Hi
I have an Android box running 4.2.2 ICS
Just wondered, I would like to be able to remotely wake it from a sleep state with a PC (similar to a PC wake on lan command) - had a search but cant find anything, is there such a thing available?
Also, it has an ethernet port that I would like to use to connect to the outside world via a proxy but there are no proxy settings for the ethernet. Setting the proxy in the WiFi dosnt work for ethernet and the apps I've tried (proxy droid etc) only work with WiFi connections too. Anyone found a solution to this please?
Any help gratefully received
Cheers
Hello!
I just wanted to know if there's any way to connect to ad hoc wi-fi networks (created on a computer running Linux, Windows or Mac Os X) from a rooted Moto G.
I know that most Android devices have this feature disabled by default (they don't even show the SSID in the network manager list). I've founded some workarounds for other devices that I still didn't try on the Moto G. They modify some code on the Android system (or use an specific app that does the same changes) or suggest the use of Custom Roms.
Does anybody know if there's any chance to do it without using Connectify or other similar apps? Is there a Rom for the Moto G with this feature enabled?
Thanks!
I've been trying for the last week or so to implement USB-to-Ethernet on my tablet. I've installed the correct asix driver and I am able to give it an IP, but I am not sure how to test the connection on the tablet since I can't do anything with WiFi turned off.
Should the Ethernet option in Settings -> Wireless and networks -> More settings be automatically enabled once it detects an Ethernet connection? Do I need a patch or did I miss a step?
I would like to use my phone (Moto Z2 Play, running Android 7.1.1) as a hotspot for my Kindle 8th Generation, which has WiFi but not cellular access. I can connect the Kindle to my home WiFi, and I have successfully used the phone as a hotspot with a WiFi-only Android tablet. I have added the Kindle's MAC address as an authorized device for the hotspot. However, if I try to connect the Kindle to the phone hotspot, the MAC address is listed for about 20 seconds as a connected device, with an IP address of 0.0.0.0, then the Kindle times out and drops the connection attempt.
I suspect the DHCP server handshake isn't working correctly, due to differences in how DHCP was implemented. Both devices work separately, but not together. Does anyone know a work-around?

Hi Guys!!
I have a pihole on my network filtering ads and so on, but it seems my phone somehow connects with IPV6 and ads are not filtered.
How can I disable Ipv6 on Wifi only?
I'm on Arrow ROM now, without root, but I can activate it if needed.
