Got my S23+ from Google Fi. However, discovered that Google Fi does not support eSIM on S23+ yet. In addition, Based on my discussions with the Google Fi support, eSIM lack of support with Google Fi on S23+ is expected as Google Fi is blaming Samsung for such limitations due to missing software update. (which I personally doubt)
However, going through Reddit, found a comment that has helped enable eSIM for Google Fi on S23+. This is the post for reference:
https://www.reddit.com/r/GoogleFi/comments/11569ty
Overall, you can activate eSIM on S23+ with Google Fi using the IOS documented method which provides you with a QR code.
0- Make sure Google Fi app is removed from your phone, uninstall if already installed
0- Also, make sure there is no physical SIM card installed
1- Go to fi.google.com, login to your account
2- go through Step3 @ https://support.google.com/fi/answer/9823429?hl=en
3- go to https://fi.google.com/ios/quicksetup <-- this will provide you with eSIM QR code
4.0- Make sure you are connected to WiFi
4.1- On S23+ go to settings -> Connection Manager -> SIM Manager -> Add eSIM --> Scan QR code
5- Once that is completed successfully, install Google Fi App
6- Activate you Google FI, might need to do that few times until successful
Took me two attempts and it worked. Now I have Google Fi eSIM activated on S23+
Hopefully this helps if you are interested in eSIM Google Fi

thanks a lot, worked for me too with the second try. (S23 ultra).
I needed that urgently since I travel often abroad and use local sim cards there. I therefore had to free the card slot from the gfi sim card.
Worked like a charm for me as well, also took 2 trials (S23 ultra). Thanks a lot
Is there any way to activate outside the US? eSim or physical sim?

Not that I am aware about it. The initial activation per my knowledge must be in the US.
So looks like they fixed something. After getting latest updates on galaxy 22 (may 2023)
removing physical simcard
uninstalling google fi app
rebooting
installing google fi app
struggling to activate it
rebooting
starting the activation in google fi again
noticing that there is dark on dark menu asking for allowing to use esim card (didn''t notice first time)
eSim activated.

Hello everyone else who uses more than one sim card with your android phone. I've created something really useful for us!
MultiSim
Application is available in English, German, Chinese (thx Yujie) and French (thx Vincent).
MultiSim tracks all sim cards used by the phone and gives them icons which is always shown on the notification bar. This way you can always see which sim card you are currently using. Icons can be changed or hidden for easier distinguishing. Dual-sim-adapter users can switch their sim cards with the included Widget. HyperCard 3G, MagicSim 3G (in 007 Mode) and analog adapters are supported.
Download in Android Market if you're interessed and give me some feedback here!
Special Deal: I managed to negotiate a special deal for anyone interested in buying a HyperCard 3G: € 15 discount! Simply use the App to get your coupon code.
Download from Market (recommended for auto-update) or as an attachment from this post.

Don't forget to give it 5 stars if you like it
Hi,
Will this application work also with the DSTL1 (which has dual simultaneour sim cards)
if someone can get me one to test it on, I can get it to work
check here:
http://generalmobile.com/index.asp?action=Android_Phones/DSTL1_support
It is actually made in China and you can get one for about 200 EUR including delivery. Comes with donut and two sim cards working at once.
You can define which ones for data or voice at will
well, if i'd request money for the tool I'd probably get one for testing, but with free software, i don't think I can afford that
you are absolutely right, you could try asking the General Mobile guys for a free sample so you can do some coding? They are really sweet phones.
Also on the side I have looked for an app that acts as a dropbear (ssh server) gui
it simply needs checks if the dropbear process is running
and if it is running, kill it
ELSE run as root /system/bin/dropbee
(dropbee is a script I wrote that launches dropbear with all the appropriate
parameters)
I can give you the sh scripts and dropbear binaries if you want to put together an .apk?
do you guys have a DSTL1? I thought about it and don't see why someone would use my tool on that phone as it is a real dual sim phone where both sims can be used at the same time. Am I missing something?
Yes I have one.
Well, it would still be nice to know what 2 sim cards you have in at any given time...

Does it work on android 2.1 or 2.2 and what multisim adaptor should I buy for the Nexus One to work perfect.
BTW. Thanks for the APP.
any further news..looking to use on my desire?
Nice app, thanks. Works fine on Nexus One on 2.2.
Ok, i did decompile the version 1.1 to change the icon set (bad trick, just changing ressourses without taking care of the name), and i've also done a french translation of it.
So here is the string.xml and icon set I've used just in case you want to use it for next release
EDIT : For those interested, here is the rebuilt apk...
App for TWIN card by Vodafone
chineseleper, Can I use your program in a TWIN SIM by Vodafone?.
A TWIN SIM card is the original Vodafone card with 2 numbers inside it. The problem with the new ones is that It has only one password and therefore I can´t select the line with the password switching on and off the phone (like olders twin sim)
There is an app by vodafone called stk.apk but It is not available on android phones, like my Nexus One. I have tried to install it in system/app but I couldn´t.
Thanks in advance,
I am just posting this, wondering if anyone has run into a similar issue, I have looked high and low, on multiple forums and have found no one with a similar issue. I am fearing that my only recourse is to make a new Google account, solely to use these features. Would anyone have any idea on how to contact a Level 2 Support or Engineer, or someone within the inner circle of Google to contact them about this issue? Or might know of another way to go about reporting this bug so that it receives more Public Attention than getting swept under the rug? Now, I would like to say, this is completely a Google Server side issue, not a client side issue (this happens on multiple devices, and only one account.) But, again I haven't gotten any more information back other than:

Which is mildly aggravating as the ticket has been open for about three weeks now.
Around June 26th, I attempted to request a Google Wallet Card, and ever since then, my Wallet Account has been in a relatively broken state. I am able to purchase apps using my debit/credit card or bank account but I am having the following issues:
What I can not do:
Use Tap to Pay
Use Google Wallet Gift Cards
Use Google Play Store Credit
Use Google Opinion Rewards
Send money to people via gmail
Pay for applications or IAP's using any form of redeemable currency through Google (IE: Gift Cards, etc) *Note the other entry above means that I cannot add gift cards and other services to my account.
Change my country as a troubleshooting method, as I have more than $10 US Dollars in my Google Play Credit/Wallet, even though my Android app says differently.
What I can do:
Add bank accounts to Wallet App
Add Debit/Credit Cards to Wallet App
Add Loyalty Programs to Wallet App
Since that day, I have opened up a support ticket and after about a week of talking with Level 1 support, that has been sent up and escalated to the Engineers Group with a known internal Known Issue ID. They told me that it was not a user error issue (obviously, I knew that from the start of this entire ordeal) and that it was completely server based. However, I am unable to get more information regarding that Bug ID/my ticket as in:
How long has this been a known issue
How many other people are experiencing the problem
What is being done to fix the problem
What is being done to isolate the problem
So on and so forth, basically any information besides "the engineers are aware of the problem." I have called about every four days hoping for an update to the issue and not receiving any, because I have a decent amount of cash right now stored as Google Play/Store credit that I am unable to use, and because I would like to use Tap to Pay.
Because of this, I am wondering:
How many people on these forums have experienced similar issues, like what I am experiencing?
Would it be easier in the long run to just setup a new e-mail, switch everything over to the new e-mail address (it's a long process which is making me hesitant to do so, and I am not sure how some of the stuff would be transferred over).
How can I get in contact with a Level 2 or "Engineer" working on this issue to get more information, and discuss issues about this.
What is being done to help resolve these issues?
I had no issues with my account until I requested a Google Wallet Card, and now I incredibly regret doing so, to the point that I wish I could reverse all of this myself manually.
Attached are the pictures of what the Android and Web app are telling me in hopes that someone sees some similarities and if someone could get in contact with me (that has more information than a Level 1 Support from the Google Wallet phone team), that would be awesome as that is my main goal, I just would like to talk with someone that can provide more technical explanation than just saying "Our engineers are aware of the issue."
Explanation of below pictures:
Capture.png - The desktop process of me trying to request a Google Wallet Card (Firefox or Chrome, doesn't matter what browser)
Step 1.png - Step 3.png - The process I take in trying to setup Tap to Pay on Android App, with Step 3 finally saying: "There was a problem loading your funding source." (This also occurs if I try to extract, add, or clear money from my Google Wallet Balance)
Screenshot_*.png - The sidebar of the Android App, they requested that I take this screenshot. As you can see there is no Balance at the bottom of the sidebar.
Step 1 - 3
EDIT: 2015/07/15
After calling again, and talking with another person, I immediately asked for the Known Issue ID (which the other representative would not give me) and this is the number that was given to me:
Known Issue ID:
20906675
Shortly after though, she told me that she wasn't able to give me any further information about it, which was a bummer. So any other advice or people experiencing problems, it would be great to hear from you.
Hi,
i need your help!
I'm using android pay in Germany. Because it's not officially I had to create a account Bank account in Ireland.
Now I bought a huawai watch 2, in hope I can use android pay with my watch.
My problem is, that I can't find the android pay on my watch. On German play store android pay is not available.
How I can install the app on my watch?
(Sorry for my bad english)
I have app in app list of installed app in my mobile. I installed by watch. But now I must change my bank.
I live in Sweden and still no android pay here. Only Samsung Pay and Apple pay so far...
Managed to get it on my watch, but unfortunately I just applied for a KBC Account so it'll take a while until I can report you about my findings.
I've got it after forcing my watch to use my phones internet connection which was connected via vpn.

Google Pay comes already preinstalled on the Watch 2 but it's disabled by default outside of selected countries.
To enable it, you need to create a second Google account on your phone with a billing address in e.g. the UK.
Once that's done, use the wearOS app to copy your new Google account onto the watch.
Then, on your watch, open Google Play, swipe down and select your UK account from the menu. Now search for Google Pay and enable the app.
The app will appear in the menu and you can bind it to the secondary key if you want. Make sure to use your real account in Google Pay to add your cards so the bank doesn't decline due to a wrong address.
Do i need to keep the active account on UK? Or does google pay disable if a switch to my own account?
You need to keep it on your watch but you can continue to use your regular account instead.
There is no way around for this?
I already have a us account on my watch and the app works ok but every time i need it i have to enable it again. This is very absurd.
There is no apk modification to prevent it to disable or something?
Google pay on the watch was disabled in Ireland some time ago as it was never officially available. The workaround i've been using is to install "Pay Enabler" from the app store and set the hardware button on the watch to launch it, works well enough.
https://support.google.com/wearos/answer/7643998?co=GENIE.Platform%3DAndroid&hl=en
To use Google Pay on your watch, you need to:
Be in the US, UK, Italy, Spain, Australia, Canada, Poland, Russia, or Germany.
Use a supported watch. Google Pay is already installed on supported watches. To see if your device is supported, check the list of apps on your watch.
Use a supported card.

It's not available for Pixel 3 in India.
I believe the poster was using the magisk VoEnabler to get the settings (or edit to build.prop). For any of that to actually work it needs carrier support. It is enabled in my settings, but I know no other person who uses it so cannot test it.

They have service. I have used it in OnePlus phones, all Xiaomi phones and Samsung phones. It is Google that not allowing this to promote their Google Duo app which requires data on ( if anybody is wondering why I am not using that).
When Google introduced Pixel 1 in India VoLTE was not available. After 2 months they activated it by an update ( codeaurora.ims) .

Please don't say carrier. Huawei pushed ViLTE in Feb 2019 to Honor View 20 via EMUI update. Back in 2017 Google pushed VoLTE to Pixel XL via 7.1.1 update in India.

It still has to be an approved device by the carrier whther or not the oem allows for it with their device. If this wasnt the case then there wouldnt be tons of forums with people using the forementioned qpst and other such methods to get the options working despite their carrier not allowing it.

Have they activated it on your particular sim card. I use China Telecom and could not get VoLTE until I contacted them and they activated it on my sim card.
https://forum.xda-developers.com/pixel-2-xl/how-to/guide-qxdm-port-activation-pixel-2-xl-t3884967
Something like this is required.
My carrier China Telecom has enabled it at it works with the google phone app.
My thread here https://forum.xda-developers.com/pixel-3/help/china-telecom-t3891520 might be related. The mbn files for Chinese carriers were not correctly put into the file, had to be manually added. I just looked and cannot locate any mbn files for Indian providers in that location.
Maybe you just need to get the mbn from another device and add it to the /generic folder and the sw_mbn.txt file. It requires you to disable verity to change the vendor partition, you can use magisk. After changing re-enable verity and do a twrp factory reset.

Of course yes, as I sad VoLTE and WiFi Calling options is just not appear in settings, I tried 3 different carriers in Poland (PLAY, ORANGE, T-Mobile).
I was under the impression you ROM version indicates to a your service provider of the features you can have enabled on that phone.
Eg Vodafone UK only has select number of phones on their website that they enabled for VoLTE or WiFi calling. But these version would only work with specific ROMs.
Hence why I was holding off just to make sure on android 11.
Thanks
Thanks for answer. I have heard about this before, but as i said in first post - on OnePlus 7 Pro I can force enable VoLTE and Wi-Fi calling - in default also that wasn't working. Carries in Poland adds supported phones very slowly, and mainly most popular phones. Neither OnePlus 7 Pro or Oppo Find X2 Pro aren't supported officially by three main carriers...
The VoLTE/VoWifi is really interesting. Here in the Netherlands both were activated and being used until I received the last software update (carrier: T-mobile) since the update both aren't available.
Customer services said the device added, so maybe the latest software has some issue with it. No sure
Sent from my OPPO CPH2025 using XDA Labs
So after upgrading my carrier plan in germany from LTE to 5G, I am missing also missing Wifi Calling which worked before. I have both options but I cant change to call over Wlan. If I press the button Wlan-Anrufe (which should bring up the selection), nothing happens.
