Hello,
I have an LG Velvet 5G LM-G900EM and I'd like to swap my OS version from European version to Italian version, but I haven't found any documentation about this operation nor the original firmware image to restore the phone in case something goes wrong during the process.
I'm doing this because I got the phone with android 11 and now in Italy every operator has released android 13, but my phone says (since i bought it) that there is no update available.
So I got suspicious and I decided to dig a bit and try to find out why.
What i immediately noted is that the SW version of my phone indicates V20d-EUR-XX, and the final XX is litterally what it is shown in the phone and to me it seemed a bit wired.
Out of curiosity I searched the original firmware image with mu SW version online, but I couldn't find it anywhere.
So I tried to contact LG support, and they said that my phone is an european version and it does not get updates like the local versions, but they said also that they don't know when the updates will be released for my phone.
In the end I searched a bit more on the internet and wrote in some forums, but no one seems to have an issue like mine.
I hope someone can give me some informations about this and maybe confirm or not if my firmware is indeed a bit wired.
Thanks in advance.

I have a stock O2 UK O3D. LG website says update available, phone says I have the latest version (v10k) which is 2.2 so I run LG updater on the laptop and click its update history tool which says "s/w v21a" as if it thinks I have gb.
I cannot find who provides my updates, it's definitely not O2, maybe if I rooted it I could find who supplies them via a config file or else I will be stuck with Froyo forever

If you are operator locked and in the UK you will get the update december 5th.
It is due 5th of December in UK. However, you can flash the official ROM, see development forum.
According to the operator (O2) my phone is not supported by them for updates, and the phone seller has no idea who sends them. Will wait for december and see.
Thanks
Dave
I am with O2 but didn't get my O3D from them. Up until I flashed it last night it was still on 10D!
So nobody from O2 updated my handset.
I have to wait as if flash phone and mess it up cant replace it
Dave
You can try removing your sim card and selecting another country in the LG updater if your phone is not simlocked by O2.
Flashing the official rom isn't that hard either. I can't get the update either so I just followed the tutorial for kdz flashing and had GB on the phone in about 15 minutes without losing apps and messages/contacts etc.
If you're not sure about flashing then it's probably best to just wait. The update will be provided by LG themselves eventually through the update utility.
Think I will wait, have flashed phones before (put gb on my gt540) but knowing what cwn go wrong I daren't risk a contract phone as got two years til can replace it.

Same problem
I have an open phone in sweden. When uptating my phone i got v10k and i cant get v21a. Every check i updater and outside shows no possible update, but v10k. If i check update history in the updater it says v21a.
It is now a matter for the support and in the hands of the mobile phone expert. They have to solve the problem under the sales contract.
I got mine from a company that sells lots of different phones with various providers contracts so although my sim contract is with O2 in the UK the updates are not and the seller doesn't push ota updates so I have no idea how to find out where they come from.
Although I have rooted the phone now so if anyone knows a system file that stores details of where the update check connects to and replies with it I can check that

Hello XDA, it's been a long time since my last time in these forums.
It's been like a couple of hours I got my new Z3 D6603 and I have to say, the pre-installed rom has confused the heck out of me, and here's why:
I live in Greece, and here, there are 2 options for buying a phone.
1) You get one that is meant to have unlocked, Greek firmware pre-installed (Tagged as GR)
2) You get one that is destined to Balkan countries. (Tagged as EU) These are from 50 to even $300 cheaper but they come with an opened box,
and sometimes their warranty is not recognized by the official greek customer support , which I don't trust at all.
I wanted to pay a few bucks more and get the GR one from a shop with very clean reputation and I found one.
While I was unboxing it, I found out that everything was in German. I said ok, maybe the official Sony representative is in Germany (spoiler alert, nope).
I booted up the phone, and I am welcomed by a T-Telekom (I guess it's the same as T-Mobile) splash logo. The device is full of T-Telekom bloatware too.
I called the customer service of the retailer and they said, in their shop GR means it supports Greek language (like I'm a retard and I don't know Android supports Greek),
and if I want to install the official Greek firmware I will need to go to the retailer's local service. I called the local service and they said they can't do it (LOL).
I have rooted and tweaked a few phones in the past and I know it is possible, though, so I tried to find Sony's official firmware files, and here's where I got confused.
After some confusing times I finally found a file named D6603_23.0.A.2.93_Generic_20GLOBAL.ftf and I can't find a Greek one.
(Current build number after a couple of updates is 23.4.A.1.264, didn't check what it was out of the box)
Here are my questions:
What happens if I manage to install that .ftf file?
- Will it *void* my warranty (provided that Greek support is crap)?
- Will it get rid of the T-Telekom splash and be clean?
- Is that file official or there are any 3rd-party tweaks included?
Thank you for your time. Any additional information would be good to have.
Flashing a ftf doesn't affect your warranty because you'll still have your TA parition.
Flashing the global ftf will remove the carrier crap but you'll still have other bloat.
If something goes wrong you can just plug it back into Sony PC companion and it can restore back to the most recent update available for your phone.
Update: Flashed what I downloaded. Got rid of the T-Mobile crap but I can't update the phone. Got stuck in android 4 while previously I could update to 5.1.
I also used the Xperia Companion software to restore it but it didn't restore to the german version...
I've seen many threads about this issue originating because the apparent H900 model for some people turned out to be a different model somehow converted to look like this, and everyone had the exact same issues as me, namely
1. LG VPN has stopped working error
2. Fingerprint/security tab causes settings to crash
3. Attempting to uninstall apps causes instant soft reboot
Some folks mentioned fixing their phones by finding the actual model of their phone and flashing the correct firmware. But AFAIK, no flashing software allows flashing of a different model. And none of them was clear about the actual steps they did to fix it.
Since I'm on Marshmallow, I cannot root, and I cannot rollback to the firmware I had in my phone.
Can anyone please share how they fixed their phone or someone expert in the matter?
Warranty/Motherboard replacement are out of question for me.
Any help is appreciated.
Same here please somebody help.
Same, did you find a solution? :/

Finally Found 1000% fix for all this type of issues. Security Menu to App Uninstall all-everything OK. Just need to flash an special modified firmware based on VS990 Hardware. The current Firmware version is Android 6.0.
NB: This is not for free and not for individual one. $150 will cost this type of firmware. So, this solution is for Service Personnel or Professional's only. Contact me for details on Skype or Gmail (rassel2k). Goodluck.
Too bad the price of the phone itself, 2nd hand (H900,H901,VS990,F600), is around $100 here.
Hi guys. This is my very first post here. I searched all over the internet for my problem but nothing. But it seemed that similar questions redirected me to this forum and that's why I decided to join.
So, all started this morning, when the colors of my Galaxy S7 Edge became faded, it was more noticeable on the black color. I tried to find a solution online and they suggested doing something under Developer Tools. The next problem and my big big mistake, was that I unchecked and rechecked something, that after restarting my phone, wouldn't let me enter, showing a text "Custom binary blocked by FRP Lock". I searched for a solution and I saw that the only way was to install a new firmware.
I always thought my phone was SM-G935FD, because that is what it read on the "About device", but at the download screen it showed SM-G935W8. So I downloaded a firmware for the SM-G935W8. This is what it says also on the back of my phone, i noticed it just some minutes ago. So I went and I searched for W8 firmwares. I got the 6.0.1 from Canada and Bell carrier if I am not mistaken. I did the instalĺ. It started well, but after some updates it went from 6, to android 7 and it blocked my actual carrier. I can't make any phone calls.
Now I don't know what to do. I live in Albania and I purchased the phone here, it was a used one. I think at some point the phone was rooted because I had some very strange apps that has to do with rooting apparently (I never rooted a phone and I don't know much).
I want to know if there is a way to have an unlocked firmware. I don't even know what carrier was the phone on the first place.

Try flashing the SM G935FD, it probably had the G935FD firmware flashed on it so that it would work in your region, flashing G935FD again might make it work again.

Okay but, which version of FD? Because I search it and I see versions for countries like Vietnam, Thailand, Nigeria etc etc, and I am not sure if it will be a locked version again.

If it was rooted before, it was probably rooted so that some things could be modified to make it work in your country.
You said you flashed an android 6 firmware then you did an OTA update to android 7. That might be a problem because it might not be able to root again in order to make the modifications that were originally done to make it work in your country.
Here is a link to all the Russian firmware for SM G935FD, try the 6.0 firmware, try the various 6.0 firmwares and see if any of them work. After flashing the 6.0 firmware, if you get a notification saying there is an update available, DO NOT ACCEPT IT, keep the 6.0 android version. You will probably still be blocked by FRP, according to XDA rules, we can't help you bypass FRP, you'll have to figure that out yourself.
https://www.sammobile.com/firmwares/galaxy-s7-edge/SM-G935FD/SER/
Once you get FRP straightened out, do some searches for:
"How to root SM G935FD"
Then you can work on getting it configured to work in your region on your carrier. Sometimes this involves flashing a separate modem(radio) file that has been extracted from a different firmware in order to make your radio work with your specific carrier. You might be in for more than you bargained for. I don't know which specific modifications you'll need or what files you'll need to make it work in your region, im just trying to give you an idea of what you need to look into.
You can try some of the Russian android forums, someone there might know how to make the device work in Albania. You might want to ask around in those forums first before you try anything, that way you won't waste time trying things that might not work. It will save you time if they know where you need to start and what you need.

I bought an used lg g4 H815 with someone. After sometimes I realised that it stucks and does bootloops. Then I decide to flash it according to websites which host firmwares for downloads. But, after that, It says "current version is not available for user. Cant find matched cust for NT-code mcc, mcc, subset". Now the network doesnt work on it. I'm a newbie and in spite of my reasearch I cant do anything to solve it. I flashed an european rom, android 5.1 according to my model. The first time I flashed it, in download mode I saw there were only words written in Korean.
Please I need your help. Dont ignore!
