6250...
I PAID IT.. You all paid it!
Even who says that don't use videocall!!!
I wonder WHY you bought a device that makes videocall.. IF YOU DON'T USE IT?!!
Sorry, i can't understand: Maybe they have a lot of money! I don't know!
There are a lot of device much cheaper.. That's because they can't make a videocall!!!
I guess we can even do a paypal donation to the one who will make us able to make a videocall on wm6; for example 10€ each one of us and we can achieve enough money.
But in this case, of course, the application must work.
Anyway WWWWVideocall

Some of us bought it because it was a good pda with a vga screen, full qwerty keyboard, UMTS (for data) and was at a good price (I got mine for £250 off eBay). Also, point me to a device with the same specs that is cheaper and without video calling... Thats what I thought - there isn't one....
In Australia there is only one carrier that supports video calling and, at the time of purchase, I wasn't with them.
Don't get me wrong - I would love video calling. But if you want it so desperately ask what you can do to help, rather than moaning about it. I do believe that JWright produced a beta for his ROM - see how that went and see if you can improve it.
And, if you aren't a developer:
What are you doing on these forums?????
Register your interest (ie vote in the poll)
Ask, politely, once
Switch back to WM5 if your desperate
Remember: ALL OF THESE ROMS ARE BETAS. Most of them have a lot of issues fixed and I'm sure that the developers are working on Video Calling... just be patient and have faith

I would love to see someone with the new T-Mobile Garminfone pull out the apk and see if we can use it in our Incredibles. I would just love to see how it would work on a real powerhouse of a phone ;-)

So anything you rip off another phone is illegal, how come we do it with alot of stuff on here... then again what do i care /ripriprip
The problem with this is that it's the map data mostly. When I was on Windows Mobile, we had the same problem with Microsoft Voice Command. Even though it came with most WM phones, you weren't aloud to share the .cab (equivalent to .apk) file for it. In fact, cooking roms with it was kinda frowned upon. The problem was the licensing, because Microsoft actually charged for the app, for the few phones that came without it (the manufacturer had the option to use it, I'm guessing they decided to just pay for it to have it come loaded). Even when TomTom came out with a "trial" for one specific WM phone, the cracked program wasn't allowed on XDA, even though cracking it just made it possible to use it on other phones...... You still had to buy the maps from TomTom for the phone..... It's all just a CYOA policy, and it's what makes sure XDA won't be shut down!
So I guess the question is: if I am able to find the.apk, would it work on my inc. Has there been any success stories?
It would certainly be interesting to find out. I remember someone in the past had made a GPS Phone based off Windows Mobile. I can't remember who offhand, but I'd think it would be more profitable for them to release the software for a reasonable price than to offer it only on their phone, which who knows how much they're really making off it. I mean it comes down to profit, but I'd think that considering my DInc came with built in Nav for free, and is a much better phone, why pay a premium for a phone with GPS, when you can get a better *phone* and add GPS software for a minimal cost (or use the FREE one included!). Just my thoughts though.....
hello all,
most of you know me, i only reach out for help when i am stuck. i have a TP2 (sprint world, oli unlocked, etc) and i changed the esn and every other aspect of the phone to match a broken TP2 i have that is subscribed to sprint and it does now work, voice, txt, data, etc but i am stumpt on the IMEI???
i tried all of the half brained ideas i have found online, does anyone have a 1st person tested method to repair the IMEI on rhodium world?
thank you in advance
cheers,
disco
I dont think you can change the IMEI if that's what you are asking! I think it is illegal as well to change it...

Why and who cares, like they're going to arrest you for dumplicating the IMIE onyour phone.
I'd do it in a heartbeat if I could.
I have never heard of it being illegal before, but I have never, in all my time in the mobile device world, seen a tool that could duplicate the IMEI number. You may be able to JTAG it and change the number, but I've never seen it done before. If you aren't familiar with JTAG, I would suggest that you not go any further until you are. It's not for the light-hearted.
cajunflavoredbob greetings from NOLA!
I am very familiar with JTAG, I2c, ISP, etc and pulling and dumping/flashing BGA's etc. I was hoping there was a software method
not sure if i have any jtag info on HTC's but i will look.
thanks for the responses everyone

Yep. IMEI is hard coded into the device. I don't have the memory addresses for you to find it, but if you do this, please share the results.
I'm not exactly sure if this is the right place, but I'm going to give it a shot.
A friend of mine is from the UK, and has a BlackBerry. Now her Blackberry isn't available for Skype. I am trying to find a good VoIP/Skype alternative that is on both BlackBerry and Android.
I've tried TruPhone (Tru App), and it's complicating as hell and just isn't working.
Google Voice is available for both devices, but that's not what Google Voice is for.
Can't use Nimbuzz, because the last time she tried NimBuzz she had to bring her phone to the shop and get it repaired.
So if anyone can help figure this out, it would be much appreciated.

"No, the "Call" functionality is there simply for your convenience. Mobile carrier charges apply for voice calls made from WhatsApp."
That's what I'm trying to steer away from.
I don't want to end up paying international charges, which will be a fortune.

I'm just trying to find an application that will allow me from an Android, and her on a BlackBerry verbally communicate without having to pay international fee's. If there isn't an application that will do such a thing, then that's fine.

Root file system - https://ibb.co/0DN4PR1
One of many, many suspicious files - https://ibb.co/VNGwr1S
I have been through numerous phones and the problems persist. It always starts with multiple Google authentication SMS texts. The a DCB authentication text. Then the entire file system end up looking like alphabet soup. I can't code but I can read, and I fear my device is affecting others devices. If anybody has knowledge in coding could you please take a look, especially at the second link I posted? There are files and folders that I know don't belong. Thanks.
this post is really strange, before requesting others to open suspicious links, what exactly are you asking for? this is fishy…
It's just screenshots., it's an image sharing site. I'm just asking if somebody can take a look at the code and tell me wtf is going on with my phone, and my life for that matter. Literally every single thing I own is ruined. I cannot flash, I cannot reinstall OS's. My router us fuct. It started in 2019 and I've been through more devices than I can count. I can't even begin to tell the story but it all dtarted when a guy that lived in my apartment hacked my S9 and gaming PC and was using the devices to order drugs to the residence.
I'm really just trying to find somebody, anybody that will look at what I'm looking at and try to find any sort of possible solution. My life has been completly destroyed.
Sorry for the rant, but, anyways, they're just large screenshots that are too big to post.
I think you would get a better response by actually posting the screen shot instead of posting a link. Especially after what you said your roommate used you account for. Nobody wants to click on a link that they have no idea what may happen.
