Question How do I update my rooted Pixel 7 Pro? - Google Pixel 7 Pro

Hi Guys, so recently bought my P7P, a week ago.
Its on january update, rooted with magisk and all that.
I was wondering, whats the correct procedure to update it when the february update will pop (still didnt get it)
can I just accept the OTA and then flash again the init_boot? Or do I have to flash original init_boot, update, and flash patched init_boot? will that lose all my modules and configurations?
I've tried searching info about this, but i'm finding different methods and I dont know which one is the correct one.
Thanks!!

Why not Pixel Flasher? Takes care of everything...

Go to https://developers.google.com/android/ then click "flash" for the update you want. Make sure you unclick the option "wipe phone". SJSU use chrome browser.

No you don't need anything, however you will need to re root. But it won't close bootloader so you won't need to wipe.
Factory Images for Nexus and Pixel Devices | Google Play services | Google for Developers
developers.google.com
Make sure you select the option to not lock bootloader. Also this is directly from Google that's why I use it over pixel flasher

Use pixel flasher and you can maintain root at the same time as you update

Instead of going through everyone's answer, just click the link and read the thread thoroughly
GO Here for Pixel Flasher

[Q] T-Mobile Note 2 Rooting Failure

So I rooted my T-Mobile Note 2, The SuperSu was installed but every Time I try to run it it says "SuperSu has stopped wroking" then I get a pop up from my phone saying that it blocked an app trying to reach something on the phone. So my question is, Is my phone rooted or not?

930A ATT S7 Snapdragon Xposed framework

Hey guys, so I just found out about this site and am a super noob but managed to Root my ATT S7 last night. I have been trying to install the Xposed framework but it looks like I cant get a custom recovery program onto my S7. Does anyone know how to get TWRP or CWM or any custom recovery onto the 930A? Or for that matter, Xposed install without a custom recovery?

Sure, I'll start from the beginning in case any other new people are wondering.
Basically, back up your files and restore your phone to factory so the root goes smoother.
Then proceed to this thread for the root. Oh yeah, install adb if you don't have it. They dont mention it and assume you know what it is, which noobs like me don't.
After a clean root, install Flashfire (you may need to disable samsung updates and reset the phones clock back to 2012 or something if Flashfire doesn't want to start). I used 0.31, maybe the newest will work? Easy to find in google.
On page 8 of the Root thread, there is a dropbox link to the Xposed apk and zip (Here). Move them to your phone and install the apk, then use Flashfire to boot the zip.
I think that's pretty much it, Xposed should be running after the Flashfire reboot (which can take a long time as it will Optimize apps).
psouza4 has an awesome thread on what to do after Root and Xposed to make the phone run smoother.
If you do something wrong and absolutely can't fix it, see here for re-flashing back to stock.
Hope this helps someone, took me about 2 days to search all of this out. The AT&T S7 is such a pain in the ass with it's locked bootloader, but this place is > AT&T!

7.1.2 Upgrade Help

Hey guys. I think I, pretty familiar with what I need to do, but I haven't done it before. Currently I'm on the FEBRUARY security update (7.1.1) and have root. I am hoping to upgrade to 7.1.2 without losing any of my personal data and apps. I am weary to try flash fire, so could someone more experienced help me out?
I know I need to download the full OTA image and flash it and remove some -W flag, but I don't want to brick my device or lose my data, so I'll let you guys steer me. Thanks in advance, by the way!
P.S. I never fully installed TWRP.
Every time, I download the full factory image and flash via flash fire.
Everything is good, except losing twrp, but i do not mind. root still available

Alright thanks dude. Which version of 7.1.2 should I get. I know some are made for different carriers but I'm in the U.S. and have a Google Store Pixel (non-XL) and using it on Verizon prepaid. I assume that should grab N2G47E, but I just want to be sure.
The other 7.1.2 is for Dutch Telecom? I just don't want to flash the wrong one on lol.

Did you save the file after you edited it? Take a look at the flashall you used and see if the -w is still in there. Willing to bet it is. I've done this for every update since November. Never had a problem. The only thing I can think of that would cause your data to get wiped is that you didn't save the changes after you edited it.

yeah saved it. There was only one section that had the w- and it was right before the update image. I can try it again at some point later on but that's what I did. I tried to sideload adb the OTA first which does not wipe data but kept getting an error saying device not found and emulator.

And if you're running TWRP 3.1 just flash the zips from there. First the update.zip, then the hw_eu one, and then flash supersu for root. https://forum.xda-developers.com/p9/development/root-supersu-2-81-emui-5-t3612258

Is there a way to update my phone to b389, b388 or other, more than b381, with or without root, even if I have to factory reset my phone, reinstall stock recovery?
You just have to try reading. This topic here and more ...

Apps won't install on my rooted Poco F2 pro

Hey guys!
This is urgent!!
Since I've rerooted my android with magisk, I've had a problem. Sometimes when I want to install an application of the internet, it won't install. It will download, yes, but when I want to install it into my phone, it prompts me to open it in another app or share it. When I click that, it says there was an error. But the thing is, it shouldn't even ask me that. Normally I should be able to directly install the app but it won't. This problem doesn't happen always, but it occurs now and then and more frequently lately..someone please help me and tell me why exactly this is happening?? I can't install any apps like this.
thanks

I switched to the GLOBAL Rom now, but I still have the same problem. Instead of the app/file opening, it asks me to share. Or says that there are no apps to share this???

I download the stock Rom of rjmixm and extract the boot.img.
Then I install Magisk manager and click on" select and patch file". I choose the boot.img and click on "let's go". After magisk patches it, it got renamed to something like "boot_patchedVmK" or whatever. I copy it to my computer and flash it via command - - > flash boot boot_patcherVmK...img". After successful flashing of the patched boot.img onto my phone, I restart it. Then my phone is rooted.

I'd experienced this same "Share" issue.
Go to Settings - Developer Options and check to see if the "Turn on MIUI optimisation" is ENABLED.
I found that fixed the "Share" issue for me.

Thank you soo much, this worked. I have been having this issue and it's been so frustrating that I decided to move to unlock my bootloader.
Omg it fixed it. Thank you so much!!
