Clearing cache and data of play store and google play services and then rebooting the device. Pb not solved...

And select automatic updates with any network?

Of course... It's the 1st thing I did.

on my phone, automatic updates only happen a few weeks after they're released.

I hadn't waited for so long...
Usually, apps updates that are in the waiting list should update as soons as your device is in charge...

Maybe because I have a charge limit of 98 percent.

On my 12 pro, I do it manually, on the other hand on my daughter's Xiaomi 11 t pro A13, the setting is on "automatic update with all networks" and it doesn't work.

Yes, it isn't a big deal to do it manually, I can live with this. However, I'm curious and I would like to understand why it doesn't work.

Yep, I get the update notification then I do it.
My 2 phones have Xiaomi Eu rom, I don't know if it's the same with a Stock.

Step counting on auto, how to turn off?

I was hiking the slot canyon in Anza yesterday and when I finally got back to a restaurant, I realized the phone , which I'd never enabled anything in particular on, had counted all my steps and several other things.
Does anyone know how to disable step counting on emui 5? I've done all the obvious things, like "disable step counting". Thanks. I don't care how many steps I've taken, only that I arrived.
Also: I meant to mention this but forgot. The camera works great for me, but that isn't good enough for the Honor 8. After I've taken some pictures, about 3 hours later, it always pops up a notification that says "I've finished enhancing your picture of _____" . What if I don't want an enhanced picture? Is there a way to turn off all this irritating crap? Thanks again.

If you are referring to the step count being displayed on the lock screen then you disable it through the screen lock settings. Otherwise, I believe it's in the Health App itself.
Not sure about the photo enhancing. Never seen that one before.
What app do tell you about step counting.
Plus, clear data and cache of the camera app and see if the pop-up is still present
I didn't even know that the Honor 8 had a built in step counter app in it's software.

Well, I forgot the name, it was the Health app (HiHealth or something). Try to find it and open it, you will find all your steps and lots of other information about your "health".

But I have the chinese version of the Honor, so maybe some apps are differents ?

The only fitness app I can find is called "google fit". I've disabled it. However, the steps are still there after disabling them on the lock screen & disabling the fit app, so I think it may be a bug or else there is another counter that just keep going. It's not that bad and it doesn't eat up any noticeable energy.

I just realized I had an app called "Health" and disabled it, and now it is gone from the lock screen. The lock screen setup doesn't work for turning off steps (or not showing them). The app was located in the /system/app folder as hw-health-midware.apk

Probably doesn't matter what my frd-l04 came with that I bought from newegg that I use on ATT. It matters more that I updated to Nougat and that's the beta which had the health app in it. On marshmallow, I never had the step counter or the health app.

I probably just don't recall it from Marshmallow since I updated the first day I got it. The good news is that it's called "healthd" and can be disabled and deleted as can all their crapware if desired. I just did that and I'm not rooted yet.

Oreo Stable Update Out!

After so much rambling the Oreo update is finally out. Xiaomi fulfilled their promise. ? If you haven't got the update yet, clear the data of Google Service Framework. ??

You'll have to force close first then clear data. Then try 4-5 times for update, you'll get it

My method. Force close. Clear Data. Turn on USA VPN. Get the update in 1 try. Currently installing it. Hope it is not a country specific release.

The update was pulled due to a game booster issue which caused games to appear as a black screen. I'm sure they will fix it and re-release the update soon.

Damn... Is it working now? Any fix you found? My game booster isn't working like most people who updated, but at least the games are working after reseting Game booster.
I uninstalled the updates on YouTube and my WiFi started working. I then went on YouTube and updated it. All is good again. Phone appears to work much better and battery life is improved ?
Anyone have the OTA file?
Bueller? This HAS to be out there somewhere for U.S. users for RP1....??
My Camera APP crashes all the time now after the update. What Gives??? Is this purely a 9 thing or did Razer fix the Game Booster, and break the Camera APP???

Update downloads then almost instantly goes to "Installation Failed". Currently on 8.1 MR2 factory image. Phone is not rooted, firewalled, or anything and there is plenty of space left on the device. Razer support is scratching their heads for the past week.

3rd update 132 just arrived!

This is why I prefer the Chinese version. Excellent. I'll post my thoughts.
And I'll see if this affects Google and closes the new method of installing it. Or better, allows a simple Google play store install now that Trump might be easing up on the ban
Global version is releasing new build upon launch by end of the month. So I think they are about the same

I'm not complaining
Still on .125 patch3 on my LIO-AL00 imported from China - are you guys doing anything differently to get the .132 update such as using a VPN? I've tried that and using HiSuite but it still says no available updates.

Google play not certified anymore since latest update

Since the latest 9.1.0.252 patch4 update I lost Google play certification. Didn't notice it first until I wanted to update my Netflix app and play store said that my device isn't compatible anymore.

Do you really have Patch04 - for me, Patch03 was latest (Mate 9, 9.1.0.252)
Yes, I have. Went straight to patch 4, never received 1,2 or 3. I'm on C636 though.
But that isn't exactly the point, problem is that the Google play certification is gone

Maybe then I really need to try a factory reset. Would prefer to not do that because reinstalling and setting up 200+ apps takes a lot of time

I'm amazed by my battery life. I bought my phone in March 2017 and stayed for 2 full years on Nougat without upgrading. Battery life slowly degraded a little bit in that time. Then I upgraded from 7.0 all the way to 9.0 and battery life improved significantly.
Now my phone is nearly 3 years old and I still have nearly 7 hours of screen on time on one full charge.
I'm not using any kind of battery saver app, not even the build in one and I have 298 apps installed with around 50 of them excluded from automatic power saving by system.
How is your battery life?
