So after some testing I can say that this is absolutely awesome! Everything works flawlessly on my u8800pro running ShenduOS 4.1.2! Thanks a lot I was looking for this for a long time because everywhere else links were down :good: Sorry for late reply I really didn't have the time.

I got it somewhere on net but "teamandroid" community has problems with download.... Versions of apps are same. I think that huawei didn't release any update for these apps.
Hi, first thank you for your work. Most people don't understand that you guys work for "free", other then donations. Secondly I am asking you directly because in working with this device I have gotten many different responses. Some have stated that roms written for the U8800-Pro will also work on the U8800-51 from Consumer Cellular. I haven't tried that because others have said installing your rom on my 51 would brick it. I have installed and am running Aurora ICS from this guide on XDA
From stock to ICS a guide for your U8800-51 or AT&T Impulse 4G
I don't want to do anything stupid so since this is your rom I was hoping you could give me a difinitive answer, can I use your ROM on the U8800-51? If not is there a ICS Rom you could recommend?

Huawei keyboard is one of the best I have ever seen!
It has one minus (when you type a web address, 'space' is replaced by '.com' by default - you need to press alt), but a huge plus (you can slide to obtain secondary characters instead of long-pressing).
File manager is balanced, not better or worse than others. It is very nicely integrated with the cloud.
Backup application is a good replacement for Titanium (backups data and applications)
I prefer the default 4.1.1 camera. Huawei application has some good points, but still I prefer the default from gapps. Also, please note that Hauwei Gallery does not sync with Picasa!
I don't recommend Huawei Weather, as it does not always work. on the screen in get a location not found.

Thanks for your opinion of this thread.
I think that you can try install ROMs for U8800 & U8800pro to your device. But if you like your current ROM so I recommended "don't try it". U8800-51 has different wi-fi and bt drivers so if you'll try install these ROMs your wi-fi and bt won't work. For recommending ROMs you must install all ROMs for your device because all users have diferents requirements.

I like stock camera app too. For weather: app is working but widget don't work. (widget works only on huawei stock ROMs).
This sounds interesting. I suppose this works with non-Huawei phones? As for the question about Gingerbread, I'm sure these work with a specific version of Android, or rather Huawei's version of Android, e.g. HTC Sense for HTC phones.
In any case, I am curious about the DLNA receiver (or maybe server?) and the keyboard. Had I found this earlier, I could have tested on a couple builds. Nandroid backup my AOKP ROM, then factory reset it, and flash this, test in a clean 4.1.2 ROM, then flash my CM7 Nandroid, factory reset that, flash this, test in a clean 2.3.7 ROM... Woulda been fun. Subscribed to this topic, I'll definitely do all that in a few days when I get a chance, and I will take screenshots if nobody's done it by then.

Aroma appears to have installed nothing. Wallpaper chooser can be installed as a normal app (AFAIK, all wallpaper choosers can... so collect them from ROMs you test, if you like the wallpapers they offer...), not sure about the others. I checked them all in Aroma and it (TWRP I guess) said the flash was successful. But nothing installed. I can push them manually and set permissions accordingly, though.
Camera can be installed as a normal app as well. It's very nice, but it does not support the ICS/JB swipe to preview/swipe back to take another. Also can't seem to record video. It says my internal memory is full (it's not) and that it will save to SD card (that's fine) but pictures take and videos don't record. The record icon doesn't change.
DLNA *seems* to work, but it times out when trying to connect. So does ES File Explorer. Fault: Most likely mine. I suck at networking. I tell Windows 7 to share my damn files and that should be that. Give "Everyone" read permission and no one "write" permission (because f*** you you can't edit my damn files son, but you can look at them). My brother got DLNA (via MotoBlur) to work with PS3 Media Server running in Windows. We use that to stream from PC to Xbox, guess we need it for Android as well (or we could learn networking and not be such chumps, but PS3MS is easy mode).
Not messing with File Manager or Cloud. I already have the best file manager (ES File Explorer, IMO it's the best) and I have a ton of clouds. It feels disingenuous to use Huawei's without buying a Huawei device. They can see you've never used a Huawei device and they can close your account. Whether they will or not is another matter. Dropbox will give you 2GB, Google Drive will give you 5GB, and so will a bunch of others, like Box, SugarSync, and Ubuntu One (the latter doesn't care if you use Ubuntu or not). Amazon also has a 5GB cloud, but no Android app (this is separate from Amazon MP3, which does have an app).
Anyway, thanks for sharing.

It is possible that this works only on Huawei phones. What phone do you have, what version, ROM, etc...

I get the same on mine. SE Xperia X10 on Gingerbread.
I think it's better to remove the SMS/call functionality from your application, because there are a lot of people(including me) not installing the application because of those permissions.
If you use this:

With this you don't need the permission to make calls, and the dialer will be started with the phone number pre-loaded, so the user only needs to press the Call button.
And for sending SMS messages you can use this guide, which also uses intents.
Then you don't need SMS/call permissions, but the user can still call/text when he needs in your application.
This is simply astonishing. Great work. Although I have an Evo 3D and won't be moving from it at any time soon, I know a few Hero owners who could do with this App to see what they should upgrade to.

Yes, the user will be able to see the advertisers number. But I think your sent SMS is in the SMS-app of the user, so he always will be able to see the advertisers number, although I'm not sure.
Can you post the apk?
It doesn't show up in the Market on my phone. I can click a link that will open it in the Market but it doesn't give me the option to download it. And when I try installing through the Market on a pc it says it's not compatible with my device.

So I was on my computer browsing the free apps on the Android Market and ran across one buried deep within called Crackle. It's description caught my attention "Watch full-length Hollywood movies & TV shows on your phone. Free and on demand. Watch FREE movies on your Android phone." So when I clicked on it to see what it was all about, of course it wouldn't let me download it because it's not compatible with my phone....but I seen it was compatible with the Arc so I said f*ck it and decided to give the apk a shot.
So glad I did! I am currently watching "Men In Black" on my X10i, for free, via Crackle!
When I first installed it and opened it up I tried to play a movie but it prompted me to get Adobe flash, which I already had installed, but I went ahead and did it anyway and when I got to the market (automatic redirect when I chose to follow the link via my browser) it prompted me to update my flash. I updated it and got back to Crackle and immediately got a FC. Not one to give up so easily, I opened Crackle again and this time was able to play my movie with no problem. I gotta say, picture quality isn't half as bad as I thought it would be. It's actually pretty damn good!
Installation:
1.) Download the APK and save it to your sdcard
2.) Using a file explorer (I used the one native in WB TW Xperia GB v3.x), find
the apk on your card and install it.
3.) Do not open the app yet! First make sure you have the latest version of
Adobe flash. Just because it says v10.3 doesn't mean it's the lastest version.
Go into the market and find the app, click on it, if it shows an option to
"update" then you need to do so. If not, proceed to the next step.
4.) Open the app and ENJOY THE HELL OUT OF IT!!!!!

Wow...i'm on v3.9 too and it installed fine for me, I've watched Pineapple Express and Men In Black already.
Were you guys having any other issues in v3.9 before this? Got any themes flashed?
installed fine here too, but first time i've opened it gave me a "can't reach servers, try again later" and started to FC afterwards. I suspect it works only in the US.
I am on WB V3.8 Rom . It give me FC to!! No theme install

WB 3.9 Worked flawless for me. Make sure you have the latest flash player installed before you open the app, as explained in the OP.

This is a port of tazzpatriot's iTazz ROM from the HTC Droid Eris found here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1230185

Installation instructions:
1) Download ROM below.
2) Nandroid (optional)
3) Wipe data, cache, boot and system. (Recommended)
4) Flash and reboot.
5) Select Market, sign in with your account, and select accept.
5) If your Market doesn't work, go to Settings, Applications, Manage Applications and wipe cache and data for Market.
6) Select Market and hit accept again and your Market should be working.

edit : boots up fine, wifi is working for me
edit 2: i know its 1st release so i didnt expect all translations to be done, but it is running on my hero, just very slow at this point, dunno if its just my phone or what, been up and running for about 15 minutes, still going slow. using default kernel. gonna try a clean install of recovery, massive wiping, see if that helps

texting works, im just not too smooth understanding the language, im a stoopid american. got a force close on the phone call test, will wipe all like 5 times each and re-install. i cant sleep anyways, so thanks again for giving me something productive to do. =)
edit : after wiping all 3 times each, phone seems to run a lot faster, this rom loads very quick, even on the 2.6.29 kernel. phone call test works as well, incoming & outgoing tested. no leds, as u stated, ill look around and see what i can do about that
Just make sure to wipe all 3 times before installing the rom.

No problem haha. I may get the help of my Chinese friend for translations if I can figure out how to translate. My call was fine, but I called my voicemail so idk for sure. This is a little slow I noticed, I'll play around with things and see how I can figure stuff out.

i called a home line, then called in from the same home line.
oh yeah, the led works when screen is off, not on
edit 2 : market seems messed up, tried on wifi and 3g, cant find apps, tried to load from android market website, says an app i always use isnt compatible with my phone? idk

mine will only allow me to search for books, anytime i search the market thats the only results i get. when i check top free or top paid apps, it only is showing me 2 of them, and they are actually games? lolidkwtfimdoing

well i am trying to load it all over again, i wiped it raw this time, painful burning wipes now, lol. hopefully this will get it working, my market was all types of f'd up
nope, still aint working 4 me. even after all the wipes and all, the market will only show me book section. the apps and games sections show absolutely nothing now. idk, i think maybe being that i havent slept in like 4 or 5 days im messing up somewhere. ok, now im not on crack or nothing, but i did a battery pull, and pressed the power button, it loaded immediately. i completely pulled the battery, too. now i got a triangle icon next to the battery???

1st time, went into cwm 2.5.0.7 and went into mounts and formatted system, data, cache, boot 3 times each and then went and wiped dalvik 2 times, rebooted recovery, flashed rom. market would show 2 results under apps, both were games
2nd time, used calkulins format all zip 5 times, wiped dalvik 3 times, rebooted recovery, flashed rom. market will only show book results, apps and games is completely blank.
should i flash gapps or no? i didnt think it was necessary since market was already on the phone
also, not using FR or any scripts
Are you signing in with your Google account? You have to select the Talk app and then add your account. I'll add that to instructions tomorrow.

Thought I would make a thread to discuss things about the Official Beta programme and builds so that we have a place to compare notes, bugs etc.
Remember if you do find any bugs, please also report them within the beta app on the phone otherwise they might never be fixed!
Was thinking to make the same thread! Just a clean thread about the Official beta. Hope soon someone will post pictures/videos with it. I was kinda scared to join the beta due to lack of SD card and a little knowledge about manual flashing if something gets wrong.
I have some questions for people who will try the official beta:
1. Does Notes app sync now with Google account.
2. Please post some screenshots on the emojis/keyboard with official Huawei Keyboard and do you see some big changes there.
3. New camera mods? Improvements when shooting video?
4. Some new Stock apps from Huawei (like finally Reminder app...)?
5. Battery time (of course after couple day of use).
6. Can you finally turn off the Haptic Feedback? It's so annoying right now. I don't understand why they removed to option to turn it off at all.
7. Some new themes in the store?
8. Can we add now notification badge to all apps?

I just got it in Bulgaria after applying in the local test. Will share more info later
FYI - I decided to do a full test of this firmware and factory reset - everything seems fine except the beta app is no longer accessible. It is installed, but just has no way to launch it - which means you cannot install the apk manually as it already exists.

I know about this. My problem is, when I pick up a call my phone vibrates, when I like a Photo with Pop up windows on Instagram, phone vibrates.. and in some other occasion...

i've noticed this as well, hopefully we get another build that fixes that and the flip case steps counter issue as well. bit annoying as we have no way of reporting to Huawei easily to tell them about the bug.

ok cool, let me know if you solve it. and yeah without root will be difficult, maybe hi-suite will show the app and let you uninstall?
I Just got mine today. This beta doesnt look like a beta . Everything I´ve checked so far works.
It´s really responsive.

nice idea, but not so simple, we don't have huawei's key to sign it with so the phone would reject it.

True, but you can self-resign? It won't install as system-level app, but may get you access to the bug reporter etc

Nice. But still using they ugly bobs layout for emojis.. Was hoping for Samsung style.. But it is what it is.

Guys i did a full wipe after installing this beta, and now huawei beta club app is not working... I cannot install it, or restore from backup. It says that it is already installed, but it is not(or i cannot find it)
Any advices?

if you read the other posts in this thread you wouldn't have asked the question - this has already been reported and @Lennyuk is trying to find a solution. He has also stated that full wipes don't work to bring it back either and i have already stated that you can't install the app. this app is already installed but it does not show up to the user and without root there isn't anything we can do

2. The keyboard is Swype (again) with its own emojis
3. One new plug-in that can be installed - Good food for food pictures. So far this looks like Samsung way to extend the camera
4. There is a new HiGame app for downloading games (looks useless)
7. There are number of themes but i don't use them so cannot comment are they more than before or not
8. Right now this option is available only for Settings, Email and Themes

So been a while since i had a foreign phone(xiaomi) my nex s is arriving thur from AliExpress what are the first things i need to do to get it up and running on T-Mobile US? Its supposed to come preinstalled with google play but keep hearing i need a vivo account (with chinese #, ) to get apps running. Someone help a somewhat noob, thanks in advance.

You don't have to do anything special to get it working on T-Mobile, it'll automatically select the proper APN.
As for getting it set up for Google services:
Go to the VIVO App Market (no VIVO account needed for setting up GOOGLE) ,then type google and you will see:

I've asked the same question elsewhere in the forum here,as to what specifically would be considered safe to delete,never got a response from the person who'd used ADB to disable/delete the VIVO Bloat.

Thank you very much, I will go through it now and report back
EDIT: I didn't want to uninstall things that I felt were risky but everything I did "uninstall" using the guide was "safe"
I accidently closed console so I dont have a complete list of what I uninstalled (stupid mistake)
BUT it included:
vivo.com
vivo app store
vivo voice recorders
ALL Jovi applications and system apps (Jovi is unresponsive and does not open yay, but the screen shot Chinese store search still operates. I'm not sure what to uninstall to get rid of that)
all the vivo apps that were labeled only in Chinese and contained Chinese payment/social media applications that weren't system apps
imusic
imanager
browser
funtouch launcher
email
all applications that are replaceable by a working google version etc
There are system applications that I want to uninstall but they may play critical roles and I don't want to risk bricking the phone, basically I followed a rule that if it sounded like it did something important and/or was a system service DO NOT uninstall.
PS: These things worked for my phone and so far I haven't come across any issue. I do not take responsibility if the same does not work on your phone or something worse happens.

Press & hold until you see an "X" ,tap it & the offending widget should disappear.
To add a widget,swipe up from the bottom of the screen to bring up the quick settings,you should see a list of widgets available at the very bottom.
Scroll through until you see what you want,press/hold & drag to desktop.
JMHO,you'd be better off using Nova or virtually any 3rd party launcher other than stock,a lot more customization options & a helluva lot easier to navigate...

For add a widget Press & hold the middle of the screen and you will see them at the bottom.
How has your vivo been working in T-Mobile? Is LTE available? Really want to buy this phone but internet speed is one of my concerns . Thanks.

Thanks koliosis, I think I'll get the 845 variant. I have the Mi mix 2S right now and it's great. I was holding out for the Mi mix 3 but this Nex phone looks amazing. I'm just not too familiar with data bands and thought the 3 out of 5 stars for 4g meant no LTE.

Short-lived,I sold mine & ordered the Oppo Find X.
If you're looking for aftermarket development,look elsewhere.
The weirdness of the Funtouch U/I can be overcome,all the info to do so is posted in the forum here.
One BTW that's not well-known:
No NFC on-board...............................

I switch phones quite frequently, so, my short time with the phone isn't a true indicator of my experience with it.
Overall, it worked for me, the specs, display/audio/camera, IMHO, are top notch.
Lack of NFC is a non-factor for me, so, I'd rate it an 8 of 10,losing two points for the Funtouch U/I, however as I mentioned, if you wish, that can be customized to your liking, it will just take a bit more work to get it that way.

My NEX has been on TMobile's 4G LTE since I received my phone 2 weeks ago with no hiccups.
That's music to my ears , where did you get yours? I'm thinking eBay or AliExpress.
