It doesn't work that way. There is no command for that. Your carrier has to unlock it. If your phone is fully paid for, contact them and ask them to carrier unlock it

No I used one of the pm and it does work but play store works stop.
Pm uninstall -k -- user 0 .com.google.andriod.apps.work.oobconfig
I am sure and I am missing something.

I've seen this discussion HERE (where it is more actively discussed, even currently)
But as I understand it from perusing the thread lightly, this particular method seems to have been patched. There is a statement/update in the OP....

The only solutions are:
If you got the phone from a carrier that will carrier unlock the phone when it's finished being paid for, or any other conditions they require, then the solution is to pay the phone off. If it's not from a carrier that will eventually carrier unlock the phone, there's nothing you can do about it.
If you talk to some carriers and let them know you're travelling out of the country, and need to be able to use a different carrier's SIM since your current carrier doesn't have service there, sometimes they'll be nice and carrier unlock the phone. Note, there is temporary and permanent carrier unlock. If temporary carrier unlock doesn't work for your particular circumstance, and you tell the carrier, sometimes they'll be nice and permanently carrier unlock the phone for you.
General disclaimer and may not pertain to your question: Even if you can carrier unlock the phone, depending on the carrier, it doesn't necessarily mean that you'll then be able to bootloader unlock it. They are two separate things. Sometimes, being able to carrier unlock the phone results in being able to bootloader unlock it as well, but it just depends on the carrier.

No there is not. Unless you pay off the device as previously stated by others, there is no way to carrier or bootloader unlock your device which is why OEM unlocking is grayed out in your developer options. Simple as that.

T-mobile op8 sim unlock

So I'll preface this post by saying I can see there is an older thread that's related but has been locked so that's why I'm creating this one. I'm hoping someone can point me in the right direction of getting my op8 unlocked. It was purchased through t-mobile and is still being paid off. From what I can tell is it should be possible to get it unlocked I just don't know where to turn too. I've thought about calling t-mobile but from what I can tell is they typically offer temporary unlock codes and I'm not sure if that will suit me in my pursuit of rooting my phone. Anyways any help is much appreciated and thanks in advance.

You do not have to have it paid off. The usually want you to wait about 2 months and two payments and will issue a permanent unlock.
They have the ability to press a button and unlock, they may just not do it.

No not yet but I will here shorty. They've done it for me in the past without issue but I was an active duty air force person going overseas so hopefully they'll unlock me once again as a civy.
Call sprint customer service tell them you talked to oneplus and in order to get your phone working you need to downgrade software and the only way to do that is to unlock bootloader and only way to do that is a sim unlock if they won't do it request to speak with tier 2 in oklahoma they will call you m-f and as soon as you say that they process sim unlock
I just hit the TMobile permanent unlock to see if it would work and it did!
Permanent unlock allows toggling of OEM Unlock in developer options.

Does this mean I'm simply waiting for them to send email with bin file?

Question App says unlocked, phone stays locked

Had a hell of a time speaking with T-Mobile representatives these last couple of days. Everyone has a different opinion on what I need to do to unlock my S22 Ultra. Just today a guy recommended I download the T-Mobile Device Unlock app off the Play store and it said the following:
"Your device is currently permantently unlocked and allowed to be used with any carrier. Restart your device to apply these changes if your device was previously locked." Yet I do that and it remains locked.
Anyone else had this experience? Not sure what I can do short of returning it.

If you're talking about OEM Unlocking, that is completely separate from carrier lock, and there's little the carrier can do about it.

No, I'm not. There was apparently someone before me. The phone is paid off and I do believe there isn't any custom firmware on it and I went through a series of updates since getting the phone.
If this indeed is a T-Mobile phone, you shouldn't need the T-Mobile unlock app. Just look around in Settings > Connections & look around for SIM unlock, network unlock or something along those lines (I'm running US unlocked firmware XAA, so, I don't have the unlock in my settings, otherwise, I'd be able to give you the exact terminology).
Anyway, once you've found it, you should be able to check for the SIM Unlock. If it says you're unlocked & you're still having issues, I'd call customer service.

I know that. I've been on the phone with them for over two hours already. I asked them to put in a request to unlock it given the previous owner's contract and filed a complaint with the FCC. The phone SHOULD be eligibile for unlocking but the carrier is just being stubborn.

For T-Mobile you have to be carrier unlocked first before you can unlock the bootloader. This usually involves paying off the phone and then contacting the carrier to have them Carrier unlock it.

You have to get TMobile to do a permanent sim/network unlock. They do it over the phone. They make you follow specific rules though, device has to be payed off and you have to have been with T-mobile for a specific amount of time...... If you get a tech support guy who just doesn't care then you may get lucky. I just kept calling until someone did it for me.

Could have if they rooted before letting the phone be booted with a sim card. Verizon carrier unlocks at 6 months paid off or not. You don't have to ask it just happens but if you need to be 100% sure then ask.
I remember getting the first XL and without thinking I booted it up with the sim, it updated and bye bye unlock bootloader option. Thankfully my son also wanted one so we just swapped. I rooted before anything else, then put my sim in and didn't use ota updates because I didn't want the bloat from Verizon.

Changed it again huh? I know carrier unlocking is irrelevant but they were talking about it and I knew the vzw info because I had them unlock a phone then they pushed an app to it and that was that.
I have 2 7 pros I need to root that will be going on Verizon but I'm not putting the sim in until I'm done setting up either way. It's bloat free and staying that way. I'm probably switching to fi if the service is good here. I'll save a ton of money on just 2 lines.

It doesn't matter if you put the SIM in yet or not. What matters is where you got the phone from - each carrier has a different model number. Did you get the phones from Verizon? Then you're out of luck, no bootloader unlocking, no root. Did you get them from Google? Then it's easy, just follow guides on here.
And as others have mentioned, T-Mobile allows you to unlock your phone but it almost always requires that you have the device on active line for 60 days and that you have paid for it in full.

Of course not, I don't trust Verizon for even a brief second. I bought a non carrier variant at best buy. I also bought a fi sim because I want to quit Verizon. We pay something like $158 a month for 2 lines and 4 gigs of shared data. Here they have the best service by far but I'm near wifi 99% of the day so it's not a worry.
Hell last month we used 0.68 gigs of data though I saved 30 using Adguard.
I've been rooting since the G1 so I don't forsee any problems but I'm looking for changes like you mentioned and others have...
Really miss those days especially once the Nexus one was out.
Everything was easier to do and there were tons of custom ROM options. With TWRP I'd make an image then flash a new ROM and possibly kernel and be tinkering in settings in under 3 min. It's a shame the scene has shrunk so much but there is still tons of quality stuff which is always nice.

The old days are gone unfortunately. People should consider themselves lucky if they can even get a custom recovery for their device.
I'm perfectly happy with stock Pixel rom. The only reason I root is for custom kernel and some extra control over the apps on my device.
The benefits of rooting and/or unlocking the bootloader have diminished greatly overtime.

Good luck getting a class action because you can't bootloader unlock your phone. It's been this way with phones on Verizon for many years now. Never buy a Verizon branded phone if you want to unlock the bootloader.

Question Pixel 7 Pro: Blocked by Verizon, but unblocked at the same time.

I live in Paraguay and I bought my Pixel 7 Pro from Amazon Renewed, I thought that since the phone is super new this phone will work fine, which is true except for the Verizon part.
The box from the seller said that sometimes the phones can tell you that the SIM wasn't supported, but with an update, everything will be OK and working smoothly.
I connect my Old Phone to the new one, let it update, and everything looked like it could work, except the SIM card.
I had the notification saying: "SIM Card isn't supported, Ask Verizon if the device can be unlocked. Tap here for contact details."
I tried every possible way to make it work but wasn't able. I tried updating the Android, ADB Shell, and Bootloader, and nothing.
I contacted Verizon and after talking for ages with them, after checking my IMEI they told me the phone IS in fact unblocked.
Verizon and the Seller of the phone told me that maybe my carrier didn't support the phone. That wasn't true because when I do a factory reset of the phone and activated it completely offline, my phone picks up 4G LTE from my carrier TIGO from Paraguay, but as soon it connected via my SIM card internet, I got the same notification: SIM card isn't supported.
Funny enough, with the Factory Reset of the phone and turning off the Mobile Data from my SIM card I was able to make a phone call with no problem at all, so it's not a problem from my carrier.
But IT'S SEEMS is not a Verizon problem either.
Is the phone (android) problem maybe? I have NO IDEA how to go about this problem. Can you help me?
Sounds like that phone is SIM locked. If you asked them if it's blocked, that could mean they checked the blacklist to see if it was a stolen device, not the SIM lock status.
Contact Amazon and start the return process because as you're not the original owner, they won't just unlock the phone for you. Also, the Verizon model is not the one you want anyway, it's permanently bootloader locked.

I'm just trying to make it work since I already have the phone, but it seems I don't have much luck
Verizon in the USA is moving to e-sim only. we had a couple phones at work where we needed to take out a sim they supplied and use the e-sim
It could be that you need a new sim card. You could ask Verizon to send you new sim card and see if that works.
However from the message that you said the phone is giving you it really sounds like the device is sim locked to another carrier. I would return it to Amazon right away. If you want to try another renewed device I would try to contact the seller and tell them of the problem you had and that they have to make sure to send you an unlocked device.

I guess I am confused by your post. Why would you call Verizon on the first place if they are not your carrier? Unless you found that the device is a locked Verizon phone. If it is sim locked to Verizon then only Verizon can unlock it. If Verizon said it was unlocked but it was at one point locked to Verizon then it may have not been properly unlocked by the original owner. It could also be that the sim unlock by previous owner didn't completely work. Either way you are going to be out of luck trying to unlock it yourself.
I went through unlock hell with t mobile with a device that I paid for and was eligible to be unlocked but because I didn't buy the phone through T-Mobile they couldn't unlock it.
I would highly suggest that you return it unless you know for a fact that it is an unlocked phone and always was an unlocked phone.
I wish I could help or give some other advice but it would be worse if you tinkered with the device and couldn't return it and ended up in the same position. Best to return it as quickly as you can. Get your money back. Then try again, try to get a new unlocked Pixel if possible another way?

If it was supposed to be an "unlocked" phone that you purchased, I would send it back. Amazon should not have sent you a Verizon phone if it was supposed to be unlocked.

I've seen tons of videos and every one of them ends at pm uninstall thing which doesn't works for me, mine is T-Mobile version
I also hear that it got patched, any other new working methods? I would appreciate help <3
The only reliable option with 100% success is your carrier. In this case T-Mobile.

You can't "access" T-Mobile (0% chance accessing them)? Can I/we ask why?
Most members here get theirs carrier unlocked via Twitter, the T-Mobile support app (chat), and/or even calling/emailing them.... Are these options that unavailable for you (0% chance)?

It's because i bought this phone as unlocked in my country and it turned out it was sim locked, when i checked everything was fine so i thought it was carrier free. That's the main problem
Ask them for unlock via any methods here described. They usually do it! Contact them.
