Question Slow charging using usb a to usb c cable on laptop usb 3.0 port - Samsung Galaxy S22 Ultra

I have this usb a to usb c cable that comes with my buds 2 and whenever i try to use the cable to charge my phone by connecting it to my laptop, the charging speed is always way slower compared to when i use a usb c to c cable connected to my laptop.
is this normal or is something wrong with maybe the cable or the device being used?
*the laptop im using is a legion 5 (2021) and the port im using is the usb a 3.1 gen 1 port

Most USB A cables do not support Power Delivery (PD). You need a type C to C cable.

Just like @TheMystic said, not all USB-A to C supports PD. Furthermore, not all USB-C to C supports PD.

Charging while connected

Hi,
I want to connect my NotePro to an external hard drive while charging it.
Do anyone knows how to do that?

Unfortunately, this product actually does not allow the OP's device to simultaneously charge and act as the USB host device. The DECEC product has a switch for toggling between its two functions:
1. OTG Host Mode:Allows the OP's device to connect to USB peripheral (slave) devices and power them. This mode will also charge peripheral devices.2. Data Cable (Charge) Mode:Allows the OP's device to charge via an external power supply or via another USB host device (i.e., laptop).
Read the Q&A for this device on Amazon (go to Amazon and search for "Micro USB Male To USB Female Host OTG Cable + USB Power Cable Y Splitter"). The Q&A indicates that users have been able to use it for simultaneously charging a Nexus 7 and having the Nexus 7 act as a USB host device. One user mentioned that a custom kernel is needed to unlock this capability of the Nexus 7. They also recommended that a powered USB hub be used to ensure that the USB peripheral devices don't draw more power than the Nexus 7 can supply.

This adapter LIMITS THE CURRENT TO 1000mA as opposed to 1800mA using the 2.1A Samsung charger for TAB S 10.5. Presumably this would be the same for the Note 5 which comes with the higher capacity charger as well..

[Q] usb otg aca (otg + charging)

Does the Note 4 support ACA (Accessory Charging Adapter) to be able to charge the phone at the same time as using a usb OTG adapter?
I want to be able to use a USB DAC and charge the phone at the same time. Is this possible?
It's a very good question. I am curious about it as well.
I have 2 pieces OTG "Y" cable. 1 of them can to charge my phone but the phone can not recognize the usb flash drive. The other can not charge the phone but the phone can recognize the usb flash drive. I need a mixed cable from this 2 )
I need a quality OTG cable, any recommendations?

Do OTG cables work?

I've got an existing OTG cable with micro USB. Does that work for things like thumb drives and mice using the adapter?
If not, would this work?

thanks..
It comes with a USB-C to USB-A adapter in the box. You should be able to plug your thumb drive or mouse into that.

I don't know why they would get rid of something as old as OTG support so I'm assuming that yes it will work.
yes otg works and the samsung smart switch lets you plug one phone into the other and transfer data
Just reading through the AT&T manual: it states clearly that OTG will not work through the supplied USB connector (p9). Nor can you use it to charge the Note 7 from a computer (p12).
With built-in battery too - hope the Note 7 isn't just another pretty fetish.

Well all of the above work on my T-Mobile variant.
On my t-mobile Note 7, I cannot get my Dragonfly Red to work via USB OTG.

It is a DAC/Preamp. So you use the included microUSB to USB C adapter for your OTG cable?
Yup

idk but all my jump drives work just fine, same as my s7 edge.
just plug them into the usb c otg and tranfer files via samsung file app
Ok. I just realized that there is an otg usb to usb c adapter in the box. That one actually works just fine with my external dac.

I can't get my Oppo HA-2 DAC to work at all. I tried using the included adapters but nothing. I went and bought a USB - USB C cable and that also didn't work. The only way I have been able to get audio is to use a standard charging cable (USB - MicroUSB) and put the USB C adapter on the MicroUSB end. However this charges the Oppo from the Note 7 and I can't disable that. Will burn through the battery in no time! Not sure what else to try at this stage
+1 I have successfully used a SanDisk 8gb flash drive with an aftermarket Rankle usb adapter. I have an AT&T Note 7.
Cheers

I use the included USB-USB C adapter with a USB -USB Mini(?) and my Fiio Alpen. As you mentioned, the Note7 charges the DAC. This also happened with my Note4. You should be able to use a wireless charging pad to charge the Note7 at the same time. That's what I did when I was transferring files between phones. It's transportable but not very mobile.
My little micro usb fan does NOT work with the included usb 3 to microusb connector. So, i'm gonna assume OTG doesnt work as it used to.

USB C Stick

I was looking for a usb c dual to use simply with the pixel c and my computer instead of attach the hub adapter.

USB C to USB 2.0 adapter

Will need a USB C to USB 2.0 adapter, otherwise all my portable battery charger or even not able to transfer picture or music from PC
anyone recommend?
Whether Android have certified cable issue? or as any USB cable that can connect the phone to computer will be fine?
thx
Buy decent brand (eg anker, aukey etc). They also do c-a converter plugs.
