Hello,
My phone is crapped coz I flashed a wrong boot.img on it after messing up the update (forgot to flash magisk and lost root). I can access Fastboot still but that's about it. IF anyone can provide the right boot.img for that device that would be grately appreciated.
I'll use it to see if I can restore my phone and then patch it correctly this time.
Thanks for any help

I strongly suggest with the shape you've gotten yourself into to plug into a PC using the correct msm tool from here https://onepluscommunityserver.com/list/Unbrick_Tools/ and restore your device to factory conditions and start fresh .

Hey,
Thanks for your reply, the thing is there's no EU version in these folders. Can I use global? Also where can I find a tutorial to restore back to stock with this tool? Thanks for your help.

Hello everyone!
To start i would like to say that i just discovered the amazing open world of android less than a month ago. I was on iOS(hit) for a too long time and it's was the moment to quit it.
By the way this forum really helps me to understand better the android system and all its features.
But i still need ot understand lot of stuffs. That's why i'm gonna start here.
First of all i was on stock rom and i rooted it, eveything worked fine but i wanted to go further. So I installed ResurrectionRemix rom. Wich is pretty fine but a little bit buggy sometimes (wich is normal it's an unofficial one, i'm not complaining about it, just wanted to give it a try). Let's say i would like to back to the stock rom. I have a backup i made right before flashing Resurrection via twrp. To get back to it i just have to restore through twrp? Or do i need first to go back to stock rom and then restore the backup?
On some topics i can read "you have to download the latest firmware for your phone", do you know where i can find it?
These are the two majors questions i'm wondering. I have a lot more but i'll try to get myself first and if not, i'll go back there.
I hope you could help me guys.
Thanks in advance.
Cheers.
P.S. : My model phone is a FRD-L09

Hello everybody !
Today i want to do a proper root installation on my device.
For this i m doing a rollback to stock rom and then update it to b389 firmware through the update manager by selecting the "download all package" option.
I was wondering wich tool is the best for rooting? Magisk v14.0 or SuperSU v2.82?
Also i've made a backup with HiSuite of my apps and configs. Is it better to restore it first and then root the device or firstly root the device and then restore the backup?
Thanks in advance for your help guys!
Cheers!

Since u've rolled back and have done a full update there's a large possibility that ur bootloader is now relocked. So to root u have to unlock the bootloader. So unlock ur bootloader, then restore all ur data and then flash Magisk since it seems to be a lot more stable.

Indeed my bootloader was properly relocked also.
I did in the order you told me. Everything's fine except that i have a small bug with magisk. Now i can't register new fingerprint since i rooted my device woth magisk.
Do you know if it's a common issue with magisk root?
Thanks for your help anyway!

You did not explain how to install it
Through instal
Or through backup
Because I asked and did not really get an answer
So I went the way I understand
It was ZIP twice
I deleted everything and needed the file again
After repeated attempts without success
I tried to create some interest in the model H990
And I failed in a big way

You didn't fail, I think the modding community just moved on from this device a long time ago, especially since the H990 got root almost a year after release when the V30 was beginning to be hyped up.
We can't thank you enough for trying, though. It's a shame that this phone didn't get the attention it deserved.
You saved me!
I would like to buy you a drink. You absolutely saved my phone!
I have an LG H990DS that was on firmware v10e-AME-XX.
Following emdroidles dirtysanta, I flashed firmware H990ds10d_00_OPEN_AME_DS_OP_1216.kdz. At step 17 I flashed h990-kernel.zip.
I ended up with a phone that would boot into TWRP but not into Android (It got stuck on the 2nd LG logo). I could use ADB and I could use Fastboot. I tried to use LGUP to reflash my firmware but download mode ended in a static screen. LGUP would not not recognise my model beyond H99010p. I tried the common.dll and the patched LGUP as well, I got nowhere.
Sadly I had not performed a backup first. After a lot of searching I got your backup to work. Here is how I did it:
1) Download the folder [2016-01-01--21-11-52_NRD90M] onto your microSD card.
2) Enter TWRP and perform a backup. (This creates a folder unique to your phone.)
3) Using TWRPs filemanager, copy the whole folder [2016-01-01--21-11-52_NRD90M] into /external_sd/TWRP/BACKUPS/[your phones serial number here]/
4)Using the phones back button you can return to the TWRP Restore menu. AVIMPEG's backup is then available for you to download.
I at least now have a working phone. I would still like to get LGUP to recognise my phone so that I can flash the correct firmware again. Any ideas are welcome.

Sorry for the late response I'm not here much
So I modded the hell out of my stock rom and eventually broke it. After failing to flash the stock firmware about 50 times I gave up and put Lineage OS on my phone. Eventually I decided I wanted to try putting the stock back on and somehow screwed up my IMEI crap and don't have a backup. Basically all my phone can do is run stock rom but without any mobile network support or the same thing with Lineage OS. I've spent hours trying to fix it but nothing's worked. I checked just about every guide I've been able to find and none of them work. the issue is either not fixed or there's some kind of an error/change during the process that makes it so I can't continue. I downloaded some combination file that is supposed to help fix the issue but it won't flash via ODIN like the guide says so i can't do that.
I really need this phone up and working again. Anyone got any ideas? As of right now I have a paper weight that I can browse the internet on.
Update: I fixed it by flashing Android 8.0.0 firmware onto my phone instead of 7.0.0. I'm not sure why that fixed it because even lineage OS couldn't get my IMEI number but it's working now.

Quickest way to solve the issue as you've found out is to flash latest stock for device. Bootloader was the source of your problems, once upgraded it cannot be downgraded no matter what. All these bull sh1t guides saying you can just end up with a bricked phone.
Now BACK UP your EFS partition so this doesn't happen again.

Read the MSM Tool thread OP carefully - it has the answer.
Okay... I've been searching all over the net for this problem and I keep getting posts that skirt the issue. At least, that's what it seems. So I will begin and you can decide... and thanks for whatever info you can throw my way.
Brand new OnePlus 8T. I want to root it. Duh. So, Got the Tiny ADB and Fastboot package and all the rest, but the issue is with unlocking the bootloader. Other problems may appear later, but this is the issue now.
So, connect phone to PC (Windows 8.1) and the only way that ABD recognizes my phone is when the USB prefs are set to 'No Data Transfer". Yes, I have installed the proper drivers from the phone. So, when the 'No Data Transfer' is selected, ADB recognizes the phone and will issue the command, ABD Reboot Bootloader and the phone reboots to the bootloader. Nice! Unfortunately, it appears that once the phone has booted to the bootloader, it has changed the USB Prefs and now ADB and fastboot do not see the phone. Obviously this sucks. And here is the problem. As far as I know, I have ticked off on all the proper settings. USB Debugging, etc. No joy!
I found a post elsewhere that showed how to set the default USB mode and that didn't work either. My experience has been that ADB used to see the phone under the 'File Transfer' and PTP options before, but it doesn't now. I can't explain this.
So, pretty frustrated. This shouldn't be so bloody difficult. It's only a couple of commands and I have done this with other phones in the past so it's not like I have no previous experience. But I have already wasted way too much time here this go around. Anyone have an answer? I'll be your best friend!!
Thanks all..

to root my 8T, but it appears that this fellow was missing some info? I take it ya can't just flash twrp to recovery like usual. The picture is slowly coming together.. much more complex than the last few times I have rooted phones.
So I assume that flashing twrp writes over the stock recovery.. and that leads to this crashdump mode popping up. To fix this, I will need the stock recovery.img and flash that back into place? Feel free to chime in and thanks in advance!

Flashing TWRP doesn't cause CrashDumps. They happen when you try to boot the system and something's not right.
You could try changing slots and then rebooting. That sometimes works (depending on what else you've done). You can do this in either TWRP or bootloader.
PS: if you use the reply button, then I'll be advised that you've posted a reply. Otherwise you'll have to wait until the next time I look to see if there's new posts in a thread.

myself with android 10, I was using it, I was already using magisk in 2015, on my Sony z5c (with lineage 7.0.2/ base is the ROM Orange Telecom owner... )
but since Android 11, the data decryption is no longer the same.
just the 30 second twrp boot, I don't really like it, so restored a system with something like that ... lol
Magisk is the best Root solution!
I like this!
Since the magisk_patched has become root's solution, to A11.
an old dog!!
You like croquettes and the mash?
Thx,

If they could fix the interminable start up time for TWRP that would be brilliant. But I believe the problem is with a file system check rather than the actual decryption which is quite fast.
Sorry, croquettes and mash aren't in my menu. But empanadas - absolutely!
Sorry, I had to leave this for a day or so, but I am back. BillGoss, looking at the guide I posted a link to earlier, would you say that guide is acceptable or are there issues with it? Theoretically that is? And does it depend on what build you are using?
Or if you know of a better process and files, please feel free to point me at it.
Many thanks

Sorry, I have no interest in checking out non-XDA guides. We have enough (too many?) of them on XDA as it is.

There-in why I asked if you might point me at something reliable. But I guess not...
Thanks anyway..

Hi guys, to root the 8T it's by magisk_patched.img via magisk manager, not twrp (it's old school),
Root FR (sorry a'm frenche, and better explain to me.)
since Android 11 twrp is less good ...

Actually a trick you can use is in twrp if you have the magisk APK change the ext to zip and install in twrp it patches the boot img for you in right slot so you don't have to pull img from phone
