stuck at "checking for updates" loop - General Questions and Answers

so the situation is like , I woke up and saw that my phone's home screen is freeze so, I thought of restarting it , but after I restart my phone, a "hello" screen shows(I hate it) and then I choose language then Country then Wi-Fi, then the screen shows "checking for updates" and after 2-3 minutes It automatically terminates me to the previous page and the process continues in a loop. I tried it restarting a lot of time and also tried the recovery mode but nothing changed.
My device : Realme X7 5G, 3.0UI.
I don't have a backup of my data, so I don't want to loose it, and I didn't unlocked my phone's bootloader, is there any other way, pls help me,
Please someone help me, pls

https://www.getdroidtips.com/realme-x7-rmx2175-stock-rom-file/ Is where you can find the stock firmware. because to fix this you might need to re-flash the stock firmware. and https://spflashtool.com/ is the flashing tool you'll need. follow the instructions in the getdroidtips website to flash it. EDIT: Keep in mind the files are 3 gigabytes so make sure you have enough space.

Unfortunately that's all I could think of to help you. I am very VERY sorry. We will just have to wait for someone else to reply to this thread.

Don't think it's bricked...But?

Hey guys, this is going to be my first post up here, usually just read up and find what I need no problem but today my first problem arose with my G1. I'll wrap it up quickly:
-Just got a new G1 through an insurance claim.
-Rooted no problem running SuperD v1.9.2
-Curiosity got the best of me and I attempted to try out CaNNoN Complete Eclair
-Didn't work correctly so I restored back to my most recent backup of SuperD v1.9.2
Once I restored, I found that all I had were the apps the SuperD includes built-in to his rom. Not one downloaded app was found on my phone. When I check in the market it still says all of them are installed, wont let me open them at all though. So of course I try to fix it myself and now my SD card just says Lost.Dir on it. Also now it goes through the T-Mobile G1 screen, begins the Super D boot image, and then goes black. I still have access to recovery, what happens now?
Mini update: Partitioned my SD again and now I get past the boot image, still no apps and I can't even reinstall them! Any help would be appreciated.

both of you wipe data, dalvik, and sd: ext partition. repair ext partitions and reflash. you're not bricked if you can get past the t-mobile g1 screen or can get into recovery or bootloader.
Thank you r3s-rt, for giving me hope but honestly, i didn't understood what I need to do.
Thank you
I'm unrooted now and i can't pass the android logo, I can't get access to the operating system. How can I do the partitions, repair and reflash?
you can try to start over and get it to 1.6 again by following this sites guide
upgrade.android.32teeth.org
already done that, but with 2 updates. No success

Buddy you need to first get a plain ( original ) 1.6 Rom as an update.zip on your sdcard boot into recovery , do a wipe THEN apply the update THEN reboot and wait , it will take a while to boot. DO NOT WIPE AFTER THE UPDATE is applied , you must let it *first boot* so it can rewrite the missing files..
where can I get that file? i've tried some but says no signature
I've already done that, nothing happens, the problem is still the same, I will try to flash HardSPL and see what happens
i was reading the topic of SPL and my phone is now unrooted, i can't do anything, i don't know what to do with my phone!
If you are un_rooted then you need to find a original un_rooted Rom , that was not signed with the test keys , ,if you are rooted you need to find a rooted Rom signed with the test keys , if you try to modify any of these roms before flashing them YOU NEED TO RE_SIGN THEM with the right keys , or you will get that no signature error ..
do you know where can I get that? Sorry about all the questions. Thank you
Everything that you need is in the link at the bottom of dan0zone's post right above you (#15). That is a walkthrough specifically geared toward G1's. The original image file for 1.5 is one of the first links he includes. He's even got the links for RC29 (US) as well as RC7 (UK)!
Remember! First boot takes FOREVER!!!! Let it sit for at least 5-10 minutes before doing anything.
Good luck!
I've already done that but nothing happens...what happens if I try to flash UK rom in USA phone? I don't know what should I try more.
is there any cupcake update or any way to don't need to slide the keyboard when ask for sign in or create a new google account? sorry, man. i have a tendency to just disappear and forget where i posted. are you using cyanogens or amon_ras recovery? i suggest amon_ra's. select the "wipe" option. then choose the first three options that appear. then flash super d 1.9.2.
or just follow the rooting process all over again. if you can't get into recovery.
(recovery is accessed by holding the home key while powering the phone on.) if you need anything else, please pm me. i'll always respond to a pm, but very rarely to a post. sorry.

[Q] Accidentally wiped my system.. Help!!!

1st of all, i am a beginner. Just brought my android ics phone last month. I also rooted my phone by the help of my friend last week. But yesterday i was trying to restore factory settings. But i accidentally wiped my system. And now my phone wont boot. It stuck in BootScreen. Nothing happens then. I dont have the backup of my rom. what to do now ??? Please help!! Sorry for my bad English & Thanks in advance who wanna help me
..
What recovery are you using? Even if you wiped the phone you should still have it running. All you need to do is reboot in recovery mode. Hard to tell you how as I dunno what the phone is.
Before that you'll need to download your stock firmware and put it on the root directory of your SD card if you have one, so that once in recovery you'll actually have something to flash.
If the phone doesn't have a SD slot, then you'll need to use a recovery tool on your PC to flash it.
Right now shut the phone down, remove the battery, find some guides specific about your phone, and read them carefully. There's a reason why we're using recoveries. First thing you should have done is to backup your stock firmware somewhere on your computer or on the cloud, and make sure you knew how to use it if something like that was to happen... Little late for that now.
When you'll know what to do, just mind that you still have enough battery to flash the stock ROM. Come back to ask help here if there's something you don't understand. Good luck!

No problem. Just install this partition manager free. It is perfectly adapted for windows 8. And you are offered a variety of options which can swap/merge/separate new partitions. With a very easy-to-understand instructions, everything is perfect!

Bootloop 2013 Moto G Boost Mobile XT1031 8GB

Hey guys!
To start, I want to say what an amazing place XDA is and how much information and knowledge you can get from here and how awesome the moderators are. I don't think I could ever find another amazing and/or helpful community such as those found here! Thanks to all who have helped me out with my Android issues!
Now to my issue and I apologize ahead of time if there is another thread (or related thread) found in the forum.
As the title states, I have a 2013 Motorola Moto G XT1031 Boost Mobile device. I had upgraded it to Lollipop 5.0.2 or 5.1 when it came out (I can't remember which one it was) and I had then decided to root it. I can say that I believe I was successful in rooting the device because I was able to install Supersu and use RootChecker to verify the install. Everything was going okay until i decided to research and eventually install a custom recovery and attempt to install a custom ROM. Well, let's just say that the recovery install was a bust...
In doing my research for a custom recovery, I found that TWRP had a custom recovery for my phone and apparently for my firmware via TWRP's app on the Play Store. So, I searched for my device in their in-app search for a custom recovery, downloaded it and installed it from the app. Now, my gut told me that this probably wouldn't work and that I should probably be installing a custom recovery via CLI. Nope. I didn't do this. Instead, like I said, I installed a custom recovery from the app itself. That screwed things up for me. I have no idea if it was the install, but my phone began to act incredibly strange. When in the TWRP recovery, my screen had this line that would continuously scroll from top to bottom. It wasn't a completely solid line, but it was transparent, almost like an empty thermometer glass stick was going down the screen. It was weird and not normal. I figured the phone's software was partially broken. It only did this in the TWRP recovery. Nowhere else did this happen. It was slightly annoying.
Later on I decided to install a custom ROM. Again, I did the necessary research to find out if there were any ROMs available for my phone (using XDA of course and others) and found that there were a few out there. So, I downloaded one (wish I could remember which one) and attempted to install it...keyword there. After attempting the install, my phone would not boot. Like at all. Dead. So back to the drawing board I went to try and reverse the damage. Using XDA (ironically) and a plethora of other sites, I tried to resurrect my phone and bring it back to life. After countless hours of trying and trying and trying and more and more research, I just gave up. The phone is dead. Great. $170 spent on a phone to break it a year later.
It's been roughly 4-5 months since I have attempted to redo the process and after another minor attempt, somehow I was able to remove the root completely, including the custom recovery and ROM. I don't know what the heck I did, but it worked....sort of. The phone is now stuck in a bootloop on the logo and sometimes the "bootloader has been unlocked" screen when try and factory reset the phone from the default recovery. When trying to reinstall the stock firmware, I read everywhere that I need the phone to have USB-debugging set and to have this and that. I have this and that installed on my PC, but obviously cannot enable USB-debugging which is needed for ADB and fastboot to recognize my device.
So, my question for anyone who would like to help me out is this: what are my options? Is the phone recoverable? Is there any way I can get ADB/fastboot to see my device and finally install the stock firmware on the phone? I have the proper drivers installed and ADB/fastboot are on my PC. Any help would be amazing, even if you have to tell me to junk it.

This is incorrect, where did you read that? To reinstall the stock firmware using fastboot, you must be able to boot to the bootloader menu only.
I heard this from a few websites actually, although I could never find a situational fix for my phone. I am trying to restore back to Lollipop without a custom recovery, because within the past hour I found out TWRP was never fully removed when I tried booting into recovery from the AP Fastboot menu when doing to power+vol down option. The TWRP logo shows for about 10 seconds and then the phone tries booting normally, showing the unlocked bootloader warning.
So, yes I can boot into the bootloader menu all day long with no problems. It's just an selection I make doesn't get me anywhere. My question I guess now is: how do I go about reinstalling stock firmware via the bootloader menu. I have Minimal ADB and Fastboot installed on my PC. If I need the full ADB, I can download that. And of course I'd need the firmware, too.

I am trying to follow the steps listed here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2542219&page=35 and for some reason I cannot run any of the commands pertaining to the sparsechunks. This is what I get:
Is there anything you could tell me about that?
Edit: I was able to figure what the issue was when trying to write the sparsechunks. I had to insert a "." after 'sparsechunk' because that is how the file is named in the folder. However, now I am getting a new error, but it takes place on the phone screen. Every time I attempt to write a sparsechunk, it will initiate the process of doing so, but on the phone I'll get what appears to be an error saying, "Image is too large" in pink lettering. Why does this happen? Each sparsechunk file is at least 4MB less than the max-sparse-size according to the ADB and my phone, which is set to 256MB. Is there any way to change that?

Check which sparsechunk files you have and make sure you flash all of them in ascending order. If it still fails, copy/paste the contents of your command prompt window (no screenshots please).

I will try that. There was a ...sparsechunks.0 as well apart from sparsechunks.1, sparsechunks.2 and sparsechunks.3. Shall I include that, too?
And adding the screenshot was an amateur mistake. My bad.

need four file repair firmware please N920TUVU4EQJ3

desperately trying to un brick my note 5. I've been trying for weeks now to recover my phone after a rooting mishap had caused loss of imei and baseband. in the process of attempting to repair that issue I have managed to completely soft brick the damn thing. I have been to the deepest corners of google in search of this specific 4 file repair download and can not find anything that is free. I've even signed up for accounts on gsm flash and the like only to be disappointed that signing up wasn't enough to get the files I need... if anyone has a link or the files themselves I would be very thankful for there help. to be clear I can not flash standard stock rom through Odin. the process completes and the phone boots but than erases at 32 percent and will only boot to recovery with dm verity error or download mode. I've tried a few different official stock roms. I've tried flashing the one file home.tar as well as un packing and flashing boot, system, modem, cache neither of which have worked. I can't find a hidden image file to remove before flashing so unless I'm missing something im out of ideas.. the repair. firmware seems to be my last hope... also to hell out anyone trying to assist. I flashed a. efs file when trying to restore imei and that in turn re enabled frp lock.. so I believe both frp lock and oem lock are enabled. so any combination file or modified at all is out of the question... I believe it's repair or nothing. there are a few free 4 file repair downloads out there but they aren't the same number im not sure if there are any compatible enough that I could flash one of them and they work? so if any one knows of other models compatible. with the SM-N920TUVU4EQJ3 let me know so I can try to get this mess sorted out. I apologize if this has been asked somewhere els or if I'm in the wrong forum. but this seemed the most suited for my case. thank you to anyone who may be able to help

Hi I had the same issue with my note 5 SM-N920T I managed to fix it by downloading a pre rooted with SU rom from xda I also had the twrp custom bootloader installed first for some reason my pc still picked up my phone and I was still able to upload the rom to the twrp location on the device. having done that I was the able to copy the zip file over to my device and flash it.
When I had the rom installed I was then able to download the original android rom (android 5 in my case) from sam mobile they also had the most up-to-date android 7 rom as well for the device then it was just a case of using android repair to un root the bootloader and install the original android bootloader this was also on sam mobile.
Then make sure the phone has a full battery as flash the stock firmware as you would normally with odin and have the latest Samsung drivers installed on yore system or it will fail.
After the flash has taken place the first boot will take some time my note 5 took around 45 min's and then when fully back up and running I had to spend a good 2 hours reinstalling and updating all my software and OTA updates.

(HELP!) Phone Stuck In TWRP

Hello,
the long and short of it is that I tried to root my phone and then install Lineage, but ended up with no OS and now I can't use my phone. I simply want any OS so that I can use my phone. Any help would be greatly appreciated. I am a bit new to this kind of stuff, so I apologize in advance if I don't know some of the technical terms.
I am using a Samsung Galaxy S7 SM-930W8.
A bit more in detail:
I used two videos on youtube. 1 to teach my how to root, which got me into an OS. Then I used a video to teach me how to install Lineage, and that's when it all failed. After this, my phone was stuck in a never-ending loop of a circle going across a line and it never recovered.
I still have access to the TWRP when I hold down Vol-Up, Power and Home but when I try to reboot, it tells me there is no OS installed. I can't even use the recovery option, since I believe I deleted all the previously installed recoveries.
I feel silly for being in this predicament, but I would be so grateful for any help, folks!

Hello, no need to panic, the blue circle over the line was Lineage first boot up, it can take 10-15 mniutes on the first time. If you waited longer than this then maybe there was a problem.
If the Lineage ROM is on your SD card you can try to flash it again and see if it boots this time, sometimes it needs to be flashed twice to work. You must make sure it's the right one for your device.
If it still doesnt work then you will need to flash the stock firmware back to your device with ODIN. This is the firmware for your device >>>>HERE<<< Pick your network provider or an "unknown" version which is unbranded stock firmware. The download is a little slow but it's free.
There's lots of guides how to flash firmware with Odin, it's very easy.
I forgot to mention TWRP is a much better Recovery Option so yes when you instal TWRP the stock recovery won't boot.

Hello cooltt,
I was able to fix my problem an hour or so ago, but thank you for your calming post anyway.
For future threads, here is what I did:
1. I downloaded a stock OS and then extracted all the md5 files. (There is an md5 file for the "BL", "AP", "CP" and "CSC" fields in Odin.)
2. I then used Odin and after it detected my device, I plugged the 4 files in the appropriate fields.
3. I then hit start and it restored my phone back to a functional state.
Though I spent the last 20ish hours in a panic, I actually managed to achieve the goals that prompted me to try and install a custom rom: fewer stock apps and no Samsun Account bothering me all the time.
Thank you all for your concern.
