I've installed magisk without twrp, just follow guide online. No need specific software because 7zip can extract boot.img easily from update file. After that install magisk manager app on phone, select install - patch own boot file, copy modified file to pc again, reboot into bootloader, flash modified boot.img and reboot.

Yes, first unlock BL to be able to enter fastboot mode. Apply to unlock bootloader with Mi account, please follow guide on how to unlock the bootloader.

Hi. Did you do these passages also on MIUI 12? Because I installed Magisk app, but it showed Ramdisk: no, and now I don't know if I should install it in recovery partition or not
there's twrp and orangefox that can be used for cc9 meitu/vela. Unlock bootloader, enable adb, flash custom recovery by fastboot. After that use custom recovery to install magisk. I'm sorry I don't use cc9 anymore since last weekend because miui12 notification and permission is too aggressive, have to restart app everytime so that can get contact info.
Hello y'all, i want to root my phone, i followed several tutorials and installed image file of twrp v 3.2.3 , lazyflasher.zip and magisk.zip . Tried flshing the twrp image file through fastboot, but it is unable to decrypt my data and is asking for a password, installed a later version of twrp v 3.4.0 and tried the same, it was able to decrypt , Now i succesfully entered TWRP and then i first installed the image file but i was not able to install the ladyflasher.zip(error 1 cannot unpack zip file) so i avoided the lazyflasher step and directly tried installing magisk and it said successful, but when my phone rebooted there was no magisk app and my phone is not rooted! Tried with different versions of magisk like v 16 and v 23 , still no effect. Also instead of magisk zip file i installed supersu zip file and still the result is same ( No supersu app on phone and thus not rooted)!
Reflash Stock ROM to get rid off of all mods you applied so far, then retry.
Issue Solved! Thanks for your tip @xXx yYy , but i solved it! Basically the absence of magisk app is not a problem, i manually installed the magisk manager and basically upgraded the magisk version(I flashed v 16 through twrp, magisk manager required v 23 and above) so i clicked install within the app and boom! root access is granted, crazy but anyways it did work , so issue solved
I want to root my A12 but it not work for my phone.please send me a latest version for A127FXXU7BVI1 isBaseband version
Try make it manual by Magisk manager
Install the firmware like the one in your device extract it in pc or in phone like you want
Then do OEM unlocking enable and make unlock boot loader
So now copy the magisk apk and AP from your phone firmware
Now open magisk ater install and inside app click install choose "select and patch file" then open ap by app
Copy new file ap from your phone to pc firmware folder
flash full firmware by odin bl cp csc and new ap
then the device will ask you to factory reset when end re install Magisk manager and check root apk

For OS updates it's enough to flash only super.img. It's inside the AP_[...].tar.md5 file. Extract and tar it, and you can flash it with Odin.
Hi,
I finally got Palladium GSI installed (Android 11)! I rooted my Pixel in the past with Magisk 25.2. Now on my Samsung Galaxy A50 that I installed Palladium, I cannot get root. Here are the steps I did.
RAMDISK=NO in Magisk.
(1) Download Magisk 25.2
(2) extract recovery.img from TWRP 3.6 (that I installed originally)
(3) Open Magisk->Install with recovery mode checked ->NEXT -> select and patch a file -> pick recovery.img -> "let's go"
(4) copy the Magisk patched image to my SD Card
(5) boot into TWRP
(6) Install->Image-> pick the Magisk patched (recovery) image -> select 'recovery' partition -> 'swipe to confirm flash'
(7) reboot to recovery once flashed
(8) open Magisk app, no root
what did I do wrong?
I also tried installing Magisk in TWRP by renaming the extension to 'zip' and flashing, rebooting into recovery... I saw that as another method - didn't work either
I'm soo close trying the two methods above I saw in other XDA forum posts. Did I miss a critical step?
Installation

^ do I need to do the vbmeta steps too? Unsure how I would do that in TWRP though...
vbmeta is afaik patched from maigisk, but you can download vbmeta.img.empty pack it into tar archive and flash from Odin3 as it might still required for twrp in case magisk doesn't work.
This guide assumes you have already unlocked the bootloader and enabled Dev mode and OEM.
1: Download and install the latest Android 13 stock with Odin.
2 Download Magisk apk
3: Copy AP md5 and Magisk to the tablet .
4:Install and run Magisk on the tablet.
5: Choose the AP file and let Magisk patch it.
6: Magisk will store the patched file in the Download folder. Copy it back to the PC
7: Put tha patched file in the AP slot in Odin. No need to rename it.
8: Put the BL and Home in their slots and flash.
9: Once the tablet has reboot and gone through the setup process, run Magisk again to finish the root process.

do you put the HOME MD5 in CSC slot?

No. A factory reset is required so flashing home instead of CSC is pointless.

I used the CSC because I hadn't set anything up anyway. But I think rooting causes a factory reset anyway, which means there is no reason to use HOME.
