So I decided to make a kernel a few week back and it has been going really well. But lately I have had the issue that the default value of scaling_max_freq is a value above stock when the device has booted. This is not great since it can lead to some devices miscalculating and crashing I immediately after booting, but I can't find a way to do it, preferably without modifying the system partition. Any ideas?

Considering the fact that I could copy all files from my phone to my computer, zip it with the correct parameters, cook with the Android Kitchen, and flash, will this work?
There are some phone manufacturers who don't, and will never release updates (minor manufacturers you have never heard of before, believe me).
Looking for the correct custom recovery won't be a problem, since some boards between some devices are similar, or even the same.
Thanks in advance for replies

I am new to this, but i have been working on unix based OS for years
I was wondering the other day i updated too this new update from oxygen, and i noticed my settings for data over the sim card keeps reseting too what i had before update. I force the phone too use only 2G networking, I now have too reset it each and everytime I reboot, the phone. It also seems like there is a few other apps that dont keep their settings.
Its most certain a file permission setting that is wrong, but since i have not been using this before. I was hopeing too get a few pointers of what files that might have broken permission?
Anyone that knows what i am looking for?
Please use the Q&A Forum for questions Thanks

Sorry for posting this in the general section, but I was told I can't post in the development section until I have 10 posts. I hope someone here can help me! I just finished downgrading my OS from the .29 build to .17 and everything went okay except for one big problem I am having. When I try to launch file manager I get "Unfortunately, File Manager has stopped". Everything else on my device works. Has anyone had any experience with this?
usually that occurs when you didn't clear cache etc...
For future reference, this type of thread shouldn't be posted in the development section anyway. Development is for people releasing ROMs, recoveries, kernels, and other related items for download.
My Nexus has problems connecting over bluetooth to my Car (BMW). I've found a lot of references to similair problems, and also a hint which suggests a change that could solve the problem. The hint can be found on the cyanogem forum in posting 77834, "bluetooth-connection-drops-kar-kit-bmw" (I cannot post links here).
I am running stock KitKat, and for the moment want to keep it that way. So, I decided to try the same patch on KitKat. I've managed to setup a development image in a VM, but keep running into problems compiling - my machine lacks resources (diskspace) to complete a complete build. I do not need a complete build; I need just 1 file, bluetooth.default.so, compiled. My development skills are VERY rusty, and I cannot find out how to build only this file.
I've applied the patch to external/bluetooth/bluedroid/bta/ag/bta_ag_sdp.c, run a make on the Makefile here etc - but, still no luck. The most frustrating bit is that I'm sure this is trivial, but it has been such a long time since I did any development work that I cannot seem to find a way to compile.
Can someone help me out here with hints on how to build the .so? I need bluetoot.default.so, build from the files in the external/.../ag directory, to be situated in system/lib/hw on the android system.

So long story short Deliveroo Sunmi V2 device i want to make a android 7 system image for its chipset (mt6739) and archtitiure (armeabi-v7) and i complied it from source, added in the /vendor files from the stock image files that ive pulled from the device with SP Flash Tool (even longer story) and since its a device with stock Firmware files that not stock android instead a very heavily modded version of android 7.1 to restrict usesage and for the company to control the devices remotely. Ive read init.rc files in both stock boot.img and system.img as well as all the instructions from the kernal to start Android (because thats been modified for their additions to the os) and ive tried to change the code in the many of init files to link the two paritions together so android can boot, but after a week of mounting, resading, comparing, editing, unmounting and reflashing non-stop im at a loss, and i really need some help ans this isnt your normal smartphone with ner genetic files and such
