Nice to know :good: But I don't need it
@Tjsdj
How would be the exact procedure?
(1. Flash ROM and Gapps.)
(2. Reboot system.)
1. and 2. can be ignored if we have a running system I guess?!
3. Reboot into recovery.
4. Flash custom kernel and supersu 2.52 together.
5. Reboot system.
Am I right?

Hello, this is simple guide to root Oppo F1 Plus. No need to unlock bootloader :fingers-crossed:
This method worked and tested :highfive:
Yes i know there's another guide in this forum but it only link to youtube video tutorial.
First, download this update.zip and then copy it to your device (internal or MicroSD is allright, up to you)
*You can download file update.zip via attachment below
1. Go to recovery mode. Turn off your F1 Plus, wait for a second and then turn it on again with Power + Volume Down
2. Select language (english of course ahh is up to you)
3. Choose Install from storage and select update.zip
4. Wait the process (below 1 minute) and when it done just reboot system
5. Finishing updating and then check in your app drawer SuperSu should appear
6. Update SuperSU binary if needed
7. Done
will this work with the F1f version of the phone?

There are instructions in a guide in this very section of this forum.
Works like a charm. Having recently purchased the phone I didn't want to root it. But after I realized that Oppo released the May firmware (around 1.3 GB) on their website. Everything works as it should. I'm hoping for an official forum with more stuff.
A question, what theme are you using with the default launcher?

What is FlashFire? I'm new to this, I had a Samsung S3 earlier so CWM was the king. Also, I get notifications for software updates but it just won't download. Even after unrooting and factory reset.

Flashfire is a tool that can flash zip / backup ur phone without unlocking bootloader or install custom recovery.. So u can install xposed.zip.. But there is no one try it for x9009 oppo f1 plus.. Make sure u check ur hardware info first so u download the right thing for ur phone if arm64 u must download for arm64.. Do it on ur own risk..
Just tried, its not working with Flashfire

Do you think there has to be link?
Okay, I'll try.
Yep build prop don't flash and velvet app completely crashes the phone
I dont get crashes but the google assistant does not work. It comes up as google search like normal
Rico
There is something very strange, it only works on @Deycloud, more on mine and others give error ... I do not understand.
Is the script for the build.prop properly adding the ro.opa.eligible_device=true line and saving it with the correct permissions (which you need root access for, btw)? If not, that can cause a bootloop since you're editing a key system file - possibly better to add that line in a file root explorer (like ES file explorer) - again, I think you need root access to change.
Also, for those still interested in getting Google Assistant, has anyone tried this mod on a Moto G4 Plus? https://forum.xda-developers.com/general/general/android-7-0-google-assistant-t3535257

I got the same error when I tried also
download the stock boot img and put it in the phone storage
go to magisk and click install
chose the second option and select the boot img you put on the phone.
it will create a patched boot img
go to bootloader and fastboot flash the patched boot img to boot
you will have root

First unlock bootloader ---it will delete your all data
(Search for YouTube ..if u don't know )
After unlock
Download file given below
1.Go to device download mod
(Turn off phone -- press & hold both volume keys--- connect phone to pc with USB)
2.Download Odin
Go to Odin AP and flash file
(It will not delete any of your data )
And just restart
download magisk apk form browse
That's it.....hope u like it....
