i am looking to buy xiaomi pad 6. it looks like its only launched in china atm. i am in need of a tablet atm and this one seemed a good fit for me. theres no news about global launch and looking at the four month delayed global launch for pad 5, i cannot wait that long.
i wanted to know
1. what issues i would have to deal with if i buy the chinese variant.
2. genuine sources i can get this from
3. is there anything on the market with around similar specs and price?

Hey bro. I bought a Xiaomi Pad 6 Pro, 12gb ram and 256gb rom.
Its running chinese Miui pad software. After removing bloat (Some chinese apps) its absolutely the best ive ever had. Ive been using Xiaomi phones with miui for a while, and never used chinese roms.
But this one, on another level.
1) There are not too many issues i faced. Google play store was even pre-installed! (never had that before)
Its smooth, english works fine, can remove most apps that are chinese, and all runs fine.
Only thing i can think of, is that when using other launchers, like Nova, some animaltions/dualscreen shortcuts work alittle less easy.
But for most, the normal standard launcher (With a smart dock) works fine.
2) since I live in Myanmar,I get them straight from china, so cant say much on places elsewhere, for this version i paid about 450usd. cant match that im afraid.
3) not that i can think of. There is a Xiaoxin lenovo tablet, that has the 870 snapdragon, but again, where would you get it from..
If you have any questions regarding the tablet, let me know, ill do my best in answering!
I bought the Mi Pad 6 Chinese version. I unlocked the bootloader and installed the global ROM (Indian version). Extremely satisfied. I hope there will be more custom ROMs available for it soon.

i just read a guide on unlocking bootloader. it requires a sim card and a data connection to work. and this device doesnt have that. how did you bypass this?
Which guide have you read? It's simple, just use Xiaomi's unlock tool and wait for 7 days.
I appreciate you guys for the advice, I was afraid before but thanks for giving me the advice.
I like the tablet very much. Speed, battery life, feel, quality.
But MIUI is absolute sh*t, especially the chinese version with its preinstalled keyboards and bloatware.
You have to put the GBoard on it ASAP and disable / uninstall a lot of apps.
In the chinese version some messages are not translated and therefore displayed in chinese.
I'm currently waiting for the bootloader to unlock and then install another ROM.

CNA you please share a link to the Indian ROM.
The only one I see to find is the GSI for a different device but people say it's compatible.
Thx !

1. Some of the messages will be in Chinese, but apparently installing morelocale solves a lot of problems
2. I bought me a pad 6 pro from tradingshenzen and it arrived in Poland in 10 days from China - I also know other people who bought from this portal. I had no duty or added tax.
The second reliable source is giztop gives a link to xiaomi pad 6 and xiaomi pad 6 pro (it's not much more expensive).
3. this is the best offer I've seen on giztop LENOVO XIAOXIN PAD PRO 2022 - but I don't know if it's worth it because previous versions were a drama when it comes to unlock and root, or watching netflix (problem with certificates).
If you don't want to have problems get xiaomi mi pad 6 there will be a lot of custom roms for this model. If you want to have a performance king, get a pad 6 pro.

The answer is obvious. Why will there be a ROM specific to a country where the product will never be release?

Hi
Bought the Xiaomi Pad 6 (6gb/128gb) Chinese version a week ago via eBay from EU for £317. Great tablet, came with Google play installed and filled it with required apps. Only problem is that some system Chinese apps cannot be uninstalled. Am waiting until a Global rom is available and then I will unlock and root . Don't mind MIUI as have a Xiaomi Redmi note 12.

Hi Guys, I'm wondering if Mi4 is still worth it to get today. I have the chance on also getting the Mi4C instead. So I would like to know your experience with it and if you have had the chance to try and compare it to the Mi4C, what would you recommend me to go for.
Mi4 or Mi4C
I wonder if is it a deal breaker to get the Mi4c over the Mi4, taking in count both cameras and the processor. Considering also both with 3 gb ram, and software development such as custom roms and xiaomi official firmware.
Thanks

I did get the mi4 because:
- Better design (in my opinion)
- possibility to install w10
- more roms ( i think)
and in terms of performance and camera they are almost equal.
Mi4 should have better camera, F1.8 aperture size.
I am going to buy a new smartphone and the 2 alternatives are Mi4 3gb no LTE (my operator uses mainly 800mhz lte) and Redmi Note 3 Pro 3gb. Prices are $160 for Mi4 and $216 for Redmi. I don´t like phablet but the newer hardware of Redmi Note 3 Pro is also interesting... Any advice?
I'm not a pro, so my advice may be wrong, but I believe the Mi4 kernal is open so you can will get more longer term custom ROM support (eg Cyanogenmod) where as the Redmi might have better specs, but the kernel source may never be released and therefor you'll be restricted to whatever version of MIUI Xiaomi choose to releases on the device. I was faced with exactly the same choice and went with the Mi4. Infact I am about to install CM13 on it.

Ah, I was actually thinking of the Redmi Note 2 which hasn't got a kernel release if I'm not mistaken. I would go for the Note 3 in your case. Better specs, and bigger screen is a good thing too.
Not to bump a thread a few days old, but I'd say the Mi 4. I just bought one on sale for $145 or so with shipping. I was torn as well but the hardware is what appeals to me the most. I also like how you can install Windows Phone 10 on it, I might do that for a few days just to reminisce of my WP days.
please a question, the xiaomi mi 11 Pro will not be released globally? I researched and would like this information please.. a seller Aliexpress said he can change the language, because the chinese version has only chinese and english .. maybe flash another rom. he said that doing this will take another 15 days to send. saw a tutorial that make the global flash rom in minutes. work 5g in Brazil?
There is another problem, when you use not global version, chinese changed soft you will not have netflix on HD etc
Xiaomi Mi 11 Pro can be very easily converted from Chinese Version to Global or EEA.

so it doesn't worth to get the pro variant on Europe, no?

Hi,
All information you can find at this forum but first you must unlock bootloader (official unlock through Xiaomi) and it takes 7 days. After that you can choose right for you ROM (Global - hevily based on Google Apps, EEA - less Google Apps, EU Custom - close to original Chinese ROM). I sold my 11 Pro but now I regret it.
Just buy it and after that contact me again. In meantime you can register to Xiaomi.

Why do you regret it? The camera it's awful, no Desktop Mode, USB 2.0 instead of 3.1....

Camera isn't awful - most flagship smartphones have similar cameras now, they all perform really good
Which global Xiaomi smartphone has desktop mode? MIUI+ is still in beta and only available in China (MIUI+ doesn't even have english interface)
And no Xiaomi phone has USB 3.1 - they all have USB 2.0, including the recently announced Xiaomi 12 phones..
That's why I've said that Xiaomi phones are awful. About the camera, I can disagree with you, even a P30 Pro that's a 3-year-old device is performing better than a Mi 11 Pro....

Sorry, You are wrong about the camera. Just got my 11 pro which I also had before and then sold it (just had to return to it ) In the meantime I had p30 pro, p40 pro, S21 Ultra, Find x2 pro...The Xiaomi is better than those smartphones, at least in my eyes.

Why do you say it's better? The zoom's awful, night photos are pretty bad, and daylight photos are not ok. Also, no Desktop Mode, USB 2.0, and software with bugs, you need to complicate with Xiaomi.EU rom to solve this...
I really hate that Huawei doesn't have GMS anymore, otherwise I would pick a P50 Pro/Mate 40 Pro with my eyes closed cause my S20+ sucks.
I have the Pro-version. Have also had standard Mi 11 and Mi 11 Ultra. For some reason I get clearly better battery life on 11 Pro compared to both 11 and 11 Ultra. Not sure why. I think the better battery life is the biggest advantage for me with 11 Pro over the standard Mi 11. The GN2 sensor on 11 Pro is really good but not that much better than the HMX-sensor in Mi 11. Sometimes I think that the 27MP binned photos from Mi 11 may be preferable since I like detailed photos.

Hi,
That version you're trying to buy is most probably the EU global version, which comes with all Global languages pre-installed. If you insert your SIM before the first time setup (first boot), your phone should automatically recognize your region and adjust itself accordingly.
If your language isn't included, you can unlock the Bootloader, flash official firmware from a different reigon and then Re-lock it again.
Also, as a Seasoned Xiaomi device enthusiast, here are a couple tips before buying/deciding:
There are some complaints and many reviews that the proximity sensor is sometimes defective on Arrival from seller, making calls extremely uncomfortable. Make sure to check its functionality before the Return window closes.
I own the Poco X3 NFC, which has the same snapdargon 732g chipset. Trust me when I say this, MIUI 12.5 is not optimized quite well for them. Games also don't recognize the right graphical settings for it. (Unless you plan to run a Custom ROM/Root immediately)
If you can sacrifice having a 3.5mm jack/sdcard, I would suggest buying the POCO F3, which is practically the same price but with the sd 870 chipset, an 200% increase in performance. Making MIUI actually usable.
If you must have 3.5mm/sdcard but can forgo an amoled screen for an LCD one, I would suggest the POCO X3 pro. It comes with the snapdragon 860 chipset and is cheaper in price anyways.
More answers can be found in the device sub-forum. Have fun with your new purchase
I cannot flash note 10 pro after I installed arrow rom , I guess it happened after the update of arrow rom. Before it was working fine.
Try everything from Twrp .. like cleaning
a.dalvik cache
b.System
C.metadata
d.Data
e.Cache
And even format...
arrow rom shows up again after reboot .....any help?
I also think it must come with all Global languages pre-installed.
Hello everyone!
In this day I was considering the idea of buying the Lenovo tab p11 .. all very nice except that I discovered that there are two versions sold in the world. the first is the Chinese version with 6 GB of RAM and the other is the "global" version with 4 GB of RAM. Now, not necessarily more RAM means better but I would like to know if with the optimization on the software side the difference can be noticed. also, coming from Nexus 4, Nexus 5 and while I'm writing this pixel 2 XL thread, the modding, if I get the Chinese version, Is that complicated? if i don't get the global version, will disney + or netflix or prime videos work? because I read that with Netflix the classic apk is enough to install and you are ok but for the others?
PS the cost of the Chinese version of the tablet has the same cost as the global version here in Italy at the moment, around 180/200€

did hou get your device from trading shenzen? are there any differences to Chinese version of the devices? if you got the device from them, can you fast boot flash global or any other version?
sorry for the off topic
I got it from eBay, if you want i can send you the link.
They did the bootloader unlock and pre-installed the EU ROM, i just fastboot updated it.
My unit is the China version, so you can't flash global rom and lock the bootloader, so EU ROM is the best option.
with Chinese version ROM, are there any downsides? I am just worried if I have unlocked bootloader, Google pay will stop working eventually or won't at all as it does on custom ROM s

Well the EU ROM makes google and banking apps think that the bootloader is locked, so as long as the developers will continue to make updates there shouldn't be any problems. but check here more posts lots of people talking about China vs Global.

Well, I live in Europe and that missing 4G frequency B20 might be pretty essential, I might just wait until they lower the price on Global device. They will eventually, it has been just a month since the device released.

Is it actually true, and makes any sense "for a normal user"?
I always thought and lived in that mindset that data drains more, (and it makes more sense for me) due to that when you travel around, and the connection to the cellular towers always changing, sometimes back-and forth.
