Hey guys, I flashed a Verizon ROM to my Chat Mobility HTC One m8, because Chat Mobility uses Verizon for their LTE network, but in the process it deleted my MMS server settings, or rather reset them to Verizon's servers. Everything else seems to work fine though, but does anyone have the server address for Chat Mobility? I've looked all over the web, even tried customer service, but they don't have any idea. As far as I can tell, they get their MMSC through Interop, according a press release from a year ago.

If you can give us a call back we would like to help you get your MMS settings re-established. Dial 611 on your phone and ask for Connie or Macey.

While I appreciate the attempt, I was hoping to restore my MMS settings WITHOUT re-flashing my device.
Bump. Am I really the only one in the country who has a smartphone on Chat Mobility?
I've narrowed down their MMSC server: mms.iot1.com/chatmobility/mms.php
Now I just need the proxy and port and all should be well. Thanks in advance guys!

I am using an unlocked Verizon tp2 stock rom on Att's network. I have got everything to work on ATT's network except for MMS. I can send mms messages to others but I cannot receive them. I used to not be able to download mms messages but I changed the mms settings from verizons to att's and it will actually download the message now. When I receive them though it just says "message not found". If anyone could help it would be greatly appreciated.

Are you on a stock rom or custom rom? Whenever I flash my ROM I never get MMS to work until I tell the phone what to use for MMS. This requires registry editing which I can explain how to do if this is the case.
This is a stock rom. I had to registry edit to allow me to change the mms settings because before they were locked to verizon and there was no way to change them
daddylonglegs, Maybe you can tell me the registry edits you did and i can try that?
only if you no how to flash a custom rom

I tried to go to the site and it wouldnt download. What specific rom are you using? The only one I know of is ssk which I used but found to be slightly buggy. I too had an unlocked tp2 that is being used on att. I cannot get mms to work but like the stability of the 6.5 rom and would rather have a pretty basic one since I would not be up to tweaking it frequently
He is using Energy "Leo" 21885. I tried it and it didn't help mms. The rom was nice but had some bugs that annoyed me. I changed to JUICY ROM and it is really nice and stable. If your looking for stock then energy isn't really but Juicy is. I still haven't got mms to work but if you do let me know.

I am having the same problem with my imagio. I have all of my mms settings. unblocked the server edit with arcsoft. can now send mms successfully but cannot receive. Any ideas anyone?
mms with att on verizon
go to ppcgeeks they have all the cdma stuff your looking for energy rom, mms fix, driver update, im dont have one problem. i love my verizon phone w/Tmobile service
AT&T is not CDMA. I have an Imagio and installed the AT&T WAP & MMS cab. Same problem: send is o.k. receive is "Message not found" I am using My Clean Imagio ROM (custom version with carrier provisioning [not turned on])
same problem here. changed all server settings but shouldnt the "connect via" be media net? thats not and option in the drop down for the cdma phones. is there a way to add this in? im thinking this would allow it to work? or has anybody found a solution for this yet? ive searching for days and havnt found any yet although iv seen people say theyve got it working but dont say how...

I would like to know what registry editing are you doing. I have a vzw tp2 and cant get the mms to work. Any light shined on this would be great. Is there an arcsoft mms cab you installed over, a proxy enable/disable cab, manually add in medianet and configure it, manually add att mms settings?
please post your setttings and help us out.
thanks
MMS works perfectly on the stock rom. Do you have a custom rom?
im using energys manilla 2.5 leo rom. still havnt gotten this to work. has anyone got this going yet. ive been all over ppc geeks trying to figure this out. ive even got other members pm-ing me with the same problem. i know there has got to be a way for this to work.
Why is their no answer? How do you get mms and data to work when you have a verizon touch pro 2 and you are on att or t-mobile in the USA? And I mean with any stock rom?
I received my Imagio sim unlocked. I put in my AT&T sim card. I had to edit the GSM servers, and phone/data band choices to match AT&T. I have changed the registry for ServerEdit under ArcSoft. I have used the network wizard to set up AT&T. Just like everyone else, I can send MMS but cannot receive MMS. All other e-mail, SMS works fine. Is this a UAProf problem or is it an IMEI problem with the proxy server? I really don't know. I want to say this. T-Mobile folks are not having the problem as much. The problem is with Verizon unlocked (global) phones using AT&T sim cards. Does anyone have an idea if AT&T servers or software is blocking the MMS due to the phone not being recognized?
HEY EVERYBODY!!! i have stumbled across a temporary solution to this several months ago and had posted the link to the thread i started in several places but i guess i forgot this one!!! haha anyway, its over on ppcgeeks but my name is different over there. its luzboss. so if it helps you out please hit thanks or show you appreciate it!!! Hello!
I have seen the threads on blurry MMS messages in the US.....which has been more or less fixed.....anyone in the UK have any idea how we get this fixed over here?!
I have contacted O2 and they have said the phone is not officially supported by them and therefore they cannot assist (although I bought the phone on a 2 year contract with them!!!). They have advised I take the phone back to Carphone warehouse and get another model as they cannot give me a date when the Nexus S will be supported.
Anyone have a work around for this in the UK? Surely I'm not the only one in the UK with this issue?
Regards
G
UPDATE
~~~~~
Have just spoken with O2 technical data services and they have confirmed there is nothing at all they can do and the phone apparently should be used on the network and they have no plans in the near future to support the phone and they advised I get a refund.
If anyone in the UK has found a work around for this on one of the other networks please let me know as I love the phone agh!! Its available on all the UK networks from Carphone Warehouse/Bestbuy....need to know if they have a fix!
Just tried sending an MMS to myself (may not be a valid test ) and pic looks fine.
On O2 UK (Simplicity package) using Handcent SMS. Rooted running 2.3.1 at the moment.
I've played around with the "stock" APN's which may or may not be relevant - happy to post settings if needed.
Yeah if you could post setting so I can compare that would be great!
I have tried sending a pic from the camera to myself and thats blurry also! As well as ones other people have sent me.
Dont know if its the phone settings then or something in your rooted ROM may have rectified it? Hmm...
I'm not in the UK, but 2.3.1 corrected the blurry mms for me.
You'll need to reboot for the APN to take affect.
I only have two APN's listed currently (the other is for 3g/mobile web - it's listed on the same post as the MMS APN in the link above)
sorry m8, what blurry?
I have tried all the settings you have listed and still exactly the same....cant explain it! It sends fine....but any incoming MMS messages are blurred beyond belief!!! How annoying! grr
which network are you on?
i believe there is some switch that can be turn on/off on the network.
when i first switch from iphone to N1, i have similar problem.
sending a MMS to iphone is not a issue (other than needing to manually resize the picture), but upon receiving MMS, it comes in a very small picture.
at that time, i heard other users on other network does not have this issue.
if you have friends on other network, maybe you will want to borrow their sim to give it a try.
When you took these APN details and put them in...did you get a green circle by them? When I entered all the details in manually.....I havent got a green circle and after reboot the net/mms wouldnt work at all! Had to "restore default" to get them back (still blurry!! haha)
You get the green circle for the default APN (afaik this should be set to the 3G/Data APN you have setup)
I don't have a green circle (MMS APN set as default) next to the MMS APN either.
You should also ensure you have your 3G/data APN set as default (use the settings on that post if needed) and just delete the other APN's from the list.
Outgoing MMS is fine, resizes ok....and an be viewed on the other handsets with no issues.....its only incoming MMS that goes blurry beyond recognition
Firstly thanks to Highland3r this post with the MMS APN settings got sending and receiving working on my Nexus S! Secondly also being on O2 UK I concur the MMS messages all come through with low res small scaled pictures. I had the same issue on my previous HTC hero too.
Its definitely down to O2 not recognising the capabilities/supporting the phone type so it defults to the lowest res/size their MMS server supports.
OP you got a complete BS answer off O2 - They should simply add the nexus S into their list of supported phones and ensure their MMS server knows about them!
Sorry to bring up such an old thread but did anyone manage to solve the problem of the blurry mms's? I'm on giffgaff which uses the o2 network and have the same problem. Funnily enough it seemed fine when I first used it and friends pictures that they sent me were coming through at about 200k. I recently had to do a reinstall of the firmware and im having troubles now. I can send myself a picture via the stock app or gosms and can see it has resized it to 150k+ for outgoing but when I receive it back it has resized to anything below 20k making it un viewable.
I started using the Handcent SMS app, instead of the stock one, and it seemed to fix the problem for me
Sent from my Nexus S using XDA App
Whenever I receive a text with pictures, it displays a downloading bar. When i click on it, it turns into a "downloading" and nothing happens. I've talked with customer support and they've suggested to add the apn on their site even though the phone already came with it by default. I don't have a data plan yet, so I'm not sure if this might be the problem. Any ideas?
Bump, anyone have this trouble also?
Tried calling for custom support, used the right settings for APN. Still cannot send pictures.
Data plan
Well, MMS does use the data and if you dont have a data plan and you are on prepaid service, you might not be able to use data at all. I'm pretty sure that in Mobilicity's case, the data used by MMS is just counted out of your data plan, its not a sepperate MMS messaging charge or anything like that. Also, make sure you have the correct APN settings, they have it on their website.
I do have the correct APN settings, MOWAP and MOMMS as detailed here.
Mobilicity has MMS for all their plans, regardless of data plan. That was exactly my first assumption that since I did not have a data plan, that pictures were not sending or receiving through.
Anyone have a nexus s with mobilicity experiencing the same problem? I've been calling custom support 6 times now, being asked to visit a local dealer, to a warranty support dealer, to back to the customer support help, and then to the samsung customer support. I've been going in circles, tried using a "demo" sim card in one of the mobilicity dealer place, no fix.
I don't have data plan. i can receive and sent mms
my settings
Name- T-Mobile US
apn- wap.voicestream.com
proxy 216.155.165.050
port 8080
mmsc- htpp://mms.msg.eng.t-mobile.com/mms/wapenc
mms proxy 216.155.165.050
mms port 8080
mcc 310
mnc 260
in order to receive or sent mms you have to check "data enabled "
Well, I got my problem fixed! Apparently you DO need a data plan to receive pictures over mms. The plan states that phones can receive them without the data plan, but smartphones handles pictures differently than regular phones.
I tested out at one of the local stores, and it works. Not sure if like you said, I just need to have "data" on, or actually have the data plan. I'll try the first when my month runs out. Thanks!
Sorry for the bump but i thought it would be better than creating a new thread for the same problem. anyhow, I've recently picked up a nexus s from mobi (with the $25 data plan) and im having problems with the MMS. I usually get a message with the size details, and a "download" button, same problem as you had, it changes to "downloading", then nothing happens.
If i scroll up in the conversation so that the "downloading" button disappears, then scroll down, it's just back to "download." Sometimes (maybe 10% of the time), the message will come up as it should, with no "download" button, the picture just shows up.
ive double and triple checked that the APN settings are 100% correct, so that can't be the problem. I manually updated to the official release of ICS 4.0.3 (from this thread) last night, but it didnt work before either (came stock with 2.3.4) Sorry for the life story, but thanks for any help.
Hello, Im hoping someone could help me.
I live in a rual area in Arizona. We only have one carrier and its Cellular One. From my understanding its totaly
different than the Cellular One on the East Coast.
All the phones they sell are unbranded. Wether its a cheal flip Nokia or the GS3, their unbranded and most are the
International versions.
I like to use unlocked phone's from either tmobile or att. However I always have a problem with data.
Cell One offers 2 different Internet packages, here are the apn's for their data.
Basic Internet-
apn= wap.c1csky.net
proxy= 209.4.229.94
port= 9401
Smart Phone Internet-
apn= isp.cellularoneaz.net
no proxy or port.
MMS-
apn= wap.c1csky.net
mmsc= mmsc.c1neaz.csky.us:6672
proxy= 209.4.229.94
port= 9401
Here is where my problem is. Lets say I enter the basic Internet setting and the MMS settings in the phone. My internet
will work and so will pic msg's. However I cant download anything or i cant login to Facebook. Every site I try works except
Facebook.
Now if I change the apn's to Smart Phone Internet then all data works downloads, facebook etc. But picture msg will not work.
It only happens with unlocked att or tmobile phones. If I use one of their phones its not a problem.
Sorry the post is long... hopefully someone can help me figure it out.
Hey All,
I bought a Bell (Canada) HTC 8X C625a for use on AT&T and put my sim in, ran connection setup and all was working well. That said, now I've just noticed that when someone sends a text with media, I get a text saying "Get media content now (xKB)". When I touch the link, I get nothing but the same message over and over. I'm assuming AT&T is using a different APN than connection setup installed.
Anyone have any ideas? Thanks.
That was not as easy as I thought... So first I got on chat with AT&T and they started out OK but ended saying they don't support unlocked phones of any kind. Then I went all over the net and found so much conflicting and useless info. Finally, I went to HTC and they've been pretty damn good over the past 4 days or so. I just can't believe that no one has had this problem before. Anyway, here are the instructions if you ever find yourself in this situation;
Start off by going to Settings>Mobile Network(or equivalent by carrier). Tap on add Internet APN. Fill out the APN with "pta" then click the save icon.
Next, click on Add MMS APN. This time, fill out the following information; Anything not below, leave blank.
Access Point Name: pta
WAP Gateway (URL): proxy.mobile.att.net
WAP Gateway port: 80
MMSC address: http://mmsc.mobile.att.net
Once again, click on the save icon and you're done.
Hope this can help someone else in the same position. :good:
Good luck.
