Thanks for your effort

Amazing port, thanks a lot for your effort! Question though, do you think we could ever get face unlock working on this port? It does work on the official CalyxOS builds and other open-source ROMs here do have it I can definitely live just fine without it, but just curious.

Oh yeah no worries, I found out about and use UniversalAuth now with a MacroDroid macro (For automatically unlocking the screen, as it usually just stays on the lock screen after unlock) and it works perfectly well. The only cons of using this method is that you can't use it (Face unlocking) as biometric authentication in apps (You can still only use fingerprint), but rather only on the lock screen, which isn't important to me personally so this method makes your ROM pretty feature-full to me
P.S.: Is clean flash mandatory for the 4.9.2 update if I'm on 4.7.6? You mentioned it being mandatory in the downloads for 4.8.1, but not for this one's.

From 4.7.6 to 4.8.1, we moved from userdebug build to user build, which can cause some conflicts and make the ROM not boot. And from 4.8.1 to 4.9.2, both builds are already user, so dirty flash can be done without issues, but it can still happen that the ROM won't boot, as some people reported happened to them, but others did the dirty flash and had no problems. But it's always recommended to make a backup before doing a dirty flash.

Any version is good, but i always recommend use latest version available

Question, could you please also release your own source code you use so we could build the ROM ourselves? Cuz like, sure you link the source code to the official CalyxOS github repo but the modifications to the builds you release are not open-sourced making the ROM builds we use technically a closed-source blob based on an open-source CalyxOS base, which isn't very good when the end-user's main concern here is privacy.

This is real quick work! Very well done. I have couple of questions though if you don't mind,
Is selinux permissive or enforcing?
Have you managed to get your hands on kernel source somehow? Or is there some other hack in place? Please let us know.

rear cam is working see screenshot.but dunno about camera quality.
portrait mode should work in gcam.but i think secondary 5 mp camera is useless for now in custom roms as pixel mobile dosent have dual camera and gcam uses software based portrait mode.
wait for pixel to release dual camera phones (lol:silly or next version of mia1(if xiaomi implement new camera app) to use new camera app for miui camera.
Nice to see that there's already development going on when the kernel source isn't even published.
I might really consider RN5 Pro when it'll be available in my country. I've never owned Xiaomi before, but the cheap price and the XDA support makes me to choose it, although RN5 Pro seems quite big (I've had phones with max 5 inch before).
@Shahan_mik3 @vasishath, are you gonna publish device and vendor trees? Could be useful for other people who wants to build other ROMs (I don't).

Once it's ready we will....no point at alpha stage they will just spam ROMs with same isssues. 636 is new soc we have to do alot of work with tree.
Also fixing issues will take time as the number of users r very low. I mean super low hence less reports.
Its better to hope for faster kernel source release.xD

I'll take this post for further updates. I am currently working on a OTA alternative for these unofficial builds. Nothing has been stripped or added or modified and it will never be. It will be as it would be in LineageOS 14.1.
Won't this version be as advanced as advanced LOS??
If not, what would be the future updates be..??

No, no tweaks, no additional commits, no OMS, no microG, no nothing. Pure stock. The reason why I stopped with Advanced LineageOS 14.1 is because of those tweaks and lack of time to mess around with them. The updates will be the one only from LineageOS, nothing more.

Trying it out right now. It booted successfully, the setup went smoothly but it seems like it hangs for like 10-ish seconds when changing the accent color to blueberry. That's the only thing I have noticed for now.

Oh, I see. Also, do you maybe know why can't I get Google Assistant to work? The system and Google search language are both set to English but for some reason whenever I try to trigger the Assistant regular Google Search pops up. I have also mapped the home button for the Assistant but it doesn't recognize it and nothing even happens when I hold it. If it matters I flashed the nano OpenGapps package.

No, it's working if you have Oreo as base. And once enabled, then it works even if you flash stock pie as base (that's what Max says, I haven't tried though).
Just dirty flashed your ROM over last crDroid from coderzs. So far, so good, only Xiaomi parts force close. I know I should try a clean flash, but I was to lazy and didn't want to set up from scratch.
Dt2w works as I mentioned, I'm on Oreo base.
Thanks for the ROM mate, keep up the good work...

Can I flash it over PE or do I have to wipe everything? What's the difference between unofficial and official? Thanks

You need to wipe everything (system, cache and data) and the difference between official and unofficial LineageOS it's my unofficial LineageOS build have SELinux status on permissive but official LineageOS build required SELinux status on enforcing and it's not easy to change SELinux status

SELinux status permissive is for debug the phone when he boot and SELinux status enforcing don't allow access to debug the phone during the boot and it's more secure than SELinux status permissive so LineageOS required SELinux status on enforcing for security

To God be the glory, my AOKP Pie project finally works!
This is not a dirty unicorn. This is the original unicorn, the AOKP.
WARNING: This is for phones that are still using the 50.1 firmware base! Not for phones that have upgraded to the 50.2 firmware!
**** This is an UNOFFICIAL ROM. Install at your own risk! ****
A huge thanks to the Android Open Kang Project team!
Another huge thanks goes out to @LuK1337 for all of the great development that he did on the Sony Xperia XA2 Ultra! He did most of the heavy lifting by making a great LineageOS build, upon which this AOKP is based. Please note, this is an UNOFFICIAL ROM.
Disclaimer: AOKP is not responsible for any damages to your device.
All of my work is completely available for any who wish to use or modify it. I didn't make AOKP, the device trees, or vendor blobs. I simply used and edited existing material. A huge thanks should go to those who actually created this stuff.
This Unofficial AOKP ROM was built for H3223 (discovery), but may work on some of the other variants, please try at your own risk. However, if you do try it on another variant, please be sure to let me know in the comments how it worked (or if it didn't).

There is an ENG and USERDEBUG build. The ENG build is marked "ENG" for testing purposes only. You can install anything you want, but I recommend not installing the ENG build.
Gapps link:
http://opengapps.org/
If desired. Personally, I've gone Gapp-less.
Installation instructions:
-Download ROM and gapps, and put them on your removable sdcard storage. (Or leave on your computer and flash with adb sideload.)
-Reboot into the bootloader.
-Fastboot boot your TWRP.
-Backup what you had. (Just to be safe.)
-Wipe everything and format data.
-Install Rom. (Either from adb sideload or from your removable sdcard storage.)
-Reboot to system and enjoy!
If you also want Gapps:
-Reboot again into the bootloader.
-Fastboot boot your TWRP.
-Install Gapps. - Optional
If you plan to install magisk (good idea), then let the rom boot the first time, then go back to TWRP and flash magisk. This is optional, of course.
What works:
Code:
So far everything that I have tried works, such as
- Camera for pictures and video!
- Phone calls
- Data 3g/LTE
- Bluetooth
- WiFi
- MTP
etc....
What doesn't:
Code:
- Nothing else that I know of, but if you find something, please let me know so we can try to fix it!

ROM OS Version: 9.0 Pie
ROM Kernel: Linux 4.4.153
Based On: LineageOS and OmniRom
Created 2019-08-21
Last Updated 2019-08-22
Change log:
2019-08-22
-Stable userdebug build.
2019-08-21
-Stable ENG build. Fixed previous issues.
Had to edit a lot of components within AOKP rom source to make this work, which makes a repo sync difficult.
2019-08-20
-Booting ENG build, unstable. Issues with Bluetooth stack and encryption key sizes, as well as issues with gestures.
Rom notes:
As @Ultramanoid pointed out in LineageOS https://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=80053444&postcount=219 You can use Open Camera to allow you to switch between all three cameras (one rear, two front).

I'm staying on RR probably, I was a fan of it when I had my z ultra, back when I used to port
Just a side note, I noticed that someone else is downloading my test kernels, and I have absolutely no problem with that. But do be aware, some of these test kernels may not work. I'm in the process of testing them. So flash these kernels at your own risk. When I have a good working kernel, I'll put it out for the whole group.
Just a teaser video.... Booting built in TWRP:

Plan is to add it to all the ROMs that I make for this phone.
Good morning everyone!

I was planning monthly updates to this rom for security purposes, which I am also doing for RR. However, the AOKP source code still has quite a few issues that makes building very difficult. I have to hand edit a lot of fixes to get a working build. So unfortunately I am waiting for AOKP to build without issue first before building another update for this rom. I'll check back periodically to see if they fix the repo. If you need the monthly security updates, I'd recommend LineageOS or my other rom, RR.
Thanks,
Alaskalinuxuser

LineageOS is a free, community built, aftermarket firmware distribution of Android 10 (Q), which is designed to increase performance and reliability over stock Android for your device.
LineageOS is based on the Android Open Source Project with extra contributions from many people within the Android community. It can be used without any need to have any Google application installed. You will need to provide your own Google Applications package (gapps). LineageOS does still include various hardware-specific code, which is also slowly being open-sourced anyway.
Base source code is available in the LineageOS Github repo. And if you would like to contribute to the project, please visit our Gerrit Code Review.
GPL compliance:

Device tree source code: LineageOS/android_device_xiaomi_lithium
Kernel source code: LineageOS/android_kernel_xiaomi_msm8996
Broken / not yet supported:
VoLTE (?)
Working:
Camera (and flashlight)
WiFi
NFC
Bluetooth
Telephony (Calls and Data)
Audio (Record and Playback)
Video Playback
Sensors
GPS
Encryption (FDE)
Compatibility:
Compatible with all Xiaomi Mi MIX variants (64GB / 128GB / 256GB).Builds are based off the Xiaomi's Android 8.0 firmware with proprietary blobs from MIUI 8.5.10 dev package.
Downloads:
Official download links
Notice:
No custom kernels are supported in this thread. Only stock kernel and official builds will be supported. No bug reports if that's not the case.
Installation:
Reboot to recovery (TWRP recovery for Mi MIX - Direct link)
Format /system, /data and /cache
Install LineageOS zip package
Install [optional] a Google Apps package of your choice (Open GApps is advisable, but stock and super variants are not recommended!!!)
Important notes:
Current minimal * required * firmware version is MIUI 8.5.10 Global dev, otherwise installation will fail.
GApps can only be flashed on clean installs.
Formatting data (all user data is wiped, including internal storage) is a must if MIUI was previously installed and device was encrypted.
Credits & collaborations:
This work is due to efforts from Mi5Devs founding members (@h2o64 and me) that did the full device bring-up. Huge thanks to @deovferreira for all the help during the kernel bring-up after source code dropped. Last but not least, pleasure having @luca020400 and @LuK1337 onboard since the bring-up of the whole Xiaomi 8996 family. Finally, all LineageOS team would like to thank everyone involved in helping with testing, coding, debugging & documenting! Enjoy!

I haven't installed your Lineage myself, but on the ROMs I build I had to pick the ultrasound hal from the lineage gerrit to get it working. I think you need to get it merged

I had no problem with sensor. I returned on los16, as in los17 there is no access ban to the Internet for programs. will this be done in the future, as in los16?

Maybe yes, maybe not.
Why screen is locking during phone talk? When I trying to end talk - I can't press red button because screen is locked. Screen is on but I need to enter code or Finger ID.
Same problem in Lineage 16. No issue if connected to Bluetooth.
did you get a chance to update to latest?
Me too I beg for an update to the latest.
I'm gonna take the builds from my own side. I'll start sycing code and building. Will keep you all updated ^.^

Just a heads-up, I have promoted this device to 17.1. The first official build should be up sometime during next week.
