I just got my Hurricane yellow xiaomi 13 today
I am so pumped about it
I got it from eBay and the seller unlocked the bootloader and pre-installed the EU rom.
Everything works Great! All the google services, android auto and the banking apps.
I even was surprised to get VoLTE and Wi-Fi calling out of the box.
The update via fastboot was surprisingly easy! and even that not all 4g and 3g bands are supported for me the signal is good and strong.
so if you have any questions feel free to ask.

Where are you located? Which version did you get (Global or China)?
I am from Israel.
This is the China version.
The 512 GB limited edition.

This one
what's the difference if yo get Chinese version of the wine device, not just ROM?
I am note sure what is "wine" device.
Basically the main difference from Global version is the the band support ( you have better support in global version) and in China version you have 512 GB option ( Global max is 256) and for china market only you have special edition colors.
And especially no Esim.
But in global version there is no Esim as well, it's lacking feature on both versions and not difference...

I'm curious as to how this all works for the US. Just making sure I got things accurate here.
1. Chinese version = no Google, International version = Google?
2. International Version launches how much later than initial Chinese models?
3. Looking at the bands, the 8/256 model supports band 13 (VZW). Is this still not the international model?
4. Best place to snag one?
5. International model recommended?
6. Anything else I need to know?
Lol thanks all!!!
1) if we follow the Mi Mix 2 and Mi Mix 2S hardware wise the international and Chinese version will be the same. Just the OS is different. Chinese version has indeed no Google apps. However they can be added using an app from Miui market or reflashed with global firmware
2) International should launch 8th Nov together with Xiaomi entering the UK
3) Like above, the models will probably be the same, for EU all importants bands are supported on the different variants
4) A true international model you get via international channels (Amazon etc). 'Global' devices bought in China are mostly Chinese versions flashed with global firmware
5) Personal preference, I'd say the one with the most bands (8GB)

I think the current aliexpress prices are pretty much the same as the global Amazon prices, but only time will tell. These xiaomi devices tend to drop quite a bit in price in the first months, I decided to wait until atleast the Chinese holidays like 11-11 or black Friday before ordering one.

I didn't see that with mix 1, then I again they were hard to come by, the s8+ dropped more in few months than the mix has in 2 year's, granted the s8+ has held up since, the more you pay the more you loose
Just bought as a new customer on aliexpress thru the Xiaomi Store. I paid 622 for the 8gb/ 128Gb version.
Hope it comes soon! I just could not wait any longer.

1) one of the tech websites had a notice that Xiaomi came the 8th to the UK and would launch their flagship MI mix 3 there, that would follow the same pattern as with the MI mix 2 in Spain last year. Of course they could also just launch their MI 8 flagship and thus the info is wrong.
2) for the Netherlands I only care about band 8 and 20, these are supported by both variants if I recall correctly
3) you'll have to be carefull with buying a global one in China, most are Chinese versions with a vendor rom.

Hello everyone.
I want to buy Mix3 in online chinese markets as soon as it's available, I don't want to wait January when it will be available in Italy.
The question is: can I buy the Mix3 online in China and flash xiaomi.eu ROM or another i want? Or the Chinese Xiaomi phones are locked?
same here!
i have a friend in China for a couple of weeks. wanting him to buy there and bring back to USA for T-Mobile use. Can i get a global version or flash a global ROM to a Chinese version phone. I would assume an unlocked phone from a store there could work just fine. That is my hope.

thanks. that makes me kinda want to wait. If looking at the GSMArena specs, its got most of T-Mobiles bands...but If sometime later there may be a UK/Global model maybe its best not to grab one from China quite yet. But that is a gamble weather it would even support those 2 missing T-Mobile bands anyways, but at least there would be a better ROM for it.
Ya, I want the phone for the L1 + L5 GPS GNSS but it lacks Band 71. Google always tries to copy Apple too much and cannot put GNSS bands into their pixel 3. You would have thought they would have done that (besides I hate the stupid chin-pull out speakers would be awesone though). What I can tell the 256GB has B66 while the 128GB lacks B66. If anyone would confirm that?? Sounds like GNSS phones are MIA except by China.

Another question:.
Will the European version have the same rom? Because most languages are already supported on the Chinese version?
Will it be likely that LTE b7 and b20 bands be included?
I've never had a Huawei phone. What's the possibility of them being rooted or can custom roms be installed on them?

I read about that too. But that just means you have to pay more for the phone basically (extra $55 for the unlock code). Unless somebody finds a way to unlock the bootloader without asking for money. I like the Honor Magic 2 better than the MI MIX 3 but the Mi Mix is more developer friendly

Hopefully Huawei changes their mind. I like the look of the Honor Magic 2 better than the Mi Mix 3 and I would prefer to have a wide-angle camera as well. The Mi Mix 3 though has excellent global band support though, which is important for those of us who live in North America.
Answer from official UK Honor Support :
Dear Nik,
Thank you for contacting Honor Support - UK .
The Honor Magic 2 is available, as you stated only in the Asian regions.
You will not be able to buy the device from Asia and make it compatible with the European markets.
This is because we create devices that are locked in certain regions and this is not changeable.
As of now we do not have a release date or idea if there will be one for the UK market.
If you wish to get any other information about Honor UK devices, I am more than glad to answer you.
Should you have any further inquiries, please do not hesitate to contact us.
Best regards,
Ben

If it's for Colombia, the phone needs to be FCC-certified, otherwise you won't be able to get it approved for use in the country.
In case of Redmi Note 7, it has already been certified: https://fccid.io/2AFZZ-RMSF7G https://fccid.io/2AFZZ-RMSF7H
Redmi Note 7 Pro is not FCC-certified yet. If it actually gets certified, I'd assume it would happen not long after the global version launch, which would probably happen next month since the China launch is only happening next week.
I'm subscribing to this thread. Looking for availability to UK
It has been released today in China. It will go on sale on March 22nd; that means it will be available on Aliexpress very soon. But i doubt it will have B20
Which device do I buy?
I have a question ... I buy the PocoPhone F1 or I wait for this Redmi Note 7 Pro in my country ???
Note: I am not interested in the camera, only the performance and autonomy. I do not know if the SD 675 is more powerful than the SD 845 since it is more recent. Thanks!!!

If performance and autonomy is most important for you, go for Pocophone. The price difference between the 2 is not really noticeable but performance is. F1 is much more powerful than RN7pro :good:

No Redmi Note has NFC.
It took me a while to come to the conclusion that the next upgrade to my Whyred (redmi note 5 Ai)
will be Mi CC9 no thanks to Xiaomi who keeps confusing us with a range of similar phones in the same bracket.
So, while I just made my decision I head that Xiaomi are launching Mi CC9 globally as Mi 9 lite and it doesn't it
get more confusing or cast some doubt about me getting the CC9? whats the difference in hardware/cost?
Well, having threaded this part while deciding to buy Redmi Note 5 ai about a year ago, I think I have learned
some few things I might want to share here:
HARDWARE DIFFERENCES
There are no hardware differences but Mi 9 lite has additional FDD LTE Bands
B1,2,3,4,5,7,8,20,28 TDD B38, 40.
That's about all it and I think it's more of a modem difference as it is with most Xiaomi phones.
COST DIFFERENCE
that's a bummer! At ~$352 makes you wonder why I wouldn't pick Mi 9T ( you lose IR, gain & enjoy no notch and no Micro sd) but then, there is no sane person that won't choose SD 730 over the Older SD710. It makes no sense at all.
I paid extra $25 dollars to get the Global variant of Redmi Note 5 Ai only to realize that the China version gets better/quicker firmware updates. To make it worse, I waited 720 hours, unlocked my bootloader and has been using custom Roms on the phone since then so, why exactly did I pay extra $25 for?
FIRMWARE DIFFERENCES
I think both phones will likely not get Android 11 but will certainly get Android 10. Following Xiaomi trend, Mi CC9 may be the 1st to get the new firmware. Mi 9 lite firmware will most likely be flashed on Mi CC9 with an unlocked bootloader. Xiaomi.eu ROMs are already available for Mi CC9.
CONCLUSION
I would normally have picked Mi 9 lite over Mi CC9 but the ~$100 difference is not worth it. I mostly use custom Roms, my main
language is English (available in both) and my data network LTE is Band 3 ( also available in both) so I think I will be fine.
There are a sales in Aliexpress where Mi CC9 is $245 I've already put in the cart but something is telling me the price could go further down bc of Mi 9 lite. So, while I wait for the deal of the year, I will be rocking my whyred for some few weeks.
Let me hear from you if you are already Using Mi CC9. What do you think about the new Mi 9 lite?
thanks for the post
$245 is a pretty good price for cc9 considering it's selling for around $239 in China with discount.
However, you said that the bands are different. I wonder if it's software enabled, or are there hardware differences?
i.e. Can I get the same bands using a cheaper cc9 and flash it with EU rom?
Personally I'm in the same dilemma. I love the cc9 or even the cc9e/a3, but can't stand how they priced it for overseas markets. So I'll probably get a Chinese version, but can't be sure if they will be compatible with global ROM. cc9 seems promising with EU compatibility, but no word on whether cc9e can take an a3 rom yet.
Is there any way, to distinguish REAL Mi 9 Lite (especially EU variant) from CC9? Many unofficiall resellers already sell eg. china version of Mi 8 Lite with rebranded Global ROM as REAL Global Mi 8 Lite, but they don't tell that China version does not support eg. LTE B20. And as far as I know, there is little chance to "catch" that devices. Is it the same with Mi 9 Lite? Can one sell CC9 with such rebranded Global ROM, that is seen as Mi 9 Lite?
P.S. Was the CC9 available ONLY in China, or in other Asian countries as well eg. Indonesia?

If you are buying online there is no way you can tell till you get your hands on the device.
If the price is way cheaper than the global version then that could be a great indicator
that you are buying rebranded Chinese version.
If you are buying from let's say Aliexpress, state it clearly in your order notes then use it as evidence to open a dispute against the seller.
If you have the device:
1) Use fastboot to check the bootloader status.
2) Check the Widevine Level (L1 is global L3 is Chinese models)
3) Check and compare the Rom name and build numbers with official xiaomi records in MIUI forum.
From the 3 above you can verify if the hardware is CHina or global version.
I paid an extra $25 to get the global version of Redmi Note 5 Pro and have been using custom ROM with it since I unlocked it. could have gone for the Chinese version then.
I've move my choice of next upgrade from Mi cc9 becasue of poor dev activity here.
I got a better deal for Realme X2 with SD 730G and a better AMOLED screen. Still looking at the Dev community response on that one.

1) Bootloader is locked, checked both in fastboot and in developer options.
2) Widevine is L1
3) Official build numbers looks the same.
So I probably have a legit Mi 9 Lite

I have the device with me, already purchased. And I want to check if it is legit Mi 9 Lite or rebranded CC9.

In one of the local resellers (unofficial) in Poland. Xiaomi Product Authentication website shows that the phone was delivered to Indonesia. That's why I asked.
why dev activity for this phone is so poor?
is it gonna change or i should consider another Xiaomi model?

This device is too new, why users can't understand this ?
Now there is not price difference between CC9 and Mi 9 Lite both ~ 230 $ for 64GB version and ~250$ for the 128 GB

The Price difference now between CC9 and Mi 9 Lite ranges from $30 to $60 which is good I am now seriously eying Realme X2 - the only significant thing i will miss is IR blaster which I don't use much nowadays but the things to be gained
Extra 2GB of RAM
Dedicated SD card slot
SD730G > SD710
VOOC 4 30 watts charger
The of Realme Global version 8/128 is similar to Mi 9 lite 6/128 not more than $15 difference for the best deals.
I am seriously Worried about Development for both as the Older Mi CC9 has attracted more Devs and Realme X2
is newer but then, I have to go with the one that has more future proof...
