Do P-Oled screens look pixelated in some scenarios? - General Questions and Answers

On my Motorola G52, I see pixelated screen on the top ~75%. The bottom ~25% looks alright:
{
"lightbox_close": "Close",
"lightbox_next": "Next",
"lightbox_previous": "Previous",
"lightbox_error": "The requested content cannot be loaded. Please try again later.",

"lightbox_download": "Download",
"lightbox_share": "Share",
"lightbox_zoom": "Zoom",
"lightbox_new_window": "New window",
"lightbox_toggle_sidebar": "Toggle sidebar"
}
I don't have this problem on any of my other phones. All have the same version of Nova Launcher.
This is not a display problem because a problem with the display will NOT show up in a screenshot. Also, I see this only on the Homescreen. This sort of pixelation isn't seen anywhere else on the same device.
Is this because the Moto G52 uses a P-Oled display?

Do you see this on your phone? I have a plain black wallpaper.

My homescreen looks fine too.
How does it look when you long press on the Homescreen to brings up the Settings/ Widget option (as shown in my screenshot)?
Also, how does it look when you open a folder on homescreen (Immersive Mode, Card Background ENABLED)?

Any ideas why my screen looks like that?
Also, I don't see the option to change system theme colour. Currently, it is Cyan. I can't find the option to change it now.

As far as I can remember, the Cyan colour was one that I chose. Not sure where that Setting disappeared. I guess I may have disabled the Theming app.

Turns out that the problem was with the wallpaper I was using. Changing the wallpaper was all that was required.

As noted above, there is nothing wrong with the phone or p-oled screens. In my case, the issue was with the wallpaper. I changed it to another black wallpaper and this kind of a pattern isn't visible. See my post before yours.

Hi,
Yes, it does but you'll need to turn on your device logcat in the recovery.
I don't have the device myself so I can't direct you with the menus.

Wallpaperize & WallpaperizeFree

Here i am!
Again!
I am glad to introduce you my last application called WALLPAPERIZE.
Wallpaperize is now stable but i want to add features in future, actually it does a very simple thing: it sets wallpaper for you.
Where is the news?
Let me explain...
I am not used to keep scrolling wallpaper, i hate it, so i have ever wanted to set an image as wallpaper but usual methods relay on cropping wallpaper for horizontal and vertical scrolling.
I do not need that, i need an app that brings an image and put it as wallpaper, nocrop no frill.
Wizardii is doing that but i can not understand the odd interface and also the bizzar behavior, so here it is WALLPAPERIZE.
Actually Wallpaperize has some limitations (that i will implement very soon):
- only landscape wllpaper
- can not tile in case of that image is smaller then screen dimensions
Wallpaperize comes in two flavors:
WALLPAPERIZEFREE - Free
{
"lightbox_close": "Close",
"lightbox_next": "Next",

"lightbox_download": "Download",
"lightbox_share": "Share",
"lightbox_zoom": "Zoom",
"lightbox_new_window": "New window",
"lightbox_toggle_sidebar": "Toggle sidebar"
}
WALLPAPERIZE- Paid version (IF YOU LIKE IT PLEASE THINK TO DONATE, IT WILL SUPPORT MY EFFORT E IT WILL ALLOW ME TO CONTINUE TO DEVELOP)
Both versions have and will have the same fucntionality.
This is my first paid application after UPD8R and SWAT, I hope that someone will help me with this latest project in order to continue to develop also FREE applications.

P.S.: it would be very polite that someone of you left some comment here or on play store, please...

Not in this Rom, but i used Gallery and Quickpick to set the wallpaper.
Seems I got same result as the other users. Wallpaper is displaced towards the top of the screen, leaving the bottom black (without image). I'm on 4.0.3/4 with stock launcher.
Any clue why is the app behaving like this?

That is more odd then previews posts... currently i have no clue and no idea why wallpaper is not displayed correctly.
In theory chosen image is rezized to screen size (1280x768, visible area) and then plotted inside a black (in your case) rectangle with virtual desktop dimension size (1500x1280, if i am not wrong).
Virtual desktop is what you see if you keep scrolling wallpaper mode.
Above dimensions are not hard-coded but requested to the system, so i can't explain that effect.
Could i send you a test version trying to log what happens?

[Q] Strange display size in [CM10.1 AOSP 4.2.1 Jellybean]

Hi all, I'm new in this forum...but i follow it from a long time.
Now, I've a question about last "CM10.1 AOSP 4.2.1 Jellybean"; as you can se in the attached image I have some problem in the display size of my Sensation.
It leaves too much span on the top and on the bottom of icon's space, and I don't know how to solve this problem (for example you can see that the play music widget is cut in the lower part).
Thanks a lot.

Ok, I've tried this way...but unfortunately not works!
From the First post in the CM0.1 thread, near the bottom:
If your homescreen doesnt look right (icons not layed out right) go to System Settings>Launcher>homescreen click Stretch screens. Then choose grid size and set row
This fixed it for me.

I've used Go Louncher but it makes the phone a bit slowlier.
The only reason of my question is that in the rom's screenshots the icons' position is correct.
Try Nova Launcher
Settings > Launcher > Homescreens

Press and hold the widgets to resize them.
It is possible to allocate more area to the widget.
This is just how the launcher works; if you don't like it, you should switch to a different one.
It's not fair to ask the developer to recode the app just because it doesn't work well for you.

found a workaround for this, using multipicture live wallpaper from the playstore you can setup multiple images to the be shown on the lock screen however it wont change everytime you start the screen it will change as per time set. Still better than nothing.
For multi wallpaper pls check my thread>https://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-s8/themes/root-multiwallpaper-lockscreen-t3638406
We Can find multiple wallpaper in the Samsung theme store. So it's possible !
Maybe only with the theme developper kit...
Any idea ?
If you use Nova Launcher, or anything that can create activities, then you can still use the native Samsung multiple lock screen wallpaper selector app. Find the 'My Interests' app in whatever app you use to see activities, and it has the 'Multiple images' activity for '.ui.KeyguardPhotoSlideMainActivity'. ?

I was unable to find "My Interests" but here is how I managed it.
With Nova installed press and hold on a blank icon space to add a widget as normal. Choose Activities from the Nova section.
Find Keyguard Wallpaper Updator and twirl it down and select Multiple Images. This will add an icon to your home screen that will open the hidden multiple wallpaper chooser.

Same problem here on A8plus 2018

[Tutorial][8.0+] How to Install Good Lock 2018

Hi
If you're a XDA's regular visitor, you have already known that Samsung released GOOD LOCK app again and this time for OREO only. If not, head over to the XDA feature portal here:
Samsung is bringing back Good Lock, the UI customization app
https://www.xda-developers.com/samsung-bringing-back-good-lock/As it is stated in post this release is region specific only. Luckily I've figured out a way by which every Oreo Samsung user can install and use this to modify some system UI tweaks. So let's start.
Download the .zip file from here, extract it and install all apps one by one. Some apps(edge lightning etc) show icons on launcher. Open them and go through them you'll learn how to use them to tweaks SystemUI.
For apps that don't show icons, Download and install Activity Manager app from Play Store.
Now Launch it and search for the apps you installed along with good lock like quickstar, lockstar task changer etc
Upon finding app, just lauch 1st activity and you'll be brought right to that app's setting page.
Modify it as you like and you're done.

I tried every single possible thing so far that I could come up with, but I got no results. It's a bit sad though, the apk is so great that it would be a shame to lose it!

As I said I can't select any apps
Because there is no plus symbol
And also no clock is shown on the Lockscreen
In the settings you can see the clock
Cool
I was able to install Good Lock through The Galaxy App store. The apps work as they should, no issues.
Thanks !

Im also having the same issue. Whats weird is I also tried the same app I installed to my colleague's S8 and it works fine. Only thing I can think of is the dpi since thats the only thing I changed

I can confirm it's the dpi. Reverting it back to 360 makes Lockstar work again.
Sad, won't keep my phone at a crap dpi just for a lockscreen!
