Identify my car radio& update the firmware and navigation - MTCD Android Head Units Q&A

I've currently bought a VW Jetta and the radio is not original. How can I identify which brand/model it is and with wich version of firmware and navigation software can I update?
I've seen different firmwares but I don't want to take a risk to brick the radio.
If it's possible I want to update the navigation only. If i's needed or if it's easy I'll update the firmware too.
I've take a screenshot of the settings with information about the current FW.

this looks like a Kanor radio head unit from ali specifically from the pictures it might be related to this one maybe their previous version idk much about head units or anything just a quick search leads me here
Kanor radio head unit - Bing
Intelligent search from Bing makes it easier to quickly find what you’re looking for and rewards you.
www.bing.com
If thats any help IDK maybe a picture of the whole unit would yeild better results if people could see the whole of the device to make a better judgement on what your kit is and what would possibly be more suited in terms of firmware etc.

It looks different from the Kanor. The car is now with my parents. He looks exactly like this:

Can anybody answer/help?

You're in the wrong subforum, it's definitely not android, but WinCE, probably Isudar. If everything works, I do not recommend updating the firmware, it is not easy to find the right one, there is a risk of brick if you choose the wrong one. Because these devices have illegal iGo navigation, no one can advise you here, you have to look elsewhere. Good luck.

Aviation Software (avitation weather/aviation calculator)?

Hi guys, I´m looking for some aviation software, espacially a weather program that shows METAR, TAF and SPECI weather reports of aerodromes by the ICAO location indicator codes.
Additionally I´m looking for an aviation calculator, some kinda E6B thing or so...
Concerning the weather thing it might be also easy for a skilled programmer to create a little app, because you can grap the necessary weather information easily by the web. There are certain sites like
weather.noaa.gov/weather/coded.html
or
de.allmetsat.com/metar-taf/index.html
and several others (via google)
that offer the needed weather information...
Regards,
insi
I want this too, plenty apps available for iphone...
Plz
Can someone plz make an apps for this service - I really need one.....
Is this something you would pay for/there is a market for?
Also where does this information come from? Can it be easily syndicated?
Let me know and I might be able to cook something up (though it may take a little while).
I would give $10,- for an aviation weather-app!
Google is your friend. Search for WXSYS That prog should do it.
Yes, it looks good.
However, after entering my e-mail address, I still can not send any query.
It does not work for me.
No problem on my HD2 with EDDF. It even gave me satellite images
there is definately a market for that ;-) And I would pay for this kinda app - I think I would pay up to 40 Euro for it.
I know wxsys very well but for german aerodromes, especially the smaller ones it is quite bad...
regards, insi
Hrm,
Ok, maybe I need to canvas an aviation forum to see what kind of response I get.
This is something I might be interested in developing but it might take a little while. I'll keep you posted.
Something similar to aeroweather on the iphone would be great.. Count me in and my $10!! flyingmarvo
Maybe you could have a look at SBSH PocketWeather. It includes METAR aso. Using it for quite a long time. Don't know if that's the right thing for you - maybe a beginning...
After migrating from an iPhone, i am desperately waiting for something along the lines of PilotWizz.
It was great for Calculations, and decodes the latest weather (TAFs and METARs) for easy and simple viewing.
TBH im fairly disappointed with whats on offer on WM in general....hope someone is able to sort something out!!!
I´ve been using the program that´s been said before with good results for Europe:

I´ve been searching for a snowtam program but without succes too..
Does anybody know a program to log flighttime (with a/c registration, callsign, flighttime, date of flight if possible)?

Can anyone help me identify this? [SOLVED: FAKE GALAXY S6]

Hi.
So i got an s6 from eBay.
It's not reacting to my touch. (it is, but with insane delay and barely!)
Couldn't figure this out.
Suddenly or occurred to me that something is fishy since home screen should not be organized like this (this is AFTER full reset!)
(why would twitter be inside a folder named Google?)
Also looks to be non-stock.
Here's a pic.
Can anyone tell me what am I dealing with here?
Does not seem to be running the usual Samsung rom.
Was this device tinkered with?
Also see video here:

Thank you!

Is it a real S6?
Theres a thread in the General section about how to try and spot a fake S6.
that article mentions the fake ones are running droid 4.x, but thats not to say they haven't mucked with the version number on it.

Since you bought off eBay. Did you pay via paypal?
Just lodge a claim against them for selling a fake item.
Make sure and screenshot the ebay listing as well
Yes I will definitely file a claim. Thank you.
Everyone else - BE WARNED!!!
My advice:
Turn off phone.
Press and hold power button + volume down button.

Mediatek K107 MT8752 - Can I change the current ROM ?

Hello all!
First of all, I need to point out that I am a newbie when it comes to Android modifications, but I work in IT, so I have a good general knowledge on how these things work. I say "general", because obviously, working in IT does not make me a professional in this in any way...far from it. I'm just saying so in case you guys can explain to me, or point me a guide I can follow to achieve what I'd like to do Also, English is not my first language, so I apologize in advance if my text is hard to read..
I ordered a cheap chinese tablet from Aliexpress, but I can't post links...so I can't show you. But it's an Octa Core MT8752, 10 inches (really 9.6 though )
For the price I paid, it really does the job, and I am very satisfied. However, I hate the interface. It's not a big deal, but it's annoying. The icons, for one, are ugly. I own a Nexus 7 (2012 model) and it does not look the same, even if they both run on 5.1 Lollipop. I know it sounds stupid, but it bothers me Plus, everytime it boots, I see the big, ugly, Mediatek logo pop-up before the Android one does.
I'm well aware it shouldn't really matter, but I'd like to change that. Is there a way I can flash this tablet with another rom? I was already successful rooting it with KingRoot. I was about to go on and see how to make a backup with MTK Android Tools.
All that rambling to say I'd like to change the look and feel of the tablet and get rid of some junk applications that came already installed on the tablet. Some of these applications were installed by me.

}
The specs are as follows:
Also, it bothers me that it seems like the disk space was split in two partitions. Can I change this?
Now, I searched for a while, and I've come across what I believe may be the factory file for flashing, but I am really unsure...I wonder if these files will come with the same icons built in.
Does anyone have any experience with said tablet? I would just like to know what I can do to flash it with another rom, without screwing anything up. I'm really new at this, and I'm not even sure which guide I should follow.
Thank you for your time

Question Tidal player - Landscape / Portrait issue on Joying 7"

I have the Joying 7" JY-UQ135N4G-DA UIS7862 with the latest update from Joying. Also latest Tidal app updates. When I click on the current playing song it doesn't fill the screen in landscape. The player looks like its stuck in a portrait mode.
Searching around I don't see other people that are using Tidal having this problem. Is there anyway to fix this to fill the screen or show in a landscape mode?
The main page looks normal like this:
{
"lightbox_close": "Close",
"lightbox_next": "Next",
"lightbox_previous": "Previous",
"lightbox_error": "The requested content cannot be loaded. Please try again later.",
"lightbox_start_slideshow": "Start slideshow",

"lightbox_download": "Download",
"lightbox_share": "Share",
"lightbox_zoom": "Zoom",
"lightbox_new_window": "New window",
"lightbox_toggle_sidebar": "Toggle sidebar"
}
But when I tap on the current playing song it looks like this:
Is it an FYT unit, post Android system information including MCU version.
Tidal has a website with a Support link and an email address for support. What did they tell you?
It's a JY-UQ135N4G-DA UIS7862. So it is indeed a FYT.
I have contacted Tidal and am waiting for their reply. I thought that maybe someone here had this happen and maybe I had overlooked an option or setting.
Other players are fine for me on the head unit.

I think they simply didn't make landscape xmls for their layout. The programmer(s) could do this within an hour.

That seems to be the issue, as their reply said they don't currently support that feature. But to look for future updates.
What is confusing to me as I've watched videos of many people showing how to use their Android Head Units and using Tidal and none of them have this layout issue of the Now Playing song, theirs are always in a landscape mode that fills the screen. And many people use Tidal on these head units, so it just seems odd that I'm the only one to have mentioned it.

Question Joying Bluetooth connection problems?

Hi, I have a Joying 10.1" SKU JY-UQS10N4G-H which is running android 12, my problem is certain Bluetooth devices just won't connect to it, there are obviously some restrictions made by Joying, would any of you knowledgeable people here know why this is and any way to make the connection?
Are there any workarounds for this model? Is there an app that would allow me to create a widget for system Bluetooth settings?
Wrong forum apparently, so mods can you please delete this one, thanks!

Read the thread "Does Bluetooth only reconnect to the last device used?"
It will give you the info you want.
Well, it seems I can't do right, first I post in the Android general head unit section, then I am told that it's the wrong section, so I am pointed here so made the posts here, and I also asked if a mod could delete the old posts, as I couldn't see a way? But nobody has, and now I am wrong to do this!
Having read through the "Does Bluetooth only reconnect to the last device used?" I can't see anything that relates to the Joying units, they are known to cripple Bluetooth, so only selected devices are recognised, my unit runs the latest firmware and I have now been able to change any BT setting with apps that are supposed to give access?
Thank you!

Then you should read more . All Joying, Mekede/NaviFly, T'eyes , Atoto (some) and many more units are FYT units. They all behave the same. So yes, it also relate to the Joying units.
What about topway ts10 model, is that FYT?

Nope.
Topway/TS are other manufacturers of similar units with the exact same ums512 7862 SoC.
They use very different firmware to FYT and are not compatible at all.
