Question Do you have to unlock the bootloader again after each stock ROM update? - Xiaomi Poco X3 Pro

Hi, I have a Poco x3 pro with an old ArrowOS
i want to try an upgraded version of arrowOS or LineageOS but i have to upgrade to stock ROM first,
Will I have t unlock my phone again ?
will it work if i don't remember my old xiaomi/mi account ?
thx

No it will not lock bootloader unless you checked lock bootloader in the flash tool when you flash rom

Your bootloader is already unlocked:
You can use the TWRP/O.F to flash the firmware (recovery rom) or Miflash (choose flash_all.bat) or directly with a fastboot rom.

You can also recover the password here:https://account.xiaomi.com/fe/service/forgetPassword?_group=DEFAULT&_bannerBiz=&_snsNone=true&_locale=en_US&sid=i.mi.com&callback=https://us.i.mi.com/sts?sign=QUjUnrCggg9No240fiSu7mm%2BaPw%3D&followup=https%3A%2F%2Fus.i.mi.com%2F&sid=i.mi.com&qs=

you're using expression I'm not sure I understand :
> "to flash the firmware (recovery rom)"
do you mean "to flash a Stock ROM" ?
because to me "recovery rom" can be confused with stock recovery / custom recovery
and so, I'm not sure what you want me to flash, the full stock ROM or just the stock recovery.img ?
I'm on android 11 and I want to install LineageOS 19.1 (android 12)
So I will need to install the Full stock ROM android 12 from Xiaomi : MIUI 13
Right ?
"Android 12 firmware" = Full stock ROM MIUI 13, Right ?

You can install the requested firmware if existing or the complete rom.
If only in recovery use the TWRp/O.F, firmware too, if Fastboot uses Miflash
Sometimes the firmware alone does not work, use the rom.
TWRP/O.F

Only if you use Miflash.
Please note that the clean all and lock box is checked by default

Device has failed verification, after changing oem

My original ROM is NXT-L29C432B320
I installed Nougat AL10, but wanted to get back, so I changed it to NXT-AL10C00B321
It was working well, till I changed it the oem, to install NXT-L29C432B521
Now
I have NXT-C00B380 ROM that is working.
Unlocked bootloader, unlocked FRP
No root
Device has failed verification
Any fastboot command doesn't work. FAILED (Remote: Command not allowed)
How can I go back to my original ROM?
Or
How to root it again without TWRP?

Try to dload B180 or B200 from there you can decide want to upgrade to EMUI 4.1 or EMUI 5 or else maintain EMUI 4.
Good luck.
Unlock the bootloader again even if it say unlocked.

Guys am fully confused....which one should i flash...which rom is best here regarding battery and performance..??
Pls post reviews.

Going back to stock rom and Netflix has become incompatible with my device.

I tried using Arrow Os and xiaomi.eu
Arrow OS has not yet fix Screen cast so i tried xiaomi.eu, but i really dislike the built in icon pack and i dont know how to disable it. so i tried to go back to stock rom.
now i flash stock rom v12.04 via MiFlash but after going back to stock rom Netflix and some payment apps has become incompatible and doest show when i search it on play store. I also tried installing stock rom v12.07 using TWRP but same results.
I flashed Arrow OS via orangefox and xiaomi.eu via TWRP.
Edit: when i go back to arrowOS and xiaomi.eu, netflix becomes available again.
Why did you change your recovery form OFOX to TWRP to flash stock ROM?
Try to reflash latest OFOX and try to flash stock ROM 12.0.7 via OFOX, and please report here if it by any chance worked better than with TWRP, thanks...

Yes. I used that rom. I actually have tried fixing this last week. I tried downloading and flashing stock roms from the official site and the mirrors provided here. But all of them didnt work. I got tired clean flashing and settled for arrowOS. But I really need my screen casting now so here i am again trying to find a fix.
the only thing that I can think of here is to perform factory reset right after you reflash and boot the Global rom again and see if that will help you somehow with your problem, otherwise I got nothing, sorry

Root OP 7 Pro on Android11

Hi everyone,
I've updated my OP 7 Pro (GM1910) to android 11, without knowing it will supress TWRP etc...
I've tried a few times de boot.img flash method in order to root my OP7 pro on A11 (with different boot.img, global, Eu with the magisk canary method and also with boot.img that i found on this forum) but it has failed every time (stuck at booting). I flash again the original boot.img and it works fine but impossible to make it work with the magisk boot.img.
Do you have any idea to make it work, till TWRP be compatible with A11?

No,
In fact i've downloaded a rolllback zip file in order to go back to android 10 (rollback process wipe all data) , then i've updated again to android 11 then i made the boot.im rooting method and it worked.
Maybe a factory reset in android 11 could be enough with the problem i had.
Make sure the magisk patched boot.im flashing method dont work before wiping all your data, otherwise it is sad
So how do I safely update my Oneplus7 Pro to Android 11 with root?
I have a update waiting to download. Oxygen OS 11.0.0.2.GM21AA.
There are not a lot of videos out there on how to go about upgrading to OS11?
I know twrp recovery doesn't currently work.
I would like some help I don't want to ruin my phone.
Thank you.

Question Back to Stock and relock boot loader?

I have a Poco x3 pro (global) and was wondering if I could use the Xiaomi Flash tool with the image shown below to flash the phone back to stock rom.
Also I was wondering how would relocking the boot loader work in this as I would like to go back to a fully stock system.

In the recovery fastboot ROM you download there should be plenty of scripts, including "flash_all_lock", which will do exactly what you need - flash stock firmware and relock bootloader.
My unzipped stock rom looks like this. I cannot see any scripts anywhere
many false infos in here as always... get fastboot rom. make sure you use the original miui which came stock with your device. in miflash bottom right, there will be a list. select clean all and lock option. this will do it for you.
just to make it safe, dont lock your bootloader after flashing recovery stock rom. fastboot is the cleanest way to do it.
But for the version that my phone is on (12.0.6.0) there is no fastboot rom for that version, only recovery

Then get the fastboot ROM for 12.0.5.0. You don't have to get the exact version your phone came with, just the same regional version (Global/EEU/India).

Thanks for this info, I’d read about xioami’s rollback protection and was concerned about installing an older version of The os that is installed.

You can read all there is to know about how ARP works here: https://www.xda-developers.com/xiaomi-anti-rollback-protection-brick-phone/amp/
With this knowledge you can check what rollback index your device currently has and the rollback index of the ROM you're trying to flash. I believe it only really changes with new Android versions, but don't take my word for it, it's better to check

there is a way to check anti roll back protection. enable adb debugging in developer settings, and if you dont have adb tools, get latest adb tools from xda. open your phone in fastboot mode and open cmd on your pc, type fastboot getvar anti.
if it says Anti: failed - 1 – 2 – 3 =>ARP is disabled.
if it says Anti: 4 => ARP is enabled.
