Use Odin to flash latest TWRP from @Android-Andi's thread in development section. Use TWRP to flash @Chainfire's SuperSU. Wipe Cache and Dalvik cache in TWRP Wipe > Advanced wipe. Please reply to this if you need more help.
I downloaded hte latest one and i flashed it using oden. When I go to boot into recovery though by holding power button and volume down, after the splash green i get an upright green android for a second then it switches to the android laying on his back with the red triangle coming out of his stomach and the text "No Command" under him. then it goes to the android system recovery. any ideas why i can't get twrp to work? i downloaded GT-I8190_TWRP_2.7.1.1.tar.md5.zip

Flash it again in Odin but this time uncheck auto reboot. After it finishes flashing, wait 10 seconds, unplug the tab, and boot into recovery (power + volume up.) Then flash SuperSU in recovery and wipe cache and Dalvik.

On my tab its volume up (because it's 7-inch.) Glad you got recovery. Yes, superuser has to be flashed to root. Flashing will install the apk in the system partition and get the su binaries in place. Installing the apk won't because it cannot access the system partition. Once it is flashed, you will be rooted and can access the system and root partition.

yeah i think i unzipped it before i put it on the sdcard of the tablet. So all I had was the apk, I redownloaded the zip and flashed it and i think i'm all good now. Gonna try a rom now, any suggestions for a minimalistic rom tweaked for max performance?

SlimKat is. Flash it and Slim Mini Gapps, reboot, do setup, reboot back into recovery and flash AA-Anykernel Slim Test2 and Vendor-Blobs for great performance and battery life. Recovery is volume up on the tab 10, it just looks like down because the volume buttons are reversed on that tab. If you boot into the system and push what you think (and I thought) is volume down, it will go up. I had this tab earlier and it was confusing :/

EDIT: after you flash SlimKat, you do not need to flash superuser or SuperSU. SlimKat is a rooted ROM.

me176c(same intel Bay Trail Z3745 and simular spec) has firmware in asus website, but me181c don't. so, i cannot do anything
I don't know if the OP fixed his boot issue, but I wanted to post my experience with this tablet. I tried to root using RootZenFone 1.4.2 and it failed. Found a newer version 1.4.5r so I uninstalled 1.4.2. Then disaster struck. Now, keep in mind, I copy my downloads to my SD card and delete them from the device in case I need the files again or I brick the device and have to return it.
I went ahead a rebooted and ended up with the No Command and the dead Android. Holding the Volume Up while pressing power put me into fastboot, so I tried to do a recovery from there. No dice, same No Command. I tried simply powering off and tried again. Still either No Command or just Fastboot. While in fastboot, I tried to use Kango to root (Hoping it'd fix whatever damage RootZenFone did) and kept getting NeedADB errors. Obviously I couldn't turn on USB debugging.
Then, I decided one last ditch effort before I took the tablet back to best buy (Technically I hadn't voided the warranty since it never did root and attempting to root would be virtually impossible to detect since no files were left on the device - they're on my SD card). I powered off the tablet. While the tablet was still plugged into my PC, I held BOTH the Volume Up and Volume Down buttons and then pressed power. I got the typical ASUS logo, which I was getting before the No Command and Fastboot, but this time the tablet just sat there at that logo. I let it be for a few minutes while I took the dogs out. Maybe about 10 minuted. Suddenly, I heard the new device sound from my PC. it was installing the MTP driver! Looking at the tablet, it now had the Intel Inside logo (That I did not get while I was having boot issues) and about 45 seconds later the tablet is booted normally.
So, for what it's worth, I'd say hold both volume buttons as you power it on and see what happens.
Stock ROMs and Kernel Source for ME181C
Looks like we now have Stock ROMs and kernel source for ME181C on asus dot com at;

I have model K011, which I think is ME181C.
needing help
First, i would like to say sorry i am not sure how i would post under the correct area. Just saw the reply so figured i would write here.
I have been doing research on how to fix my Trio Stealth-10 ( thought it was a 10.1 but now not sure) MST10-21. 16 gb.
I have done all the factory resets and erasing data and what not under the boot load (not sure if thats what it was called) but the one where i hold down the power button and the vol - did all that i can get my tablet to connect and do all i need it to but now it isnt downloading any aps under google play or updating them so i just have a factory tablet that i cannot add anything on. sometimes will seem like it tried to down load and will just say no internal storage or memory something like that has not said anything lately since i have tried today.
please break things down barney style for me as well i can do comp stuff sometimes but i will say all of you on this site are much smarter then me thanks for the help guys
oh if i can have someone tell me where to actually post this would be awesome
Asus ME181C k011 Bootloop Fix
I bit the bullet today and put this thing in a bootloop to test a restore method. Happy to say it worked. Here we go:
1. https://cloud.mail.ru/public/2b47381cb37c/ADB.rar - This contains adb and fastboot if you don't already have them installed. This also contains the system image that we're going to use temporarily to get this thing restored.
2. Hook it up to your computer and load up Fastboot on the tablet (Volume+ and Power while booting. Let go of power after the logo shows up).
3. Flash the System image ( fastboot flash system system.img) followed by the boot image (fastboot flash boot boot.img)
4. Reboot.
5. https://www.androidfilehost.com/?fid=95857557620392052 - Next, we're going to use a temp version of CWM-Recovery to reinstall firmware. Enable USB debugging, run launcher.bat, type "ACCEPT" and choose T3.
6. You'll auto reboot into CWM-Recovery. Grab the official firmware from the Asus site and install the zip from SD. Once complete, you'll need to reroot the device most likely. If you have a SuperSU zip, install it after you've restored the system.
You're done. This also opens us up for just about anything. Go play with your system. As long as you don't mess up your boot loader, this should save you.
Thanks so much RemmyLee
i just wanted to join and say thanks to RemmyLee.
i rooted my me181c and deleted a whole bunch of stuff i shouldn't.
i could get in to recovery but after that "No Command" screen it wouldn't do a thing. i followed RemmyLee's instructions up to step 4 and then did a reboot as told. Whereupon it found the extracted UL-K011-WW-3.1.23.172-user.zip on the root of my SD card and asked me to do an update which succeeded.
Thanks RemmyLee !

Please help! I did exactly as you said, but when I get into CWM and choose the file from my sdcard, it comes back and says:
Code:
Finding update package...
Opening update package...
Installing update...
Installation aborted.
And goes straight back to the menu. No error messages or anything.
There is another zip file inside UL-K011-WW-3_1_23_172.zip.
1) Extract UL-K011-WW-3_1_23_172.zip
2) Rename UL-K011-WW-3.1.23.172-user.zip to user.zip.
Then follow Tethered CWM recovery steps.

Team Win Recovery Project 3.0.3-0
WARNING: The stock boot image has dm-verity, which prevents you from booting if you swipe to enable system modifications!
SOLUTION: Flash a root such as SuperSU or phh-superuser. You can also flash no-verity-opt-encrypt.zip.
A message to those with other variants of the G5:
The H850 International variant is the only one with an official bootloader unlock from LG.
Should there be a time where your flashing mechanisms get cracked, simply mention my name on this thread or via private message and I would be happy to create a thread with TWRP for your device.
I have device trees ready for ALL variants of the G5, pending their unlock!
WHAT IS TWRP?
Oh come on, you know what it is - don't try to fool me!
In case you're serious, though...
Team Win Recovery Project is a custom recovery for Android devices.
It allows you to back up and restore your data, flash custom ROMs to your device, repair broken file systems, and root your device.
DOWNLOAD
You can find the device page here:
https://twrp.me/devices/lgg5h850.html
FULL STEPS FOR OBTAINING ROOT
Follow LG's bootloader unlocking instructions here before you begin!

Download the latest TWRP .img for your device from this thread or twrp.me.
Use the same fastboot tool you downloaded in the LG unlock instructions to flash TWRP using the command:
Code:
fastboot flash recovery twrp-x.x.x-x-h850.img
* Replace x.x.x-x with the actual version you are flashing!
Now you can either power off your phone and boot into recovery using the button combo [Volume Down] + [Power], or you can run this command in fastboot:
Code:
fastboot boot twrp-x.x.x-x-h850.img
At this point, you will see the TWRP splash and reach a screen asking you if you want to allow system modifications.
By swiping right, you will trigger dm-verity, and if you don't follow step 8 you will be unable to boot!
If you are going to root your device or follow the rest of these steps, then it is safe to swipe right and enable modifications.
Only if you want internal storage or data to work in TWRP:
Go to [Wipe] -> [Format Data] (not advanced wipe) -> type "yes".
WARNING: This will wipe your internal storage, disable encryption, and factory reset your phone!
Go to [Reboot] -> [Recovery].
Please consider backing up your stock boot partition in TWRP before proceeding to the next steps!
If you want to be rooted with SuperSU:
Download the latest SuperSU stable by Chainfire.
Without exiting TWRP, transfer the SuperSU zip to your device over MTP* and flash it using [Install] in TWRP.
-or-
If you only want a bootable system partition or writable data in TWRP:
Download dm-verity and force encryption disabler.
Without exiting TWRP, transfer the no-verity-opt-encrypt zip to your device over MTP* and flash it using [Install] in TWRP.
Go to [Reboot] -> [System].
Wait 2-5 minutes for your device to finish setting itself up.
* MTP, known as Media Transfer Protocol, is the same way you transfer files from your PC to your device when booted into system.

Is the Sprint variant H850? I don't think so. You need to have an unlocked bootloader which has currently only become available this morning for the H850 European variant.
Thanks for this! Time to go buy my G5 now (Australia's a bit behind the times, only became available yesterday lol)

Same problem here.
Following instructions found here
For TWRP to "stick" you must first boot directly into TWRP and not back into Android, until after flashing the SuperSU zip.
After flashing TWRP unplug the USB cable and pull the battery. Plug battery back in then boot into recovery which should hopefully load TWRP.
To boot into recovery:
a. Using 2 hands.. use one hand/finger to press/hold volume down.. and use the other hand for the power button. Press n hold both buttons.
b. As soon as you see the LG logo on the screen.. let go of the power button then quickly press it again (never letting go of volume down).
c. Keep holding until you see the Factory Reset screen. Click thru the factory reset screens.. Yes.. Yes...
10. You will not be able to decrypt your internal data while in TWRP but you can manually mount your external SD card to view the SuperSu zip. Feel free to back up first.. but otherwise.. time to install SuperSu. Click the Install button and navigate to the external_sd, select the SuperSu zip then swipe to install. Now you're rooted and TWRP'd! Reboot into system...

Just followed the instructions here to the letter. Didn't do anything different. Only thing I can think of is that I let the phone boot fully after unlocking and then installed twrp after that. Not even sure if that can affect anthing
Recovery hangs at TWRP splash screen.
My PC sees Recovery ADB device connected (in Device Manager), but ADB program doesn't see any device, so I can't get logs.
I think you are the first user with working twrp. 99.9% of all other user dit not work.

If that was the reason behind it working, i cant imagine there is away to do that once the device is unlocked and how long did it take to get into TWRP
Works perfectly for me. Flashed TWRP, flashed SuperSU, then finally flashed V4A and it's all working perfectly.

Hi, in this post Im going to share with you all my tutorials for the Y360 in only one post and translated to english. You can follow this guides regardless for your Y360 variant, however, the firmware file im giving you guys here is for the U61, do not try to flash this firmware if you dont have a U61.
How to install stock rom (firmware) on the Y360-U61What we are gonna need in this first part is the Mediatek Driver, the Sp Flash Tool and the firmware files.
Driver Mediatek Y360:
https://mega.nz/#!dzxBnDpb!c37qAbpfJ5FPB2BwCCglBentRcgBReLhT6UjULxQ3L8
Option 2:https://androidmtk.com/download-mtk-usb-all-drivers
SP Flash Tool:
https://mega.nz/#!9uI3wDxL!07YMWuwPPoJ1uYTUnSLSuFgUEruy3iS__M4GVb3-ayI
Option 2: https://spflashtool.com/
Firmware stock Y360-U61 (B116): https://mega.nz/#!4zJzFKjR!kROGPkFXtK-xp7yH7pIWia3eLbVMf7gdVSOEjWJJYVo
PLEASE READ
- Files have RAR5 compression, you'll need Winrar 5
- Password: Tecnoriales
Before you start, unrar all 3 files and instal MTK Drivers.
1. Run Sp Flash Tool as Admin, check that in Downlaod Agent says MTK_AllInOne_DA.bin, and in Scatter put the one tha is inside the firmware folder.
2. Leave everything as is and press Download, turn off your Y360-U61 and plug it to your PC using an USB cable.
3. If the drivers were properly installed, Sp Flash Tool will recognize your phone and start writing data to it automatically. This will take some minutes.

4. When the process is done you will see a green check and the phone will be shutdown. Now is safe to close Sp FlashTool, disconnect your phone and turn in on.
5. Since this is a first boot and Android have to build caches and stuff it might take some time and even restart itself in the process. Eventually you'll reach the setup wizard. If you end up with a bootloop, ramdom reboots, etc, perform a Factory reset from the recovery menu.
How to perform a factory reset from the recovery in the Y360To do this you dont need a custom recovery, it can be done using the stock recovery that comes on your Y360.
1. Turn off your Y360 and press Vol+ y Power until you see the white text.
2. With Vol+ select recovery and press Vol- to enter.
3. Your y360 will reboot and enter into the recovery menu
4. Once on the recovery, use volume keys to go up and down and power to select. Go to Wipe data / Factory Reset
5. Go to Yes and press Power, the hard reset will start, it takes seconds. You can see the status in the log at the bottom of the screen.
6. Go back to the man menu of the recovery and select Reboot system Now pressing Power. Your 360 will reboot.
7. Again, this will be a long boot since Android has to build caches and stuff. Luckily your phone will be trouble free once it boots up and you complete the setup wizard.
In this video you can see how to flash the firmware and how to perform the hard reset from the recovery menu. You can also notice how was getting random reboots after flashing the firmware and i solved this performing the factory reset.

Update Y360 via OTAThe firmware i left is B116 which i think is the latest an has no updates.
For Information purposes:
The firmware i gave you is B104, but in the huawei servers exist the b107 patch. So the very first thing you should do after installing the firmware is updating. Specially if you plan on rooting, OTAs will break root.
Once your y360-U61 is up and running, connect to a wifi network and go to Settings to run the updater. Like i said you will find the B107 update, which is about 90MB.
After the download is complete you have to give the order to install the update, from now on the process is automatic, the phone will restart and the update will be installed.
Once it finishes, you can go to updates again to check your version, it should be B107 and it should say there's no more updates.
Install TWRP for the Huawei Y360TWRP is a custom recovery which allows you to flash zips to modify or change your system. You need the mediatek drivers, sp flashtool and the .img file of TWRP.

5. Your 360 will restart and boot into TWRP, since this is the first time you will see a prompt about allowing TWRP to modify your system, swipe the slider control at the bottom of the screen to accept.
Now that you have a custom recovery you can flash zip files to root, install xposed, install custom roms, etc...
Root the Huawei Y360 (SuperSu)To do this you need to have TWRP and the zip file with SuperSu.
Root Y360 (SuperSu):

2. Go to your external_SD and select the Zip file
3. Slide the control on the bottom of the screen to flash the zip file. It will take seconds.
4. When is done tap on reboot system now and wait for the phone to get ready. You might see android optimizing some apps.
5. You will have SuperSu on your launched and your phone fully rooted. This is an old version so you will get soon the Update from Google play.
In this video you can see how to install TWRP and how to root. Is in spanish

firmware zip password is wrong
My Huawei is bricked
Hi,
my Huawei Y360-U61 dual-SIM boots but then blocks with continuous pop-ups or reboots.
I tried to update the firmware ROM via MicroSD card using many versions (full update and OTAs) from a website that provides many ROM versions, but without success. When I boot in recovery mode it says that the firmware version is Y360-U61V100R001C577B111 (I found and tried with this and successive versions without success), and I always perform a factory reset after updating and rebooting. I also tried connecting my phone to my laptop then using SP flash tools with the firmware version you provided on this thread (that should correspond to version V100R001C480B104c for the device model Y360-U23, or V100R001C443B104, or Y360-U31V100R001C05B104 both for the device model Y360-U31), I also tried in fastboot mode and ADB mode, again without success. My phone was bought in Italy about 3 years ago (2015 or so), and maybe I inadvertently rooted it, then tried to have an unblock code from Huawei consumer support but they eventually said that there is no code for my smartphone.
Before throwing away my phone, do you have any hint in this regard on how to eventually solve the problem?
Thank you
Bruno

I found and tried with success a way to install TWRP without the need of a PC:
- Root your device with KingRoot (APK is available on apkpure.com);
- Install MobileUncleTool (I found version 3.0 here: https://androiddatahost.com/414a2 )
- Download a custom recovery in SD Card root (the one in the opening post)
- Start Mobileuncle Tools and open Recovery Update menu item (grant su permissions when asked)
- Select and install the just downloaded custom recovery

Rebooting as described with Vol up + Home + Power does not work.
Tried this 3 times now. Warrenty Void is still 0, so I assume it was really not working.
What can I do?
I saw a different method to boot to recovery in this video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=g2pXwAIh6m4
But I am worried to brick my device if I boot into something broken.

No, just reboot your phone manually
Reboot manually = volume down + powerbutton for 7-10 sec
Recoverymode= volume up+ power button+ homebutton
*IMPORTANT!!!!!* if you boot in twrp it will ask you to swipe to allow modifications at that point you MUST root your device or install a custom rom, because if you allow modifications twrp starts modifying stuff in your /system folder and that triggers drk permanently or else you must use a jtag box to repair it and that is very expansive
People get drk error when they flash stock rom and they have flashed and swiped to allow modifications in twrp,
It wont break your device btw, if it does you always have xda developers we can fix everything together
But if it really does break you can flash stock rom if you are new to this then just tell me i can give you precise instructions for free
Thanks for your detailed reply!

My plan was, to save my current system, then flash LineageOS and maybe flash back the old system if something is not working correctly. If I get you right, I have to root first? But if I root first, everything will work fine?
Btw: What is drk?

Ok so i think its better to start fresh, google the following "samfirm" (without quotes) now there should be a thread in xda developers download the program from there and extract it (it doesnt require any installation, now enter your phone's model and region click on auto and click search it should give you the latest version for your country now just download it and wait for it to decrypt now extract the AP, BL, Cp, and csc file download odin (MUST USE THE LATEST VERSION) because samsung has started using a new file extension called lz4 and older odins cannot flash that now run the latest version of odin as admin and select the ap file in ap, bl in bl, cp in cp and csc in csc (do not select home csc) now flash and everything should be alright just wait untill your phone boots up, ( first boot on all roms take 5min +/- ) then go back to download mode, and flash twrp
Options for stock rom: auto reboot, f.reset time, nand erease all,
Options for twrp: just uncheck auto reboot
Now after flashing twrp reboot phone manually AND DIRECTLY boot in twrp
Now swipe to allow modifications
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- FROM NOW ON YOUR WARRANTY HAS BEEN VOID!!! ALSO DRK IS GONE PERMENENTLY!
If your warranty is void knox will be tripped and ALL knox apps like samsung pay will be DISABLED FOREVER and there is NO WAY TO REVERSE THIS!!!
Now make sure you connect your phone to your pc and download magisk (thats a alternative root method in my opinion magisk is better then supersu because it can hide root from apps like snapchat, pokemon go and ANDROID PAY (and many more apps not allowing root)
Copy and paste the magisk zip (magisk v17.1 is latest now)
Go to install and search the zip file then swipe to install zip, now your phone is rooted, you can now reboot in your system,
Now if you want the custom rom, go to twrp, make a backup (ESPECIALLY OF EFS AND BASEBAND )
if these are lost then its your fault, and its also VERY HARD to repair it after backing up go to wipe and Wipe the following: Dalvik cache, cache, system, data DO NOT WIPE INTERNAL STORAGE
Now you are ready to flash the rom first boot may take a while and also it may have a bootloop just keep it looping and it will stop
If you decide to go back to stock you will get stuck at the s7 edge screen or get a drk error just go back to download mode and flash cf autoroot (that is supersu but you flash it with pc)
And yes, i know so many text and steps but there is no other choice i tried to make it simple as possible
If you follow this instructions precisely then nothing should go wrong

Oh and, no its finished it looks like there is 1% left but you can simply reboot so you can skip the stock rom steps i'm sorry i didn't read your post correctly
Uhm... First: Thanks
The samfirm tool seems to be deprecated. The thread says, I should use fw.updato.com
My Problem is, I should enter my region. Where do I get my phones region?
But why do I actually need to flash a new firmware before installing TWRP?
Sorry if my question are a bit noobish

I tried doing this now, installing TWRP was successful. When trying to install Magisk it "Failed to mount '/data' (Invalid argument)" and "Unable to mount storage". The same happend while trying to backup. As mentioned in some other threads (like here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=T-7neHzSIvc) I tried changing the File System to exFat. (And back to ext4 afterwards) I am stuck in Formatting... screen with "Formatting Data using mkexfatfs... Done." now. There is no button to continue to anything, just a bar that signalizes that there is something in process. Nothing changes. I am in this screen for over an hour now.
^
EDIT: Now after like 2hrs I get "E:recv error on uevent" multiple times. And this is not stopping...
EDIT: I've seen this: https://www.xda-developers.com/twrp-3-2-0-released-android-8-0-oreo-zips/
So, after 8hrs of nothing, I rebooted. But I just get to the TWRP starting Screen. Odin Mode is still working, so I tried flashing TWRP 3.1.1.0. Stuck in boot screen, too.
I reflashed Stock now. I can use my phone again. Your explanation how to flash stock was very useful! Now everything from the beginning
I finally made it to install Magisk. There was a crucial step missing: Go to wipe>format data and type yes. That fixed the problem "unable to mount data" and "unable to mount storage".
It finally worked! Installed LineageOS successfully!
Thanks for your help! I would not have made it without it

That's great if you have a windows computer, what do you do if you are a Linux user!
I have the same problem on Samsung S4 GT-I9195I kitkat 4.4.4 and an ubuntu 20.04 with adb and heimdall installed.
My procedure
Turn off Phone by long pressing the Power button;
Boot into Recovery mode (Home + Volume Up + + Power)
Wipe /data – Factory reset
Wipe /cache
Reboot and quickly after hitting reboot, into Download mode (Home + Volume Down + Power)
Code:
sudo heimdall detect
getting the img file from here.
Code:
sudo heimdall flash --RECOVERY twrp-3.7.0_9-0-serranoltexx.img --no-reboot
Volume down + Power to restart manually
Home + Volume Up + Power to boot into recovery mode
But what I get is the following:
No matter how I manually reboot to get into the recovery, I get this instead of a proper TWRP recovery.
Any idea?

Heimdall auto reboot also if you don't tell --no-reboot
Don't listen to people saying odin is needed , it's usually not, heimdall is fine.
@giammi56 Are you sure the recovery partition on this device is called "RECOVERY"? Some older devices have a partition with that name, but the actual recovery partition is called something else. You can run
Bash:
heimdall download-pit --output check.pit
This will download the current partition table from the device itself, which is good to have and also ensures proper USB connectivity. Then, read the partition layout using
Bash:
heimdall print-pit --file check.pit | less
Look for the entry that has "recovery.img" as the flash filename and use that one. Also, for some devices the name could be diffrent, so if there isn't one you will need to do further research.
