Question Wallpaper being set automatically everyday - Google Pixel 7 Pro

I've purchased the Pixel 7 Pro when it came out and migrated apps from my OnePlus 6. Since then the wallpaper has been changing automatically every day. Doesn't happen on the OnePlus. It didn't bother me much, but after a while it started to get a bit on my nerves. And I am now trying to avoid doing a factory reset.
I haven't rooted this phone yet as I need it for work, and I am wondering if anyone in this awesome community have some ideas they can share on how to debug the problem. Do I need to root the phone to be able to identify the problem? (avoiding this as I won't be able to use it for work due to the apps I need)
I've gone through all apps to check whether they have any automatic wallpaper switcher and couldn't find the culprit. Also uninstalled any wallpaper related apps and disabled the ones that I couldn't uninstall.
I use Nova Launcher and uninstalled it for a few days to see if that was the cause (it wasn't). And I've searched on the phone for all images I have to try to find the active wallpaper to maybe identify the app this way, but can't find anything. Using Mixplorer, but probably will need root to better access all files?
Any help is appreciated.

Um, have you used the Styles& Wallpaper built in app? This should overwrite everything else as soon as you set it to something...

I did yes. But as there is no automatic wallpaper setting in the Pixel I guess it doesn't change that.
I've tried setting live wallpaper, static, own photo, and it always change.
It's been a challenge trying to find the issue
Maybe someone can point me in the right direction to identify the wallpaper location or some logging.

Damn that's weird Good luck with logging, I think it'll be like looking for a small needle in a large hay stack... Unless you know the exact moment it changes?

Try clearing the cache and data of the Wallpaper & style app and rebooting.

[Q] Wallpaper "cropping" not working properly (multi-touch)?

Hi all,
I am still very new to my Xoom (have only had it for about a week) and I have noticed what seems to be a glitch with the "wallpaper resizer/cropping tool" in the gallery when I am trying to set new wallpapers.
On all of my other Android devices (past and present) when I resize the picture to make it may wallpaper I can simply do so by using 2 fingers (pinch to zoom) but when I try this on my Xoom it is only recognizing one finger at a time and I have to resize by moving the box down, then to the right, then up, then to the left, etc.
Does anyone else have this issue and if so does anyone know how to fix it?
Please advise...
Thanks in advance...
That's going to be the least of your concern. I'm trying to figure out how to enable the whole wallpaper instead of cropping it.

LOL... Ya... I read your thread as well. I can get my wallpapers to work from the gallery using the crop feature but it is a pain in the a$$ to do when it wont work properly...
One easy way to get all of the wallpaper to view is to install wallpaper slide show. It's a live wallpaper but it allows viewing of the whole thing.

Hi all,
I had this same problem until another thread on this forum where some one mentioned the Live Wallpaper app that solves these problems and works really well you can give it a try as its free.

Can someone tell me how to configure the app? When I click on folders it FC's.

How to properly apply wallpapers?

I might be missing something here but I can't apply a wallpaper without it being either bad quality (even with a high quality image) or misc. launchers and apps. I am running CM7.
I have the same problem, and also the wallpaper keeps changing to the wallpaper from the lock screen. I'm sure there's a solution posted somewhere.
I'm sure there are plenty of ways to do this, but I used the Kindle Fire Utility. Under "Extras", there's an option to lock or unlock the wallpaper. Unlock the wallpaper, make your change, and then lock it again. Mine hasn't changed since.
I think the quality problem has something to do with how the device is scaling the image if it's not the correct resolution.
I found that it's very hard to get a wallpaper to look good in both landscape and portrait view depending on the resolution. This is unfortunate because I have a ton of wallpapers that would look great on the kindle but they just don't display right.
Having issues with this myself...tried the lock / unlock..no luck.

Just checking...did you mean unlock / lock ?
The default factory setting is unlocked (and lock screen changes the wallpaper every time it is cycled) so use bebrooks1 method (post #3)...it worked for me on stock rooted.
I found this. I haven't tried it yet but it's worth a shot.

As far as I know, the accepted method for properly setting wallpapers (on Android in general) is to use an app such as Wallpaper Set And Save from the market. It'll set the wallpaper at the original image quality.
I always use Wallpaper Wizardri to set my wallpapers......but with this postiive comes a negative....for some reason it constantly runs in the background. I just use Titanium Backup Pro to freeze it and unfreeze it whenever I need to change wallpapers. Works like a charm.

Downloaded this app and tried it out and it doesnt work. The wallpaper is still very blurry. Looks nothing like the image i selected for the wallpaper.
To change the wallpaper on your kindle and make it "stick", do the following:
Set your wallpaper
Open Root Explorer
Navigate to data/data/com.Android.settings/files/wallpaper
Long press on wallpaper, select permissions from the menu that drops down.
Uncheck the "write" permission for all users then click OK.

Yes I am.
It's /data/, not /sdcard/data or anything else.
I assume you are rooted...what file explorer are you using?
I use ES File Explorer 1.6.1.0 from the Market (not Amazon because last I checked they were a version or two behind)
Then go into settings a scroll to bottom and select ROOT EXPLORER and when asked I think I selected the CM option (and for good measure select MOUNT FILE SYSTEM, although I don't think that is required unless you are working in the /system/ folder).
Now you should see the contents of the /data/ folder...
Hope this helps.

Had the same thing happen to me. Check out my post (#7) from another thread in this topic.

Has anyone figured this out yet? There's a lot of talk in this thread about something entirely different. Most of us know how to make it so the wallpapers no longer change.
What I'm curious about is how to set a wallpaper and not have it extremely stretched and blurry. Neither of the apps listed on the previous page achieve this goal (Wallpaper Set and Save & Wallpaper Wizardii).
This is on the stock ROM (using Go Launcher EX).

Download Wallbase. It's a wallpaper app that I've had excellent results with. Not everything out there will work with tablets. This one does and has TONS of wallpapers in it, HD, and just about all of them look like they were made for tablets.
By the way, the mod that was given earlier regarding how to keep your wallpaper from changing WORKS.

The no wallpaper happened to me one so I l looked on my sdcard Where i put em, in download folder I pressed and viewed in whatever gallery etc, then set as wall. Afterwards when back looking for /data/data/com.android.settings/files I saw wallpaper whose permissions in write column had to be changed.

[Q] UCCW is getting buggy for my all of a sudden...

I'm trying to incorporate images into some widgets, but the app, as of yesterday, keeps bogging down as soon as I try to load one. I'll click the image I want then it goes back to UCCW and nothing happens. The generic image icon still remains, I can click to switch between objects, but it won't actually switch. What could be causing this? I downloaded a bunch of fonts a few nights ago, but the app was working fine up until yesterday. The app works just fine so long as I don't attempt to import an image file. If anyone has an idea, please let me know. I'm working on a huge project.

using s note page as wallpaper

Hey,
I thought about how sweet would it be if there was an app that can use the handwriting great ability using the s pen on the note 3 and combine it with another app that allow to use the s note(or any other similar app) as a wallpaper. this will allow me to use the wallpaper as a blackboard in a single press and see the changes automaticaly on the screen.
I searched a lot on every forum that i know if anyone found a solution for this and coudnt see any.
obviosly i can use the s note and then screencapture - set it as a wallpaper. After giving it a shot i found its uncomfortable and i will gave up on that idea as im looking for something more friendly without all that mess.
Any suggestions?

I have now. Allthough its pretty good it doesn't seem to help my issue as i need it to change it on the wallpaper.
I mean that if it would just auto save the screen captured to be the wallpaper it would be IT.
But it doesn't and so i'm left witht he same ritual of set to wallpaper.
Thanks though.
Any other suggstions?

[HOW TO] Set a custom launcher as default home application

Soon after I bought the fire HD6 I quickly realized that upon installing an alternative launcher, the device would not allow you to set that launcher as default. Today I figured out a way around this issue and put together a quick video showing all the steps. This tutorial should work for all Fire devices spanning from the Fire HD6 and HD7. Before going through the tutorial I suggest you get ADB set up and working on the computer for your Fire device. Enjoy!

Following this guide will make it so you cannot use the Amazon Book app. A way around this issue would be to side-load the Kindle app. But not any Kindle app, a hacked version I made with a different signature and package name. That way your device will allow the installation and will not downgrade each boot. Download the APK below to get your books working:
https://drive.google.com/file/d/0Bx_94ujbh0qobVBJbWFyVzNzeUU/view?usp=sharing
Now you will be able to access your books.
You're awesome! Thanks! :laugh::good:
This works great, thanks!
Anyways to change the wallpaper?

Since Amazon "upgraded" the OS to Fire 4.x.x this has been a problem.
You are a gentleman and a scholar. Works for unrooted kindles as well.
Thank YOU!!!

Could you share what exactly you changed in the hacked Kindle app? AFAIK it's a pretty old version and I'd like to have a more recent one on my Kindle. Thanks a lot either way!

I basically just changed the package name and resigned it so that it will think it is a different app so it allows you to install it. I used apktool to decompile but had problems compiling till I removed some services from the Manifest file. I tried newer versions but could not get them to run without force closing.

I use Apex and I can not get it to rotate either.
The best solution I've found so far is the app "Ultimate Rotation Control". It will allow you to manipulate the display as you see fit and even set parameters per app.

I believe this requires root.
I recently purchased a Fire HD 6 and this worked perfectly for me. Thank you for this. I chose to use Nova Launcher Prime as my default home launcher.

I forgot to revert to the stock dash before the last update (yesterday) and now I don't have ADB access. It just shows the device as 'offline' so I can't get it back to the stock dash and it's stuck at the Fire loading screen. It's the same in Windows/Ubuntu. Just a notice for anyone else to undo the custom dash before proceeding with the update.

oh god, you scared the **** out of me for a second - I had gotten the update but had never used adb since then. tried just now, and ... nothing.
but! then I remembered, I had turned adb off on the HD, lol. turned it on and all is well.
I am running Nova launcher, and have the real launcher permanently blocked, along with a few other things:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=58360063&postcount=5
maybe your problem is something else? (or hopefully, maybe like me, just pilot error and usb debugging was turned off.)
I don't remember turning debugging off. I wouldn't have had any reason to disable it. I just assumed it was reset by the update. Either way, I had to do a factory reset to get it working again. To be honest, the custom dash was mostly a novelty. I'm happy enough with stock. Being able to use Google apps is all I'm worried about.
No body else appears to have mention having problems making widgets on your home screen. Every time I place a new widget it, just takes me to the main setting screen and on going back home there is no new widget.
I have been assuming that this is something else that requires root, but I thought I'd better check.
Thanks for kindlehack.apkill give it a try, ps use nova beta for wallpaper
