I have done a lot of reading about the Z3 but I still have some unanswered questions.
-Does the Z3 have a IR blaster? (I have seen both yes and no for this one)
-I currently use a LG G3 cat6 (SD805) and its very fast, how is the Z3 in comparison with its SD801? I benchmark around 47-48k on antutu.
-Is it actually that fragile? I have read through many threads regarding the glass cracking, but it seems that there is no clear answer.
-How does the camera focus in terms of speed? My G3 focuses faster than anything I have used including the S5 and Note 4. Is the quality on par with the S5/G3? (I have also looked through the pictures in the OP for the camera, but are there any owners of both the G3 and Z3 that could do a comparison?)
-I want a waterproof phone as a backup or if I like it enough a primary phone is this a viable choice, or would the Z3c be better?
-How does the screen compare to the G3? I'm used to the 2k display so I don't want to necessarily move down to the 720p of the Z3c, but the Z3 might be alright.
-I wear average jeans not really baggy or tight, will the phone break in my backpocket? I keep my G3 there all of the time while walking and its perfectly fine as my Note 3 was when I did the same thing. Will the Z3 actually break just by walking around with it in there? I never sit on my phones and generally I never drop them, but accidents happen.
I'm still up on the air about getting the Z3. I just want a nice waterproof phone for when the weather gets really bad (which happens very often here). We get about 60inches of rain per year not including snow. I will be using this on ATT if that matters. Any help would be appreciated.
I really don't like answering posts where the signature occupies more space than the post itself; but anyway...

A clear NO ! - I don't know which devil rode Sony for leaving out that feature - but they studiply did.

It is fast enough, feels like an iPhone. Today's Smartphone's processor power is just pure overkill.

Extremely fragile. The material is extremely slippery, it's even difficult to pick the Z3 up from a solid surface.
Tiny scratches on the backplane after a single day of very cautious use.
My display screen cracked after listening to loud music for some hours. Device unusable, waiting for repair.

Focus is medium fast, like the S4. Photo quality is SUBZERO. S4 shoots far better pictures, especially in bright sunlight. Unfocused areas at the picture's borders, left and right, horrible rendering of shades of green, like grass, leaves. Just a green slurry. HDR mode restricted to 8 MP, showing almost no effect at all, panorama shots restricted to 1080 pixels in height.
Picture quality is like a 8 MP camera, even with 20.7 MP photos. No joke, sorry.
Z3 is better under lowlight conditions, but the "flash" is nothing more than a joke; like a dim candle.
Video quality is not the best, too. With pan shots, there's that typical jerking and stuttering. Even at 1080p.
Camera gets hot, even while just taking photos.

Don't tried if it's real waterproof.

Screen quality (except the glass) is very high, you will love it. But incapable of "displaying" black. Black is always a dark grey. Good touchscreen response, very fast - but still a bit less sensitive than the S4 screen. Using a pen is possible (glove mode), but still not as good as with the S4.

I don't know but I guess: Yes, it will break. If a screen glass breaks just while listening to music, I regard it quite prone to break under slight pressure conditions.
Personally, I feel like waving the Z3 goodbye. I never expected a device that sensitive to breakage, I never expected a camera THAT bad.
Thank you for the info, I am disappointed in Sony for leaving it an IR blaster and every day I see more issues. The only way I can justify getting one is if the issues seem to dissipate as more people buy them. I guess ill wait and see if the t mobile one suffers all of the same issues.
Also I didn't realize how long my signature is, I can see how it's annoying so I'll condense it.
The OnePlus 2 has a crazy crisp display. Just kidding, this is automated text so who knows if this screen is any good. So, you be the judge! A higher rating indicates that it's extremely sharp and clear, and that you cannot see pixels with your naked eye.
Then, drop a comment if you have anything to add!
1080P is still great. People should stop complaining.
FullHD display is still relevant. Helps in battery consumption

The colors look washed out, even in comparison to OPO. What is experience of other users?
The colors are natural and give a "true to life" look. Go ahead and bump up the saturation and contrast for that "amoled look" if that's your thing. We are on android after all.
1080p is more than enough for a phone or tablet.
The display color is way better than nexus 5 and OPO screen. Bright is also good when high, and gets very low too. The resolution is great, not missing QHD at all.
I will agree with saurabhp75 that the colours are not as vivid and looked washed out compared to the OPO. The only settings are brightness and colour balance which goes from cool to warm. I do agree that it is brighter than the OPO though.
For those complaining that the colors seem "washed" out, that is true to life colors. If you want to have that AMOLED like saturation, we are on android after all, flash AK kernel or Boeffla and from there google the gamma settings for the kind of color reproduction you are interested in
Color production is subjective in this case, it is unjust to call the onplus 2's display as sub par lel
1920x1080 resolution on 5" bit small but for my eyes enough. HD Videos, HD Pictures looking sharp and not pixelised.
super amoled is the best, screen clarity /color is not ok, if u compare with samsung's amoled screen, i'm not satisfied with OP2 sceeen

Flash AK Kernel, Change colors to some AMOLED-like mode. Then colors would be over contrasted and not natural...if that's what You want, You can do this. OP2 Screen is amazing. Whites are white and blacks are almost 100% black. I'm really happy with it

Install a custom Kernel and increase the saturation to 40-45. It looks much better now, and much more pleasing than the OPO's display. That one always looked weird and cheap to me.
Resolution n sharpness is good. FullHD is still pretty much enough for our eyes.
Agree that color is slightly dull (i always compare color with iphone - the most natural screen you can have) but its easy to tweak using kernel that have KCAL setting enabled. So no issue there
Mate! Really? You think the screen is bad? It is just not saturated. I have a Sony Xperia Z3, Galaxy Note 3, and an LG G4, and Honestly, I cannot tell the difference. Let me get a little technical in the hope of helping you understand it better.
If you feel a magazine page and the photos on a magazine are crisp enough, they are printed at 300dpi. Fine art printers go to 720dpi. And no one really goes beyond that. And from a foot away, even a person with perfect eye sight cannot see more than about 450ppi. The One plus two pushes more than 400ppi, and that I believe should be plenty, unless you want to plaster your eyeballs to the phone screen (which would result in you losing your eyes, unless the screen is turned off ).
I was looking at buying a nexus 5 for $200, and was wondering about the following...
1. General performance for gaming, social media apps, chrome ,and the UI.
2. Battery life.( Screen on time, standby etc.)
3. Anything else I should know before buying.
Thanks guys
1. its good enough for gaming, the sd800 is no slouch.
2. 3 hours is what i get, also depends how intensive your use is.
3. you should easily find it for under 200
For general usage (like gaming, browsing, texting, etc), the phone runs absolutely well. It has some great multitasking capability, most of the time you won't feel stuttering at all.
Battery life is not good nor great, it's poor to be precise. Average screen on time you'll get is 2.5 hours to 3.5 hours. The standby, however, with Android 6.0 is absurdly amazing (personal opinion), you can get some days on standby without charging (again, this is a personal result).
You might want to give your hope for camera if you actually use it, it's not bad but it's not decent too. The HDR+ (from Google Camera) helps a lot, tho.
Also, the built-in microphone is bad, it's just bad. There's some tweak around to fix or improve it.
- This is all I can write, most of these are personal result and some user might experience a different result. -
The N5 is still a great little powerhouse. The only knocks on it that I can attest to are: screen is slightly washed out compared to a lot of phones, battery life is average at best, and 2 of the 3 N5's I've owned have just died for no known reason. (but that's more of a personal experience and not saying you will too) Camera is average, but not bad, and the speaker could be a little louder. But performance wise, it still kicks butt. It can still keep pace with the most recent phones punch for punch.
Now it's time for you to decide.
Everything sounds good!! How would you say the N5 screen compares to the 3rd gen moto g?(I'm talking colors contrast etc, I know the nexus kills it when it comes to pixel density) because moto g's screen looked excellent to me to minus the resolution.
If you like a warm color / screen, it's not that bad actually. I actually prefer a warmer screen because they are less harsh when turned on at night. Since I've never saw the third gen Moto G, I can't really say. What I can say is, the screen has a significant (at least on my N5) yellowish tint (hence the warmness), it might irritate you but you'll get used to it after using it for some time.
here's my quick personal thoughts (64gb high edition)
design and build quality: it feels more premium than my g3.. and i love its design .. but i've a problem with its design.. above screen is... well.. too empty!!
i wish it was more minimal or at least they put a name or sth in this empty space (u cant see the empty space in pics.. u have to see it urself)
performance: pretty much fast n smooth .. better than my cm13-running LG G3 .. i've scored 90k in antutu (55k g3 , 80k note 5 with double price) even
graphic result was satisfying ( i didnt expect mtk device to perform good in term of graphics..)
it has the best and fastest finger scanner I've ever seen..!
battery: decent .. much better than g3..
audio: good enough
camera: not the best but its one of the best by its price.. (on par with my cm running g3)
software ( UI ) : fascinating!! brilliant!! nice ui.. nice animations.. fast n smooth.. much better than stock lg ui or even aosp
display: well.. i've disappointed.. if u r amoled user, u can live with this.. great contrast, vivid colors, nice viewing angels.. but i was an IPS user
for me it's whites are too green/yellowish like samsung s5 ( 1st i bought s5 then i changed to g3 for its greenish whites) changing screen type in settings doesn't help any much i didnt have any problem with its lower res display.. it's pretty sharp
overall its pretty good choice for its price.. dont hesitate and buy it .. worse problem which i have with, is the green tint of display .. most of pepople dont notice it.. im very sensitive.. u cant find better devie with this money
i hope these help u
Nice review. I can confirm most of it. The display disappoints you because it doesn't compare well to (good) IPC LCD + not as good as (expensive) samsung AMOLEDs. Overall the display is pretty good. Especially for a recent phone in this price range. I got my redmi pro for 162€
Just one question.. Why didn't you pick the redmi note 4 as you are a IPS-type of person? It has IPS LCD.

'cause i was tired of bad contrast and unsatisfying black level in g3.. it was unpleasing watching movies in it.. overally i think amoled technology is much
better.. new samsung devices have really good screens and even whites are pretty much white..!
I'm from Turkey but I can import if it's not here and I'll consider every price. I'm comfortable buying from rather unknown brands. I just want the best experience:
120Hz, OLED screen with nice colours that feels nice to touch
nice camera with stabilisation, nice zoom (not the crazy 100x stuff), 60fps video and photo preview at 1080p
waterproof against water drops like rain
speakers as good as possible!
and a CPU that will give me a smooth experience with scrolling etc
with a battery life that doesn't suck;
gaming is not a concern, fast charging, headphone jack or wireless charging are useless
But most importantly make it feel light and good in the hand please. I hate how my Redmi Note 8 Pro feels, it's heavy, ugly, cheap-feeling, and my hands keep sticking on its back. It feels like I'm lifting a phone more than holding it.
The S21 I've tested felt great though, my thumbs loved the aspect ratio too. S21 is great for everything, except for its OS... If it had stock Android, I'd buy it without a thought but I really don't like OEM flavours like OneUI, MIUI etc... Is a custom ROM on it perhaps a good idea?
Thanks for all the answers! I've had my eyes on Pixel, OnePlus, S21 but none of them feel quite perfect. I'm sure there's something I'll love! Thanks again in advance
My recommendation: Google Pixel 5.

yes i love it but worse screen resolution and refresh rate, cpu, camera compared to s20 but idk if theres really no other choice it's a nice phone, what do you think about 4a vs 5? is it worth the huge price jump? what are the differences even
12% worse cpu, no water resistance, both really great cameras, but losing ultrawide, 20% less battery, and most importantly for me 60hz instead of 90.. altho i havent tested so idk if it matters. if it doesnt that much, i dont think it justifies the twice as much price unless theres something im missing
