I cant get email on my sx56 phone. I have the xda os on it. I manually configured the connections myself to get the internet because t-mobile wouldnt give it to me they wanted to send a file to my phone but that didnt work. Does anyone have the settings i think for the proxy area to setup email ?
Thanks ahead of time
John
It would help if we knew who your service provider and email carrier
were? You mentioned T-Mobile for one!

Hi,
I've just moved my XDA 2 away from an o2 contract to Pay As You Go with Tesco.
I can't get my GPRS to work and after contacting Tesco several time, they are now saying that you cannot use GPRS on an XDA 2 on a provider OTHER THAN o2, because of some pre-set settings that can't be changed. I can view pda.o2.co.uk when connected to GPRS, but that's it.
Is this true? Is there a workaround? Does anyone have GPRS working on Tesco or any non o2 provider (if they were originally on o2)?
Thanks in advance for any suggestions.
Andi
i can't speak directly for Tesco's pay as you go service, but I have had no problem accessing GPRS on my XDAII, which was bought under a 1 year contract in UK, after moving to Malaysia (on a local M'sian carrier).
what i do have trouble is, however, is setting the gprs up for mms services. Apparently on my cousin's xdaIIs bought here, mms services require connection to a separate gprs account, which can be specified on his mms settings but not on mine. and we can't seem to find anything different in the changeable settings! o well. i have no one to mms anyway...
somynex if you want help setting up your mms I can gladly assist. Its accually really easy. You have to set up your proxy on my work network. Just im me if you want some help.
Mike
No-one have any ideas? I think I'll likely move to o2 pay as you go.
Thanks
Hey guys,
I cannot send (probably also receive) a MMS message, my gprs settings should be fine because I'm able to download weather information, I did allready a soft and hard reset.
I get messages on my screen:
connecting to Vodafone MMS
and then cannot make connection
what am I doing wrong?
thanks in advance
Maybe you should mess around a bit with the Vodafone settings. With the normal Vodafone settings received from the network I can open internet pages, but I cannot receive e-mails. When I change the settings to NOT use a proxy, both work fine. Maybe this works for you too.
Mmm.... I had to create special connection with special settings to be able to send MMS. But my provider (which is Vodafone partner) provided all info to me...

Fortunately I am on Vodafone NL, but I have a business subscription.
My AP: office.vodafone.nl, but for non-business users I think it's supposed to be live.vodafone.com.
Username: vodafone
Pass: vodafone
I'm not using a proxy.
I finaly managed to get it working
I changed so much now I don't know what did the trick... but I don't care about that now.
thanks for the replys
Okay you guys I just bought a Sprint HTC Touch Pro 2 a few days ago and I have it active on my boost mobile account.
1st question: should i put my boost SIM card inside the tp2?
Main question: I have been having data (internet, youtube, email) connection. What can i do to fix this problem? It has been saying #777 cant connect dismiss and error.
me too
I just bought am going to take on the feat off getting it to work in boost, please email any info to [email protected]
Am I wrong or does the htc pro touch 2 not have a sim?
You guys need to contact your carrier and get the Internet settings from them. Your phone isn't made of magic. lol
I have already ported my boost cdma number to the htc pro touch 2 and internet and youtube work, but my gmail on there receives messages but then asks for id and password when I try to respond to messages.
what OS you running? did you manually insert the msid and mdn?

i had the same problem what i did is a hard reset and the internet should work.
1st question is did you sign up for the boost CDMA plan? That's the main reason for using the Sprint TP2. You need to ask for the CDMA otherwise, they will set you up with the iden plan. Check that first. then post a fallow up question. good luck
take a look here you might find your answer

I have the same issue here,with internet and mms. Did anyone here know the boost mobile internet setting? If so,please do share. Thanks.
i think a hard reset is all thats needed. its all mine has ever needed. i have been through 10 roms at least and once it boots the net just works. as for Gmail make sure your email settings are correct. i cant remember but if there is a "save password" option on there you need to use it.
Here's a boost mobile provisioning I made for sprint TP2
I'm told it works: Here
Me too!
I Have this same problem does anyone know data connections for boost? ie #777
Hello, Im hoping someone could help me.
I live in a rual area in Arizona. We only have one carrier and its Cellular One. From my understanding its totaly
different than the Cellular One on the East Coast.
All the phones they sell are unbranded. Wether its a cheal flip Nokia or the GS3, their unbranded and most are the
International versions.
I like to use unlocked phone's from either tmobile or att. However I always have a problem with data.
Cell One offers 2 different Internet packages, here are the apn's for their data.
Basic Internet-
apn= wap.c1csky.net
proxy= 209.4.229.94
port= 9401
Smart Phone Internet-
apn= isp.cellularoneaz.net
no proxy or port.
MMS-
apn= wap.c1csky.net
mmsc= mmsc.c1neaz.csky.us:6672
proxy= 209.4.229.94
port= 9401
Here is where my problem is. Lets say I enter the basic Internet setting and the MMS settings in the phone. My internet
will work and so will pic msg's. However I cant download anything or i cant login to Facebook. Every site I try works except
Facebook.
Now if I change the apn's to Smart Phone Internet then all data works downloads, facebook etc. But picture msg will not work.
It only happens with unlocked att or tmobile phones. If I use one of their phones its not a problem.
Sorry the post is long... hopefully someone can help me figure it out.
?????
AW: [Q] APN and Data Help
Asked the Hotline to send you a message with the right apn settings? They send a text message that sets all the required inputs. Or add one apn with the mobile Internet details and another one with the mms settings.

Hey guys, I flashed a Verizon ROM to my Chat Mobility HTC One m8, because Chat Mobility uses Verizon for their LTE network, but in the process it deleted my MMS server settings, or rather reset them to Verizon's servers. Everything else seems to work fine though, but does anyone have the server address for Chat Mobility? I've looked all over the web, even tried customer service, but they don't have any idea. As far as I can tell, they get their MMSC through Interop, according a press release from a year ago.

If you can give us a call back we would like to help you get your MMS settings re-established. Dial 611 on your phone and ask for Connie or Macey.

While I appreciate the attempt, I was hoping to restore my MMS settings WITHOUT re-flashing my device.
Bump. Am I really the only one in the country who has a smartphone on Chat Mobility?
I've narrowed down their MMSC server: mms.iot1.com/chatmobility/mms.php
Now I just need the proxy and port and all should be well. Thanks in advance guys!
