the touch of my Huawei p40 often freezes (quite often) z.b. Do not touch at 2 seconds then the touch somehow freezes or can't be used until I turn the display on and on the touch reacts again I was with an expert who told me that I should leave the phone completely empty and run then it should be fully charged in the off mode this I have already done but that did not help also is the display is not dirty exposed to rain or such someone has perhaps a solution how to fix the problem?
i took it to phone shop and they factory reset phone , when test it it was same problem , then they installed fresh copy of system (dload) and the problem did not go away , so they open it and removed the screen and reinstall it but the problem did not go away . they said it might be board issue .

Im having some trouble trying to get the touchscreen to work properly..
I though it was a random bug with phone's the lock system [as i've never configured it nor used it before].. Several minutes after booting the touch screen would stop working, but all the bottons would work perfectly and respond on time..So i decided to flash the room..
Before flashing I did a hard reset [got hardspl], everything went ok until the calibration screen came up.. The first thing it asks you to do is tap it.. I have to tap it several tens of times and wait minutes [5-10] for it to respond.. I get to the white screen where the calibration cross appears, I tap it several times and wait some minutes but I guess the system thinks Im not taping in the right zone and just starts the process all over again..
I have no idea that's going on with the touch screen.. Can't use the phone at all..
Restore your handset to Stock SPL and Stock ROM
Return your device to HTC/Carrier for a replacement
unless of course the fault is your own, they shouldnt have too much of an issue with that
I live in Costa Rica.. They don't even sell HTC here, neverless a replacement and its oow anyways..
I think its related to the digitizer, i applied some pressure on the lower left side and it's working now, will most likely fail again though..

I have this strange behavior going on in my Sentation.
Out of nowhere my phone started to have strange screen behavior... Didn't light up after pressing the power button (had to phone my self in order to get screen on).
The next thing was that suddenly the screen goes to maximum brightness or goes to minimum without any explanation (tried both auto brightness or manual).
After that I noticed that the screen went off when I was using it but when I pressed the left side of it it lighted up and off again... making me think of some kind of bad contact underneath. As I already had changed a broken touch screen for t3 times, and let the phone fall for several times I thought it had to do with some plug out of line...
I disassembled the phone completely and mounted up back again. The thing is that the phone started to freeze every 5 minutes (screen on but completely freezed. I have to pul out battery). Sometimes it freezes even in the recovery menu. I've tried several rom's with full wipe and not installing anything and its all the same.
Some times I still not that the screen goes off during the freeze but when I touch the left side it goes on again, but that doesn't change the freezed state even that I let down the phone for several minutes.
I disassemble the phone again, tried different back cover and different battery (one stock and other extra strength) I tried also all the suggestion related to the small pin in the back not connecting well with the back cover (adding an aluminium foil, pulling the pin out, etc..)
Nothing seams to resolve anything so I have clearly an hardware problem... but I don't know what to replace or where to look the damage!!!
Can anybody help me please?!

I have an update on my problem:
I noticed that when I leave the phone on top of some kind of metal part and don't touch it it works all day without any problem but, as soon as I start to touch the phone, it freezes within minutes!
Could it be some kind of static electrical problem? How to resolve it?

I've a funny problem with my tablet that is a Mediacom Smartpad 722i based on AML8726-M3.
When it is doing nothing, sometimes when i wakeup it, it remains locked on a black screen and i've to wait that it's battery is discharged or i've to put the charge connector and it wakeup.
When it wakeup and is unlocked or at the next reboot, the system data is on 02/01/1970 O.O and for 1-2 minutes it was very slowly.
I noticed that when it is on black screen, on the side of the touchscreen where is the CPU, the screen is hot and from the speakers the tablet put out some noice.
For this, i think when it is locked on black screen, it is doing something and for this the side of CPU is hot.
I think it is a problem of the stock ROM, the stock ROM is a 4.0.4 ICS.
Other users of other tablets resolved this problem with Clocksync, but in this case it was useless.
What do you think? How i can solve this problem?
The stock rom on the tablet is the last update from Mediacom.

This happens sometimes with all devices it is either an app or the system freezing wile the cpu is under a heavy load. When you press your power button dose the screen come on with a black glow or stay completely off. I would suggest doing a factory reset and check for any updates, or even better custom rom. I would suggest you dont use any restore features after your reset as this could restore the cause of the problem. I would suggest going on your computer to the play store installing all the apps you want remotely. Its faster atleast for me to scroll threw the website and set all my favorite apps to install then trying to scroll threw the store on my phone wile its slow from downloading apps.
I dont have your device but I have had a few tabs. There may be a reset button some where or try holding all the buttons for 15 seconds to restart your tab when it is frozen like this.

Hello! I have a stock Android Lollipop 5.0.1 Nexus 5 and for the past week or so I have been experiencing a weird issue.
The device randomly crashes. By "crashes" I mean the screen goes black, but the backlight is still on (it's a lighted black). I can push the power button and it will turn completely black (locked) and if I push it once more it turns lighted black again.
To get the device back into usable state I have to keep the power button pressed until the phone resets. Sometimes I keep it pushed for a full minute and nothing happens, sometimes 10 seconds are enough. Sometimes it will go through the "Google" logo and then stay in the lighted black state until I finally manage to reboot it again. Sometimes it crashes again right after it boots up.
It's weird because a lot of the times it's ok throughout the day and then when I go out in the evening, I take it out of the pocket and I see it crashed. Sometimes it crashes while I actually use it.
Last night it started doing something else: instead of lighted black, the screen is filled with static noise. It doesn't move or anything, it's a still image. Today, when a crash like that occurred, the screen glitched first (random lines on the screen, some parts got moved, really weird). I will get some photos if it happens again.
The problem is that I can't identify what's causing it. There is no particular app or action that I do / use that triggers this. It also doesn't seem to be movement-based, as it sometimes happens while it's sitting still on a table.
I updated to 5.0.1 about a day before this started happening, but I'm still not sure if it's software or hardware-based.
I tried a factory reset and booting into safe mode, none of these helped. I will only consider flashing a custom ROM as a final resort, because I'm not sure if it voids the warranty.
PS: the device is still under warranty, but I'm away for the holidays and will be until the beginning of the next year. And I'd like to have a usable device, especially while I'll be on the road.

I have none of your issues, try booting the device in safe mode and see if the problems still occure. It must be a or multiple downloaded apps that are causing your issues. Or try a data factory reset and restore/download your apps one by one amd try to identify the culpritt.

I said in the post that I tried both of those things. The crash occurred seconds after booting in safe mode and factory reset did not help either.

Flashing the 5.0.1 factory image in fastboot should fix your issues. Or try flashing system.img first, maybe thats enough.
Same issues with my Nexus 5

I am experiencing SAME exactly issues in my N5 with 5.01 and 5.1 . EXACTLY... you are not alone
Seems a software problem (third party app ?) , started in 5.01 and now is in 5.1 , of course system and boot images where flashed with fastboot, so no solution using
Stock, Rooted, using Nova Launcher - Smartwatch 2 - Google Cardboard - Chromecast and many apps.
But started ..if memory helps .. after installing Cardboard 3D apps.

My phone had an issue with the screen. I went to the LG service and they replaced the screen entirely, so that's that.

i'm in the same case... I don't have any clues or solutions, i'm just wainting like a dumb... I don't know what to do, i always have to make the thing with the power button and the lower sound button to make it show the boot screen, but it glitch after few seconds... PLS HALP
So basically, around 2-3 weeks ago my phone's screen started acting up. Usually it'd take me two tries when turning the screen on to actually get the touch screen working. As in, I turned the screen off, the touch screen doesn't register any touches, then I shut the screen down and try again, and it sometimes works. Now, this didn't bother me - I though, maybe there's some short circuiting, it may fix itself. Fast forward 2 days later. my touch screen now needs minimum 3 tries to work, up to 9 or 10 sometimes. Note that when my touchscreen starts working, it works without a problem, all 5 fingers until the screen is shut down. Then I did something that COMPLETELY broke it - I restarted my phone. The touch screen never worked then. Like ever. I could try 100 times and it wouldn't work. I'd take out the battery, let it reset nice and **** - it doesn't work. So the next thing I did was a factory reset in recovery - the phone is restored to functionality before restarting it. Now, I didn't shut down my phone for 2 weeks, nor did it run out of battery - it's the same. Today, I've restarted it and the same problem occurred again - touchscreen completely unresponsive. So, I did the same thing as before, only this time I tested dalvik-cache and cache separately - none worked in any combination without a factory reset - at this point, I'm already certain the problem is in the software, and not the hardware. So, guess what - phone was restored to functionality with 2-3 tries after that reset. Then - an even more peculiar thing - I've enabled the touch gestures to turn on a screen. Most of the time when the screen turns on with a double tap, the password screen reacts to touch, but there are cases when I double tap, it opens, and then it doesn't work - it doesn't register touches. Most of the time, though, it doesn't even open the screen through the double tap. I've also noticed that it would sometimes happen when running - for an example, I play a lot of Cytus and Deemo - whenever there would be a break of more than 2 seconds between taps, if I didn't tap in between (so, when there are no beats to hit), it would sometimes completely ignore the next tap, as if the digitizer turned its touch detection off due to inactivity...
At this point, I have no idea what it is. I know that it's not the proximity sensor which I had originally suspected, and I know that the problem lies somewhere inside Android data folders or something a factory reset wipes. However, I have no idea where. My phone has been rooted and runs xposed, although I haven't used it since the reset - I wanted to flash a custom rom but found none other than Mstars 5.0 fresh install ROM. So, if anyone recognizes this problem, can I fix it with a new ROM flashed? Can I fix it by finding the **** that's causing this and always delete it at startup via script? Or should I just attempt to fix my phone in a repair shop?
