Question Do you use screen sensitive increase with glass protector? - Google Pixel 7 Pro

Hi,
Do you use screen sensitive increase with glass protector like whitestone dome on Pixel 7Pro?

yes, but is not sensitive enough at outside with cold weather I need to press harder to recognize touch

Nope, I use Whitestone Dome and I have Screen Protector Mode turned off. Works flawlessly with it off

I use a Whitestone Dome and have sensitivity turned off. It works fine without it.

I have a Whitestone dome tempered glass screen installed and have sensitivity turn off. No issues at all with touch or finger print scanner

I have the dome protector and I see no difference with sensitivity on or off.

I use no screen protector and I still use it, because otherwise fingerprint only works like 70% of the time, with it on since latest update it is around 90% (before it was more like 50%)

I use it especially when I wear gloves and stuff for work plus I got the screen protector so it works much better when it's enabled.

I don't the purpose of even having this option as a toggle. It should just be on by default with or without a screen protector. What harm would there be if it was a standard feature.

Too sensitive screen would be annoying i guess ? I do have it on along with a Hydrogel kind of protector. And work just fine, even with gloves in snowy condition

On by default without a screen protector can lead to ghost touches

I keep reading about people having gloves on and being able to unlock their phones using the fingerprint sensor????? WHAT????
Unless I am missing something here can someone explain to me how a FP reader can read your fingerprint THROUGH a pair of gloves??? If it unlocks while you're wearing gloves then we might as well turn off all locking security altogether!
Now if we're talking about manipulating the screen AFTER it's unlocked while wearing gloves then I guess that makes sense. But even then, if the phone can be used while wearing gloves then why doesn't a stylus work??

Tempered Glass Screen Protection - is the home button recessed by much?

Hi.
I just ordered an "Tempered Glass Screen Protection" for my 10.5", my first glass screen protector, I had a look on you-tube for installation video`s most are really bad, no sign of the hinge method that i am going to use.
Anyway i watched a video of and Tempered Glass Screen Protector being installed on an ipad, and they fitted an home button height increaser, it this really necessary, the glass protector i ordered is 0.3mm thick, does anybody have any experience of this?
Also the fingerprint sensor might cause problems if something were to cover it anyway.
Thanks
John.
I purchased the Skinomi version and don't have any problems using the fingerprint sensor on my device. I will be honest though and let you know that I did not install it. I took it to a nearby shop and they installed it for me.
I only paid a £5 for my off-brand version, not the £18+ that Skinomi ones go for.
So the thickness does not cause any problems with the home button, good to know.
Thanks.
John.

Yup so far so good for me
I suppose a slightly recessed home button could be a good thing for people who dont have a case and leave the tablet with the display facing down to reduce chance of the display being damaged, a slightly recessed home button reduces the change of it press accidentally, so your tablet will stays in deep sleep mode, and not keep waking up.

I got my screen protector this morning, I installed it in a steamy bathroom, and use the included wet and dry cloths, and used the hinge method to install it, but i was left with 2 big bubbles with a piece of dirt in the center of each one, so i tried to lift the edge and remove the dirt with an piece of sticky tape, but the screen protector split all the way to the center.
I have contacted the seller and explained as i have to you, and he says he thinks the problem is an manufacturing defect, and is going to send me another one.
John
i find the included alcohol swab attracts dust particles, so I wipe the screen with a wet paper towel after I use the alcohol swab.
putting screen protectors on in the cold works a treat as there isn't loads of dust floating around. I put my last one on in the car with the air con on
Have one for my S5 and will buy one for the tab s soon.
Love, fingerprint sensor still works fine @ .33mm thick protector

Naked Screen or Screen Protector

With the lack of TGSP that fit properly or don't cut off the screen, my question is how many of you are rocking the screen naked?
For those of you who have, how has the screen held up? Any scratches or issues?

At the moment, no phone screen will stay 100% smooth and it will always has scratches all over the screen (at least the ones that are only visible on certain lighting condition) even when you're taking good care at it. I've been using phones without screen protector/cases for years and the only problem really is when the oleophobic coating wear off.

From my understanding, it is only scratched when something with a higher hardness rating scratches it. If you're careful with your phone, in theory it shouldn't have scratches right?
And normally how long do you feel that the oleophobic coating lasts?

Yes that is true and it includes those tiny sands that are present everywhere and even comes with the winds. No smartphone will be scratchless on screen for a day without screen protector when you're using it normally. You just don't see it. If you do not want scratches on your phone screen, use a protector because it will always scratch unless you keep it in a sealed box.
I ordered the IQ shield wet application screen protector. Used it on my s9 plus and pixel 2 xl and it looks and feels great
I have been using the following product for the last 3 phones with success. For everyday use, I have not noticed any scratches on my family's phones such S8+, S9, and OP6. I have no clue how this liquid stuff bond with the glass but it's more than placebo. There have been times when I forgot about change in my pocket or keys in the same pocket as phone-Did not get any scratches on the phone. Although, the product claims to bond with glass for a long time, in my experience, you need another coat every 6-8 months.

I used the pre-applied screen protector out of the box for about 2 weeks and I found it pretty good especially because it fitted just perfectly on the screen. But I removed it since I don't like screen protectors that much.
Just got OP6 two days ago. I usually go naked and never a scratch, but this weekend i'm going on a bit of an adventure on the sea, after that protector is going right off.

Pixel 2 xl still holding up well after 5 months, s8 plus peeled out a little from the top left after an year, but I am a using a tight case on that one.
I love the super easy installation and no hassle of dealing with bubbles after it dries out completely. My friends think that I don't use a screen protector, it looks and feels like there is nothing on the screen.

Do Tempered glass screens work with the S-pen

Hey everyone
I have just bought a Samsung Note 9 and awaiting it to be delivered to me.
I always use tempered glass screen protectors but I am worried about using the S-pen with the protectors.
Does anyone know if you can use a tempered glass screen protector with the S-pen effectively.

I have the white stone dome protector and it works flawlessly with the S pen You don't even need to turn up the screen sensitivity
I wondered about liquid screen protection and I am watching one on EBay but I was wondering if normal versions work as well....i don't want to fork out all that extra if normal tempered glass works just as good as well.
I purchased the MP-MALL tempered protector and have not issues with the S-PEN. Looks good and hopefully will protect well. It is on amazon for about $12
Go with WhiteStone Dome they are tried and true. The best tempered glass I have ever used and it worked with the S-Pen and alot of cases I have tried.
Zagg one seems to work fine, imo it registers the pen better than finger keyboard stroke.
I bought a few different brands on Amazon. They all showed up in the same brown box with different labels printed out, they are fairly sharp at the top and bottoms. T-mobile has a glass cover that os actually tapered and smooth. They all work amazingly well with the pen. Although sensitivity does need to be turned up for finger use. I downloaded a multi Touch test app to confirm

The only down side is that they are over priced and they do crack easily as reported by many.
The Mocolo is half the money and is made with 9H hardness which the White Stone isn’t. The Moloco is as good or better as the whitestone, as responsive and as easy to apply.

I'm not worried about a $40 screen protector when I just paid $1,300 for the phone. I've had the screen protector on multiple phones now and I have not cracked or had any issues with any of them. Unless you're a complete klutz and you drop your phone multiple times a day you won't have any cracking issues.
i bought glass protector from aliexpress similar to whitestone dome but a lot cheaper one piece cost around 5$ only
'
first one was not perfect good thing i bought 2 extra
second piece i installed it and it fit perfectly on the screen only thing i installed a bit lower than it should be
so it almost touch the case from the lower side but there is a big gap on the upper side
i got a bubble on the lower side from testing several case because as i said it installed lower than it should be.
the spen and finger worked perfectly with it and alot better than the regular glass with matrix dots the stick from the sides only and i did not turn on screen sensitivity on both protectors
I had the ghetto whitestone setup on my Note 8 (LOCA glued a regular tempered glass screen) and now the whitestone on my Note 9. No issues at all and no changing of screen sensitivity.

I await your future posts about glue making a mess and bubbled lifting corners. Just get a wet applied plastic film , not perfect but definitely less hassle and no issues with sensitivity, I don't even have that extra sensitivity option turned on my device.

This is my experience, as well.
They should work perfectly fine as S-Pen functions using electro-magnetism. Via the electro-magnetic Wacoom digitizer underneath the display.

Tempered glass screen protector for galaxy S10

Are you gong to buy a Tempered glass screen protector for your S10? First screen protector that comes into mind is the Whitestone Dome but this one is going to be very expansive. What screen protector are you going to use?
If you really want a great protector that's the one I would buy...I think you get two in package... I'm planning on not installing one of the phone comes with pre installed one ...if. I do get one it will be White Dome

My tip is to hold off on getting tempered glass protector first because of how it might affect the ultra sonic fp sensor

Lol, the pre-installed screen protectors that you are talking about is a joke. These cheap ones get scratched up in no time. Tempered Glasses don't work with the Ultrasonic Fingerprint scanner on the S10 phones. The ones that work (white stone) are not available until 3/22 and don't ship outside US.
I got this Gadgetshieldz one as these kind of self healing TPU screen protectors are the ones that are compatible with the S10 series phones currently. Like the Zagg invisible shield. MKBHD even did a test on these. And for the 10$, I am getting a screen protector, a protector for the back, sides and camera lens. Might change these once something reasonable is available.

Whitestone has been proven to work with the security on the phone. Pricey. 50 bucks but you get 2 glass shields in case you do break one
I HIGHLY recommend the Whitestone protectors. The adhesive makes them SUBSTANTIALLY more chip/crack resistant and the touch sensitivity is light years ahead of other protectors (like ZAGG). It was my go-to on Note and now S10+.
I am a minimalist and finally found a case that's thin but also adds SOME protection. TORRAS on Amazon. The hard plastic has a matte finish, amazing touch and feel but little protection. The silicone option is thin, has ridges to protect camera and screen but slides in pants and pockets easily. It DOES offer drop protection relatively.
hey guys came across this,
cheap alternative to whitestone.
I think its only for aus. not sure.

Whitestone dome glass protector disables my finger print sensor effectively. My hit rates are less than 50% on the scanner. I've tried everything to get this to work such as re-registering prints, enable touch sensitivity, updating software. My install was perfect since I've had experience with this product before. I really wanted this to work, further their customer support is impossible to get ahold of.
I have 1 Whitestone TGSP but I'm not installing it until I get the two pack. I have never installed this before so I want the extra ones to use in case I goof the first install, and then (hopefully) have a spare if I crack the 2nd one.

Actually it doesn't! Numurous vids on ytube show it. If your concerened, de register your fingerprint, install Whitestone and them re-register your prints. If you follow some of the comments here. People are using it., when you get into the system. delete the current prints and redo them
Edit: on a side note. I actually redid my fingerprints today because now I am getting familiar with the phone and how im holding it. Once I did that, now it unlocks wayyy better. Those are YouTube videos that show it works on a single unlock. I'm not disputing that it never works, it just doesn't work adequately enough. A youtuber showing a single unlock does not mean it works. When compared to a physical sensor on prior galaxy devices the success rate is likely almost 100%. The whitedome stone glass makes it incredibly harder to get an unlock on the s10 (less than 50% success for me). See the amazon reviews, there are numerous reviews claiming issues with this glass protector. Further you can find additional evidence of the issues on subreddit for galaxys10.
I understand that some may not be installing this correctly, but I know i have since I've done this numerous times. As stated above, i've re-registered finger prints, updated software and enabled touch sensitivity. I don't think this is a dud either since there are numerous reports of it not working properly.

Believe me when I say that I really wanted this to work because I love glass protectors. But it just simply didn't after everything I've tried.
Not sure I understand the light sensitivity you are referring to but this is an ultra sonic finger print reader which basically uses sound waves that bounce off your finger to map your prints. I think the issue is that these sound waves are having issues propagating through the glass protectors/loca glue, although they seem to have no issue going through the gorilla glass.

Screen protector that works with fingerprint sensor?

Bought a set of ESR brand on Amazon that I have used on other phones with good results... Fit great and work well, except that they are tempered glass and they block the fingerprint scanner, it being sonic rather than optical.
What are people using with this phone?
Hope you are enjoying your phone as much as I am! I just did a review of the Phantomskinz shield. The S pen and the fingerprint sensor works flawlessly with this skin. Good luck!

Does it work? The ones that I bought made the same claim, but they didnt work with the scanner.
Now it turns out I have to get my phone replaced. Set my phone down, in its case, on my hot tub. Didn't drop it or toss it, but laid it down, and apparently the stacked stone that surrounds the hot tub... the back laid down on the point of a small pebble and cracked the glass that covers the camera array. Couldn't believe how easily it cracked... had to put in an insurance claim and pay the $250 deductible and ordered up several tempered glass protectors for the camera area...
GESMA for Samsung Galaxy Note 20 Screen Protector and Camera Protector
I've found the GESMA for Samsung Galaxy Note 20 Screen Protector and Camera Protector to handle fingerprint detection very well. The only difference from naked is that I have to apply just a touch more pressure on the screen to get an accurate read. It comes with 3 screen protectors and two camera protectors. All 0.15mm tempered glass and $14 on Amazon.
None of the ones I have tried work, they all suck. The one that I tried that the finger would scan through was not glass, and it made the screen blurry.
Olixar sucks... It wouldn't read the finger despite having the dedicated spot for it, and also, you can SEE the part designated for the fingerprint scanner... It doesn't cover completely transparent in that circle and you can visually see it when looking at the screen. Looks horrible... threw it in the trash...
Tried 4 brands now, and none of them work right, or look good... just gonna have to leave it uncovered and use the tempered glass ones on the fragile camera array...
Mobileoutfitter Matte Skin
I use the mobile outfitter Matte Skin on my Note 20 Ultra and its an awesome experience.
1. Its almost like paper like when you write with the S-Pen good texture feel to the writing experience
2. Fingerprint works well no misfit on it.

I gave up. After wasting $100 on 4 or 5 different brand screen protectors... None of them worked... The TPU one would register the finger, but the pen would leave marks on it... That was a Spigen made one...
The tempered glass ones, none of them worked with the fingerprint scanner, which I could have simply disabled and used a pattern or face unlock, but they had ab awful circle on them where the scanner goes that you can clearly see when looking at the screen... Horrible design.
Wish Samsung would just put the scanner on the back like the Pixel does...

So sorry to hear that. Did you buy the UV or? Cause really the UV tempered glass is super easy to install and it works well on mine.
For the design wise, it's a matter of preference. I don't mind the circular face unlock.
