hi..i have huawei p20 lite sim locked to vodafone...if i root can i unlock it with some app that requires root?
i contacted vodafone and they said i have to pay 100euros to unlock, they are thiefs xd
im asking this cause a long time ago i did it with an Samsung Galaxy S2

U have to unlock your phone first to root but u can't unlock your Huawei or Honor devices for free because Huawei has stopped giving unlock codes and all the available alternatives is going to cost some money
So there is a program called hcu client which costs 3 euros for unlocking 1 phone according to their website.Check if your device is supported in their website.
But I would recommend u to unlock or root only of u have experience or knowledge about it.

You can do it by generating unlock code for it with DC-unlocker service: dc-unlocker.com/generate-factory-huawei-phone-unlock-codes though service is not free and cost 4 euros.
This won't help OP, but it might help someone else looking to sim unlock the Huawei Y330. I made the following videos about how to install CWM , and root (needed to) and Sim unlock a Huawei Y330.

So I purchased my device on ebay and apparently it is a Chinese device so huawei UK can't get me an unlock code. I've tried using the chinese website, but it will not let me make a Chinese account due to my current region. Any suggestions?

Actually, since Huawei doesn't support that officially, the unlock methods are paid, as you said. I just wanted to warn you that even if you had the money to do that, those methods are sketchy, you have no guarantee of success, and the higher the price will be, the greater your chances of getting scammed will be. If you absolutely need to root your Android device, buy a new one.

You can no longer unlock the bootloader of Huawei phones as Huawei itself announced.
You need unlock key to successfully unlock your bootloader, you could have filed a request with your Huawei ID. But the due date is now long since over.
You may find some random guys with magic programs that can get Huawei unlock key, however I think they're all fake.

Huawei has officially closed the bootloader unlocking process from 25th July 2018.
You can send unlock request to Huawei. You can told them you are developer and need to unlock it. You can get unlock code from imei number and you need to give sim company name.
Hey I just found my old phone and wanted to install custom roms on it.
After a bit of reading in the internert I have seen that its very hard to unlock huawei bootloaders these days,
I found a tool called DC unlocker but it costs money to get the oem unlock code, so im asking here:
Is there a free to unlock my honors bootloader nowdays, I dont want to pay money for that.
Im also planning to install TWRP on that device and a custom rom.
