Question Back to Stock and relock boot loader? - Xiaomi Poco X3 Pro

I have a Poco x3 pro (global) and was wondering if I could use the Xiaomi Flash tool with the image shown below to flash the phone back to stock rom.
Also I was wondering how would relocking the boot loader work in this as I would like to go back to a fully stock system.

In the recovery fastboot ROM you download there should be plenty of scripts, including "flash_all_lock", which will do exactly what you need - flash stock firmware and relock bootloader.

My unzipped stock rom looks like this. I cannot see any scripts anywhere

many false infos in here as always... get fastboot rom. make sure you use the original miui which came stock with your device. in miflash bottom right, there will be a list. select clean all and lock option. this will do it for you.

just to make it safe, dont lock your bootloader after flashing recovery stock rom. fastboot is the cleanest way to do it.

But for the version that my phone is on (12.0.6.0) there is no fastboot rom for that version, only recovery

Yeah it's in the fastboot ROM, not recovery, my bad

Then get the fastboot ROM for 12.0.5.0. You don't have to get the exact version your phone came with, just the same regional version (Global/EEU/India).

Thanks for this info, I’d read about xioami’s rollback protection and was concerned about installing an older version of The os that is installed.

I do apologise for all the questions, but I was looking into the last available fast boot rom for my phone (global) which is 12.0.4.0 and was wondering if that would be okay to flash even though I have 12.0.6.0? Again sorry for the constant questions

You can read all there is to know about how ARP works here: https://www.xda-developers.com/xiaomi-anti-rollback-protection-brick-phone/amp/
With this knowledge you can check what rollback index your device currently has and the rollback index of the ROM you're trying to flash. I believe it only really changes with new Android versions, but don't take my word for it, it's better to check

there is a way to check anti roll back protection. enable adb debugging in developer settings, and if you dont have adb tools, get latest adb tools from xda. open your phone in fastboot mode and open cmd on your pc, type fastboot getvar anti.
if it says Anti: failed - 1 – 2 – 3 =>ARP is disabled.
if it says Anti: 4 => ARP is enabled.

Thanks, but it keeps failing at the first step (aboot) which is why I want a flashable version.
Unless you know how to get rid of the "Preflash Validation Failed" error.

Can you show me a screenshot of the error?
No for two reasons:
1. The error is in fastboot mode
2. I don't have a second device to take a picture. I'll try to find the error online.

It looks like it's trying to verify a file and but verfication failed so it will refuse to flash to the device. There is issues with trustzone which prevents the flashing of the tz partition.
But then how can I return it to true stock? I have it on stock but unlocked BL (4.4.4) and I can't find a stock fastboot flash for 4.4.4. I want the BL locked but I can't do that without returning to true stock.

You can flash this file: http://forum.xda-developers.com/mot...o-remove-bootloader-unlocked-warning-t2794104 to get rid of BL unlock warning.
I've done that. But I just want it locked because I'm giving my phone to my nephew for his first phone. I'm getting the N6. He does not know how to root or anything and I don't want to keep it unlocked. He can't access the BL unlock code because it's in my email. He could reapply but he doesn't know how.

As long as he doesn't flash it, the unlocked BL won't be an issue. Try flashing the partitions manually besides the tz partition.
I can't lock it then. I guess it doesn't matter to you, but in the event he decides to try to root it or something all he has to do it flash a recovery. And he's careless. But I guess there's no way to relock it. ?
You can't flash 4.4.2 if you have an up-to-date bootloader.

Can't Boot into TWRP

I have a 6045I 5.5 and no matter how many times i flash twrp 2.8.7.0 I still boot into stock recovery. I am sure the flash was succesful because the command prompt told me it was but this keeps happening. I heard on some website that this is due to the latest update from alcatel (which I installed ). Does anyone know a method of flashing twrp that still works as of 3 weeks ago? ( this is when I got the phone and updated it). If not does anyone know any other rooting methods that still work as of this month? I've already tried king root and towel root with no success.
P.S : Yes bootloader is unlocked in case that's the first thing you were gonna ask.

Did you try to follow the rest of the fastboot instructions in the unlock bootloader /root thread? You can also flash TWRP image with flashify from the play store for free. That is the method I used to achieve success. Hope that helps. Good luck! :good:

Yes, you do need root. Follow the rest of the guide and you will have root. Then use Flashify to flash Unjustified's TWRP.
This device needs to be rooted via the guide for a no problems root, starting with the unlocking of the bootloader. If you are having problems, factory reset, install drivers from phone, then read and follow the guide. Then flash TWRP and go on with your setup.
Solved
I ran into the same issue with my 6045O but I spent time and went over the instructions again... as they were vague. You need to make sure you use the correct Fastboot code to permanently install TWRP on your device.

I should have read this beforehand but I did it the same way as always. Magisk, restore images, OTA updates, magisk install to inactive slot and I get this and I can't get it to go away and it didn't update either. Root is gone as well but it didn't update.
Edit: it fixed itself after the 3rd attempted update. Lost root but that's an easy. I don't know why it did it. Leaving for anyone else that might have this issue

Just updated through updated stock image. Thanks for all your efforts
In my case I have found that it is not necessary to flash the stock boot image in order to update. I simply installed the update, rebooted to bootloader, booted the patched boot.img (not flashed), and installed Magisk to my boot partition from there. That way you don't permanently mismatch your ROM from your boot partition in case you are not using global ROM (which is the case for me). I don't know if the boot partition actually differs between the ROMs but this feels cleaner
Won't let me download the OTA after going back to stock bootloader. I have my CN OP9 cross flashed to global. I keep getting Couldn't Update Installation Problem. Guess i'll wait for Oxygen Update.

if it detects that your device is rooted, it will switch to downloading the full update instead of the incremental one. Maybe it is different on global ROM, but that's what worked for me
Thanks, updated from 11.2.4.4 with the stock boot img i found in the other thread with this guide.

I got the point 3.6.2 is the release version of TWRP. I mean (or in my knowledge) twrp.me is the official site. And in the past, I only trusted https://twrp.me/Devices/Xiaomi/ . Sorry about the negative thought, I just felt nervous. Is SKKK a good maintainer, should I trust him/them?

Oh that's weird, I just wondered because it's giving me an option to 'flash to both slots', do I just ignore the option and flash or do I check it?

Your bootloader is already unlocked:
You can use the TWRP/O.F to flash the firmware (recovery rom) or Miflash (choose flash_all.bat) or directly with a fastboot rom.

you're using expression I'm not sure I understand :
> "to flash the firmware (recovery rom)"
do you mean "to flash a Stock ROM" ?
because to me "recovery rom" can be confused with stock recovery / custom recovery
and so, I'm not sure what you want me to flash, the full stock ROM or just the stock recovery.img ?
I'm on android 11 and I want to install LineageOS 19.1 (android 12)
So I will need to install the Full stock ROM android 12 from Xiaomi : MIUI 13
Right ?
"Android 12 firmware" = Full stock ROM MIUI 13, Right ?

You can install the requested firmware if existing or the complete rom.
If only in recovery use the TWRp/O.F, firmware too, if Fastboot uses Miflash
Sometimes the firmware alone does not work, use the rom.

Only if you use Miflash.
