OEM unlock, using Fastboot.
Use the readback function of the MSM tool to get a copy of the boot.img file from the active slot.
Patch that with Magisk 25.2 (26.1 didn't work for me).
Fastboot to the patched boot.img file
Install Magisk directly.
Update Magisk to the latest version.

Hi friends, can you tell why if I try to unlock the bootloader via Mi Unlock app I get a message: "Please unlock 168 hours later"? (see attached screen).

I have Mi account signed on the device and all is prepared properly (Developer Options ebabled, account assigned in Unlock status).
Why do I have to wait 7 days?

1. I flashed EU MIUI 12 on a china Mi 10 Pro, should I use the boot.img from that rom?
2. I copied the boot.img file (from MIUI12 EU) to downloads. Magisk doesn't see it, it sees other files there though.

Update, I rooted my Mi 10 Pro without this exact method.
My device is a China Mi 10 Pro 8/256.
1. I couldn't install the EU ROM from TWRP, so I installed the Chinese TWRP specifically for the Mi 10 Pro.
2. Inside that version of TWRP, there is a button to root the device. So I did and then flashing the EU ROM succeeded.
3. I installed Magisk 7.5.1 APK , it seems I'm not rooted. Tried root checker, no go too.
4. Now I wanted to root, so I tried this method , but for some reason Magisk (7.5.1) couldn't see my boot.img file.
5. I uninstalled Magisk (7.5.1)
6. I flashed Magisk ver 20.4 from TWRP. Cool, but couldn't see it.
7. I installed the Magisk 7.5.1 APK , and now it appears I'm rooted.
8. Tried root checker, Magisk popped and I granted acceess, root is OK!

Updating OOS 11 and keeping root?

So i rooted my OP8 straight away when got the OOS 11 update.
I rooted via patching the boot.img with Magisk.
My question is that how do i update from 11.0.1 to 11.0.2 and keep root?
Do i just install the full 11.0.2 update with local upgrade, install magisk to active slot and then to the inactive slot(after OTA)?

i made a mistake and didn't install the Magisk to current slot.
I only installed the OTA method.
Is is possible for me to switch my boot to the other slot that i installed the magisk to?
Use this tool to extract boot.img from fully downloaded package:
Code:
https://androidfilehost.com/?fid=818070582850510260
https://github.com/vm03/payload_dumper
Then transfer the boot.img file into cellphone.
Use Magisk App to "install", select "patch boot.img"
Transfer /sdcard/downloads/magisk_patched.img to PC
Use fastboot to flash this patched boot.img file
Code:
fastboot flash boot magisk_patched.img

Question How to root Poco X3 Pro?

I have successfully unlocked my bootloader with the Xiaomi Unlock tool. I am new here and I want to know how I can root my Poco X3 Pro (I have 8GB 256GB Global Variant)? Can someone share the working TWRP and Magisk? I just want to root my phone if someone has any working version of Magisk to flash from Fastboot mode it will be enough.
You don't need flash TWRP to install magisk. You have to download the firmware you are using and copy the boot.img to the internal storage. Then install the latest version of the magisk app and select "patch boot.img" as the installation method. The generated file must be flashed by fastboot ("fastboot flash boot boot.img"). Congrats! You're root.

I just made an account to remind: This is the Xiaomi.eu rom based on the chinese version
It is not the stock rom officially for the EU, the name of that would be "RJUEUXM"
I believe this is important, in case one wants to lock the bootloader again. From what I have read, unlocking a bootloader of a global/EU based Phone and downloading a chinese based rom and locking the bootloader will brick the phone. At least that's what I've read

Upload and send me boot.img by pm, I'm going to try patch it to know if it is a problem with your magisk or the file.
it seems that Magisk 22.1 was the problem, uninstalled, and installed v22.0. This version was able to do its job.

I can do it with 22.1, I think something strange happened with your phone.
Do we have to patch vbmeta also??
Has anybody had any luck flashing the EU 12.0.5.0 (RJUEUXM)? My bootloader is unlocked and I put my device in fastboot mode, extracted all the files in archived in the rom into my adb folder (which contains the adb repositories) and double-clicked "flash_all.bat" and let the process complete. However, my device does a constant boot loop of the POC splash screen. I thought what I did would be sufficient, or would I need to use the Mi Flash tool to proceed w/ this process instead?

Cannot flash Magisk properly

Hi, I am trying to flash magisk. I patched my boot.img and flashed it via fastboot. But it didn't work, Magisk app was still showing as not installed. Then, I tried the Recovery method (flashing the magisk zip), it tells that magisk patched to the boot.img file but this method didn't work too. But it said magisk patched to the boot.img. What can cause it?

Flashing the Magisk patched boot.img only installs the necessary binaries to gain root access, you have to manually install the Magisk Manager app to take advantage of the binaries that it installs. Flashing the patched boot.img does not automatically install the Magisk app on your device as part of the flashing process.

How To Guide T-Mobile OnePlus 9 (LE2117) Stock OOS Android 12 Root Guide & Pre-Patched Images

Hello all, I have found a method for T-Mobile users to easily download boot.img files from your device with MSM Readback Mode so you no longer have to wait for TWRP to work for A12 or can stay on Stock OOS if you only want root. I will also include a pre-patched boot.img for those who just want to flash and not go through the whole process, as well as an unpatched boot.img for c.19 if you want to patch it yourself.
Open the MSMDownloadTool for the T-Mobile version.
Login with "other" per usual.
Press F8 to open the Readback Menu select whichever partitions you want to copy. (if you want to backup whole system or just "boot").
In the password field the password is "oneplus".
The copied partitions will go to the root of your "C" drive.
Your all done now. Just patch the image and reboot.

Yeah last week I pulled my modem and persist via this method, but I wasn't sure if those partitions were valid files or not since all the comments I've seen they mention needing to use Partition Manager via root. Either way, no one responded and I received my unlock toke, so I ended up just rooting and using Partition Manager

Try to say Software Version LE2117_11_C23. But now is LE2117_11_24.
I being reading about OnePlus 9 5G lot. But no one can explain in detail how to root it without risk. I understand a little when you say extract boot.img. But I need to see how you do that with MSM tool. Last time I follow this method I got lost because the MSM tool have already a frimware to flash and install. I can't use that boot.img version. For what I understand, I need to get same boot.img version my phone have. Am looking for LE2117_11_24 (software version) Of Android 12, but I can't find it anywhere. I can downgrade to Android 11 but I need a good guide or video that explain everything. I have windows 11 with MSM tool for OnePlus 9 5G. Qualcomm driver installed, USB driver, and Adb. My phone can be detected with Adb and fastboot, but when I put the phone on Edl mode, MSM tool do not find the phone. Edl only last for 10 sec and reboot. I check divice manager on windows 11 and Qualcomm driver is working. Any Idea or help will be good me. I just don't want to brick the phone. Thanks for answering my question.

What I've just learned over the past 2 days, with MSM and such:
Yes, EDL mode will only be active for about 10 seconds with the MSM Tool, so you must be prepared to hit the "Start" button as soon as you see the connection is Active;
When talking about extracting the "boot.img" , it is discussed in this Post:
safely-convert-regions-includes-t-mobile-as-well-as-restore-the-ability-to-use-oos12-after-using-indian-msm-to-recover-from-a-brick-windows-only.4460859/
if that's what you are looking to do...? I am no expert, myself...
