Weird storage (limitation / bug) after flashing custom rom - Xiaomi Poco X3 NFC Questions & Answers

I just flashed ArrowOS and afterwards Pixel Experience Plus only to realize that both of them give me a system storage of around 15gb. Which leaves me with only 45gb... TWRP also says that the internal storage is no more than 45gb. I'm pretty sure it's not the ROMs fault but I don't know what else to do.
( PixelOS was also previously installed on it. )
Every answer and help is appreciated!
I have the 64gb Poco X3 NFC.

Q: Oxygen OS and encryption

I would like to ask regarding oxygen and encryption. My device is running oxygen and it is encrypted. Can i actually change my ROM to other such as cm, PA or resurrection remix without have to full wipe my disk?Including the media like photos and songs stored in the device.
I basically know how to flash other ROM, it should be clean installed but now I got confused because my device is encrypted. Pls let me know or just what is your thoughts in this...
I would strongly recommend to not only make a nandroid before switching roms on encrypted devices, but also copy everything on your internal storage (internal sdcard) to a seperate device (computer). Switching roms on encrypted devices is unpredictable. If the rom that you are upgrading to handles the device encryption differently, your internal storage may get corrupted. I even encountered this while switching from one cm12.1 rom to another (you can read an example here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=61194295&postcount=266

Read only problem with 6GB 128GB Variant

Hello,
Am running into a read only bug with my phone. It seems fine with standard MIUI as operating system without any modifications. Once I put on TWRP as recovery and root the filesystem becomes unreadable. The SD card itself was still working though on miui only. Upon using Havok or crDroid as rom the filesystem & sdcard are not readable. I've tried flashing without the SD card in the device and same thing. Just now I tried to format the SD card within crDroid and it made the card unreadable with 0 space.. even worse. Now I have to reformat it on a windows pc. So far.. this phone is a almost complete wash with this bug occurring.. i'm seeing only way to use it is through MIUI with card. Custom roms are just a complete no go with this happening. Can someone PLEASE help?
nevermind.. i figured it out by formatting the internal data within twrp. Everything is great now.. just need to get a camera app or port of the xiaomi camera.

My man, you solve your own problem, how about that, next time take time to read carefully the flashing details.

You don't need to be rude about it.
Neither of the twrp ports or the general flashing guide for the RN7P mention formatting the internal storage in their instructions.
Only wiping the cache, data, and sometimes system, which doesn't fix the problem at all.
I ran into this exact same problem and was stumped for 2 days because there was no information on this read only error in these forums, and I had some bad luck googling for help.
In fact, the only way I solved the issue is when Timmons saw my post in the crDroid thread and told me his solution.
Not everyone already has a deep understanding of twrp and flashing roms, and you can't expect people to know everything when stuff like this isn't mentioned at all.

Storage used after flashing on violet

I have Pixel Experience[9.0] on my Redmi Note 7 pro currently,it runs perfectly, but this one issue I observed is occuring across many roms and that is the system uses 10/10+GB of internal storage after I flashed any custom ROM even lineage and Resurrection Remix and now Havoc too!!!......I tried to find if any log files resided in root directory>data/log using root but there's nothing and still it shows 18% storage used!!!!!.....why?
My phone has 64GB internal storage
Can anyone help me fix this....Please

Question Poco x3 pro after update to miui 13 (android 12)

Hello! I have this problem after updating to miui 13. Orange fox recovery started bugging. when I want to enter the sd card, there is nothing empty there. Even all root folders became empty, I tried flashing recovery but nothing worked. I think there are people among you who have experienced these.

Custom recoveries (TWRP, OrangeFox) cannot decrypt Android 12 internal storage at the mean time.
You will need MicroSD card or USB OTG.

Question TWRP Unable to mount /data/media/TWRP/.twrps + 0 Mb storage

I have ArrowOS 12 installed, with 11 the updates went well but now if I try to update i get the messages in the title. I tried to repair the filesystem, changed it from ext4 to ext2 and ext4 back again, wipe basically everything, can't restore anything, really have no idea of what I should do more.
TWRP is on 3.5.2_11.0, I have no personal files on the phone so anything is ok.

All custom recoveries (TWRP, OrangeFox) cannot decrypt Android 12 data in the meantime, so you will not see any internal storage and cannot mount.
If you want your data, you can try ArrowOS 11, restore data into ArrowOS 11, make sure data works in ArrowOS 11 system boot, then flash ArrowOS 12 without format data.
Some said you can do that, but there's chance it will fail, but since your phone has no personal files, you can try.
There is update of TWRP 3.6.0_11.0

Thanks man, does this mean there is no effective way to update the OS on android 12 in any way, no custom roms at least? In that case I'm very confused as to why the update button even is there

Custom recoveries cannot decrypt internal storage, but can read microSD cards and USB OTG. Remember Poco X3 Pro has microSD slot.
You can also use ADB sideload command in custom recoveries to flash zip files, so ROM updates can be installed this way.
Almost all function of custom recoveries are working, except decrypting internal storage.
