Hello everyone,
I'm having very serious UI issues whenever I change my language to RTL language like Arabic or Persian, as the ROM is designed only for LTR use
My question is there are anyway to force LTR layout for the whole system, just like "Force RTL" option in the developer option?
I hope that can help everyone who's facing the same issue

The LTR option does not need to be forced, as it is the default for android.
When you select a language in which you are typing towards RTL, the system automatically sets itself according to the settings for that language.
Is your question about the case where, despite the settings for the language with RTL, you would like to keep the LTR direction?

Yeah, I don't want the system to change the layout direction to RTL, and just keep it as LTR, there's an option in the developer option that allow the opposite, so I wonder if there are a similar option for LTR layout
I want to change the system layout direction to LTR while using Arabic or Persian instead of RTL, I have a root access but I doesn't even know what is the thing that controls that option

I believe that there is no solution. It would be difficult to expect a drastic change regarding language rules for RTL. Similarly, it's hard to expect the interface to display words upside down.
In any case, an interesting problem to get google interested in.

I have found a solution, It will help any other RTL language users
1- You'll need root + Magisk
2- You'll need LSposed installed
3- Install this
4- After that enter LSposed and give it the accses to System framework

6- if your SystemUI or any other app was not compatible with RTL layout, then simply activate force LTR option, and change your device language to any language you wish, you can apply the same thing on all apps that have issues with RTL layout
Note that you may still run into issues, so in that case rebuild the SystemUI to be compatible with RTL layout

Great app and nice work. I'm moving this to Apps / Games.
Great App and very useful, tried it out on my Desire HD, couple of points the radio buttons are very small on the widget, I found myself pressing three or four times not knowing if i was successful. Because of this it seemed to have some lag before I got the message box saying please wait updating system.
Apart from that, sweet...
Quick question
Hi,
I use this, but not sure if using correctly.
I have set a custom setting, with language to English, but location to China, as that is where I am. My hope is that numbers/ address formats will be according to China standards, but display of programs will be in English. But, it really just seems to use American address fields (state, postal code, etc). Is this how it should work?
This looks very nice, i'll give it a whirl shortly.

Ahh sorry, I should have mentioned that those things that looks like buttons are not buttons. They're light indicators that turn green if the language is currently being used. The part that can be touched is the big square block with the language name.
The light indicators actually don't respond to touch at all. So pressing them an infinite amount of times shouldn't bring any response.
But thank you for the suggestion. I'll make those indicators respond to touch in a future update.

The app works as a duplicate of the Language settings in your Settings. If you change the language to English, everything will be English as if you had changed it in the settings.
From my understanding, the number and address formats are also tied into the Locale so to get the result that you want, you need to make sure your phone has English for a Chinese Country. I think Hong Kong uses English and the Chinese format. I believe you might need the Locale en-hk or read as English (Hong Kong).
My app is only used to switch between languages in a more convenient way, so its unable to provide you with the Locale you need if your device doesn't support it. I suggest taking a look at the app MoreLocale2 from C-LIS Crazy Lab.

This app allows you to create shortcuts and choose which language each shortcut will use.
Extremely useful for people who like to use the phone in english and want to use a specific app on another language!
EXAMPLE: android system in english and run google maps in portuguese
Using a localized shortcut is slower because it has to change the language and then change it back after exiting the app. Please be patient!
The localization depends on the 3rd party app, this app will not translate it!
Android does not have support to launch applications on different languages. The workaround is to change the system language during the app execution.
You should use ISO639 languages (en, pt, fr, es, de, it, etc) and ISO3166 countries (US, BR, FR, ES, DE, IT, etc).

New version released with a few bugs fixed! =)
great app! finally i can use the IMDB app without the stupid, irritating german movie titles!
Awesome
Simply Awesome.
I was thinking on something like this for months.
Was using a switch to change language, but this is far more useful!
I'm glad you liked it! =)
Now that's a nice one! YAY
Though not fitting my needs
Tried to tell Navigon to speak to me in german, but it won't. Everything is the UI is german, but the voice keeps telling me the stuff in english. Am i doing anything wrong?
i entered de an DE
THX anyway!
Dave,
If you go to settings -> languages and change it to german. And then open navigation (NOT from my app's shortcut), does it speak in german?
Did you create a shortcut for maps or for navigation?
Thanks!
I've tried it with Navigon from spanish to english and it works (both menus and speech), but doesn't go back to spanish when I exit the app. Is that the expected behavior?
jfmart,
no, it should have gone back to spanish! i will check what might have gone wrong! thanks for the feedback!
For those who are trying to use Navigation, try pointing to Maps and then launch Navigation from there!

Perfect! =)
So ehm, isnt this supposed to restore back to default lanuage after you are done with an app ? I just tried Localized Apps and it doesnt restore it
Ok I noticed this did work for maps but not for Navigon, I am not sure if its Navigon fault or if its because I use tasker to increase media sound and brightness when running the app and then lower them back to default afterwards.
I did some more testing, I disabled tasker and created a new shortcut to NAVIGON, and still it did not swap back to correct language afterwards. It do work with other apps but just not navigon for some odd reason.
I do have a feature request:
Can you implement so that your app appear on the list of supported shortcuts making apps ? eg when you long press on the home screen and select shortcuts then your app will be on that list. This means that apps like Folder Organzier can create a shortcuts using your app.
Don´t work with Google Navigation.
I want my phone language to be in english but navigation in swedish.
When i try to launch navigation it just FC´s
Maps works in swedish, but when i launch it that way and want it to navigate for me tha launguage is changed back to english since Maps launches Navigation and your app registers it as i have quited maps.
Any solution?

Is there any dictionary? I mean polish dictionary?
almost same as smart keyboard
Downloaded and trying it out. Looks good so far. Layout of the T9 keyboard is a bit unusual, with the 0 beside the 1.
I use smart keyboard pro but will give this a go
Bug Report
In the T9 keyboard and with the T9 dictionary off, there's no way to capitalize the later chars (e.g. B and C, E and F, etc.) You can only capitalize the first letters on each key (A, D, G, etc.)
I uploaded a new version to the market. version 1.0.3

Fixed "No fullscreen in landscape" option.
Hi from the screen shot I can tell that its looking perfect. do you have any plans for adding Persian layout?
Do you have a plan to add Turkish support?
Hi, what about special support for hardware keyboards?
What would be the main useful feature? Definitely multiple pressing of the same key could show different accented characters for that key; usual way of selecting accented character from the on screen list is not sufficient if you want to write quickly...

Going to try this out. It's hard to find a good replacement for the HTC IME T9 keyboard... this one looks promising so far though! Thanks!
Edit: one question so far: how do you add custom words? I don't see a way to do it when in T9 mode. I know the HTC keyboard had a dropdown and you could select "Add word" and it would add it to the dictionary. Is there a way to do this?

Hey
I really like this keyboard. its the only one which has come close to filling the void left by htc ime mod keyboard not working on ICS.
However, im having the same problem as the user above. I cant seem to add words to the dictionary whilst typing. For example. im simply trying to add the work 'ok' (english - english dictionary) as i dont want it to always come up with 'okay'
However, when i write 'ok' manually, it doesnt ever show it in the suggestions bar, it still has all the normal suggestions i would see when using predictive text
Am i doing something wrong? Have i got a setting wrong?
-----------------------------
Right - i figured it out. Its because i was turning off XT9 when typing a non-dictionary word. It works if i keep it on and long press keys
so...the next suggestion Is it possible to have the word in the editor change to what it thinks the word is whilst your typing, instead of when you click space or punctuation?
Good keys, and i like using it!
I'm finding that it's not suggesting words that are in my dictionary. they are there for around an hour after I add them but when I go back to use the keyboard later it doesn't suggest those words again. I look at the dictionary in the settings and those words are definitely still in there
Any idea why this is happening?

It comes with limitations but if there is enough demand we'll look into it.
Very nice and simple way of getting translations for apps not in your native language. You should add a pause button next to the stop so that users can temporarily pause translation if they feel they don't need it and resume when necessary. Since if you press stop you have to switch back to Language Navi and restart the translation process which is abit annoying everytime you want to pause translation for a while.
