Hi everyone, we need to revive an old G Tablet clone (aka Olipad 100), so it would be nice to grab the opportunity to bring the (few) remaining Tegra-2-based tablets' users/devs together around an \e\ (aka deGoogled-Lineage) port.
We've opened a dedicated "device request" 3ad @ \e\ community:

If needed, here's a couple of interesting guides that may help to build it:
How to Build the /e/OS ROM?

I was asked in another thread I started to pull together all the links - to these forums and elsewhere - that I have found useful. After a while, I decided to pull that information, and other stuff I have learned since I started trying to build ROMs. After a while, I decided to take all the...

Hey All! I have been lurking around the forums and reading intensively on how to create a ROM but all I get usually is moreso on how to modify an existing rom, not actually create one from scratch, the steps involved in creating one, either from a Download of the base rom (un-rooted ) or pulling files off the phone itself via (adb pull /system )
If you know of any good info that may be of use to me please feel free to post a link! Any help would be appreciated!
**I currently have/use the Samsung Galaxy Prevail (SPH-M820 ) boostMobile, so anything directly related would be appreciated**
Thankx!
This is the very core of it!
Android source
You will be able to download compile and build a ROM, although, all of those threads on modifying ROM's will then come in handy because you are going to have a lot of tweaking as well.
If you are interested in Cyanogenmod source have a look HERE
Also check out the Chef Central section subforum Android. Lots of good stuff there.
imheroldman - Thanks I appreciate the links! , and those are some I have NOT run across yet lol :facepalm:
GALAXY 3 (I5800/I5801) FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTION, TROUBLESHOOTING, GENERAL HELP !!!
IF YOU ARE NEW TO XDA AND/OR TO THE DEVICE, OR NEED A GOOD PLACE TO START OFF WITH, OR WANT TO KNOW ABOUT SOME REALLY BASIC STUFF RELATED TO THE DEVICE, YOU MUST READ THE FOLLOWING POST(S). OTHERWISE, ASKING FOR HELP IN THE DEVELOPMENT AND OTHER SUB-FORA, WILL ONLY MAKE PEOPLE LAUGH AT YOU. MUST READ ON !!!
So, recently there has really been lots of mess created over the XDA forums due to careless behaviour of some newbies and disregarding of the rules and guidelines by many. So, as a part of the initaitive by the moderators, and contributors, this thread is being published.
FIRST THING FIRST, THIS IS ONLY FOR GALAXY 3 (NOT TO BE CONFUSED WITH GALAXY S3)!!
ANY OF THE STEPS FROM THE LINKED GUIDES/FORA, IF NOT FOLLOWED CORRECTLY MAY HARM/DAMAGE YOUR DEVICE, FOR WHICH THE XDA/DEVS/MEMBERS ARE NOT RESBONSIBLE IN ANY WAY.

Guidelines
Some general guidelines (not rulles!) to follow -
1. Dont post in the wrong forum. Any development thread goes to development section. Any stuff related to themes, apps, games, shares general mods etc, go to themes and apps section. Any query, obviously, shall go to q&a section. Rest go to general.
2. Searching is key to a happy life on XDA . Never post without searching. If you are sure that what you want is not there on WHOLE of XDA, then post it.
3. Refrain from making posts like "thank you dev/ great work man/ thank you/ good luck/ best wishes" in development threads. Keep the development threads as clean as possible.
4. Questions will not be entertained in the development thread.
5. ETA (Estimated time of arrival) will not be entertained in any development thread. Asking again and again will not make it better, but may make it worse.
6. If you post in threads without following the above guidelines, you are actually putting yourself and others in trouble.
7. Use the
Thanks button to thank the dev/member, dont write it as a post.

ROOTING -
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
DEFINITION - Android rooting is the process of allowing users of smartphones, tablets, and other devices running the Android mobile operating system to attain privileged control (known as "root access") within Android's subsystem.
As Android was derived from the Linux kernel, rooting an Android device is similar in practice to accessing administrative permissions on Linux or any other Unix-like operating system such as FreeBSD or OSX.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
PROCESS - Android 2.1 (Eclair) - Use the app Z4Root from market
Android 2.2 (Froyo) - Link
Android 2.3/4.0/4.1/++ (Gingerbread/Ice cream sandwich/Jelly Bean) - No need, if you are on one of these, you are already rooted.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
BUT WHY TO ROOT ?? - Link
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
FLASHING -
1. STOCK ROMS can only be flashed via ODIN. For a guide on how to use ODING, head HERE
LINK : TO GUIDE ON HOW TO USE ODIN FOR FLASHING STOCK/CUSTOM ROMS/KERNELS !
2. CUSTOM ROMS can be flashed either via ODIN or via CWM Recovery (Once you have it - see 2nd post) depending on the type of the file provided by the dev. .tar files need ODIN. update.zip files can be flashed via CWM.

This info is just to drop new update info to users like me who have Minix Neo X5, X7 or these mini versions.
Been using a fixed rom and firmware to be able to watch HD movies on my Minix Neo X5 mini for a while and as it can be reffered has quite old hardware specs for Android TV box, i wasn't expecting updates... Untill last months were someone got their hands on development for these boxes, as mentioned on minix forum.
So first i want to thank the developers cuoted there:
"From the MINIX Forum Developers Team;
@gufone
@hardwareGuru
@kar
Also thanks to the MINIX Engineers, without them we would not come this far! "
All info can be found at search engine (i can't post links yet) "x5mini-kitkat-240-june-4th-2015.6184"
Don't forget as usual that before flashing you should backup your device so you can get back if something goes wrong;
download all tools first and install them and read carefully all info, even pay attention that someone says it might be hard to go back from kitkat to jellybean if you want, so proceed on your own risk and don't try to take responsability to others if something goes bad! There's plenty information to do this safelly. One good advise is to start flashing from a clean stock.
Read other users post for functionallity and issues, this is official firmware but a development one!
Thanks everyone involved!
A post to let people interested in small Android phones know that the firmware of the Jelly 2 has been made available by Unihertz. Would be great if a LineageOS version of this could be made.

The Jelly 2 seems to have very similar hardware to the Atom XL, same CPU and GPU for a start. I think the device tree from the XL can be used as a baseline to create a device tree and build LineageOS for the Jelly 2:

I would be so happy if someone did this!!
I briefly started looking at this yesterday evening, though no promises at this point. This is the first time I'm trying to build a custom rom from almost nothing, so it will take some time to get it right.
I haven't yet received the device, and won't be able to test anything at this point, but I've forked the LOS17.1 repo and started extracting relevant files from system.img and vendor.img. I'd be very happy to collaborate with someone that have more experience building custom roms, or even pass the ball!
I just got one yesterday to play with and noticed that I can't seem to unlock the bootloader. Haven't done much digging into it yet

Me too! Really want it!
The official forum of Unihertz is down and the link to the Google Drive is also unreachable. Is there any other links to download these files?
wrong topic
And you can still use the Drive link. You just need to request access.
Yesterday I installed Android 11. Took me a while to get it working on Windows 11. But after three hours of fiddling I finally succeeded. Install all driver packages provided by Unihertz! I even went as far as manually installing the inf files in the first package. When you want to scan the com ports, turn the phone off en press up + down volume when connecting USB. Only then will the com port become available.
And disable driver signing in boot options, the test-mode and signage-off mode don't work for drivers (Windows 10 commands).
Battery usage has improved massively, approximately 3% drainage per hour stand by. Notification LED still not working. But, fingerprint reader works in banking apps. I came from Meetoul's LoS18.1, which was near perfect. But the battery drainage was getting on my nerves. Overall quite happy with Android 11, even if it's only been 20 hours.
Curious how things are going here. How did the Android 11 test go? Any updates on dev?
Am watching for development of the Jelly 2. I think this device would be an excellent candidate for a vanilla Android OS. I'd buy one from Unihertz to use as a daily driver if it came with the possibility of AOSP

Are the ROMs on the google drive stock ROMs ? The Unihertz forum seems to be gone other than their social media. Been a big fan of Unihertz products but been away from them for awhile until I saw the Jelly 2 specs. It seems a lot of the info on rooting and TWRP that was on the Unihertz forum is nowhere else to be found.
Most threads here on rooting seem to have links referencing the absent Unihertz forum and a reference to reddit also seems missing info. I made the first TWRP for the Unihertz Atom so I guess I can probably work through getting the Jelly 2 rooted and TWRP on it but if anyone knows other sources with more complete information please post here.
let me start of by saying i found it difficult to navigate to the right place to post, I hope this is the right place if not please provide me a link to where i should re-post this ( :
i am also a noobie to the android shenanigans, i mean i do know my way around this phone, just not with android modding (/ romming) terms
i am searching for a lineage for microg files for preferably the most recent version. i found a way to build (or download) lineage, but not microg, which is something i would like. alternatively i would like a different rom that is privacy and security focussed (and primairily degoogled like microg) and works with this phone.
ive found plenty guides on how to install lineage as well as having read through their installation docs a few times, so i think all i need is someone with more experience within this scene to give me a helping hand ( :
thanks in advance
