Question Anyone facing huge battery drain on watch 4 44m? - Samsung Galaxy Watch 4

What we can do? i have disabled everything everything even BT and Wi-Fi so its kinda useless because if i connect my S21 FE with my watch the battery will drain more faster than with turned off BT,
which make sense alright,
BUT when you have disabled everything why drain the battery so fast?
its the classic watch 44 with NFC not with LTE.

Maybe because it needs system resources or your battery is not healthy.
You might need a new battery.

Yes. Had to clear cache 3 times in a row

disable those constant health monitoring like sleep tracking, oxygen tracking, stress tracking etc...

battery life is not dependent on what you flash. there is no such thing as a magic pill to flash to automatically give you good battery life. battery life is dependent on how you personally use your phone, how you personally set up your phone, what apps you chose to install, and very much depending on the quality of your phone/data connection.
...you bought and manually installed a new battery on your recently bought N5 before finding out what apps were causing the drain? Yikes. But yeah try better battery stats or wakelock detector to see what apps are draining it.
Mine's been off the charger for 29 hours so far and I still have 37% left. Depends how you use it. A good signal helps.

your battery life seems pretty average, not bad and not great. youll get about 3.5 hours screen on time total. sure, you can play with your settings/set up some to try to get it a little better. but, depending on your data/phone connection(quality of), you might not get much better(or you can get it much better).
You can also try going into your location settings and ticking the "Battery saving" mode.
I can confirm that data/phone connection quality has a huge impact.
At work my office is on the second of five floors with its windows faced to a very narrow court. So there is almost no connection and often the phone is switching between 2G, 3G and 4G all the time. If additionally the screen is on very often (due to messages, mails, etc.) the battery usually doesn't last longer than 5 to 6 hours.
A dutch guy . So am I.

K...just for one day do the following. ....start at 100 percent too.
Turn off location services. Turn off Google now. In the Google settings app, go into android device manager and uncheck both items. Turn off sync. Uninstall or freeze Facebook app and fitness app your screen shot listed. Freeze Google plus as well, if you're rooted. If not....sign out of it, or turn its sync off at least. Use browser for Facebook and google plus for the day.
Don't play ANY games.
Also, see how your signal strength is. If you are losing signal completely ....that will destroy your battery.
Do these things and see how your battery is. If its much better, then you can try turning things back on....one thing per day. And when your battery gets bad again....you know its the last thing you turned on.
See how it goes.

Also try what the above user said, turn all social networking and weather/fitness/gps apps off as well as un-used radios ie: bluethooth, wifi, ect :good:
oh & it helps to have a nice kernel -- flash ElementalX / lower screen brightness as well. I dont get the BEST battery life but it last through most of the day for me. cheers :highfive:

Samsung Galaxy S7 Battery Life

Hi,
It has been a week since i bought my s7. I was not quite pleased with the battery life. It was just ok. But now it is getting worse.
battery is 10% at the time of writing this.
Total usage is 22 hours
Screen on time is 3 hours
Android system is taking 23% battery
Screen 19 %
Facebook 17 %
Is this normal? I was expecting atleast 4 to 5 hours SOT?
I have the AOD turned on. Sync is always off. I dont even have the mobile data turned on. I mostly use wifi for facebook and browsing.
Any suggestions on how to improve it?
Aod takes 1% in 1 hour. Facebook takes too much but its known issue. Facebook knows that too and making fix right now. You can disable and enable it and then it will be ok.

Though I own a S7 Edge, the following is from my experience with Note II & S2. I am not facing this with S7 Edge.
When I get a new device or get updates, I do a factory reset and start over. Just clearing the cache doesn't help.
I am using Package Disabler Pro to disable apps when not required and it doesn't require root access.

Disable aod. Aod doesn't let doze kick in. So idle drain with AOD is 2-3% per hr.

Hello, I'd like some help about battery drain too.
I've been using my S7 for 4 months and never made factory reset after the OTA updates.
Today, for example, the battery level fell down from 100 to 43% in 6 hours.
I've taken some screenshots from battery usage screen and the items described inside de Android System item, which is the most drainer one.
If you could give me your thoughts and forgive my poor English, I'd appreciate!
I had the complete opposite to you, well in the first few weeks anyways. It would take like an hour to kill like 3% and I left my phone at 60% once, left it overnight without charge and only dropped 2% - This was the case a number of times
Fjesuino. I wiped my cache, and the battery time did improve a little. Try it out, it might work. But i think there is something wrong with your device android system and sd shouldn't be that high.

S7 Exynos and back then I didn't really use AOD. It wouldn't be fair to show battery usage right now though as I'm using quite a heavy custom kernel.
As well as all the other tips you're getting above, I'd recommend flashing the Hydra ROM onto your phone as there are a lot of features to save battery. It ports to the Note 7 and you get features like reducing screen resolution, reduce background processes, it's even got its own RAM manager.
Personally, I don't see the battery as that much of an issue though and I do bash my phone a lot through the day as well.
Have you got a lot of apps installed? Do you have a SD?

The phones here in pakistan are mostly "smuggled" or imported. I have an imported one from canada g930w8, so it's without warranty.
But i dont want to root it, i have used many custom roms on previous android devices. i personally dont like third party ROMs that much. So i'll just debloat the current one.

S3 Frontier and Battery life on LTE

Can someone let me know some good settings for battery life on LTE watch? My battery don't even make it threw the day? Please?
I'm new to the watch (classic), so I'm running relatively stick settings.
I did set it to only turn on WiFi when Bluetooth connection lost. Screen timeout fifteen seconds. Location services off (figure if I'm driving and need it I'd rather use phone services).
I'm getting 48 hours between charges and dropping to around thirty percent.
Do you have a watch face that's running tons of stuff? Or basic one?
Talking on it a lot, or running music through it?
Basic watch face.
Check os version, update to tizen 3.0 has a lot of comments on battery issues. May just be you updated and are stuck with crap battery until they fix...

Something else obviously tapping your watch battery.
First thing I'd do is set a plain basic face. Then test for a day, if battery issue fixed then you just had a poorly designed face. Some take heart rate every minute... Steps, weather update. Stuff you may not realize is even happening.
If that doesn't do it, check your notifications. Do tons on apps send notifications often? Maybe drop down to a min amount, then test for a day.
I'd definitely set lte "mobile networks" to auto, then WiFi completely off or only on when Bluetooth disconnects. WiFi isn't much benefit when you have lte, because there's not much you can do with the watch to eat up any data cap you might have, so could leave it off.
Heart rate check every hour, nothing shorter.
Screen time out fifteen seconds
Hopefully that sorts it.
Another consideration is you could have a lemon. How long have you had it? Might have an overheating issue, which could eat the battery. I've heard of a few, but pretty rare I think.
Good luck,
Ooo

Hello, suggest resetting it. Use Blue Stealth watch face as it had very little white light which uses a lot of power.
Also. When it is disconnected from bluetooth and the LTE radio is on this will use much more battery. Keep all other settings as you have them. Samsung Health "nudges" also use battery so if you dont need them, turn those off too.
See if this helps too extend the battery life. If not then you truly may have a lemon.

Set up is everything. I use a black and white face with color only for a second hand. I turn off stuff I don't need like NFC and BT and wifi (don't need if LTE). I turned off Location because it doesn't seem to effect GPS when I'm walking. Not sure why yet. I dont use alot of wizz bang apps like a map, news alerts, or fancy running app. Just SHealth and there are things that the phone is just better for, like news. I get about 36-48 hours depending on if I text alot OR IF I'M OUT OF CELL RANGE. You'll burn alot of battery if the watch is looking for a tower. I'm working on how to manage that better. Hope that helps.

I had the exact same problem with my watch, and I was never able to figure it out. I tried factory resetting it, booting it up in recovery mode, uninstalling all 3rd party apps, letting it drain completely and recharging it, etc., but nothing seemed to affect the battery drain. The weird thing is the watch would last 3 days on a charge even though it would drain quickly at first. It would go down to 55% within the first couple of hours, rise back up to 60-70%, and then drain slowly for the next 2 days. The fact that the battery lasted 3 days was great, but the initial drain bugged me so much that I sold the watch.
I read a post on the official Samsung forum where a guy said he narrowed his battery drain problem down to a bug in the Weather app. He claims the GPS antenna continuously searches for the location, even when Location Services are turned off. His solution is to never update the Weather app. Since I don't have the watch anymore, I have no way to verify it.

Overheating due to the old battery is possible?

Hi to all users, hoping you're having a nice day i ask you a question I bought two days ago a second hand Galaxy S7 Flat (G930F) gold platinum 32GB including original box and accessories and bla bla bla for 230€. The phone is working well is updated to Oreo with the latest security patch of July 2018 it's in the same condition as a new one really everything is fine except for one thing or two . Start talking about the battery that is really bad i can reach only 3h30min maybe 4h00min (only under WiFi usage) with screen resolution in FHD a lot of stuff deactivated etc everything setted for a low battery consumption (exeception for power saving mode that i hate) now the thing is i relate the battery to the second problem that i mentioned before and the problem is that the phone overheat a lot and i think this overheating is caused by the old bad battery is that possibile? An example im using only Whatsapp to text messages and the phone it's not hot but if alongside i open common application like Facebook or Instagram or anyway even if i open another two application that they are not Facebook or Instagram the phone overheat! I downloaded CPU-Z to see the temperature of the battery and it goes always from 30.4C to a max of 35.8C or sometimes 36.2C but never higher but the fact is that with this battery temperature when the phone is in my hand its really hot.. the thermal temperatures are always beetwen 36C when the phone is "cold" and max 46/47C when the phone is hot, almost forget to say not always but often the phone overheat a lot even when he is on charge.. now dont tell me that the battery its normal i know well that a S7 or S7 edge can do 6h or 7h of screen on usage (only over wi fi usage) or 4h on screen in 4G all day, mine with this battery reach only 1h33min or 2h in 4G i know this battery is bad and i will replace it in this days i hope until this friday but my question at the end is simple can an old battery cause so much overheating on this S7 or anyway in general on a phone? Thanks in advance to everyone that who spent time to read this and help me!
try installing Phone INFO apps from playstore and look the battery charging cycle. and i can confirm that with the Oreo my phone is hotter than Nougat. i'm using Snapdragon variant btw.

Battery Drain Question

HI guys.. Before I buy the note 20 ultra I want to make sure battery drain isn't crazy. If you would please turn off bluetooth, wifi and data and only leave mobile phone on, how much battery would you drain in 12 hours? Would appreciate this feedback.
Consider a new N10+ N975U1 running on Android 10 for $800, or half that price used.
Overall a better, more dependable flapship; better form factor and display (less variable refresh rate).
Android 11 is problematic and 12 is fubar.
The N10+ running on 9 or 10 is a very functional, long lived and fun to use device. Snappy fast with 10hr SOT when optimized.

My SD variant NOTE20U has been doing pretty well. Even with instant messaging apps always running in the background, and BT earphones connected and data enabled, only ~2% of battery was consumed sleeping overnight. If those were turned off, maybe 1%?
I installed an app that can monitor real-time power draw. With some debloat and optimization, the screen on standby power draw is around 80mA of current, with some spikes to ~150mA, which is very good.

I installed an app that can monitor real-time power draw. With some debloat and optimization, the screen on standby power draw is around 80mA of current, with some spikes to ~150mA, which is very good.

Appreciate the link.
With all those optimizations, hows your SOT?

Not bad, 5G enabled, 120Hz RR, AOD off, enhanced processing speed enabled, instant messaging apps always running, and it gives me around 22hrs of total use time, ~7 hrs of SOT, ~14 hours of standby. Mainly watching videos, shopping apps, playing a few 3D games, and browsing social media.

What's the monitoring app you're using?
Hi...
With everything which You stated "ON" ( Bluetooth connected to the watch, WiFi connected, location "ON", 5G "ON" ) its draining through the night 9-10 hr about 3 % from the battery...
Hopefully that answer will help a little bit...

Kinda confused by your statement. The user terpi74 above you said he experiences only 3% of drain per nite.

My bad, I forgot they don't use the name Scene on their GitHub page. The latest release is 4.7.3. After the installation, look for a little plug icon in the Scene app, located in the bottom left corner. And that "-XXXmA" is your current draw.
