Hello, is there a version of bx actions or the newer side actions app that is compatible with the S22 Ultra?
When I try to open bx actions on this device, I get the message to download side actions. When I try to download side actions from the play store, it won't let me as it says its not compatible with this device.
I don't mind paying for a different app if it has the same functionality as bx actions.
Thanks.

I am one of those people that appreciate minimalism, so I would like to have a completely empty homescreen with no icons whatsoever. But I would like to be able to open the app drawer (A third party app drawer downloaded from the GP Store called Quad Drawer) simply by pressing the home button on my AT&T Galaxy S3. I have Cyanogenmod 10.2, and in system settings it does allow a few unique actions to be set for the home button, but none that allow the launching of a specific app (Quad Drawer). I was wondering if anyone knows of a way to make the phone allow me to set a specific app to launch when a hardware key is pressed.
Thank you for your time.

Hi,
I am also one of those people who wants to have no icons on homescreen )
Try this solution:
- install External Keyboard Helper https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.apedroid.hwkeyboardhelperdemo
- in advanced settings, set application shortcut (A0) to the specific app (Quad Drawer)
- in advanced settings, remap your key to 0x2410 (= aplication registered under A0)
- HOME button is a special key, it is difficult (probably impossible) to remap it using External Keyboard Helper. If you really want to remap it completely, you need to edit keylayouts in /system/usr/keylayout Editing keylayouts, you can change the behaviour of the HOME button to something else, for example CALL Then you can remap this new CALL button to 0x2410 using External Keyboard Helper.

is there a way to do so without making custom image
just look for apps like Tasker, MacroDroid, Automate, ...
edit: btw you can select the default launcher from Settings - Apps - Configure apps - Home App
Tasker would be a good option...

in shell script you can watch the keys in a loop (toolbox getevent -il) and perform an action on event (am start -n <pkgname>)
hi i was wondering is it possible to long press the menu hardware button to launch a specific app?
Thank you
There's a chance that there's a ROM out there with this feature. It used to be pretty standard but for some reason it was dropped a couple of Android versions ago. The closest you might get is Slide Launcher from the Play Store, but that'll launch a small launcher from which you need to select the app to launch.

Looking for a screenshot app that has no UI. I had one before, but can't recall the name. Long story short, my bf has a phone with a wonky home button (Samsung) and the native screenshot method won't work. I want to use such an app as a trigger paired with either Tasker or Xposed Additions, to map 'launching' the app to a long-press of one of his nav buttons, thus taking a screenshot through long-press of a single button. My ROM allows a screenshot option in the notification panel, but his ROM (Optimized CM12.1) doesn't have this, and aside from this small missing feature the ROM is fantastic. He also doesn't want to use gestures as a trigger. GravityBox breaks touchscreen functionality, so that is also out of the question. The app I used before did not create a notification icon, so this would be great if a similar app exists or if you know the name of what I used. Any suggestions?
As you may know, the Good Lock labs One Hand Operation+ allows user defined gestures to do all kinds of things, ie. Shortcuts
As I use Firefox on the phone by default, would anyone know if there is a key-combination or other method to use OHO+ Gesture to open a new tab in Firefox?
You could try with Bixby Routine + touch macro maybe. Then attach it to a button action

Use Activity Launcher to create a shortcut for opening a new rab (unfortunately I don't use Firefox so can't say which is that one, you just need to search through the available Activities). Use OHO+ to launch that shortcut.
You could also use OHO+ for opening Firefox (open app), isn't that enough?
The solution was "Home Screen Shortcuts" and one of these is Firefox:New Tab
Hello all,
I am looking for an app, which acts like a press of the "recent apps/recent activity" button. I mean the button on Android at the low end of the phone,. There is typically the back, home and recent apps button.
Background is, I want to setuo this feature on a physical keyboard button, but for this I need a dedicated app, which act like this.
Thanks a lot
[root] Recently - Apps on Google Play
Make recents (aka overview aka multitask button) useful again
play.google.com

Try this app that replaces the action of physical keys. There are many apps similar in operation, but for me this one is the best.
Button Savior Non Root - Apps on Google Play
Same great Button Savior without needing to root your device!
play.google.com
The paid add-on expands the capabilities by rearranging the button selection menu items and changing the number of buttons between 4 and 10.
I found another solution, thanks.
