Always update ALL apps - General Questions and Answers

Often when I open an app that I use not so much, that requests to update and I must wait to use it.
There is an option to always automatic update all apps?

Yes there is. Via play store go to settings->Network preferences->Auto-update apps.

Google Play crashes

On my Oneplus One,
Google play updated itself but it crashes every time I start it.
I can go to apps, uninstall updates and the old version of Google Play work but it keeps updating to the latest version which does not work.
Can I stop Google Play from updating to the latest version.
Uncheck automatic updates for the app

Google Play not auto-updating apps

Google Play doesn't seem to want to auto-update apps on my device, it's been like this for a few weeks since I clean installed of YNG1TAS17L, so I have to do it manually. It worked once when I set the option to "Auto-update apps at any time" but I can't risk using this as it would use up mobile data.
Any ideas on what the issue could be?

Are your Google Play Services updated?
Is your Google Play Store updated?
Did you try rebooting the device?
Have you forced stop or disabled any Google service?

Google Play Services is 7.3.29 (That's dated April 21st, but matches my Nexus 7 version and apps auto-update fine)
Play Store is 5.5.12
Also had lots of reboots
Only Google Play Movies & TV, Play Music, and Hangouts have been frozen
Also, my device installs new apps from the Play store when initiated from Google Play on a desktop PC no problem, but all the updates are still ignored, despite needing no permission changes.

Did you try changing the settings to default for Google Play Store?
Clear data and clear cache of this app
Reboot and try
If still it doesn't work, I guess you need to reinstall the OS

Didn't work either, guess I'm out of luck. I'll update manually for now until next COS 12 release

Schedule Google Play Updates

I tried running my phone without GApps but very quickly realised that I needed access to Google Play.
There are ways to download apks from the Play store without an account but then you never get any updates.
I am not philosophically opposed to the Google services but I am trying to reduce the number of background apps running.
Is there a way to freeze and only turn on Google Play services when opening the Play store and once a week to check for updates?
If your phone is rooted go for "greenify" i guess.
That helped my search.

Play Store updates after 'other source' installed apps?

Edited...
Just recently Google Contacts became available for everyone (not pixel specific anymore). I have the app installed through APKMirror. Now that it's available from the Play store also for my device (OP5), do I need to remove my APKMirror version (and install the one from Play store) for play store to offer new updates?
So is there some 'header info' or anything in the App preventing Play store to offer updates for the Google Contacts?
Hoping the same (general availability) happens for Google Phone (Dialer).
// Timo
There seems to be definitely a difference on the version I have installed from APK mirror as the Store update version hasn't been offered from the play store...
// Timo
Any follow-up on this anyone ?
So if I have originally installed app 'X' from APKMirror (as hasn't yet been available from the Play Store) > it later becomes available from Play store > HOW (other than un-installing the app 1st) am I able to get updates through the Play Store? Or do I need to remove the APKMirror installation first and re-install the app 'X' through Play Store?

Play Store Glitch

Hi, my android headunit has the google play store on it because its basically a android tablet.
Google maps is updating in the play store but it is just pending endlessly and makes it so i cant update or install any other app.
When i try to cancel the update of google maps the play store crashes.
I've already deleted the cache and data of the play store but the problem doesn't go away
If you can roll back Gmaps to the factory load version do so.
If you can do that, block Gmap updates in Playwhore settings. Playstore is always a pain, I keep it disabled.
