Download same firmware with the OS version you want and make a clean flash. All data is going to be erased so prepare a backup first.

I mean without loosing data, how can I downgrade

I don't think there is any possible way, rather than taking back up of important data that is recoverable/movable/transferrable.

Oreo root for noobs?

If this is already posted I apologise. I have been having bugs with apps and functions of Oreo on my g5 so I was trying to root it to see if that could fix the different issues I was having. None that were a deal killer just annoying. But I was wonder if there was a root guide for noobs for 8.0? Thank you in advanced.

After 30c (zip) upgrade you need flash magisk and delete "/system/recovery-from-boot.p".
Then reboot into the system.
Follow this guide:
https://forum.xda-developers.com/tmobile-lg-g5/development/root-h830-running-30a-nougat-t3524322
Once you were able to downgrade and get into TWRP, flash this Oreo build but DO NOT LEAVE TWRP:
http://downloads.codefi.re/autoprim...G-H83030c.ARB01.TMO.US.COMPLETE.FLASHABLE.zip
Rebooting after your flashed your Oreo ROM before you flash your root will result in losing TWRP.
After you flashed that, hopefully your still in TWRP, flash Masgisk. This is your Root.

I recommend picking up a Stable version.
I was a noob when I did this, it’s ok. Unfortunately I no longer owned the phone. Somebody stepped on it. I tried to write this as accurately as possible.

Answering my own question after research:
-20a is Nougat Android 7, H83020a. This is the only version that you can install TWRP on. Downgrading is possible.
-30c is Oreo Android 8, H83030c

OOS 10.3.1

Can anyone confirm if TWRP 3.3.1-x blu_spark v9.108 works with the latest 10.3.1 release? Do I need to even update TWRP or can I stay on the current version?
I am currently on v9.107 with 10.0.1 and I want to update without losing root or data.

What process did you use to update without losing root and data and did you go from 10.0.1 to 10.3.1?

removing twrp through system update is it possible?

I unlocked my bootloader installed twrp and magisk, and i did not like it so I uninstalled magisk wiped and now I would like to remove twrp. is it possible that if and when android 11 is released it will remove twrp and relock the bootloader? Im on the T-mobile version.
Yes, flashing your current OOS full OTA zip via system update on your phone will remove it.
Flashing 11 when it comes out will do the same.

H2OS

Hello guys , I have global 8t with the latest oos11 , is it possible to flash h2os on it ?
Anyone ?
I think you should of be able to just flash a full hydrogen ota zip over your global one, As long as h2os is a newer version Than your current oos version.
You might be required to wipe data after conversion though, not sure about that

On my 7pro I used to flash h2os through local update without wiping my phone but I don't know if it will work on my 8t
Just take a backup and try it. I am 99% sure it can work.

"Take a backup": how would you do this given that there's no TWRP for this device?

If you know there is a way to flash the OTA and keep twrp+root and that you don't need Magisk, why are you asking for help here?
P.S.: Want to point us to your source of information? I'm sure just about everybody in this forum would be excited to know how.

Flash the ota and then boot to fastboot. And flash this boot image.
fastboot flash boot boot-v9-root24.img
Also can do it in recovery or partition manager off play store. Here's a copy of the app to.
The img works on OS 11s and 12s. I dual boot so it's a orangefox twrp with a magisk 24.x. and probably not the original kernel because OS 12 and some rom11s don't work well with stock kernels. Anyways hope this helps
