Ahoy there! I seem to have borked my J4+ during the install process of LineageOS 19.1. TWRP 3.3.1.1 from Alyx installed without a hitch, and so did the RMM V3 bypasser.
After installing LineageOS 19.1 I successfully did firstboot to the Welcome setup page, then shut down and tried to re-enter recovery to re-flash with OpenGAPpps.
Now it's stuck on the TWRP window. I'm not sure what's happening, but as a precaution since it was at 5% earlier, I'm letting it charge. Maybe it wasn't a smart idea flashing on such low battery.

If you could enter into the recovery, you're safe to flash again the whole ROM+GApps

That's the issue, it locks up at the TWRP splash screen. I left it for 3 hours and it turned off from a drained battery. I charged it for a minute than tried again, and it immediately went right back into trying (and failing) to load TWRP.
EDIT: It also does not show up long enough in Odin or Device Manager for me to manually stop it. This is where the concern kicks in.
Here are videos of what is happening. The screen going black is because of low battery but imagine that for 3+ hours.

Hello all,
After I wiped my system, I tried to install the latest Magisk (From the official MagiskManager website) and then, after I wiped again, and tried to reboot, my phone just showed a black screen it wouldn't even show the unlocked bootloader warning or the boot logo and when I charge it, the LED flashes constantly (I'm not sure what that means) therefore I have to boot back into the recovery or the bootloader as there is no system. I looked at the system files and there was nothing there although the Lineage OS flashed successfully.
Can anyone help me?
I'm not sure whether my phone is bricked or something as every other time I did it (2 times) there were no problems.
Version of Lineage OS I tried to install (lineage-14.1-20180108-nightly-athene-signed.zip)
Device: Motorola Moto G4 2016 (Athene)
Custom Recovery: TWRP 3.0.2.0
Magsik Version: Magisk-v15.3.zip
Thanks in advance!
You never wipe system unless you are flashing a rom. You pretty much removed the OS and then tried. To boot it.

Yeah after I flashed Resurrection Remix, everything went back to normal, but thanks anyways.
So I updated to the latest version of KatKiss, did a wipe first (from Kang TWRP), everything seemed fine the tablet booted and everything was working. I powered off the tablet and went on with my day, when I turned it on again it's in a boot loop. I get the ASUS-logo (at least one time I also got the KatKiss-logo), it tries to boot and it returns to the ASUS-logo. I tried to do a wipe in recovery (Kang TWRP) but it doesn't complete, after around 30 seconds it jumps automatically to the ASUS-logo and tries to boot again.
Any solution greatly appreciated.

Please try to get into "Fastboot Protocol" by holding the button volume down at the time before the boot loop starts newly again. Three icons will appear. The first one, RCK; is blinking. Press volume up and your TWRP should start. Hopefully you have Kang TWRP. If so you may install rom, gapps and SuperSU again by following exactly the install instruction by Timduru here: https://forum.xda-developers.com/tra...t/rom-t3453702.
(Don't forget to do "Format Data" through Kang TWRP as first of all. It takes up to one hour. Be patient and let it run.)
I'm sorry, but if you are really not able to boot into either fastboot or recovery the tablet is bricked for good!
Thank you for advice.
The tablet is up and running again. I wasen't able to boot into Kang TWRP, but I was able to use fastboot. I ran a lot of erase commands that I found in a guide, erase boot, erase recovery, erase userdata etc., afterwards I flashed stock rom. It still wouldn't boot, but I installed Kang TWRP with fastboot and I was able to use TWRP again so I was able to flash a custom rom and it booted up again.

Congratulations! You did a good job. Seems as if you did the well known "Buster99 Solution" successfully in order to get back on stock rom. Keep it in your mind for ever. It may be also helpfully in other cases of trouble.
odd loop.

Randomly my tablet started doing the boot loop. It would show the Asus Logo, then the Kattkiss logo and it will go to a screen saying optimizing apps. It would go through and optimize all 1-75 then reboot and start the process again. I unhooked the dock and allowed it to do this until the battery was completely dead. Next day same thing. This tablet has been unchanged OS wise for about 2 years. only used for youtube videos. Super odd that it randomly broke.
It does have a good TWRP version installed v2.8.7.0. So I tried flashing the 7.1 rom, su, gapps and wiped cache/dalvik. Did not correct it. So then did factory reset. Still no go. Now i am doing a full wipe / format. After format i will reinstall katkiss 7.1, su, and gapps. Hopefully i get back to normal after that.
Absolutely no idea what spurred this or what caused the break. Has been completely normal for a very long time. Weird.
Anybody else see anything like this?

I don't think so. In order to get this Rom installed on your devise you need Kang TWRP as advised by @timduru https://forum.xda-developers.com/transformer-tf300t/development/recovery-twrp-t3046479.
Need some help, I keep getting a infinite boot animation. I tried to install LineageOS (thread) on my G920F three times and let them all boot for about an hour without success.
This is the order of how I flashed it:
1. Wipe Davik, System, Data and Cache
2. Flash the LineageOS zip
3. Flash the Zerofltexx kernel img
4. First try flashed OpenGAPPS, second try flashed MindTheGAPPS and third try didn't flash GAPPS at all
5. Reboot and wait, after an hour still booting
Any idea's of what I'm doing wrong?
Fixed my issue!
Hi!
I had the same issue as you, followed the guides and installed TWRP through ODIN and flashed the OS through TWRP to boot it.
When I booted the device it just got stuck indefinitely on the loading animation (the Lineageos loading logo in my case).
Since you and some others had the same issue as me I assumed it was something to do with a new version of some software.
I resolved the issue by installing an older version of TWRP through ODIN,
I installed the TWRP version 3.2.3.
And then I flashed the same ROM with the GAPPS again.
After the ROM and GAPPS I also flashed MAGISK aswell from the magiskmanager website.
Download the MAGISK Zip.
After I flashed the ROM, GAPPS and MAGISK through the TWRP 3.2.3 it booted as intended.
Hope this works for you aswell!
how long did it take to boot
First Boot needs longer...up to 15 minutes is possible.

Remove the TWRP from the phone via the advance key in TWRP. I had tried several ROMs and Gapps only to get stuck on the boot screen then back to the TWRP screen. Removing the app made my new rom boot in less than 10 seconds.
If you can give us exactly the steps you follow
Lineageos 17 boot animation stuck

Steps (I have followed the instructions to the letter)
Wiped all partitions (advanced wipe)
formatted DATA partition
rebooted back into recovery
installed Lineage 17 and Gapps
Rebooted to system and left it all day, still stuck on boot animation
Tried again without gapps same results
Tried other roms they work, AOSP showing no encryption which works fine
What am I doing wrong? Do I have to flash different kernel? TWRP 3.3.1 installed.
Im using G920L it booting to long then just go to twrp anyhelp?
Helpful

For reference, formatting data after install seems to often be the solution when flashing a new OS to a Moto G5 Plus.

These steps solved my issue. thanks
I was trying to get lineageos on my s6 edge+ but it is stuck in a samsung logo loop after being unable to flash the rom and now it won't go back into TWRP either.
Initially I flashed the official TWRP for the zenlte which worked fine, it just did not want to install the rom due to apparently not having any device data. (Rom is for zenlte, this device is . (or something along those lines))
after a few attempts and doing a quick wipe I flashed an unofficial twrp and thats when it started looping without being able to get back into recovery mode.
Download mode does still work after a power off but flashing the official twrp again makes no difference.
This is a little beyond me and I'm not entirely sure what is going on.
The last phone I installed a custom rom on was an s4 so I'm a bit out of the loop with this new security stuff. I would have expected to at least be able to boot back into twrp.
Ok some progress:
Recovery mode worked again after leaving phone off (but still attached to computer) for a while. (I had given up but decided to try again after a few hours)
Partitions were missing / corrupted. Did a full format.
Installing rom still gave the 'device type is .' message.
Edited the rom zip to allow "" and " " ( in META-INF\com\google\android\updater-script )
Flashed rom + gapps + magisk in 1 go.
This ended up in LineageOS trying to start but rebooting into recovery after about 5 minutes.
Re-instralled just the rom, this gave a few errors about Magisk missing, re-installed Magisk as well before wiping cache and rebooting.
Now it came up with the welcome screen rather quickly.
Weird, but problem solved any ways.
Thanks! That was also my problem.
My Phone was running Android 11 perfectly fine. Has been for about a week and a half, and I've decided that I don't like the OS. I was going to flash a custom ROM and went to create a nandroid before flashing. Literally all I did was boot into recovery and TWRP got stuck in a bootloop, the TWRP splash screen appears, crashes and then reappears about 2 seconds later, now when I try to boot back into system, TWRP appears instead and continues to bootloop. I can enter fastboot mode but that's all.
So far I've tried
Booting TWRP through fastboot. Failed another bootloop.
Rebooting through ADB. Boots into TWRP.
Rebooting Bootloader. Seems to do nothing.
Does anyone have any ideas on how to fix this ? It seems strange to me that something as simple as booting recovery could do this much harm. I also have a nandroid backup stored on the device from about a month ago, so the data loss wouldn't be THAT major, but I'm also not sure how I could access it without system or recovery access.
Hi , Which version of TWRP use? I think there is an update a new version TWRP 3.5.2 , Try to flash it. if its still not booting try to boot the original Boot of OOS11.
May be this threads will help you.

New version does not work as well. Flash the stock boot img to get out of bootloop.

At first.- Stable TWRP is not available til now for OOS11
For TWRP to work your device must be decrypted.
