Rom for a Clone Samsung Galaxy S20 Ultra 5G MT6580 ? - General Questions and Answers

I just picked up this phone a short time ago, not original, with a version of android that was not stable and ended up not working at all.
Now android does not want to launch anymore.
I can't find a stable rom to install it on. Does it exist?
Thanks for the help!

What caused it stop working?
In your screenshot above, the line that says:
SW Ver.:
alps-mp-n0. mp2-V1_hct6580. weg. n_P150
You should do a Google search using that, it might find a copy of the original firmware to restore the device to its original state.
Your screenshot also shows your CPU series(mt6580) and your board series(z3q)
You should be doing Google searches using that CPU series and the board series in your search terms. For example, do a Google search for:
"mt6580 z3q firmware"
Or something similar.
The chances aren't good that you will find a solution because cloned devices are so hacked together that you can't even trust the information that the device gives you to identify itself and it's hardware/software. A lot of times they will say that they are "this" when they are actually "that" or that it has "this" installed when it actually has "that" installed.
There are some Russian sites/forums that might be able to help you find a software version that works on your specific motherboard/CPU architecture. It might not be an "exact" fit but you might be able find something that works, though, some features may not work or may work but not work like they "should".

I don't know exactly, it was having more and more trouble going to android, then by force it got stuck on the phone's boot logo.
Hardware problems? Software problems? That's why I'm trying to reinstall the rom to see if that can help it work again.

I tried all these searches, without precisely finding a downloadable rom, that's why I turned to this forum hoping to find a solution?

I hope I don't just have to put the phone in the trash ?

it was trash already before, mt6580 is not 5G

Russian sites have firmware for all kinds of obscure or cloned device, they also have people that might be able to help you find something close enough to work and then help you piece together a fully working firmware to make everything work like it should, use Google Translate in your browser. If you dig deep enough for long enough, you might get lucky.

literally first google result firmware.gem-flash.com (5 bucks)

When an un-preferred answer/solution is so obvious and prevalent but an alternative answer/solution is not obvious or prevalent, this is usually a good indicator that a more preferred solution is not very likely. Sometimes people are not looking for the answer/solution that they "need", rather they will only be satisfied with the answer/solution that they "want", while ignoring the answer/solution that has already shown itself to be the answer/solution that will work. A completely fallacious way of thinking, like looking for another way to add 2+2 to get 4 when adding 2+2 to get 4 is already shown to be the way to do it. Humans, go figure, lol.

[ROMS] [WIP] ICS AOKP and CM9 Alphas Moto Atrix 2 UPDATED (7/6/12)

Notice: These builds are experimental and most likely not fully, or at all working. Proceed at your own risk.
EDITS:
7/6- changed download link up a directory
7/6- added sd card fix that can be added to a build to allow sdcard use and JRW 28's build.prop to utils folder
This is where I am going to post all my CM9 and AOKP work. Please feel free to pitch in and help out if you can. You can PM me if you want privacy, but I would rather keep most of the discussion open in this thread so that others can see.
What do we have here?
Most if not all of what I will write about here is based on ROMS for other devices that can be found here. These ROMS are not meant to be used as a "daily driver" if you will, but more to be tested and hopefully improved until they work. The hope would be to get the radio working so they could actually be used to make calls.
Versions
I'm dividing the builds up into different categories
1. Nightly- They probably won't actually be nightly, maybe 2 some day and then not 1 for a week, but they are the most cutting edge, and may not even boot. Only nightly builds currently exsist.
2. Release Candidate (RC)- a bit stabler, will work fine, but will still have problems as listed.
Changelog
7/6/12:
Initial releases of AOKP and CM9. both are based of Droid 3 and AOKP appears not to boot
Problems
Here is a list of generic problems, along with ones specific to certain builds. I'll add on to this.
Generic:
1. No radio- This is the big one, no clue how we're gonna fix it
CM9 Nightlies:
1. no sd card
2. no wifi
3. no sound
AOKP Nightlies:
Downloads
All download can be found here: http://www.androidfilehost.com/main/Motorola_ATRIX_2_Developers/lkrasner/
Bug reporting
Please report bugs in this thread and be sure to state the following
1. which version (date +nightly, RC or Stable)
2. What the problem is
3. conditions required for it to occur
4 any other important details.
Example: 7/6/12 nightly no sound only in airplane mode also causing apps to force close when trying to play sound (that is all made up)
Want to help out with fixing? Please PM me or let me know here what you think you can fix, or ask me to give you a job. Thanks!!!
Just in case...
I will look into the taboo world of the RIL.... since I know that is off limits on XDA...
I will communicate anything through PM though, I just wanted to put it in here, so others knew not to discuss this here, and that I was going to see what I can achieve on cracking the RIL.

Because it has to do with the radio, and opening it up. Modifying or talk of modifying radios, cell unlock, S-off, and hacking free cell service are all off limits on XDA. I am not 100% sure on all of it, so you might check with our mod.
I also sent you a PM too.
About the only thing I can do here is give the correct build.prop setting for CM9/AOKP to work on our phone, and that is the following:
Code:
ro.ril.hsxpa=2
ro.ril.gprsclass=12
ro.ril.hsdpa.category=28
ro.ril.hsupa.catergory=9
What I am going to do is a little more back door and "forcefull" if these setting don't work for anyone who has it loaded or is going to flash it.
right now I can't flash my A2, because I am running another bootloader/kexec type of hack to try to get my unsigned kernel to boot.
This weekend I will try and see what I can do with the actual ro.ril.so files.
Downloaded...can DB for mirrors if anyone needs. May hold off flashing myself until a little more fixing is done. Very excited to see the ball rolling now though. Great job guys...keep it up!
@lkrasner. You sir are bound and determined to get us non stock roms for this phone. Thank you for all of your efforts. I have the weekend off so i will be testing these roms over the next few days to see if i can help in any way. Thanks again.

I noticed a few little issues.
1) The following line is in there twice with different numbers:
Code:
persist.ril.mux.noofchannels = 8
persist.ril.mux.noofchannels=9
2) The ro.ril settings are a little different than our "known good" settings:
Code:
ro.ril.hsxpa=2
ro.ril.gprsclass=10
ro.ril.hsdpa.category=28
ro.ril.hsupa.category=9
Try changing the the ro.ril.grpsclass to 12, as in my above post.
These are just the things that so far stand out to me to begin with.
If anyone wants to give them a try and let us know....

I think I will write up a quick shell script that changes the necessary properties in build.prop so that we can do it to any build and not worry about screwing up other things by totally replacing it.
How should I go about it? sed I guess? any other ideas.

awk and sed or Perl, since Perl has the interpreters and edit functions for text already built in.
It might be best to just have the script create the correct build.prop no matter what, instead of edit it, that way we know that the correct file gets used, and not some "accidental" flub up that someone might have played with... sort of like a built in recovery so to speak. you can always back up any other versions.

but won't that be a problem with different builds? isn't the build.prop different for AOKP and CM9 and even for different ones of those possibly?
I would do Perl, but I have never used it in my life, so I would probably screw something up pretty bad, or just take forever to do it.
Rils are modified and created in other forums, so I wouldn't think it would be a problem for us.

Yes you are right.... I am going to do something that has the possibility that I might have to go rogue and change and release proprietary code in an open format, and that is what is not allowed, and I can't even discuss it here. Anyone who would like more information can PM me.
Here is a rundown on the RIL, and why it is important:
http://www.netmite.com/android/mydroid/development/pdk/docs/telephony.html
We need it to be open source, but it is not, and it is usually propritary code. If I can find an open source version we are in luck and we can compile the CM9 version and just plug it in... otherwise I need to go and hack it.

Nope, that is the place where you can get the opensource RIL files and code... that is why I already knew about it... LOL you found it though so you know what I am on to and after here.
LOL, Yeah I expect a few of them to be honest, and I am guessing that once I crack the bootloader and the RSA cipher that a true suit will come... Oh well Moto can bite it...

Hi, first thank you for your work. Most people don't understand that you guys work for "free", other then donations. Secondly I am asking you directly because in working with this device I have gotten many different responses. Some have stated that roms written for the U8800-Pro will also work on the U8800-51 from Consumer Cellular. I haven't tried that because others have said installing your rom on my 51 would brick it. I have installed and am running Aurora ICS from this guide on XDA
From stock to ICS a guide for your U8800-51 or AT&T Impulse 4G
I don't want to do anything stupid so since this is your rom I was hoping you could give me a difinitive answer, can I use your ROM on the U8800-51? If not is there a ICS Rom you could recommend?
Thank you very much in advance, this is forum in very confusing and I want to do the right thing since it's not my phone but my husbands.

Huawei keyboard is one of the best I have ever seen!
It has one minus (when you type a web address, 'space' is replaced by '.com' by default - you need to press alt), but a huge plus (you can slide to obtain secondary characters instead of long-pressing).
File manager is balanced, not better or worse than others. It is very nicely integrated with the cloud.
Backup application is a good replacement for Titanium (backups data and applications)
I prefer the default 4.1.1 camera. Huawei application has some good points, but still I prefer the default from gapps. Also, please note that Hauwei Gallery does not sync with Picasa!
I don't recommend Huawei Weather, as it does not always work. on the screen in get a location not found.

Thanks for your opinion of this thread.
I think that you can try install ROMs for U8800 & U8800pro to your device. But if you like your current ROM so I recommended "don't try it". U8800-51 has different wi-fi and bt drivers so if you'll try install these ROMs your wi-fi and bt won't work. For recommending ROMs you must install all ROMs for your device because all users have diferents requirements.

I like stock camera app too. For weather: app is working but widget don't work. (widget works only on huawei stock ROMs).
This sounds interesting. I suppose this works with non-Huawei phones? As for the question about Gingerbread, I'm sure these work with a specific version of Android, or rather Huawei's version of Android, e.g. HTC Sense for HTC phones.
In any case, I am curious about the DLNA receiver (or maybe server?) and the keyboard. Had I found this earlier, I could have tested on a couple builds. Nandroid backup my AOKP ROM, then factory reset it, and flash this, test in a clean 4.1.2 ROM, then flash my CM7 Nandroid, factory reset that, flash this, test in a clean 2.3.7 ROM... Woulda been fun. Subscribed to this topic, I'll definitely do all that in a few days when I get a chance, and I will take screenshots if nobody's done it by then.
Thank you so very much. I'll play around with it a bit and let you know what I come up with. Your response is very appreciated and very informative.
Cheers!!!

Aroma appears to have installed nothing. Wallpaper chooser can be installed as a normal app (AFAIK, all wallpaper choosers can... so collect them from ROMs you test, if you like the wallpapers they offer...), not sure about the others. I checked them all in Aroma and it (TWRP I guess) said the flash was successful. But nothing installed. I can push them manually and set permissions accordingly, though.
Camera can be installed as a normal app as well. It's very nice, but it does not support the ICS/JB swipe to preview/swipe back to take another. Also can't seem to record video. It says my internal memory is full (it's not) and that it will save to SD card (that's fine) but pictures take and videos don't record. The record icon doesn't change.
DLNA *seems* to work, but it times out when trying to connect. So does ES File Explorer. Fault: Most likely mine. I suck at networking. I tell Windows 7 to share my damn files and that should be that. Give "Everyone" read permission and no one "write" permission (because f*** you you can't edit my damn files son, but you can look at them). My brother got DLNA (via MotoBlur) to work with PS3 Media Server running in Windows. We use that to stream from PC to Xbox, guess we need it for Android as well (or we could learn networking and not be such chumps, but PS3MS is easy mode).
Not messing with File Manager or Cloud. I already have the best file manager (ES File Explorer, IMO it's the best) and I have a ton of clouds. It feels disingenuous to use Huawei's without buying a Huawei device. They can see you've never used a Huawei device and they can close your account. Whether they will or not is another matter. Dropbox will give you 2GB, Google Drive will give you 5GB, and so will a bunch of others, like Box, SugarSync, and Ubuntu One (the latter doesn't care if you use Ubuntu or not). Amazon also has a 5GB cloud, but no Android app (this is separate from Amazon MP3, which does have an app).
Anyway, thanks for sharing.
i just installed DLNA app, but it doesnt work properly... I cant select folders to share.....i dont think im doing something wrong....

It is possible that this works only on Huawei phones. What phone do you have, what version, ROM, etc...

I just bought a 25 € on aliexpress are there any mod's to model?
DZ09 app
Hi,
I bought a DZ09 and received it last week. I am from the Netherlands...
I like the design and the display is also good. Some functions I will probably never use but in general a nice smartwatch.
I got mine for 28 euros and for that it is not bad.
Only problem is the software for the smartphone. The software you can download by scanning the QR code is Chinese.
Can not get that to work.
I have tried several app but I finally ended up with an app called RWATCH.
That one connects to the smartwatch, you can do all things with sms messages.
One thing is the app crashes to often. That is a pitty so I hope they will increase stability.
Secondly the health control in the smartphone RWATCH app does not seem to work.
Maybe I do something wrong or I just have to wait for an update of the app.
If the app runs it is a good tool.
Hopefully I will find some other software which will run smoothly on the smartphone.
Oh and I have a Samsung Note 4 running Lollipop nowadays.
for me the app downloaded to the barre code work perfectly

I know this is a little old, so hopefully you figured it out, but go here http://www.fundo.cc/other/download/FunDoAPP/
that's the qr code site. download the one labeled "BTNotifications Android". that's the one that works with the dz09.
Thank you thedarkharlequin for posting the proper link for us all above. I have had my DZ09 for just over 1 week. I had many issues with the original download wich is provided to you through the QR code located on the watch. After a day of fighting with it crashing all the time I looked to the app store on my SGH-I337M and saw a lot of promising looking apps that were all claiming to do the job. First I tried the BT Notifications like the watch said. Though it was an upgraded version it worked just as well as the first. I then tried other apps that claimed to work with the watch. Same story. Found an app called SmartWear which did the job for the notifications but left all the other capabilities in the dirt. Once I tried the link above I have had all functions and capabilities working 100%
Thanks thedarkharlequin - worked for me too.

Me 3, my DZ09 just arrived to Denmark from China after 6½ weeks of waiting, so plenty of time to bookmark your post, just love it, thank you SO much thedarkharlequin! :good:
BTW couldn't even get the darned bar-code to work (several QR-apps), maybe I turned off to much Google spy on my phone? Anyway the parring works like a charm with this app, only my DZ09 doesn't have the cool watch-faces and animations I've seen on videos so next step is another firmware, just hope my watch isn't a fake one..

Year, I thought I had found one just waiting for me (I did, her name is Berit, but that's a whole other story), but that was for MTK6250, ours are MTK6260A as far as I know, so didn't apply at all.. :silly: The tool provided in the download might work for us however, if anyone
ANYONE??
could find a nice firmware or even somebody who have the nice firmware in his/her DZ09 and knows how to scratch it out for share (I don't know that stuff)..
This is the site I found (and maybe so did some of you) http://chinagadgetsreviews.blogspot.dk/2014/08/mtk6250-bluetooth-154-lcd-watch.html Still not for us mind you, but if one of them brilliant nerds in here is watching, please help us! :fingers-crossed:
For you guys who have had there watches for a while can you answer me a couple of questions.
When the phone and watched are synced I like that you can see who is calling but I want to be able to answer my phone to speak and not talk through the watch! Even when I make a call on the phone while paired to the watch it comes out of thr watch and not the phone.
While using Google music I want to be able to skip songs etc thr only way this can be done is if the music comes out of thr watch but not when it comes out of the phone.
Thanks
Should have a look, I think this is what we've been looking for.

Chip is the same, and I think the specs. are similar enough for the firmware to work on our DZ09s (but what do I know(?)), unfortunately both links are down, but I see the watch here in XDA, possible with firmware, haven't got time for a closer look today (tonight DK time), but will look into that tomorrow!
Edit nov. 11,
OK folks, I am very short of time today, but would someone please take a look at this thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/smartwatch/other-smartwatches/ai-watch-z20-mtk6260a-t2957013 and this site http://forum.android.com.pl/topic/202745-aiwatch-z20/ ? I think they may be our people although I somehow doubt the firmware mentioned has the fun/cool stuff we are looking for.

I checked the site and do what I'd had to do and my watch died so I used my guaranty now they repaired my watch
What I discovered is that we have a clone watch from u10 due to I found two types of firmware of the same watch but different type.
Our model is Zd09 no other so be careful cause you can install firmwares and they run buy your watch may be died or the screen can not work
batterry
batt damn , just bought and using about 3 hours, WEAK.
Can someone tell me if this watch is capable of sending/receiving text messages that come to your phone? I've been reading mixed messages on the net. I'm not talking about texts to the phone's own phone number.
Hey, I’ve got my hands on a DZ09 with exactly the cool animations, transition modes and watch-faces I believe quite a few of us are were looking for, but only for borrow. Does anybody know how to copy the firmware, so that we can work on getting it into our watches?

It most certainly can receive (via BlueTooth) messages sent to the pocket phone, it also receives emails sent to the pocket, and sometimes even (but not all) Skype messages. And you can browse text messages in your pocket as well as contacts and call records right on your wrist. I don't know about writing text messages and sending them through BT, haven't tried that because the keyboard/handwriting doesn't support Danish letters "æ, ø and å", but I suppose it is possible, only it's a very small screen for the purpose, don't think you would do that much as it is far more comfortable to use your pocket phone for writing.

AdHell 2
Code:
*** Disclamer
I first want to note that the original developer did not help me in any way with this, he did not provide me with the code (it was found from public forks from his Github), nor guidance on modifying the app. I do not want to cause him any further inconvenience or trouble with his job.
I simply forked the code and made some minor changes, so majority credit goes to the original dev, but as he is now dissociated from the project any other developers (including some of the contributors from the first version) are welcome to help continue. I take no responsibility for any issues this app may cause with your device.
Introduction
Hi everyone, since Adhell was removed from the Play Store and the code was taken down from Github, I (not the original developer) got a copy of the publicly available code and made some changes to remove dependence on the original developer's server and removed the subscription on the new permissions feature. It was a very quick and dirty edit, but it was just to ensure the app still works once the original developer takes down everything related from his website, which the app relies on.
The way this app works was to utilize Samsung's Knox framework which included a Firewall feature that allowed ads to be blocked. The additional features such package disabling and permission blocking were also done through Knox. In order to make a Knox compatible app, a license has to be used, and the only way to get one is from Samsung unfortunately. It is fairly easy to get a "development" key from Samsung which lasts for 1-3 months (I believe) and so I have modified the app to require each user to enter their own key. I know this is not ideal, but it will keep working like this, and it reduces threat of Samsung revoking the license and disabling the app entirely for everyone. If any developer wants to help me rework the app, please let me know, help is definitely appreciated, and my code is still open source and available on Github. I'm a broke college student with very little time to work on this, and am by no means a professional dev, so I apologize in advance for slow updates and probably little in the way of additional features. I will do my best to keep it working.

Installation instructions
So to procure your own "developer" license, you need to go to this link, and either register for a Samsung account or sign into your own, and then enroll as a developer. After that proceed to this link and generate a Knox Standard SDK Enterprise license key with a generic "key alias" (I recommend something like "testing", not something like "adhell", just in case). Copy over the key to your device somehow (email, Join, Pushbullet, etc.) as it is pretty long. When you open up the new Adhell 2 app, you will see a popup asking you to enable device admin access, enter a key, and then enable license, do the three steps in that order. If the key is not entered correctly, the license will not activate.

followed your steps. got my key. enter it in and it fails to register. what is the middle button for in the popup? submit knox key i think it says. i have tried reinstalling it a couple times. i have used both the really long knox key samsung gave me and the much shorter key. i have tried with and without pushing the middle button before the activation button. nothing seems to work. no idea what i am doing wrong here. verizon s8+ running unlocked firmware.
Edit: Just went and got an enterprise key as someone on reddit suggested that was the correct key to use. No difference. Still won't activate.
Nothing happens when i click submit nox key or activate

I have the same issue. I have made sure that the license type is Enterprise (the first tab on the Samsung site). The 'Submit Knox' key never grays out, and the 'Activation' takes almost a minute before it comes back as failed.
I have Adhell 1.7.3 installed but deactivated. Don't know if that matters.
Submitted and got 2 keys.. neither one of them works..

Working on figuring out the License activation fail everyone, the same version (same .apk file) was working just fine yesterday and testers had no issues. Seems like Samsung might have done something on their end. Give me a little bit to see what's going on.
Activated fine on my end.
Nice keeping an eye on this.

Ok everyone, it seems like Samsung is blocking my app specifically. When I change the package name (basically the internal app identifier) the license verification goes through just fine. I just tested on two devices and it worked just fine once I changed the package name, and if I change it back the verification breaks again. I'll see if I can find a permanent fix to stop them from blocking the app, but in the mean time I'll post up a new .apk with a changed package name. Keep in mind, Samsung seems to be monitoring this, and it will likely stop working again.
Sammy has people working hard on Sunday. Already none of my keys are working. SDK (either long or short) nor Enterprise are working.

Do you mean the original app from the play store? I do believe that is still working, if you find the apk online (it's posted everywhere), problem is it's reliant on some stuff from the original dev's servers, so when that goes down, anyone trying to install will have trouble. That's why I made this. But Samsung doesn't like me apparently.

It's actually starting to look silly how hard they are trying to stop people that don't care about their useless assistant that does only one thing - wastes resources and a potentially useful physical button. Button remappers first and now this.

You don't have to do anything special to get it working on T-Mobile, it'll automatically select the proper APN.
As for getting it set up for Google services:
Go to the VIVO App Market (no VIVO account needed for setting up GOOGLE) ,then type google and you will see:

Then click "下载" button on the first app ,then it will download and automatically install on your phone.
Then go to your phone's "file manager " and go to button and you will see this app:"Google Play1.apk",then click it to install.
And you will see this :

I've asked the same question elsewhere in the forum here,as to what specifically would be considered safe to delete, never got a response from the person who'd used ADB to disable/delete the VIVO Bloat.
There's this generic tutorial here:
https://www.xda-developers.com/uninstall-carrier-oem-bloatware-without-root-access/
As to what is safe,as a rule, it's about the same across the board from one mfg to the next, but,I don't have a VIVO-specific "safe list".

Thank you very much, I will go through it now and report back
EDIT: I didn't want to uninstall things that I felt were risky but everything I did "uninstall" using the guide was "safe"
I accidently closed console so I dont have a complete list of what I uninstalled (stupid mistake)
BUT it included:
vivo.com
vivo app store
vivo voice recorders
ALL Jovi applications and system apps (Jovi is unresponsive and does not open yay, but the screen shot Chinese store search still operates. I'm not sure what to uninstall to get rid of that)
all the vivo apps that were labeled only in Chinese and contained Chinese payment/social media applications that weren't system apps
imusic
imanager
browser
funtouch launcher
email
all applications that are replaceable by a working google version etc
There are system applications that I want to uninstall but they may play critical roles and I don't want to risk bricking the phone, basically I followed a rule that if it sounded like it did something important and/or was a system service DO NOT uninstall.
PS: These things worked for my phone and so far I haven't come across any issue. I do not take responsibility if the same does not work on your phone or something worse happens.

Press & hold until you see an "X" ,tap it & the offending widget should disappear.
To add a widget, swipe up from the bottom of the screen to bring up the quick settings, you should see a list of widgets available at the very bottom.
Scroll through until you see what you want,press/hold & drag to desktop.
JMHO,you'd be better off using Nova or virtually any 3rd party launcher other than stock,a lot more customization options & a helluva lot easier to navigate...

How has your vivo been working in T-Mobile? Is LTE available? Really want to buy this phone but internet speed is one of my concerns . Thanks.

Thanks koliosis, I think I'll get the 845 variant. I have the Mi mix 2S right now and it's great. I was holding out for the Mi mix 3 but this Nex phone looks amazing. I'm just not too familiar with data bands and thought the 3 out of 5 stars for 4g meant no LTE.

With my usage, I can verify the SD 845 Model gets T-Mobile US Bands 2/4/12. :good:

Short-lived,I sold mine & ordered the Oppo Find X.
If you're looking for aftermarket development, look elsewhere.
The weirdness of the Funtouch U/I can be overcome, all the info to do so is posted in the forum here.
One BTW that's not well-known:
No NFC on-board...............................
Thank You ,you've been very helpful, that oppo find x caught my eye as well.

I switch phones quite frequently, so, my short time with the phone isn't a true indicator of my experience with it.
Overall, it worked for me, the specs, display/audio/camera, IMHO, are top notch.
Lack of NFC is a non-factor for me, so, I'd rate it an 8 of 10,losing two points for the Funtouch U/I, however as I mentioned, if you wish, that can be customized to your liking, it will just take a bit more work to get it that way.

I like to tinker with phones so I might pull the trigger on it. Thanks again.

My NEX has been on TMobile's 4G LTE since I received my phone 2 weeks ago with no hiccups.
That's music to my ears , where did you get yours? I'm thinking eBay or AliExpress.
