Disable encryption in MIUI 11? - General Questions and Answers

Hi there,
How to remove encryption in MIUI 11?
I tried the following methods.
1. "Settings -> Passwords & security -> Privacy -> Encryption & credentials" -- it shows "Encrypted", though I never chose it.

}
"Clear credentials" did not help.

2. I tried, in Magisk, when choosing "boot.img" to patch", by unchecking "Preserve force encryption"
Spoiler: Screenshot 3
After rooting, the issue prevailed.
3. I booted into Orangefox recovery, formatted the data (yes), and clean-flashed the stock rom (MIUI 11).
Before and after clean-flashing, I checked two boxes below in Orangefox
- "Disable forced encryption"
- Disable DM-Verity.
Spoiler: Orangefox Settings
4. In fastboot mode, I flashed a Magisk-patched boot.img (that had been patched, before flashing the full stock rom, in a previously installed same stock rom).
All the above steps were performed before booting into MIUI 11.
5. After booting into system,
adb shell recovery --wipe_data --set_filesystem_encryption=off did not succeed in turning off encryption, either. (Source: Removing encryption from recovery. Stackexchange).
By the end, the data partition remained encrypted.
Thanks in advance for your advice.
May you need any further information, please do not hesitate to contact me.
Regards,
Wy

I think you need to first flash the rom then the disable force excryption to make it work

fstab is in /vendor/etc (not boot)

"Unfortunately, MusicFX has stopped." after uninstalling Viper4android drivers
So, I looked how to install Viper4android on android 5.0 and i found this on a XDA thread
"Tested and working perfectly on Nexus 5 Lollipop built number LRX21O.
1. Root using CF-Autoroot.
2. Change to permissive mode using SELinux Mode Changer.
3. Enable developer options -> Uncheck Use NuPlayer (experimental).
4. Flash the zip below from recovery and wait for cache to be rebuilt.
5. BOOM! Enjoy your music flawlessly."
after installing the drivers i uninstalled it because it didnt worked (in the driver status it said its disabled but viper4android was enabled)
now im on google music player settings and when i go to equalizer it says:

And because it was a flashing file "viper_v2.3.3.0_lollipop.zip " I cant uninstall the app now, I can only disable it.
Please help, I dont wanna flash a new system because of this.
Just dirty flash your ROM.zip, if you're on stock then dirty flash a pre-rooted stock ROM zip in the Development section.

Pixel 3 - Magisk keeps failing to detect it's self

Let me clarify -
Sometimes, seemingly randomly the Magisk manager app reports that Magisk is not installed, While all of my root apps still function fine. But, annoyingly, any apps that detect root.. can now detect root, because magisk hide is not working either. but then if i kill the app and relaunch it sometimes it will report that magisk is installed, sometimes it takes a reboot to get it to detect, sometimes i just plum can't get it to detect no matter what i do. It's like my system and magisk are fighting each other for control of root. I've tried searching for someone else who's experienced this, but to no avail. is there anything anyone can recommend to try?

Have you tried reflashing factory boot image and doing twrp and magisk from scratch?
Indeed I have.
When did this start happening? After a recent update? Is this your first time rooting the device? More info on your setup would be helpful.
Some steps to try:
Temp boot to TWRP image
Flash latest Canary Magisk Uninstaller
Reboot to System
Temp boot back to TWRP img
Flash latest Canary Magisk Installer
Reboot to System
Install latest Canary Magisk Manager (if not there after Installer flash)?
See if that solves the issue?
I have used this process during my factory updates and it's worked fairly well thus far. I have no kernels installed nor do i have TWRP installed.

Can't boot system and/or TWRP running on SM-A12F

I decided to root my phone with running latest version of SM-A12F, but ended of the following:
System: One UI 3.1
Currently Running about
Android Security Patch Level: October 1, 2021
Additional: Unlocked OEM Unlock(Grayed Out), Device Unlocked
Attempt 1. After flashing twrp(many times, but different who bulid twrp), can't boot system. So i decided to flash stock recovery and goes running normal.
Attempt 1b: I flashed multidisabler with twrp but can't boot system and restart freqnently.
Attempt 2: After flashing twrp and vbmeta, booting to TWRP successfully but can't boot System.
Attempt 3: The basic solution about rooting with magisk was successfully but after an hour Google Services got often stopped and Google Apps too. I decided to restart and got warning message about "Security Error: only official BOOT to solve the solution", so i decided to roll back to reflash a new firmware.
Did you fix this issue now cause i only want to flash twrp and prerooted rom not planning to flash lineage build

Android File decryption after failed update and bootloop

Hi there, I have a Poco F1 with LineageOS 19, Magisk + TWRP 3.6.1_9-0 and wanted to do an OTP update. However TWRP didn't prompt me to input my device PIN and it just updated the system anyway. TWRP did prompt me when I was on LOS 18 and TWRP 3.6.0_9-0
After restarting, my F1 got stuck in a bootloop, everytime restarting itself after 2-4 minutes.
I managed to get back to TWRP (still no PIN prompt) but I see that my internal storage is encrypted.

Now is it possible to somehow decrypt my files on PC or on the phone itself before I wipe everything?
Yes, I don't have any recent backups (at least 5 days ago) and would like to get some of my files back.
Thanks,
Vanta

Edit after 2 hours: I decided to wipe my phone, but knowing about the possibilities to recover from this would be nice anyway.
Xiaomi somehow made encryption insecure (intentionally?) by removing secure start-up. side effect it broke old encryption completely on upgrade. if you boot into OrangeFox recovery you will notice (regardless of FBE encryption) no screen lock credentials needed anymore
edit: only concerns MIUI not sure about LineageOS though
Why can I view files from "Internal Storage" WITHOUT entering password either in OrangeFox recovery or via USB cable on PC?
I was under impression that all user files are encrypted by default in Android using FDE. It was to my surprise that I can just run, for example, OrangeFox recovery and when it asks me for a passw...

I recently read that TWRP doesn't support decryption of Android 12, that's why my system broke after the OTA upgrade over the recovery...

Question System does not appear when I want to perform an advanced wipe.

I want to install a GSI and when I want to do a wipe (as practically all the tutorials on youtube show) I am surprised that my TWRP does not show it, instead, I get Metadata (which I really do not know and do not want to touch), I really want to install a GSI rom and every day I have more problems, I thank you to explain or help me to activate System (if it is possible).

Sorry to hear that youre having problems with your device. If you want to install a gsi, theres no need to wipe system.
Just copy the gsi.img to your internal storage.
Then in twrp, tap "install image" and locate the gsi.img file that you stored on your internal storage and select it.
Twrp will ask you to select a partition you want to flash, in this case choose "system" .
Comfirm the flash operation and wait for it to complete.
Wipe data and reboot your device.

Do a wipe to "Data" instead.
