I'm asking because there is a software called dc-unlocker that - allegedly - can unlock the bootloader of a lot of Huawei phones:
https://www.dc-unlocker.com/supported_models_1/huawei_phones
For the Honor 6X it says as a feature "read unlock codes".
Possibility 1: Huawei has a database of IMEI number -> random hardcoded unlock code. Because dc-unlocker has that feature of showing codes this is probably not what they are doing.
Possibility 2: The unlock code is generated based on the IMEI number (possibly other parameters are required)
Possibility 3: They don't actually generate unlock codes and just unlock it with some exploit.
Does anyone know how this works? I thought it may be possibility 2.
Has anyone collected IMEI numbers with fitting unlock codes?
Maybe if we had a few we could find a pattern.
i tried retrieveing my bootloader code from Huawei web site, it still work
Sent from my vivo 1723 using Tapatalk
Maybe I will have to do that, but it sucks. Imagine if you bought a PC mainboard and then had to register an account at the vendor's website to receive a code just to be able to boot another operating system than the preinstalled one. People would want to crack that instead...
If you dont want to pay for unlocking bootloader. Then request key throught hicare live chat it will take approximately 14days
I'm not one for swearing much, but **** you, Huawei: https://www.xda-developers.com/huawei-stop-providing-bootloader-unlock-codes/
That's why it's important that for the hardware you buy you have all the knowledge in the open, how to actually control the hardware. Like the algorithm that calculates the unlock code.
I tried dc unlocker – unfortunatly it freezes
As the dc-unlocker web site and the client program seem to claim they'd be able to provide unlock code for bootloader – I downloaded the client and bought 4 credits.
After switching USB Port Settings to "Manufacture Mode" - dc unlocker client detects phone as
Found Applications port COM3
Model : Huawei HiSilicon Kirin Android phone
Click to collapse
When I change "Select Model" from "Huawei HiSilicon Kirin Android phone" to "Huawei Honor 6X" and press the detect-button again – the program freezes.
Anything I chould do about this? Anyone successfuly unlocked the honor 6x via dc-unlocker? Any other possible solutions apart from hoping Huawei coming to sence and provide the codes again?

I think, maybe "when it still worked" was meant – probably there's no "enclave" country were huawei still provides unlock codes… :/
DC-Unlocker seems to only support model "BLN-AL10" – maybe we'll be lucky in upcoming version (will ask in their forum…).
Anyone tried the services of "ministry of solutions"? They claim to support unlocking a bunch (probably all) of honor 6x models…
Any other possibilities?
dc-unlocker does not seem to work with my honor 6x – but I got refund for my credits bought.
(-> question in dc-unlocker forum)
Thinking about "ministryofsolutions" huawei bootloader unlock paid service – they claim in chat, they'd be able to provide unlock code for my BLN-L21C432B378. I don't like the thought of sharing my USB-ports via flexihub and giving access via Teamviewer– but I think the risk is not that big, if I use a fresh Windows just for that and disconnect my google account on phone and delete all personal data…
Any other suggestions or experiences?
Paid the 4$ for "ministry of solutions" – worked.
Code:
# whoami
root
# echo "yey!"
Despite Huawei saying the new policy is about reducing warranty claims for stolen data or bricked phones, occam's razor says this is to enable Big Brother's back door and prevent truly effective from keeping the phones from "going dark."
The first thing a third-party ROM user is told is that flashing voids the manufacturer's warranty. This issue is about control and surveillance, and there surely is a way to crack the bootloader code - even if the last method is brute force...

The result is same as using xda method , unless you don't need to PAY and locked your bootloader again.

Yes, it said changed.
But not clearly say their is no method to get the unlock code agian or make it unlock again.
i would say Don't use Funky Huawei do rebrand job as well
So, is there a way which doesn't change the unlock code?
Already thinking getting the P20 was a total mistake.
I converted mine to dual and am only just finding out from this post I cant have it unlocked again. Are you saying huawei wont generate a new one for you?

USE XDA method----u can use the origial code unlock again/
use funky hauwei method----u have no ideas to unlock again in this moment.
i sent them 3 emails, they didnt answer this question, i think they know their method have problem of it.
About 1 mounth ago I transform my P20 Pro from single to dual sim with FunkyHuawei method. All gone well at first time ! And my phone handles and works with both sim, also in 4G!
They said me at once that after the procedure the bootloader will be blocked again and, for now, I can't unblock it with the old Huawei Key.
So no root and no TWRP.
They say me that in the future I'll can install Recovery and root the phone with a new tool, also with blocked bootloader .
Also I must say that FunkyHuawei method it's easier that do all by hand ! But, obviously, it costs a lot !

Can you say me the model and the firmware of your phone before and after rebrand ?
Before rebrand to dual sim your phone was C432 (international version) or what ?
Which version you use to rebrand? Always C432 (international version)?
This is important to know why some version have given problem to users .

I was single sim uk version CLT-L09 C782 and i rebranded to dual CLT-L29 C782.
Hello, I just put a claim in Paypal (I encourage people to do so), based on the fact that they have not notified the terminal block, once the change from singel to dual sim and attaching the direct instructions for the use of his tool, in which he does not notice, in any case, of that circumstance.
My model was the L09 and now it's the L29 (in both the European c432 version).
My claim in Paypal is that, by not telling the buyer of the terminal block and it is impossible (according to them) to find the new code, any problem can no longer go through the Huawei Technical Service (SAT) but for them and charging one and again.
I wanted to ask you if you know if using the Huawei PC tool we would return it to the original state (with the original unlock code, which would be useful in this case), to me the Samsung utilities (kies) saved me more than once .
Thank you very much.

Just got email back from huawei theyve given me the same code as before. I have responded by asking them to generate a new one.
To the post above, they do clearly state the bootloader code will change. And if you use the xda method apparently it can still be changed etc.
Hmmm
More on the bootloader code. The first time i rebranded i rebranded to CLTL29 but used the wrong tool and didnt use the actual dual converter.
When i used the dual converter having to use my bootloader code again, it did actually work.
Maybe it was luck i dont know but i still have 5 credits and would need 2 more to rebrand to c432 they ignored my email asking if they could credit me with 2 credits as I have already spent nearly £50 and the minimum I can buy is 5.
New email from huawei saying they have requested a new bootloader code for me. Fingers crossed.
The same happened to me: Huawei gave me the same code. Could you give me the Huawei contact email? Thank you very much. And good luck with the new code.

Huawei will always provide you with the same code, based on the original IMEI.
Try booting in fastboot and use this command : fastboot oem get-psid
If it works, it should return IMEI and Serial info, compare those with the ones from the retail box. ?
Thank you very much, I will compare it, although the IMEI does not change, I do not know what it will be for but it is a step forward.
My idea, after seeing that the Hisuite applications have nothing to do with the Samsung KIes (these are a lot better and if they leave your computer the same as the first day you bought it - I can certify it with my old Samsung Galaxy S3- ), is to wait for dc-unlocker to support our terminal and then re-unlock it.
Of funkey I do not expect anything, unless you charge us everything you can in case of "disaster" of our mobile.

IMEI is not changed in the OS (About Screen), but if it's the same case as the rebrand with FH for Mate 10 Pro, then most likely that fastboot command will reveal a different IMEI.
If that's the case, then probably the only way to make the unlock code work is to restore your original oeminfo.
We've been lucky with Mate 10, because DC-Unlocker works, so we could get another unlock code for 4 €, but that doesn't work on P20.
I want to unlock the bootloader of my Huawei Y6(SCC-U21). Because I want to install a custom rom in it. But the problem is huawei just stopped giving code. I contacted them but they straightly said no. Now I want to know How can I unlock the bootloader without any code. And without giving any money. I there are third party application charges for code.
please help me thank you.
Has anyone already used the new bootloader unlock service with the p20 pro?
Link: {Mod edit}
Costs 30 dollars but if it really works its a price worth paying.
Has anyone done it already?
I just ordered, fingers crossed Says 24-48 hours code delivery time.
There is at least one guy in telegram group who successfully unlocked the bootloader with that service. Its working!
[INT] Huawei P20 Pro support chat

It's legit! Just got the code, and it worked I have the regular P20, but don't see why it shouldn't work for you too

Maybe I will try it. Is awful that you have to pay $30e to get your code for a P20 device.
$ 30 not £ 30
Just placed my order. This better work =)
Yea Marco on a telegram group has confirmed it works.
I wonder if the guy has found a legit workaround, or if he knows someone at Huawei who's willing to provide him (unofficially) with BL Unlock codes ...
Hope it's the former.

Bootloader unlock confirmed on P20 Pro (CLT-L09)
I ordered a few days before this at the cost of 50 usd/code. Unlocked a p20 and a p20 pro.
I am on 8.1.0.135. If I want to rebrand, where can I find the correct files. This is my 2nd P20 (first one went back to warranty), and I want to rebrand, but I know I must not make a downgrade when rebranding. FF is ok?
I can confirm, the service works. No my phone has the bootloader unlocked..

hi..i have huawei p20 lite sim locked to vodafone...if i root can i unlock it with some app that requires root?
i contacted vodafone and they said i have to pay 100euros to unlock, they are thiefs xd
im asking this cause a long time ago i did it with an Samsung Galaxy S2
Thank you
U have to unlock your phone first to root but u can't unlock your Huawei or Honor devices for free because Huawei has stopped giving unlock codes and all the available alternatives is going to cost some money
So there is a program called hcu client which costs 3 euros for unlocking 1 phone according to their website.Check if your device is supported in their website.
But I would recommend u to unlock or root only of u have experience or knowledge about it.
