In Firmware Finder is new ROM with build number 389. Unfortunately, no flashable
Hopefully that means that they will release an update soon
Please stop creating new threads for every non flashable update.
I noticed it too...hope they'll make some of it flashable someday... a lot of updates and i'm stuck on B380 lol.
P.s i know that B381 is avaible and flashable but i don't know how to do it. First time with Huawei/Honor device xD

I'm not 100% sure but I believe you need stock boot and recovery + unrooted.

And if you're running TWRP 3.1 just flash the zips from there. First the update.zip, then the hw_eu one, and then flash supersu for root. https://forum.xda-developers.com/p9/development/root-supersu-2-81-emui-5-t3612258
That's how i upgraded from B380 and it works perfectly.

This method don't require twrp or root, this is the same process of the original ota upgrade application, but in manual mode.
Disregard this comment, posted to wrong thread.
hi
Can someone explain me, why is there this kind of update published, non flashable one? internal testing purpose?
Is there a way to update my phone to b389, b388 or other, more than b381, with or without root, even if I have to factory reset my phone, reinstall stock recovery?
You just have to try reading. This topic here and more ...
Hi guys, i've update correctly with twrp to B381 (forgot to flash supersu so...no root. Lol) but i have a problem. On B360 in "Smart assistence" I had the function "Smart Key" to choose ehat to do when the fingerprint key was pressed. Now, after this update i have no more this function. It doesn't show up, even if i try to search it. It has been disabled or should i try to factory reset?

Hello everybody, i'm having serious trouble trying to downgrade my honor 8 frd l09 to Marshmallow.
The sequence was like this:
I was trying to update to Nougat using several methods and the only one that worked was via de charles method, after using several responses one of them made it update to nougat to the NRD90M test-keys (it originally was FRD-L09C432B131) I though everything was OK until I realized that several apps where not working/missing (every finger id function besides unlocking, the updater app, etc.). The phone worked fine which made me realize one day that not every app was installed or working.
This made me decide to rollback to Marshmallow using this guide/files community .hihonor. com/thread/1700. It failed after the first step and started showing "Your device has failed verification and may not work properly".
So I tried to restore factory settings thinking it would at least install all the apps. This process stopped at 50% and now I'm stuck. I can barely use the phone now because it has very few apps, it doesn't even have the keyboard I can only use the voice command. (still this version NRD90M test-keys)
This is my situation now, can anybody tell me where did I mess up and how can I fix it?
Thanks.
I made the downgrade like 3 times and i had no problems, could you tell me what rollback package you used ?
I will write here what i've done, maybe you can find what you've did wrong.
1. Format SD Card
2. Copied update.app from that little rolback package in the dload folder on SD Card.
3. Flashed it. (Turned off the phone then holding Volume Up+Volume Down+Power Button to get into force update)
4. The phones restarted so i delete the update.app from the dload card an i put there the other update.app (From the B131 android zip)
5. Flashed it. (Turned off the phone then holding Volume Up+Volume Down+Power Button to get into force update)

Are you flashing using the Vol up + vol down + power combination?
Do you have the file update.app on a dload folder on an external sd card?

Also make sure to use the key combo without the cable plugged to the phone. You can't go wrong, my phone was pretty much a brick and this method worked on it.

I guess your phone cannot boot, you need sdcard then
Download rollback package of your device ( i guess this one) http://download-c.huawei.com/download/downloadCenter?downloadId=92130&version=360508&siteCode=de-h than download full firmware for your device( not ota update).it doesn't matter which version as long as its written full.
Refer this http://hwmt.ru/oth/HWFF/info/view.php?find_model=FRD-L09C432
Create dload folder inside sdcard, extract uppdate.app into dload folder.
Enter recovery by pressing all 3 buttons.
It will show you user reset.
Force shutdown the phone as your phone cannot boot because lacks of apps.
Replaced update.app from dload folder (sdcard) with update.app from your full firmware by extacting it.
Enter recovery again
That should do it.
I made what both said and had success this time. (which were the same I did the first time, don't know how I messed up yet..)
I still want to upgrade to Nougat, what is the best way? Eventually, will I receive the OTA ?

If you had the OTA notification before, you will have it again. Just boot normally, connect to the internet, open HiCare > services > early adopters.
The OTA update notification should pop up.
After updating to Nougat I suggest a factory reset.

I updated with charles 3 times and I had the same problem as you once. If the OTA package size shows around 2.38gb it will work fine. The one time I had the same issue, the OTA showed to be 1.38gb and after the update I had apps missing/non functional. See what you get this time and if it happens to be the full package.
Make sure you use a correct charles response from this thread: https://forum.xda-developers.com/honor-8/how-to/various-responses-charles-app-b360-t3541342
For me the following procedure was working marvellous:
Initial position: Android 7.0 having opened bootloader, bad working Root, bad working TWRP recovery, SuperSU and Busybox installed
intention (finish): the newest Nougat-FW with closed bootloader and no root-rights
1) First I deleted SuperSU and Busybox and flashed the extracted original honor-recovery from Marshmallow rom in adb
2) I flashed original rollback-package from Nougat to MM which I have downloaded from hihonor link. I put it in dload-folder in external sdcard, switched off phone and hold all 3 hardware.keys untill flashing was forced.
3) after this my Honor booted and I changed the rollback-package file to original Marshmallow-FW (from hihonor link) in dload-folder.
4) I flashed original honor Firmware Marshmallow the same way as it is told in point 2
5) The Honor 8 reboots and at this point I had absolutely clean Marshmallow without root and having the bootloader closed.
6) After about 30 Minutes and 2 or 3 reboots, hicare-app wanted me to upgrade to Nougat. I did.
- thats all. It took much time but it worked reliable on my Honor 8/European version (FRD-L09)
Thanks for all the replies. I'm now on frd -L09C432B131. I will try later to upgrade again with the charles method. I remember as you said that the previous update was 1.38gb, I will take that into consideration.
Thanks

Does Honor/Huawei officially post these update files? I didn't know there was 2 separate update.app files. I'm currently looking for them for my FRD-L04. I want to go back to Marshmallow. Having a hell of a time trying to get BT and NFC to work.

BT and NFC files are located in data_full_usa.zip(l04),
If you're going to root and twrp, its better save that file after you wipe data to f2fs format in twrp, than flash those data.zip file....BUT remember, we're already converted the storage to f2fs in nougat to access data storage and that will be pain in a** if you forgot to convert back ext4 format for rollback.
Just remember to convert back to EXT4 in twrp before rollback in MM, otherwise you'll loose everything, no recoveries and bootlooping. Fastboot stated as abnormal thou.
Edit: the wierd thing is, if we looked at data backup in twrp MM, it is f2fs format..

Where does this mysterious data_full_usa.zip file come from? I don't see it anywhere in this thread or on XDA? sorry! I believe I found it here: http://modfullandroid.blogspot.com/2016/12/how-to-update-huawei-honor-8-model-frd.html but just want to confirm since it's a strange site I've not been to. Honor's official page doesn't have this file, or "region patch".
Also, it's funny you mentioned that. I COMPLETELY forgot about reformatting the data partition. What I did to downgrade was flash the small UPDATE.APP from the official honor website, then flash the large UPDATE.APP. It seemed to bring everything back up on MM OK for me. Just sucks, because now I miss Nougat after having to go back to emui 4.

I did not understand.
How can i recover BT/NFC?
You can explain in a simple way. Thank you.
link :HERE
For XT1572 (Indian Variant Only)
tested works fine.
ADB Sideload
1. Place the ZIP file in your adb/fastboot directory
2. Reboot to the bootloader and start (stock) recovery
3. At the "dead Andy" with a red exclamation, press POWER+VolUp to get to the stock recovery menu
4. Select "Apply update from ADB"
5. On computer, enter "adb sideload <filename>" but replace <filename> with the OTA ZIP image
6. Wait for the process to finish...
There is other sd card method also but i don't recommend you to follow that as it is a bit tricky.
Edit: this will only work for Blur_Version.24.231.16.clark_retasia_ds.retasia.en .03
Do not attempt to flash or your device will be hard bricked
Thanks a lot. Will try flashing this tomorrow
Working for XT1575?

Why is the SD card method trickier? You put the OTA(blur) file on your SD card and in stock recovery select "apply update from sd card" and you don't even need a computer. What's so tricky in this?

Yea but what I meant was what the actual version of the phone you have
Because this always comes up, I downloaded and looked at this OTA...
Your device MUST have the following release keys to work:
motorola/clark_retasia_ds/clark_ds:6.0/MPHS24.49-18-16/12:user/release-keys, also know as Blur_Version.24.231.16.clark_retasia_ds.retasia.en.03
That is the ONLY version this OTA will work on, you must be on build MPHS24.49-18-16 retasia dual SIM, this OTA cannot be applied to ANY OTHER DEVICE or BUILD... don't do it, don't try, don't force it... if it does somehow magically work (or you figure how to force it) you device will be inoperable, possibly hard bricked.
Moto OTA's are differential files, so each piece for each file only includes what is different than the known value from the previous build, that is why these OTA's are so dangerous, they do not replace entire file but patch existing ones with the specific bits that are different only... if it fails or the files are not as expected bad things can and will happen.
BTW, the informtion to decipher what build you have to be on and what it will go to is inside the OTA zip file, in a file called metadata.json

Yes, as long as you are on the correct build stated previously, and you are unmodified stock, no root, stock recovery, untouched /system, radio, and /boot partitions, then you can just install with adb sideload and go.

Last year one of the biggest Mobile Service Provider launched 4G/LTE Services with Free Internet for about 6-7months straight. Also with Free Unlimited International over VoLTE feature. Currently the Free Data Services has ended but the Free Calling is still there.
It was kinda Wreaking Ball for other providers. Basically VoLTE is important for Indian users.
Hope they give us update for Modem supporting VoLTE.
P.S: It's Reliance Jio, Google it.
Hi all
My honor 8 just arrived yesterday,
Turned it on and it prompted me for a software update and it went in to a boot-loop.
Not sure what fw it was on before the update, also unsure what version it was upgrading to.
Later found out trough fastboot that it is (FRD-L19C636B386).
Tried to factory reset (no luck)
Tried eRecovery method, keeps showing (Getting package info failed)
Tried the 3 finger method with FRD-L19C636B380, keeps showing (Software install failed Get help from http://www.emui.com/emotiondownload.php?mod=restore)
Tried to flash trough fastboot, unfortunately it can't be done without unlocking the bootloader.
Wanted to unlock the bootloader but seems like it requires the phone to be able to boot to OS before I can get the unlock code.
Anyone having the same issue or have other alternatives/solutons for me to try?
Cheers!
Try rollback package

Here you can find how get unlock code when you can't boot to rom. For this use program which is in this post https://forum.xda-developers.com/ho...-func-11-recovery-image-t3656979/post73420440 is a ID and other staff generator

Hi I also have L19 and trying to update to B380 from B360 thru OTA using Firmware Finder. And your issue happened to me. It just bootloops then goes to eRecovery but it has error " Getting package into failed".
So can you help me step by step on how you fixed your phone? Thanks!
Tried using Rollback package. but now my new error is "Data partition was damaged seriously! ..."
I dont know what to do anymore, I just bought this phone 5 days ago, sad life.

I just checked the fastboot mode it says:
Phone Locked
FRP Lock
1. what to do to unlock bootloader?
2. Whats happening now is, the "Honor" logo boots twice then goes to Huawei eRecovery. Under eRecovery it has option "Download latest version and recovery" > "Download and recovery" > "Starting WIFI failed". Actually I can connect to wifi earlier and this what happens to the eRecovery "Getting package info failed". But now it CANT connect to the wifi.
3. I tried the firmware rollback but it didnt help
Rommco05 said:
2. Try remove password from your wifi connection and again try download recovery
Or, download full firmware B360 (2 zips) unzip both and separately put to dload foldet on sdcard

This is what I'm doing now downloading FRD-L19C636B360 Full OTA which is 1.4GB from boycracked.com then will use the 3 button combo to install it using dload folder in the sd card. Still waiting to download the file. Will update you once tried
What do you mean by the "(2 zips)" ? What I only know it has UPDATE.APP.

There were 2 b380 available, 1st is 300mb 2nd file is full ota. I only downloaded d full ota. No PV at d end as far as i remember. Used wifi proxy > system update ota > start download pause > return wifi config > resume ota update.

I think PV filenames is for twrp. I just read that updating to b380 you need to rollback to b120 which is marshmallow then jump to b380. As long as i can return it to my stock b360 Im fine with it. I will just wait for Oreo or OTA update without using FF since this issue is driving me nuts. It's just 5 day old phone n this already happened. My download is still at 50% very frustrating download speed

It may be because you flashed it manually. And unless we have rollback package for your model you may not be able to rollback to MM. Are you planning to install custom ROM or want to be on stock rom only.
Updater is not there means tou wont get OTA bit test build wont impact anything.
You may need to flash the oeminfo of your model as well.

I would advise to wait for official OTA (as you got the phone yesterday) but if you really want to do it-
Download this- http://update.hicloud.com:8180/TDS/data/files/p3/s15/G1279/g104/v82620/f2/full/update.zip
and this http://update.hicloud.com:8180/TDS/...cseas/update_data_full_BLL-L22_hw_spcseas.zip
Flash first file and boot to system. Then 2nd and boot.
You need to use dload method as below
Unzip 1st file and extract the package. You will get few files including update.app.
Few suggest to use only update.app file but I would advise, based on my personal experience for all dload method I tried, use all the files.
Create a folder dload under SD card and copy all the files to this folder.
Power off the phone. Remove USB cable, if connected.
Press volume up+volume down keys and simultaneously press power button (3 keys together)
Your phone will automatically detect the package and will start the update process.
Once the update process is successful, you will get a message as update was successful and your phone will restart automatically.
During restart, phone will verify the system image.
This verification and 1st boot may take upto 2-3 minutes so do not panic.
Repeat the same with 2nd zip file.
Good luck. Happy Flashing.

I'm gifting my father in law an Honor 6X. I already unlocked the bootloader and rooted, but I'd like for him to be able to install updates when they're released. If I uninstall all the bloatware while rooted and then relock the bootloader, will root be retained? Will TWRP be removed? Will OTA updates be allowed? This is all on the stock ROM.

I believe you should be able to receive updates with the bootloader unlocked. The OTA might relock the bootloader and will most likely remove root. In order to update you will need to also have stock recovery installed so there would be no way for him to root again without unlocking the bootloader and flashing twrp.

Its also if you flashed twrp not only custom roms. You can uninstall root in the superSU app when selecting full unroot in the settings. I believe a factory reset can do it too. The next step would be to download the firmware for the phone and using fastboot to flash a boot and recovery image and then to lock the bootloader. Those steps are all in the link. That is the quickest way.

Ok now extract the files from the update.zip folder. Then take the UPDATE.app from the extracted files and open it with update extractor: https://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2433454
After that your ready to follow the steps on the other guide.
So I screwed up. Before you posted I unrooted via unSU flashable zip. Then I fastboot flashed boot and recovery to the stock one from the update.app file. Now it's got some verification error on power on and OTA updates fail. I tried moving the update.app to a dload folder on sdcard, but when it starts up it fails at 5% when restoring from the sdcard.
ETA: Tried the 360 FW which updated successfully. Booted and asked for password. After panicking shutdown and copied the HW contents to Sdcard and did the update again which succeeded. Booted and asked for password again and I panicked again. Pulled the Sdcard and booted into stock recovery. Wiped everything and then restarted crossing fingers. Started up like normal, no password request! So it looks like the phone is back on totally stock EMUI 5.0. I'll hope for the update and will try with fingers and toes crossed. Thanks for your help. I may be back, but hopefully not.
ETA2: There's no update option above the last About option in settings... How do I get the update option?

Edit: Before trying below steps. Just put the files from "BLN-L24_hw_usa"(b360) into dload folder and flash with dload. It might update the version.img without the needs for the steps below. if that brings the build number back to b360 use the hisui(PC) application to connect to the phone and update
Ok i forgot to mention something. The reason you dont have a update option is because you are on b360 which never had a button. Your build number on your phone will say b366 but thats incorrect. You cant receive an ota automatically because the phone thinks its already on the latest version. You need to take the UPDATE.APP from the "BLN-L24_hw_usa" (b360) folder and extract the VERSION.IMG file. It needs to be flashed with TWRP because fastboot wont work for some reason. That file will fix the build number and change it back to b360 so you can receive the OTA which will also restore the missing apps and features. That means you have to unlock the bootloader. Flash twrp. Flash the vendor.img with twrp and then do the dload method.
You have all the files and have done it already so this time will be easier. Ive done this way too many times with this phone. Sorry i forgot the mention the one step
Build number on my phone is already 360, and it has never been 366. Tried flashing the 360 like you said via dload and nothing seems to have changed.
Also the SIMtray eject tool seems to just go into the phone without ejecting the tray. A paperclip worked, but man this phone is really frustrating.

Oh ok my build number always got stuck at b366. Try connecting with the HiSuite program and getting an OTA. And yes this is the strangest, most difficult phone to work with that ive ever owned.

Wife made me box it up and ship to her dad, so I no longer have the phone. I did install the HiSuite when I first powered on the phone and it was never able to connect and see the phone, so who knows what's going on.
Thanks for all your help. I have another one, but I'm just going to sell it and be done with it. No idea what other phone I can get with the same specs for the same price that's not so difficult to flash, but I'll keep looking I guess.

Its not difficult. In order to connect to hisuite you need to enable developer settings and allow usb debugging or type hisuite in the settings search bar and click "allow HiSuite to use HDB". I got this phone for christmas and i already know a ton about it. It may seem complicated now but its really nothing.
