First Time Install
1. Reboot to Fastboot
2. Download your desired recovery for your device [Recommended Evolution X boot.img] boot_QPR3.img
3. Download vendor_boot.img vendor_boot_QPR3.img
4. Flash boot.img and vendor_boot.img and make sure you're on latest A13 firmware.
5. FORMAT data. (Requires full backup of internal storage)
6. Reboot into recovery.
7. Apply update > Apply from ADB [IF using Evolution X boot.img]
8. Flash the ROM (adb sideload rom.zip) [IF using Evolution X boot.img]
9. Reboot to System and #KeepEvolving
10. Don't restore DEVICE SETTINGS during Setup Wizard.[/SIZE]
Update / Dirty Flash
1. Reboot to Recovery
2. Download the update for your device
3. Flash the ROM
4. Reboot to System and #KeepEvolving

A month ago I tried an unofficial evox build and noticed a small problem in recent apps. I'll try to explain it, sorry for my English.
1. launch Setting app
2. go to Network and Internet
2. swipe to home
3. swipe to recents app
4. launch Setting app
5. swipe to back in Setting app
6. quickly swipe to recents app
7. now you have wrong preview of Setting app in recents app
I had this problem on custom roms (unofficial evox, crdroid 8.14.) even when step 6 was done slowly. So i think the problem is custom launcher.
Now I'm on LOS 20, where this problem only occurs if step 6 is done quickly, the same problem was on the stock rom.
Can anyone check if this problem is also here? Thanks.
Edit: I know I can't describe it, so I attach a gif. The application Setting is only an example, the problem is with every application.

Had it on a 7.6.1 unofficial build, i'm on a 7.8 unofficial build right now and I don't have this issue :/
You can just disable it, it's not really system critical, it controls the high brightness mode (added to pixels in a QPR in 2019 or 2020 I think). I just straight up uninstalled it via ADB and it hadn't caused any problems or changed anything really...

Try disabling any styles you might have applied on QS via The Evolver. I don't have any noticeable lag with no styles applied

PE+ is more stable and less customize but i have Cts fail issue when root with magisk on the lastest build . I was use Safety net fix but it not working. EvoX working good with magisk 26.1.
Should we flash vendor_boot and boot one after another?, Or alone Vendor_boot is fine?
How we supposed to flash a customer recovery when there is not one for Android 13

Yes, that was intended. Not all features have been added, as the Dev team intends to make the ROM more stable, before we add any Evo X features into it. So those are just placeholders for now. Features will be added soon.

Great ROM. Random reboots off screencast feature and camera doesn't work. Otherwise works well! ?
Great rom. A minor bug though.. sometimes the gestures stop working... And then the only way to revive them is to do a reboot.
Again it's a pretty good rom. It's a miracle that it contain so little bugs despite being the first build.

It looks like my quick settings panel and notifications are very slow to render, I can see a noticeable lag on pulling the notifications panel down, does anyone knows the reason, or maybe even a solution? If not, what can I do to help the developer to understand and fix the problem? This absolutely noticeable while entering some text in quick Rey notification area (I'm not sure what the exact name of it), looks like rendering or animation there is lagging hardly, disabling window animation in developer settings didn't help. Restarting system UI helps for a while, will monitor the situation and try to find the cause, all advices art appreciated.

I have written to the developer lot of times but no response. The rom is also buggy. So instead of wasting shhit there are better roms around who are updated regularly.

ROFL!! I aint wasting any of my precious time here. I have found the best rom and too much happy with it. Even stock pixel rom cannot beat it. Happy wasting your time behind such dead projects and keep waiting until redmi note 10 pro releases.
Btw the developer just releases his rom and forgets about the rest no matter you have to throw away your phone.

Because Full screen gestures only works in pixel launcher.
I know that, I think you have not understood my question.
What about OTA Updates? Planning to use as daily driver.

Lawnchair is included just in case if someone likes it since it has lil more features than default Pixel Launcher.. and I assume you probably aware about latest released q pre alfa build by lawnchair team recently which is fully compatible with Q and quickswitch so probably more people who likes lawnchair would like to use it over Pixel Launcher..

Stops for a while, then problem starts again. Gesture back button is present even on other navigation bar options.

This happened to me too. restart system ui could make it normal but this issue occured again after some minutes

Sir, i just encountered this problem when dirty flashed from evolution_raphael-ota-rq3a.211001.001-10161645-unsigned.zip to evolution_raphael-ota-sd1a.210817.036.a8-11041427-unsigned.zip
I turned on “unlock when i finish the input of the PIN number” on Android 11 EvoX, but after the update to A12, every time I finish the input of correct PIN numbers, the screen goes off and not unlocked. The result is I cannot unlock the phone now.
Who knows how to bypass screenlock in Android 12 or evolution?
UPDATES for cannot unlock the phone.
Here is my method since my phone is unlocked, not encrypted and shipped with TWRP rec.
Flash to TWRP rec, go to Advanced>>File Manager>>data/system/>>delete locksettings.db and locksettings.db-journal
Reboot from TWRP
now the phone's PIN is gone

Dirty flashing from Evo X android 11 didn't go well
"Phone is starting" is stuck on display, dirty flashing back to Evo X A11 didn't work either. Neither does restore via TWRP work.
I guess I'm going to clean install it and re-setup every app once again
Anyway, thanks for already putting out an android 12 build for us
Dirty flashed from another A12 ROM, all good. The only issue, with the ROM itself, is Monet not theming third party icons. Hope this feature will be added soon! Great ROM, as always.
Situation: Clean flash, no DFE, Magisk and fingerprint+security pattern.
I found "Phone is starting" bug when entered SIM pincode and before security pattern (and I cannot enter because of previous message). I solved it restarting SystemUI only, so it seems bug is there. Bug repeats always when I reboot, but not when phone autolocks.
Other things: it seems there isn't any recovery compatible with A12 data encryption. So, if you don't want to use DFE (like me) you will need to flash things with ADB or USB-OTG until there will be a solution.
And another minor issues, but they are reasonable things for first release:
- There isn't any customization of inmersive navigation, so the blank space on the bottom and with the navigation pill is again here.
- I don't like the bunch of new preinstalled programs like Youtube Music that are not available to unistall.
- Theme color customization is poor. I don't like default pink and pastel colors and I miss theme chooser with pure black backgrounds (for battery saving also). There isn't any chance by now.
After that... WOOOOW. WE HAVE A12! HURRA! Thx Evolution Team!

Basically, I installed app-debug.apk (Magisk Canary) from https://github.com/topjohnwu/Magisk, patched the boot.img extracted from evolution_raphael-ota-XXXXXXXXXX.zip with the app, copied the patched image to PC, boot into fastboot and flashed it with this command "fastboot flash boot magisk_patched.img"
thanks @joeyhuab for the Android 12. this rom is smooth on my K20 Pro. but 1 small thing is missing. can you bring back the option to revert the button layout in case user uses 3 button layout

Safetynet passes by default. Use Magisk Canary for rooting then Enable Zygisk to hide from banking apps. It's stable enough.

I don't know if this is related, but I had that issue when trying to dirty flash A12 EvoX from a A11 EvoX. Installing the DTBO file from page 151 in EvoX A11 thread solved this issue for me.
Backup your DTBO before trying.

I see and thank you for it! I love evolution ROM as well, so you are bringing me my favorite ROMs!! I really appreciate it especially because I don't have the time to bake them anymore. I just try to help the remaining ROM devs still baking ROMs on XDA (like you) with the support. I do it this way so I can still help the forums users but not be pulled to hard with baking a ROM update or bug fix!

Motion Sense cant work in coustm roms
Where is the boot.img ?
It seems to me or actually there are friezes. It feels like there is no such smoothness as in the stock rom. It feels like the transitions (animation) are not very smooth.

Hi guys! This Rom is highly customizable like RiceDroid/CrDroid rom?
Does it matter which version of android you are coming from to flash this? I'm on stock android 11
Build RQ3A.210805.001.A1
This is what the phone came with. I heard it run badly on 11 and especially on 13 it runs like a bag of ****. I read that the pixel 4a only really works properly on android 10, and there are touch screen issues on the rest. Custom ROMs are not effected I hope?

I actually bought my wife a Pixel 4A since the camera is typically the most important aspect of a phone for her and this was the most cost-effective option at the time. She's been running hers on stock Android 13 and has expressed nothing but love for it. She inadvertently messed up the speaker and requested that we just replace it with another since she loved it so much. I decided to use the one with the messed up speaker as my backup device and now I love it so much that I'm seriously considering just getting another one to replace my OnePlus 6T as my daily driver.
So simply put, I haven't experienced any of those issues, neither has my wife who uses the hell out of her phone, and I actually love it so much, it may very well be my next daily driver depending on what the custom ROM support is like

Yes it's important.
For avoid bricking device, please upgrade to stock A13, then flash it rom.

Yeah, this rom equipped many customize, i think you will love it
Thank you for this rom. I was using stock A13 because of the lack of a high customizable rom like that for the P4A.

I was using Ricedroid, which is admittedly more customizable than this ROM, but this ROM seems more stable, and is definitely much more refined

Another question: this Rom have full customization navbar buttons? (long press action, double tap action, short press action ecc) like CrDroid and RiceDroid roms?
Unfortunately the Pixel 4A build doesn't seem to have those options

I've been using the rom for a couple of hours now and so far so good, I really like it.
But I did find a minor bug: if you have double tap to turn off enabled for the lockscreen, once you double tap, the display starts to turn off for just a few milliseconds before instantly turning back on, it does this at least 80% of the time making the feature useless. Hopefully it can be fixed in an update.
Edit: I also couldn't get reticker to work
