Working :
Basic twrp features
partially dual boot (different rom can be boot on both slots but still share same userdata, recommend to use fastboot method)
Decryption only support for fbev2 rom (example is some older rom, and kyasu lineageos)
otg / sdcard
Issues / Notes :
vibration is really wonky (which only happened on twrp, not orange fox) not quite fix, but it's stable enough to confirm
you might need to reflash rom "once" after you boot into recovery (flash twrp > boot to twrp > reboot to system (you'll see system corrupt) then reflash same rom that you currently using (via fastboot or twrp if rom support), after that it'll be fine. only on custom rom, stock is fine)
doesn't works with kyasu lineage due to using device model as ota assert (different than twrp ota assert, which is pdx206) fixed in latest build
doesn't support stock, due to different decryption key
ext4 only, no erofs and other models for now (1 ii and pro might release later, busy working new device tree for kumano)
format data, before flashing any rom (unless you doing a dirty flash)
For Stock users, use THIS TWRP instread this one

OTA probably won't work
The Xperia5ii PDX206 doesn't have an official LineageOS, so OTAs don't do much.

there's some problem on some roms for missing ota assert (tested on ricedroid), but if it works. no problem

Sorry, but I didn't understand with which ROM(s) and version does this TWRP works.
And any OrangeFox would possibly be developed?

tl;dr
- twrp works on android 12 (but decryption doesn't works on stock)
- twrp can't install lineageos (due to different device target, mine use pdx206 and lineage uase xq-as72)
(we're already discussed about device ota on dev group, so i'll use pdx206 for now, more custom rom in future will use pdx206 as target device)
Ok then, I am a real noob, I don't understand what does mean "PDX206".
I don't understand what you mean saying ‘due to different device target, mine use pdx206 and lineage uase xq-as72’.
To me, the XQ-AS72 is the code of the South Asian variant of Xperia 5 ii, whereas XQ-AS62/52/42 other variants.
Whereas PDX206 is just a codename meaning Xperia 5 ii (whatever variant of XQ-ASXX it is) used by I dunno who.
Am I wrong?

it's ota assert (in this case, target_device) that custom rom is set when flashing (to avoid flashing into wrong device)
lineage has been set for xq-as72 as default (don't confuse with device variants, ota assert or target_device doesn't affect with device variant that you use)
and twrp have been set to pdx206 (which is device codename for 5ii) so that's main reasons why it can't flash lineageos (but you can still access data normally)
Ok
Thank you loipuru, I got it now.
update,
- add xq-xx72 for lineageos flashing
the rest like /oem (for japanese variant) ltalabel and ta will come out later

Hello,
Do you think in this new version the "roaming bug" will be fixed ?
I have tried all custom roms available (lineage 14.1, ViperOS and RR) and any is working for data in roaming.

To solve data roaming issues you just have to flash the latest stock rom using the stock recovery, start it up, then reinstall your custom rom of choice. Backup your data first!
At least this has worked for me with LineageOS 14.1 (using the stock rom version "WW-14.2020.1708.56").
I've had a hard time figuring this out - I even compiled the ROM myself, trying anything I could imagine to solve this.
By flashing the stock rom properly all the special firmware partitions the phone has get updated too - the bug is in one of them, not the rom itself.
A custom rom installation normally doesn't touch those partitions.

Thanks a lot.
It's true I upgraded from stock 6.0.1 to lineage 7.1.2
Now i flashed back to latest stock (7.0) but with twrp recovery: it's work fine ( i have only a weird message about dm-verify on boot.)
So if now if I flash lineage with twrp you think the bug disappear ?

I'm not sure if TWRP updated those partitions so it's possible it doesn't work...
I think you should reflash the latest stock rom with the right stock recovery, then reinstall the latest TWRP and Lineage.

Hello,
you mention the "data" issue on roaming. Do you mean to unlock Band 20?
I have a ZE520KL TW version and rooted it, now I try to make Band 20 working,
but without success. Should i try LineageOS15.0 and will it help or not at all?
Thank you.
Does this work on the ZC520TL X008D? I don't mind testing I just want to make sure it doesn't brick my phone before a blind flash.
Please make rom for ZC551KL. We haven't a custom rom or kernel. i'm so unhappy.

For my virgin Mobile version I just used the sprint firmware. I thought the same was true for boost. It provisions when you boot up. It has vendor info for sprint, virgin, boost, etc. Did you remove all the others to make it boost only?
Just asking because I want to update my wife's virgin model. From 26.69-48 to 26.69-56. it's great you're making twrp flashable zips. Makes it much easier. She hasn't downloaded the ota yet (limited data) but when she does I'll definitely post a link. I used firmware from here for mine. The ones at the bottom of the page without 7.1.1 in the filename.

I didn't remove anything. The Boost rom is only the system, and the partition updater I just removed all the modem, oem and system patches and checks, and added the updated oem and modem imgs. I'll do Sprint shortly, if you want to wait a bit.
I could only download the Boost OTA over WiFi. It wouldn't let otherwise. It specifically said it was large and available over WiFi only.

They actually don't. I've just came to the conclusion that the ones with 7.1.1 in the title are Boost and without 7.1.1 are Sprint. Boost has only had one update sine the release. There's 3 of the firmwares without 7.1.1.

Just to confirm, these are fully stock with no modifications, ie all the bloat from the original metro os is still included?

Yes. I will do debloated versions, but I'm not sure what can be removed from that model without causing problems. These ROMs are pretty finicky about what you remove. Some apps removable on previous Moto devices cause problems now. Some seem ok to remove at first, but when you wipe data or flash a rom that's too debloated, you get force closes. I'll need someone to confirm what can be removed since I only know what can be safely removed from the Boost variant.
Edit: if you know what is removable from the OEM on the metro variant, I'll make a debloated flashable of that also. I didn't think that one had much in there anyway. Not nearly as much as Boost Sprint.

LineageOS is a free, community built, aftermarket firmware distribution of Android 8.1 (Oreo), which is designed to increase performance and reliability over stock Android for your device.
LineageOS is based on the Android Open Source Project with extra contributions from many people within the Android community. It can be used without any need to have any Google application installed. Linked below is a package that has come from another Android project that restore the Google parts. Lineage OS does still include various hardware-specific code, which is also slowly being open-sourced anyway.
Code:
* Your warranty is now void.
* We are not responsible for bricked devices, dead SD cards,

I have problems booting your ROM. Im running atm on my pralx1 (rebranded to cn) AOSP 8.1. This Treble rom is booting without problems. I installed this lineage img via fastboot and twrp but after the warning screen the device will not boot the rom and restarts the device everytime. Then i flashed the aosp 8.1 img again with twrp and it booted without problems. Im also not able to revert to EMUI 8 btw. Same problem and idk what is wrong.
-----------------------------------------------------------------
Edit: v.08.04.2018
Solved. Magisk caused the problem. Only way (and fastest) to solve it, was to load a backup from the same device on which is this Lineage ROM already booting (thx to @Striike) or just no Magisk installed before.
(I tried to install Magisk after booting up this ROM and it caused the same booting issue).
Haky, good job on being on the news feed! Congratulations!

Moderator Announcement: THREAD CLOSED on request of OP @mauronofrio!
In future, please follow this thread in the Cross-device Development Section.
Team Win Recovery Project 3.x, or twrp3 for short, is a custom recovery built with ease of use and customization in mind. Its a fully touch driven user interface no more volume rocker or power buttons to mash. The GUI is also fully XML driven and completely theme-able. You can change just about every aspect of the look and feel.

Features:
- TWRP boots;
- Fastboot boot is working;
- Decryption is working.
- Vibration is working.
- System, Vendor and Product partitions mount is working but you can't modify them.
- You can flash magisk and others kernels.
- You can flash ROMs.
- Format Data still broken.
Install guide (Reccomended):
Acutally seems oneplus (or directly android 10) re-introduced the recovery partition so you should only flash it in recovery partition or you can try to boot it from fastboot. For now only boot it.
To flash:
Code:
fastboot flash recovery_a twrpname.img
fastboot flash recovery_b twrpname.img
To boot:
Code:
fastboot boot twrpname.img
Tips:
If you have some problems with backup, like 255 error or something similar please check this guide: https://forum.xda-developers.com/oneplus-6/how-to/255-error-twrp-backup-restore-999-t3801632
For the Bacups use always "system_image" and "vendor_image" instead of "system" and "vendor".

lol I think he knows that. Please do not start drama. He asked a question that literally implied he does not know much about this. I answered with exactly what you said. You literally butted in to basically sound mean when I said exactly what you said in a nicer form. Have a great day.
Im so happy with this damn phone, within 10 minutes it was unlocked! why can't others give you this option!!.

Have you tried twrp? I am waiting on my bootloader unlock. I'm excited to already have this.
Wait but @Dees_Troy said TWRP isn't currently supported on devices that ship with Android 10.
What is this black magic?
Any idea when the decryption part will start working ?
I upgraded to 10.5.7 GLOBAal and a magisk module is causing a boot loop. I tried to patch a a new boot.img but it's not working .
Would love to be able to flash magisk through twrp . Right now I need /data decrypted. Any idea ?
Can I make a copy of my persist partition with this TWRP? (only boot recovery, not flash)
Hi guys, i'm here again to ask for your support, actually with android 10 Google introduced a lot of changing, from dynamic partitions to the new keymaster 4 encryption/decryption. Teamwin is working hard to update TWRP but they will still take some time. Currently some things already work but there are difficulties in bringing them to the OnePlus 8/8 Pro, for example decryption already works but creates some problems on the OnePlus devices. That's why I decided to create a Paypal moneybox to be able to bring you the latest updates in the shortest time possible. As I have previously done, I assure you of a support of at least 2 years (within the limits of my possibilities). In addition to the TWRP I will improve the fastboot roms and add OnePlus 8/8 Pro to my TOOL ALL IN ONE (and maybe I will also bring the RevengeOS). By getting hold of a OnePlus 8 or 8 Pro I will also be able to improve the TWRP for OnePlus 7T and 7T Pro.
OnePlus 8/8 Pro PayPal MoneyBox: https://www.paypal.com/pools/c/8pfrIOL3Qa
If you are unable to participate in the PayPal moneybox, you can make a normal donation (perhaps specifying that it is for the moneybox), however all private donations that I will receive for this or other projects will be included in the moneybox.
Private PayPal Donations: https://www.paypal.me/MauronofrioTool
I want to thank all those who supported me, in 2 days I have already managed to buy the OnePlus 8 Pro, I will receive it in about a week and then I will immediately get to work. I will remove the link of the Paypal moneybox and let it close by itself so as to keep it in the historical (it will close tomorrow). A big thank you to everyone.
I rooted it without twrp but root explorer doesn't work as well. Because of I try to change UI sound in the system and it doesn't allow me to, I already grant root explorer to superuser but it still with issue. I'm not sure what's problem.

Yeah. I popped in a OTG and tried a backup. Let me know if you need anything tested.
Code:

Working :
Basic twrp features
partially dual boot (different rom can be boot on both slots but still share same userdata, recommend to use fastboot method)
Decryption only support for stock rom (due to different decryption type)
otg / sdcard
Issues / Notes :
all changes from fbev2 version are present in this twrp
you can flash custom rom without any problem, but you need to use fbev2 twrp for access data
support android 10 (tested on xq-as52) up to latest firmware
if you're using custom rom, use THIS twrp for decrypt data
Big thanks :
christopher, for send me the device
clfbbn for kernel source
skkk (sekaiacg) for base device tree

Hello, thanks for TWRP
I run my Xperia 5 ii XQ-AS72 on Android 12 58.2.A.10.33 stock ROM rooted with MagisK.
What's the step-by-step process to flash TWRP recovery without losing my userdata?

ofox is compatible, but it isn't me who will build it. (there's someone who build ofox for 5ii but didn't release everywhere)
