Question Realme Gt Neo 2 Won't turn on - Realme GT Neo 2

Hi there. I came here on last resort.. Yesterday after I did the last update of the security patch (december 2022 I believe), the phone rebooted just fine, and after about 5-10 minutes it froze. Screen on and simply froze. A bit after the screen went off. After 2 -3 minutes like this I tried to force restart it by holding the power button and It did vibrate altough the screen didn't turn on and it didn't reboot.
Today and even after having it charging for a while it's just dead.. Doesn't turn on, can't put in it recovery mode also, nothing.
I have no idea what happened but I can't do much.
Any advice guys?
Appreciate in advance.

The same here. I can't even boot into recovery mode. I have no idea how they're going to fix this problem. Figures - this is the first Android phone that I haven't mess with i.e. root, etc.

Well I cannot be without phone and even after being charging for more than 5 hours, there wasn't even a signal of life on it. Nothing. I also couldn't even do a backup or something. Frustrating.
Bought it on amazon last year. Spoke to them and they will refund the value. Will send it back and already bought another phone. (Redmi note 11 pro).
Regarding this is just very very bad. Stuff like this cannot happen after an oficial update.
Bye Gt2 :'c

Have no Idea of what they will do because the phone is dead pretty much.. Think this is only fixable by going to a store or something...

Unless the phone is working except the screen is off I can't see it being easily fixed. I bought my off Aliexpress so I might **** out of luck.

I tried to see if it would make some noise like if the phone was working and screen off but nothing.. IDK but this really sucks. Maybe trie to contact realme directly?

I tried plugging the phone into my computer to see if it was recognized by WIndows but nothing. I have contacted them via email and Aliexpress message board but these Chinese companies aren't known for having good customer service. It's a shame for I quite like the phone. May I ask what you bought as a replacement?

I also did that but nothing. Initially I tought it could be the battery. It was either that or the update but if you also had it then for sure it was the update and there's probably more with the same problem.. Can only wish you luck with the customer support..
I've bought the xiaomi redmi note 11 pro. I just searched similar priced phones compared to what I paid for the realme(320€) and that was the best option for the price. It costed 289€. The 6gb variant. It's not a direct competitor but it's more than enough for me and it offers a lot for the price. I also had a few xiaomis before and I don't have complaints. I checked the realme 9 pro but the xiaomi was cheaper and has better specs overall.

Thanks for the update - Good luck with the new phone.

hi to all, the device is in EDL mode?
So it means you cannot acces recovery, fastboot mode and also you cannot boot your phone!

Thanks for the response. After setting up a new Oneplus 9 Pro by changing the the firmware from T-Mobile to basic Global. I'm able to get into EDL mode . I also have the correct drivers installed in WIndows so it appears in the Device Manager when in EDL mode. I also have the current firm. I just need a working version of the MSM program.

Something similar happened to me yesterday twice, device suddenly turned off while I wasn't even looking, and wouldn't turn on again no matter how much time I'd press the power button.
However; When I held Power Button + Volume UP for a few seconds, the device did turn ON back again.

Geez this worked perfectly, you are a lifesaver!! After holding the Power Button + Volume Up my device did turn ON. I faced all similar issues mentioned in this thread related to booting after the screen went black while using it.

[Q] Please Help: Nexus 5 cannot turn on

Does anyone know how to turn on the Nexus 5? Today I found the phone turned off automatically. The last time I used it was half hour before I found it was off. I know it had enough battery. I tried power on more than 10 sec. I tried power + both volume buttons, I tried power + one volume button. I tried charging it. None of them works. It just stopped working after worked for me for 4 months.I haven't rooted or installed other ROM. I didn't install to much Apps also. Before this trouble, the phone works perfectly. But now it doesn't give me any response without any reason.

As you tried holding the power button for about 10-20 seconds you can try to connect the phone to a charger to see if you see a charging animation. Can you get into bootloader (volume down and power)? Try charging the phone a little longer (1 hour or more). If nothing works all you can do is RMA or send it in for repair.

Thank you for your reply! I charged it the whole night. But it still didn't give me any response this morning. I cannot see any animation when I charged it. I cannot find any device when I connected it to the computer. I tried to get into bootloader (volume down and power), but no response either.

You should go to a LG repair shop. Its LG who does the service, not Google.

Only the original owner (your friend) can claim warranty and only in the country where the phone was bought. You`ll have to send it to the US. You can also send it to a local LG repair centre but you`ll have to pay for it yourself most likely.

I heart from my friend that the Nexus 5 have the charging problem. I realize that the day, before I my phone was dead, was the first time it ran out of the power. I mean one day before, I used the phone to 0% and then turned off automatically. But after that, I managed to charge it and turned on. And the second day the phone stopped working...
Does anyone have new idea to solve the problem?

You might also want to try turning it on underneath a bright light. For example, turn on a desk lamp, and point it right at the top of the phone while you try to turn it on.
I know that sounds like an odd suggestion, but it's worth a shot. People were having a similar issue with the HTC One, and it turned out to be because of a built-in pocket mode that tried to use the light sensor to prevent it from turning on in a pocket or bag. Sometimes, it would bug out and only work in the face of a really bright light. Obviously, it was most prevalent in the HTC One because that was built in, but it happens in other phones when you use apps that have a similar function, such as AcDisplay and such.

Hi gee2012,
I almost give up and plan to send to phone back to US. Now I find I can hear the current sound from the top part of the phone when ever I press the power button, or when the phone is connected to the charger.
If the phone is not connected to the charger, the current sound with disappear after around 15 seconds even I hold the power button.
Does that mean something? I think at least it means the phone does have power in the battery.
I tried to connect the phone to the computer, but I cannot find any device related to the phone.

JUST SEND IT BACK. The longer you try to "fix it" the longer you're gonna be without a functioning phone. I know it's frustrating and you wanna fix it, but honestly it really sounds like it's dead. Just send it back to your friend and let him RMA it.

[Q] Nexus 5 constantly rebooting at 'Google'

Guys my gf's Nexus 5 shutdown today and just refuses to boot up. It doesn't do anything with any of the keys pressed in any of the combinations that are defined. But once it is plugged in to the charger or USB, the google logo pops up and the phone keeps on rebooting to that logo. If the volume down key is pressed when this is happening, the fastboot mode is visible for a second and the phone keeps rebooting. No action can be done in the fastboot mode due to the quick reboot. I am attaching the video of the problem. Any help guys?

If on battery, then the phone does nothing. If plugged in to charger and the key combination is tried then the phone keeps on doing as shown in the video.
Don't know what's going on.
Try doing that but with the phone connected to a PC that has adb and fastboot installed.

You have a fauilty or a stucked power key.
If it is just stucked then you can unstuck it by abusing the power key or taking the phone apart.
If it is fauilty then you have to claim your warranty.
If you disassemble the phone you will void your warranty

A few days back, she had got the power button fixed because the power button response had become intermittent and the phone was rebooting randomly. She had taken the phone to a LG service center first, but they told her that changing the button or trying to fix it might damage the board and told her to change the board altogether. So we took it to a local repair guy who fixed it and the phone was working fine till yesterday when it shutdown all of a sudden and then the rest is history.
Note: The phone is not under warranty as the phone was bought from Dubai and we stay in India. No international warranty.

Then you have to visit that local repairer guy pay him to replace the power key again or pay LG to replace the mother board.

Yeah the repair guy you dealt with must have fixed the button short-term but in doing so inadvertently caused it to short out. Meaning it needs to go back to a repair shop (better one) and cross your fingers that it didn't short out more important components

Okie. Will take the phone to LG tomorrow or over the weekend.
Guys please clear my one doubt. If it's the stuck power button, what does it have to do with the phone not doing anything when on battery but decides to go till 'Google' when plugged in?

Did you get it fixed? I have the same issue and I've tried many ways to bring it back to life. My last step will be taking it to the tech support, because I live in Brazil, and I'm pretty sure they will charge me expensively as hell.

Had my Nexus 5 for about a few month now, and have loved it till this morning, it decided to just shut off (full battery too) and i tried to turn it on and it is now just constantly starting up to the "Google" splash screen then shutting off.
Sometimes it gets to the the 4 color circles then shuts off.
I want to enter into recovery mode, but I have no time to click recovery mode as it reboots frequently
One thing i noticed when it did boot up was the power button seems to be extremely sensitive and volatile
I had this same problem.. It constantly rebooted and wouldn't let me get into recovery.. Every time I plugged in the charger it would reboot also. You have to let the battery completely drain.. I gave it a couple weeks.. then tried it again and it worked.
Found a solution
Well same thing started to happening with me yesterday after installing android L's developers' preview in my nexus 5. It worked well for first 4-5 hours but then after terminating a phone call when I put it back to my pocket problem started. I searched many forums for solution then I decided to re-install from image. I connected my phone to My PC (Which had driver installed & fastBoot setup) dramatically my phone started working well. And I detached my phone from PC. So I thought it might solved because after supplying charging. But after 3-4 hours it started again so I directly plugged in to electric socket but it kept on rebooting. Then I turned on my PC and attached my nexus 5 with it. Again it started dramatically.
Still I don't know the exact reason behind it. But good new is my phone is still working since last 16 hours... But I took care of not to launch some apps listed risky for developer's preview. So I thing some incompatible app launch may be a reason... but still its only "may be"

[Q] Nexus 5 constantlly turning on and off

For quite a long time I did not make any change on Nexus ROM or applications, but yesterday my Nexus turns off while I was web browsing. I tried to turn it on but it refuses. It is only possible with USB cable plugged in, but then it constantly turns on for 1 second and then turns off, and this is going in endless loop as soon as USB cable is plugged in. But with unplugged cable NEXUS can not be powered on.
The video can be seen on this link
https://www.dropbox.com/s/cvyxii4ctm4aqgu/VID_20141110_190522.mp4?dl=0
Yesterday I somehow manage to get in recovery mode and I wipe cache and Nexus boot ROM, but after 30 minutes of usage it again turns of by itself. After that for more than 100 times I tried to get to recovery mode but I could not.
So, I think that my only chance to wipe cache and put new ROM is through ADB. But I do know how to do that. Can anyone help me?
P.S. I both my NEXUS in US, but I live in Croatia (EU) and Google tells that they can not make exchange for other NEXUS (although my phone is under warranty) because they can only do that for postal address inside US. Because I do not live there and any of my friends or relative will travel in US soon my only way to get my NEXUS working is through ADB.
sounds as your power button is "stuck'.

It usually helps the button back out again, I think you should RMA to LG, I'm sure they're worldwide. You could always open up the phone and try unsticking the power button if you can't be bothered sending it back.

Power button is not what cause the problem. I found many reports about the same problem, like on this page
http://www.reddit.com/r/Nexus5/comments/29tr5n/nexus_5_wont_turn_on_google_screen_keeps_flashing/
but nothing which I tried did not helped. But certainly power button is not causing the problem.
When the problem appears for the first time I manage to get into recovery and wipe cache, and after that phone booted ROM. After 30 minutes of working phone turns off and now I'm not able to get even into recovery.

So, since shaking, hard wacks, and anyting physical did not helped after your post I dismantle my phone and without back plate and upper plate on chips my phone works perfectly. So it seems that upper plate which covers chips is the cause of the problem.
For me, not even disassembling has helped, so I bought another motherboard and put it into my phone.

the problem occured and i found what it was my power button it wasnt staying in place like its tilting so now i got to buy a new button for it :/
As far as I remember, the button is soldered to the board, and can not be bought separately. I know the second thing for sure, since I was also only searching for a separate button in the beginning...

Google Pixel Bricked on Oreo Twice! Ideas? Anyone Else?

Story
- Upgraded my Pixel to Oreo 2 weeks ago.
- 1st instance: Was doing a file transfer from iPhone to Pixel of photos via USB-C to lightning cable. Suddenly phone freezes. I restart and can't boot OS at all. Recovery mode was not working (display/text of recovery mode messed up). Files unrecoverable.
- Phone RMA'd. Replaced with refurbished Pixel.
- 2nd instance: Was just driving. Listening to music on car's bluetooth. Music stops because phone froze. I restart the phone and the display shows nothing at all. Multiple tries to reboot and enter recovery mode and nothing shows up on display. I just get haptic feedback when I press and hold power button.
- Currently outside the US and won't be back until December. Google can't honor warranty and send a phone to me outside the US. (Phone bought from Google Store in US and RMA'd while I was in US).
Ideas? Anyone else experienced this with Oreo?
sounds weird but plug it into the charger and let it sit over night. The next day unplug it for an hour then try to turn it on

Thanks for the suggestion. No luck though. It's non-responsive. The only feedback I get are vibrations when I try to enter recovery mode but nothing shows up on the display. It isn't even detected on USB by a computer...
I faced a similar issue a few months ago when I woke up in the morning and my phone was unresponsive. It wasn't plugged in but I went to bed with more than enough battery to make it through the night. I would get one short vibration after ~20 sec of power + voldown and nothing else.
An online chat with Google support got me an RMA with few questions asked.
If you can feel the haptic feedback that means the OS is powered or if not then at least kernel is responding to the taps. Try and install the adb and fastboot drives manually in PC or you can give Skipsoft Toolkit a try. Once done, you can manually flash the factory image on it.
IMHO, such frozen screen and bootloops are related to hardware issues - generally loose connectors. Rather waiting for December you can try your luck with above.
Good Luck!

Thanks. My problem is I'm currently out of the US and won't be back until December. I was able to RMA the first one without any problems because I was still in the US when it happened.

Thanks! I'm trying this right now. This needs USB debugging enabled though, right? I wasn't able to activate it on the 1-week-old Pixel yet

New Zenfone 6 won't turn back on after turning off for the first time after update.

So I was able to get my hands on a new 8gb/512gb matte black version of this. Was setting up the phone, updated to Android 10 first before transfering sms, call logs and updating apps. Went to turn off the phone to insert my SIM card and now the phone won't turn on. It vibrates every time I press the power button but then nothing. Currently it's connected to the supplied charger with the LED light lit red. It was already charging while I was using it, had about 70% battery before I switched it off. I've tried volume down + power button for 10 seconds, LED light turns off and it vibrates, and it keeps vibrating every 10 seconds when it's connected to the charger (doesn't keep vibrating when it's not connected). Can feel the area between the fingerprint reader and camera pretty hot during this. Volume up + power doesn't work either. Any ideas?
Try pressing and holding all three.
Power + vol up + vol down. Should force a reboot.

No response. Not even a vibrate.
That is unfortunate. I had this multiple times. Black screen but phone was on. Just did not react to power button or screen did not turn on. The button combo helped.
Only other idea I have is to let the battery run out. If the phone is even on in your case.
How could you tell if the phone was actually on? Could you receive calls or something?
And this was on your Zenfone 6 too?
I've left it off charge for the last 5 days now. I don't think it's gonna run flat soon, considering that it's not even on.
I think I will send it back to the seller (Taiwan!) tomorrow
The notification led was blinking. Yeah on zf6. It stopped happening a few month ago. Probably fixed in a few update. But yours seems to be a different problem.

I am not sure where, but I think when I was trying to fix my hard bricked Z6, some post said that a red LED without any other notion from the phone means that you may be able to get this running in QD-Loader mode - check this: https://forum.xda-developers.com/zenfone-6-2019/how-to/qdloader-brick-t3980165
Can you get the phone to register as a COM-device?

My post on here: recognised as an Android ADB Interface but I can't do an adb reboot as "device not found"

Thanks for this. I actually saw this a few days ago but was reluctant to try as I'm worried it might void the warranty.

Try again the Power + vol up + vol down combo, but hold it 30 secs. If still does not reboot, get worried...

I did hold them for 1 minute and no response before. Is there a specific order which they should be pressed and held?
No, no order. Just all pressed together at once. I think you should return the phone. Last year there was a similar issue with an update and many phones had to be returned, but it was solved.
If the combo don't reboot the phone I would return it. I don't want to give them excuses not to honor the guarantee.

It was never solved. It's still happening even to new ASUS phones.
To OP: Return the phone immediately. Your mobo is 95% dead. It's a hardware issue so trying to fix that is not worth losing the warranty.

Yeah so weird as I only did an OTA firmware update from the shipped Android 9 to Android 10. It installed successfully and rebooted once. But only died once I shut it down. Was there a thread about it?

Yeah it actually just got back to Taiwan yesterday. Seller is being annoying though and not wanting to send me a replacement. But instead wanting to refund me and then asking me to repurchase (at a potentially higher price like seriously -_-).
Such a hassle.

might be you received damaged Cell because I faced the same issue when I bought LG G4 Cell, Seller told it was new but after I sent to Service Center they told its repaired cell and not new, it was motherboard issue, so might be you also picked up cell like that, other I never faced any problem in Asus 6z since I bought last year

They refunded me and couldn't get stock of a new one. The repair centre apparently can't fix it either lol.
Anyway it's a blessing in disguise as I'm gonna buy the Zenfone 7 or 7 Pro now.

Yes..Nice Choice, Hope Asus 7 Series Price not like onePlus & others
Same thing just happened to my wife's phone. She received an OTA update from ASUS which resulted in her phone rebooting itself during the night and getting stuck at the ASUS splash screen totally unresponsive.
I waited for the battery to die and after charging the phone powered up. It lasted 12 hours before suddenly shutting itself down when the wife was changing settings to pull the time from the network.
Now dead as a brick. Charge light no longer lights. Totally unresponsive. No amount of power button/volume button combination or time will do anything to make it work again.
Pretty pissed off as it was purchased early Sep last year and has already been sent back to ASUS in Taiwan for the USB charge port board replacement. Now 1 yr and 17 days old.
I do not know what to do now except push for a repair under warranty.
Nearly on the day when my warranty went out the ZenFone did it to.Used Bluetooth to my headphones and suddenly it went dead for good. Was reading that others on the net had the same problem and guess its a major built in fault on a rather expensive phone when i bought it. Got a new phone of a different brand and will for sure never return to any Asus phones when quality aint a strong word for that brand. Over and out.
Wow. I was looking at these phones but there are issues it seems.
Rule #1 if your OS is fast, stable and fulfilling its mission...
Do Not Update!
This goes double for carrier phones. AT&T for example can wreck your user experience with their later updates.
With Pie and above security isn't an issue unless you do something stupid.
Don't get sucker in by scare hype.
Always redundantly backup critical data to at least 2 hdds and always be ready to reload. Reload if you can't resolve a malware issue asap. Cover your ass...ets
