Did you buy your device unlocked direct from Google, or did you get it through a carrier?

I unfortunately got it from at&t. I know I should have bought it from Google but I couldn't wait for it to be shipped. I'm gonna have to pay it off aren't I?

Carrier locked variants typically are not bootloader unlockable.

I just wanted to know if anybody knew exactly where I can pay to get an unlock code for my Motorola Droid Ultra (XT1080). I already read the methods, but that taobao thing or whatever, I tried searching all over the internet and I just can't seem to find anything. Could someone please help because I have the money to do it and i would like to do it now.
-Regards
Go to Motorola's site and order a Developer Edition phone (Maxx or X).
Right now that is the only way to get an unlock, in any form.
Sorry, I know that is not the answer you were looking for...

Okay. Well, someone (I forget who), told me that jcase would have a new exploit released in the summer... I mean... SOMEONE out there has to figure it out sooner or later.
Don't get too excited. Jcase method is not persistent and doesn't set WP off. Simply a temp root, not an unlock.

There is no need for an unlock code... All of Vzw's newer 4G LTE phones are factory unlocked, due to a requirement by the FCC

What do you mean the code spl? The codes seemed to just stop being shipped out and lots of people ended up not getting them in time, but there was never really a clear story of what happened to the guy who had been selling them that explained why he stopped. If you know any more about it, please share!

jcase himself has come out saying that the exploit his method used would be pretty inaccessible for the layman anyhow--like there's no way to automate it and make it more dummy-proof, so I doubt we'll ever even get root at all, WP or no. Seeing how many people manage to screw up even the simpler root methods already... yeah, I don't see it happening.
The phone can STILL be unlocked by the Chinese Moto guy for $45 but it has to have been built in 2014. He no longer has the 2013 build codes.

On another thread, there was some discussion about the dates for which the unlock codes are available. Turns out 1/10/2014 is also not good enough.
So, all phones assembled in 2014 do not qualify then, it seems.

The way the sentence above is constructed, it project that ALL phones built in 2014 do not qualify for an unlock code. That's not correct.
The proper way to state that not all 2014 phones have codes would be: most, but not all, phones assembled in 2014 might be unlocked by purchasing the unlock code.

Depending what update is running I'm sure. Plus get the unlocked version that way you get all the features and minimal bloat

Be aware that on VZW with the unlocked device you will not be able to use VoLTE, nor Wifi calling.

Is it time to start guessing what the URL on https://s3.amazonaws.com/oneplussupport/ will be?
My best guess was https://s3.amazonaws.com/oneplussupport/OP7P/guacamole_21.O.07_190512.rar but no luck.
Edit: Found the EU one! https://s3.amazonaws.com/oneplussupport/OP7Pro/guacamole_21_E.08_190515.rar
OnePlus is definitely using this as the root directory: https://s3.amazonaws.com/oneplussupport/OP7Pro/
Does this mean we can unlock the T-Mobile variant with this?

Yes, this program will literally transform the T-Mobile variant into the international version you can buy from OnePlus directly. There is literally no difference between the two, you get the same OTAs as international version just as if you bought it from OnePlus

Has a password, though.
But now we know the filename. This one is apparently for 9.5.4 on the EU model (GM1913). Can't find one for the other builds. Maybe it works for US/Global/India.

I believe the 6t tmobile version after the conversion could get over the air update. U have to.inject the updates manually. Quote me if im wrong but that was one of thw reason why i didnt convert my 6t.

Not true. OTAs worked fine after full conversion.

U should have no issues with OTA, the tool turns ur phone back to as it was in the box, it relock bootloader, u roots and stock recovery, now there are some out there that could be modded to not delete userdata and no relock bootloader which means no incremental OTAs

No but we can at least unlock the bootloader on the T-Mobile version
Permanent SIM unlock can probably be done with fastboot commands after a bootloader unlock.
I should have the US (OnePlus Store, not T-Mobile) MSMdownloadtool tomorrow, with the password. Stay tuned on that front.

Thats only thing I want.
I wont have the tMobile one im in the UK and getting 5G variant and it might be sim locked but want to unlock bootloader and not wait 6 months before they give me unlock code.
I just called OP for the literally the 10th time today.
I told them I don't care about my warranty.. I just want the msm tool and unlock. Bin generator. They said that their technical support team is working on it. They also said they will be sending me an email with either the link for the MSM tool either today or tomorrow.
I doubt they will just give a token generator out but once we Hve our hands on the msm tool. We can sort some things out.
Bought the 3 on eBay from a seemingly reputable seller. Advertised as an unlocked device Received yesterday. Updated immediately to q beta. OEM unlock switch is not usable. Just greyed out. Is it because I'm on q or because they sold me an unlocked Verizon phone? Thanks

Pretty much guaranteed the seller sold you a carrier unlocked Verizon phone. Most people do not associate unlocked with bootloader unlocked.

All Verizon phones, including the Google phones are bootloader locked and are not unlockable. Verizon does not want to sell unlockable phones and has not done so for some time.
The only chance is if someone finds a hack to get it done. There are threads here where those efforts are talked about, there has not been my any real progress. If you want an unlockable bootloader you need to by the pure Google Store version.
