Question Who Ordered the Pixel 7A? - Google Pixel 7a

I`m curious who ordered, I ordered the Coral 7a, I love brighter color phones, and once I saw the Coral color I had to have it lol, I already have my tracking number and hopefully be delivered tomorrow.

What device are you coming from? Did you get any trade-in and what price did you pay?

I have the new Sony Xepria 1 V on preorder, which just went on Pre-order today, and I`m using the S23 Ultra right now, I just find the S23 Ultra to Bulky for daily use, I love the camera`s...... but not very pocket friendly sometimes, I have used the Pixel 6a which I love the size of that, only thing I wish it had was wireless charging, now the 7a has wireless charging and more ram from 6gb to 8gb and the Tensor 2 chip, plus the Coral color looks beautiful, I didn`t do any trade-ins, with the Coral 7A and the free Series A buds and I added the coral case 29.99 and I paid for next day shipping 20.00 , total was $581.72, but once I get the 7A tomorrow, I`m selling my s23 ultra.

Great thanks. Let us know your review when you get it. I know that initially it will take a little time to settle but give us a running total as it were.

Ive been using OP 10 Pro and Im looking to upgrade this to the Pixel 7a. Ill mostly purchase the device by today or tomorrow!

Just ordered one on Amazon - originally put in one for the coral 7A on the store but waiting 12 days for shipping is pretty stupid. I do miss the free buds and coral colour though; I should have the sea 7A by tomorrow.
Using the F3 right now, it's solid when with a ROM but power button has been acting up as of late. I'd be lying if I said I wasn't at least partly into the 7A to have the chance to rock an otterbox again lol

I would call that a 'switch', or downgrade. Certainly not upgrade.

Im kinda bored of the OnePlus 10 Pro and I dont have that budget for a Flagship Pixel device. I also want to experience the Stock Android everyone's been talking about so I thought why not?

No, just enjoy your purchase. He's a Pixel hater (for the most part) and a Google foil. Don't let him get to you. Look at his previous posts and you'll see what I'm talking about. Almost every chance he gets it's bashing Pixel/Google. I think it's going to be a great phone and well under the cost of the P8. Let us know how you like it.
One quick example but there are a ton of them. He's certainly entitled to his own opinion but it gets a little much sometimes.
Will pixel 7a be 499?
Heard lots of people talking about 499 dollars? WIl lit better than galaxy a54?

Pretty peeved with UPS. On the plus side, I have my Pixel 'A' Buds... that I don't care about. They also suggested that I update the address early today, but gave no way to do so. I'm sure it just didn't get on the truck, and this is them covering for it.
Edit:
UPS: The package doesn't have your street name or number, call the shipper
Google: Sure it does, and the most recent status is "On the way"
Great, maybe I'll get a phone... eventually. Way to harsh my vibe Google.

That sucks, yeah funny you got the Pixel A buds first, I thought they were coming in the same box as the phone, but my Pixel A buds just shipped today separate, I`ll just turn around and re-sell them anyways, I was glad to get my 7A today since I sold my S23 ultra today.

received my 7A 2 days after release. coming from an Asus Zenfone 8 that died on me with no warning. feels pretty good to go back to pixel phones!

It runs great, I haven't had any lag or stutters, I love it.... Battery is decent , I`m no power user, it`s very snappy with the 8gb ram compared to the 6gb the 6A , and love the coral color, I rooted it and using Magsik and AOSP MOD, repainter app., has wireless charging that the Pixel 6A didn`t have, I liked the pixel 7A enough , I actually sold my S23 ultra yesterday, but I do have the new Sony Xperia 1 V on preorder, in my opinion the Pixel 7A is a great buy!!
Edit: also it has face unlock, which the pixel 6A doesn`t, still has the plastic back, but doesn`t bother me.

128gb Sold Out?

wow that's QUICK
If you see a 128GB or other model out of stock, you should sign up for the waitlist. That's how I got my preorder for a Pixel 128GB Quite Black.
I just preordered a Pixel 128GB quite black as well. Too bad the wait time for delivery is over a month
I'm glad there is a wait. I already have the Samsung s7 a. D I like the small form factor of this phone. I'm sure the pixel will fit well in the hand. I need for the camera and battery life to be on par with the S7. Waiting allows all the reviews to be done. If there good I'll keep my order, if not I'll cancel the order.
I'm hoping for the price the phone it will at least be on par with the iPhone 7. Can't wait to see.

Yeah, that is definitely a good mindset. My Nexus 6P is great, but I'm kinda disappointed that they dropped the Nexus line (I assume no future updates aside from flashing).
I just pre-ordered to be able to get it early and if the reviews don't match the hype, I figured it'd be easy to return. I was really debating to get the XL for the battery size, but I figured that software and hardware as a "Google" phone would be optimized since Google controls the process so I chose the smaller form factor. I like the smaller form factor as well, especially since the specs are primarily the same. Just worried about battery life but I guess that should be answered shortly when customers starting receiving their phone.
Ideally, I would have it early so I can sell my Nexus 6P before it's depreciation hits rock bottom.
Since the wait time is like a month on shipping, I have s question. If I out an order thru Google store, and let's say in two weeks I can find something to be shipped quicker, can I cancel that one with no hassle before it got shipped? Do you actually prepay, or they will charge only when it is shipped?
They only charge you when they process the order. When you purchase it says preorder (status of orders, are preorder, processing ,shipped, delivered).
Right before your order is ready to ship they process and charge your card. I'm not sure how to cancelling works when the order changes status but it's fairly easy to cancel when it still preorder status

Just sold mine(8/256) on Swappa for, I thing , very reasonable price - my backup is moto X4 and now I have a clear view on what's coming up for 2019.
Depends on your budget and if your patient. Personally at this point I would wait for the 7. But personally I still love my 6. Seems to get better with time
I don't see why not. Manufacturers aren't making huge advances these days in mobile tech as far as performance. It's all about gadget features now. Well start seeing cool folding tech this year, but I don't well see anything at all that is going to severely out perform what we have. I won't go and pay big bucks any time soon for anything else unless it's foldable.

Definitely, OP6 is a great phone. I realized that I could still describe my phone's condition as "mint", no blemishes whatsoever and so it went.
As for OP7, it could be another big hit for OP and not just because of the new 855 SoC, but it might also have a new UFS 3.0 storage as the rumor goes:
https://bgr.com/2019/01/07/oneplus-7-vs-galaxy-s10-speed-ufs-3-0-benchmark-leaked/
Great phone. Best phone I have ever owned. I hope to get at least two years out of it. Maybe upgrade when 5g is widespread.
Sent from my ONEPLUS A6003 using Tapatalk
If theres a nice discount and you don't care about the headphone jack (OP7 may not have it) then it'll still be a great buy. I'm planning to use this phone until the battery dies out on me or some other kind of failure if any.
I got mine couple months ago and would buy again. Headphone jack and hardware fingerprint scanner are great to have.
Just bought one. Very good deals at the moment and like has been mentioned, 5g is on it's way.
Best phone I have had so far.
Got mine in November, no regrets at all.
Check out Gearbest, purchased it for around 360$ brand new, it came with OxygenOS out of the box, but if it doesn't, rebranding is easy as just it just requires the installation of the ROM via the system updater !
for around 400$ is a great deal. (8/128).

Serious Question...

I'm really on the fence about ordering a OnePlus 7 Pro. I have a 512gb Note9 with an encrypted bootloader now and I'm bored out of my freaking mind.
I've been watching Swappa closely, just to see what is trending. I actually started watching Swappa for a deal on a Pixel 3XL and kinda ended up in the OnePlus 7 Pro section too. If I order a Oneplus 7 Pro I will get it direct from OnePlus just for warranty peace of mind.
But I see a disturbing trend of all the OnePlus 7 Pro's going up for sale rather quickly. Pretty common to see "only used for 2 days" or even "used once or twice" and then boxed back up promptly for resale..... WHY?
Why is everybody using this device once or twice and then immediately trying to sell if off? Got me pretty concerned about making a $782.19 purchase. It was a lot easier to stomach when a OnePlus was only $500.
Why don't you ask them? There could be many reasons. I'm very happy with mine, I would have no idea why someone else isn't.
I guess the best you can do is watch some YouTube reviews, read about common issues and concerns,I don't use swappa but maybe you could message a seller there and ask,
Id imagine people just find the phone too big, don't like the curved display, most likely something to do with the design I'd say.

I try not to spam their listing with questions when I have no intention of actually purchasing the item. I also couldn't expect them to answer candidly on the same page they are tying to recoup $700 on.
Whenever possible I follow their XDA names/links and send a PM asking. No responses so far. I did see one guy state he was selling because he was just to "entrenched in the Apple Ecosystem" but if he was going to keep an Android the OnePlus 7 Pro is "the phone to have". Then an hour later he purchased a Pixel 3XL in another listing I was also watching. :silly:
Pretty stupid on their part. They just return the phone in the first 14 days and not lose $250 from the resale cost. I have patience for stupidity.

I've been watching YouTube videos and reviews and unboxings and scouring the internet pretty much nonstop since the release. I'm not worried about ghost touches as I never use NFC. Size, weight and curved edges are all the bees knees to me. I'm an HTC Max user from way back and always buy the biggest screen available in any line.
The only real deal breaker problem I could see is if the camera produced literally unusable pictures. I take LOTS of pictures daily. They don't have to be better than the Samsung's or the Pixels (I've had both). But they do need to be worth keeping. I'm afraid the only way I will be able to answer that question is to see for myself in person ie order one.
I will say I am pretty picky about the color though. I don't really care for the Nebula Blue much but I REALLY want that 12GB ram...

Due to the number of people who have tried unlocks, etc and had issues I would be, at least, looking for photos or video of the device working before you stump over the cash but yeah, it's a great phone so watch some reviews and if you like what you see, go for it
The 12gb ram model was the one OnePlus sent out as review units/influencers/promoters. They could just be u loading. Also people buy phones without checking compatibility, maybe not for their carrier. If not on T-Mobile there's always some issue, i.e. Sprint not working at all, att not WiFi calling, Verizon cdma_less issues. Could be any number of issues but don't let that worry you. Same thing happens with every phone that is released. I personally sold my s10e after 3 days just because, there was no "I need to keep tilhis phone" feeling. My op7 pro gives me that feeling , it's one of the best phones I've ever used, and I replaced my pixel 3 xl with it.

None at all. Pixel 3xl performance is garbage. Hiccups, stuttering was terribly annoying. Only good things were camera and software day 1. I'm like those swappa sellers you're skeptical about, I change my phone monthly sometimes. In 4 years I've made 90 sales, 60 were my personal use device. The longest I've kept a phone was OnePlus 6 for 6 months. Ill never fo back to iOS, and in Android world OnePlus is my favorite. I don't use camera just for pics of the kids. I NEVER take selfies.
I ended up with the 8gb blue direct from oneplus. I wanted the 12gb but it was 14 days until shipping and couldn't wait. I got the T-Mobile gray on lau ch day but hated the software/sim lock/ single sim, but the 12gb would have gotten here after my return period was up with T-Mobile. Still no regrets, I don't think it would have bee. Any big change in performance. I'm still surprised to how many apps are still where I left them even several hours later.

Just do it. My sequence was Pixel 3XL > S10+> OnePlus 7 pro
I just gave one UI other chance as you see, but stock Android and OOS(near stock) are way better, especially together with a hardware top of the line (OnePlus 7pro).

I completely agree about the Pixel 3 XL performance, complete garbage. At the time I had the Pixel 3 XL, T-Mobile OnePlus 6t, and unlocked OnePlus 6t from OnePlus. I sold the Pixel. The only thing that phone has going for it was the camera, and like you said day one software updates, but the performance is horrible on that phone.

They only do that in the US... frustrating yeah but 15% of the most expensive phone at $750 is just $112 so I still ask, why sell it on swappa and take a $200 hit? I think you said he was selling for $500? Doesn't make much sense to me, he'd still get more money back just returning it.

Your going to have to cover either phone. They are WAY too slippery to really use naked. I used to use my phones naked (I've never dropped a phone) but I don't trust these phones sine teh OP5 and OP6 and not OP 7Pro.
I've always had black or grey phones but the blue is amazing. I agree it is so slippery being olephobic gorilla glass. I hate to cover it. It like a minimal perimeter case.
Sent from my GM1917 using Tapatalk
I got the blue one
Why not use the included case? It's a perfect fit and doesn't cover up the beautiful back or the light around the edge. I've always put a case on my phones and have never cracked or broken a phone in any way. This bad boy is slippery and I have no problem or issue using the clear case!!

I got the blue one from T-mobile, I always get blue if it's available for the phone I am interested in since it's my favorite color. I too sometimes switch phones monthly which I have the option of doing if I want since I am a Jump On Demand customer with T-Mobile and have that option. Longest I have kept a phone in the last year is almost 2.5 months.
I switched from the Note 9. 90hz screen made it a keeper for me. Camera is not bad as some ppl make it seem but of course the Note 9 camera is better. Haptic feedback is also better but still not on the same level like on the iPhone and Pixel yet. I've also bought the Nillkin Type C Wireless Charging USB C Receiver for wireless charging and Elevation Lab USB-C CordDock as a secondary even though honestly I really didn't need to purchase that as the wireless reciever works. Battery is the same as on the Note 9. The only thing I miss is one handed mode. Stock android and or Oxygen OS should really develop a one handed mode since these phones are getting larger each year.

Who is getting one?

Not much hype around here yet but I'm getting excited. I've been strictly OnePlus 8 pro for the last 2 months or so and am ready to move on. I hope this is a worthwhile upgrade fror my Note 10 Plus or I'll hold out for the fold 2 this year. The next pixel is a no go with the slower processor and I'm sure they haven't improved storage capacity either. Such a shame.
As long as they offer solid trade in value for my Note 10+ I'm getting it.
I am expecting (hoping) for at least $600 in trade for my S20 Ultra. Assuming that happens, I will be buying a new Note 20 Ultra - Pre-Order and can't wait.
In all honesty, the bugs that the S20 Ultra Camera had (focus) are pretty much behind me now and the the S20 Ultra has been an awesome phone - but based on what I hear and have read, the new Note 20 Ultra will be a decent upgrade. Looking forward to seeing the Roll Out -
Nah, I'm getting Pixel 4a this time around to be my daily runner and I'll keep my N10+ for heavier tasks until the Note gets integrated 5G system so, probably 'til 2021/22.
Right now 5G is still not much relevant in my area, why pay more for unneeded hardware? I'm very happy now with Note 10+, after that annoying hit-or-miss fp sensor problem got resolved. Ironically, that problem wasn't fixed by Samsung but rather by inquisitive user – kudos to him/her.
Actually am getting very excited about that Pixel 4a, it has all the goodies I need and for only $350, like NFC, headphones jack and also Titan M Security Module, good camera/processing etc. A good pocket phone, something I really miss since I've had S10e before N10+. Similar overall size to 10e, plastic is fine with me for a pocket phone.
As long as I keep it in front, not the back pocket)

I was given $700 off for my Note 10+ when it was traded for the S20 Ultra so it seems a fair value again given the cost of the device.

Forgot about this one. I heard it may only pack the Snapdragon 855. Can't rememeber who said that. It's on my list for sure.

I've heard about the Duo getting the 855 too (MAYBE the "+"?) either way, IMO MOST people would be really hard pressed to be able to tell a difference between the 2, if they aren't sitting in a side by side comparison. I think the biggest difference that will absolutely be noticeable, is the 120hz display on the N20U. I'm really looking forward to seeing that.
I think the Duo is an amazing concept that gets away from the form factor that is not really changing too much any longer. It's a refreshing change in direction and isn't a Galaxy Fold
Edit - Some rumors are saying that the device may ship with the 865
I'm getting one. But what about all these half/value tradein offers? Are any of those worth it rather than buying up front? I got burned by diminishing value on Samsung products years ago but they seem to hold value pretty well now.
I was really hoping the Note Ultra would fix what the S20 Ultra couldn't, being able to use WQHD+ with 120hz. Thats really a let down and kinda makes me want to skip this year.
Just pre-ordered Unlocked White 128GB Ultra
I was on a Note 9 and am a Veteran. I just preordered the Copper rather than the glossy Black. Samsung offered a $550 trade in on the Note 9 plus $200 in freebie accessories . I'll get the new buds and a case. It was too good for me to pass up. I just hope it isn't a dud like the Note 7.

I signed up for the Pre-order but the guy said that we won't be able to actually buy the "pre-order" until tomorrow (and the Note 20 should arrive by 8-21)
Did you actually buy the pre-order? Can I ask where? Just curious.....
Thanks
Also reserved the white 128gb Note 20 Ultra and trade in my blue Note 10+. I wish Samsung has the 512 options in white color, oh well.

You arent actually buying anything, you dont enter any credit card info. This simply adds you to an email chain for tomorrows pre-order.
I put my preorder in for the White 128 but I may be hard pressed to make it my DD. I LOVE face unlock on my Pixel 4 XL and all the other Googly things that come with the Pixel phone. My Note 10+ got very little time with the SIM card in it after I bought the Pixel last fall. I do like the larger canvas of the Note, maybe the latest rumors are true and Google might release a large screen premium phone later in the year?

Where to buy (In US) : Another way to Order : Most People don't know this

Hi All,
Sorry for not posting this earlier and i feel this deserves a thread of its own.
Recently after my buying experience on various different portals, Bestbuy, B&H, Samsung website and T-Mobile US, where most places were out of stock or taking too long to deliver ( I wanted an Ultra 512 GB version), I discovered that Microsoft offered the best buying experience. I am speaking only for Note 20 / Note 20 Ultra buying experince for other things BestBuy etc may be good.
Here is the link: https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/p/s...cked/8x2r1c53kbms?activetab=pivot:overviewtab
Or to configure directly go here: https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/sto...s&selectedColor=9A716E&preview=&previewModes=
I had ordered mine and and received it rather quickly (4 Days, due to labor day weekend) and when Samsung reduced the price they even refunded me.
Hope this helps anyone who is as impatient as me.
Enjoy.

Cool, thanks. I'm still not sure if I want a phone I can't root. I cancelled my back order with tmobile until I can make up my mind, lol.
You can do the same up here in Canada as well, fast delivery and availability!
yeah I ordered mine from BHphoto and no delivery time, I ordered the 512gb Note 20 ultra and it was on sale for 1249.00, plus taxes and shipping.

Yup i saw that option too. Cancel your order while you can and you can buy the same from Microsoft for the same price also Microsoft has a device trade in program too so you can see if you are getting anything back for your old device.

yeah when I went to the Microsoft website and selected the 512gb unlocked Note 20 ultra it gives me no option for a trade in, I plan on keeping my Note 10 plus 5g as back up phone anyways.

I did find the trade in, but you have to already purchased and have your new Note 20 in your hands to even start a trade in, because it asks for the new IMEI# of your Note 20 ultra and u have to put that in to even start the trade in, to me is kind dumb lol

Interesting. I definitely have questions about that so I might download the app and see if they are answered there. Don't really want to join telegram. Not sure how I feel about root that's not open for community use regardless of what it costs.

I agree. i guess there are plenty people who exploit loopholes like send in a device and then not by anything. Trade ins rely a lot on what device you are buying. Other way people can exploit is click trade in get discount and never send the old device. There is always a way around let them choose trade in during buying process and refund after they receive the trade in device but them being them what can i say.
FYI - for Note 8 they are giving $250 back, so Note 9 and 10 must be higher than that.

I was responding to the Canadian who suggested it was a good option for us - but the Microsoft Canada site has them at full price ($1819 CDN = $1381 US) for the 128 GB N20 Ultra - whereas we can get the HK SM-N9680 (dual-SIM, 256 GB) for $1350 CDN (= $1025 US). The Microsoft site seems like a good option for you if you want the North American single-SIM 128 GB model.
I just placed an order with amazon. They have them in stock and it'll be here in 2 days. Hopefully all goes well.

Congrats on deciding to take the leap. I am sending mine back. I was noticing yellow tints so i reduced the color temperature from the display settings but today i decided to compare my Note 8 and Note 20 Ultra boy o boy that 3 year old phone has a better display. On comparison i found green tint on my Note 20 Ultra. I suggest you do the same when you receive your phone to to compare it side by side with another display. i also noticed Note 20 Ultra to lack in Sharpness and Contrast (I am sure and its not a placebo). Both the phones were on WQHD resolution and i checked them on full, mid, lowest and auto brightness.
Check yours when you get it.

Hopefully that's not with all of them. I do remember back in the galaxy 8 days there was a pink tint issue that was addressed with an update. I gave my one plus 7 pro to a coworker who's phone broke and I miss it. It's been why I was holding out on the note 20 ultra. I wanted to see what the 8T Pro was going to be but it looks like there will be no 8T Pro. If this one doesn't pan out it will definitely be back to OnePlus for the 8 Pro or 8T.
EDIT: it arrived yesterday in new unopened condition from amazon. So far it works perfectly and I can't notice any off tones in the screen. The screen looks great. I installed an LK flexible film screen protector (same as I had on oneplus 7 pro) and you can even tell it's there. Now to wait for the correct case to come in as I accidentally ordered one for the note 20 and not the ultra after sifting through the possibilities.
