I write this post because i think it will help some users who will be in the same situation as me. However, i take this opportunity to thank @surfer63, @mariodantas, and others (who i do not mention) for the commitment they put into these units.
I have a NaviFly M700S 8-128GB 9", whose manufacturer id = 116 and the uiid = 4, with Simple Soft XP canbus mounted on a Peugeot 308 of 2012, purchased in August 2022 to which I provide internet through the hotspot of my Huawei P30. Since the first days of possession i can say that i am very satisfied with this unit, except for some functions of the canbus that does not allow me to see all the info/error on the screen and that I can not control the air conditioning from the screen of the unit. For the rest, everything satisfies me widely.
From the early days i had AA that worked with USB cable connection but not wireless. But I must say that I never used/tried it because at that time i was not interested in having it that much. I didn't mind that much because i use AA very rarely, i.e. when I do long distances by car. But i was a bit disappointed for the fact that i had a great unit and that i could not have all its potential available. However, seeing that my son with his iPhone 14 could connect wirelessly i tried to succeed too, also because reading in various posts/forums many people with Android smartphones succeed.
I then tried to install various versions of Carlink 2.0 to no avail. Thinking that the problem was due to my old firmware, i updated the unit with the latest Mekede firmware without getting the desired results. Finally, i also updated my Navifly with the latest Joying firmware without results; my P30 wouldn't connect wirelessly.
Thinking and thinking about this problem this morning i started watching various videos about Carlink and uis7268 and i had the enlightenment. I saw a video in which he showed how to get the "developer settings" in AA and from there i set the option "add wireless projection". After that the connection with my P30 worked wirelessly with AA.
So now, from home I can open Maps, enter a destination, activate Bluetooth and Wi-Fi on the phone and as soon as I get in the car AA activates on the M700S showing Maps and making me listen to the radio and / or mp3 music of the media player. That's great.
But now I have 2 problems:
1) with AA enabled, then with Bluetooth and Wi-Fi enabled on the phone, the unit cannot have internet. If I turn on, the hotspot on your AA phone turns off.
2) in AA I can listen to the radio, mp3 from the media player but I can not listen to Spotify music, both because I do not have internet from the hotspot and because among the AA apps, Spotify is not there and I can not figure out how to put it.
Does anyone have any suggestions?
Here are photos of the features of the unit.

Nothing to do, you're casting android auto wireless via wifi (some kind of wifi-direct) and you can't have both hotspot and wifi cast, annoying I know, but I don't see a solution for that, maybe someone here can help ?

Thanks for your post.
1) That is indeed exactly how Android Auto does that. It is your phone that is simply extending its simplified screen to the head unit. And in a car with real AA, you still can use the radio on the background (as I do use AA a lot in the rental cars I drive for my work)
2) Spotify should be there. I still don't like AA but in the past weeks I also experimented a little with it, and spotify on my phone, is immediately available on my head unit when I connect my phone. I did that via USB and not via wifi, but that should not make any difference I think. But anyaway: did you try that? Does Spotify show up if you use a USB connection?

I tried the USB connection and Spotify was absent. Except I did a test. I turned off both bluethoot and wi-fi on, restarted the unit, then on the phone I started Spotify. While Spotify was started, on the phone I activated both bluetooth and wi-fi, at that moment Carlink started on the unit and I had AA with spotyfy playing. Now it appears to me among the AA apps

I can use the radio while carplay is connected in my headunit. Radio stops if I press play button to play music from Apple Music app.
In fact, I read somewhere (sorry don't remember) that this carlink 2.0 works much better with Apple CP than AA
For AA you have a paid solution in the Playstore, named: Headunit Reloaded

In fact Mario, my son with his iPhone had no problem and connected instantly.
As for me, I have no intention of spending money on AA, it is enough for me as it is if it works, for what little I will use it.
Small OT I have to see if I can get the unit to make calls, I haven't tried them yet. And I add that on my P30 I have never used "OK Google" and I even believe that it is disabled. Tomorrow I will try.
Spotify needs to be installed on your Huawei P30 to work with Android Auto.
Remember Android Auto is running the apps on your phone and not the Spotify app installed on the heat unit.
You may need to open Spotify before starting Android Auto.
I think the only way to have wireless android auto with internet access is to use a SIM in the head unit.
I don't think there's a way to have your head unit connected to your phones hotspot with Android Auto enabled.
Wired Android Auto works with hotspot enabled on your phone no problem.

Yes, you're right. But I don't want to spend money on another SIM. I will settle for using the internet when I don't use AA.

I posted this over at the other ppc site. I just want to thank everyone on this site. I got a neutered Verizon Touch Pro and have been able to download all the necessary fixes and cabs to get
GPS, youtube working on my HTC TP.
I finally set up my phone to do all my gps, web, and music in my car, a Land Rover Range Rover Sport.
It is connected to a bypass switch that overrides the built-in car OEM nav unit.
I had a carputer (see my other youtube videos) but the HTC Touch Pro kicks ***.
I was dealing with Road Runner and no album art. The bluetooth GPS always needed to be re-paired. IGo does not run in Windows XP, etc.....
With the HTC TP, I have everything I want. I even use W.V.D to download youtube music videos in mp4 and play them on my phone while I drive.
I wanted a HTC TP because of the miniSD, the GPS, the video out and I can run iGo8, Iguidance and Garmin XT.
Here is the youtube video of it in action:

it's a range rover sport.. I'm pretty sure he says it's his stock screen.
I wonder if it's possible to bluetooth all that data?
I like the charging lights on the Verizon touch pro! The GSM ones just have the glow around the center button.
This solution ROCKS! Great idea and implementation!!!
Try that with an iPhone hahahaha
Looks very nice! I agree with you, these devices are so versatile. The TP is the best pocket pc ever ; )
This is exactly what I want to do in my wife's G35x once I install a double din touchscreen.

Yes, it is the stock factory nav screen that comes with the car. Car has bluetooth built in for telephony and address book.
You can't transfer video data via bluetooth.
Nice!
im waiting for a RCA switch, as i have my ipod hooked up to play vids though my car screen, cant wait to be able to display them both!
mrspeedmaster,
Do you use the Official HTC TV Out Dongle? If so, do you charge your TP at the same time. I don't have the TV Out Dongle but the Audio/Charger one that came with my Fuze. I noticed when I play music in my car thru an Aux. Input and Charge at the same time I hear feedback.
Just wondering if you hear feedback while you charge at the same time?

btw, your set up Kick A$$
Quick question.. Which converter did you use to get the signal from USB to RCA NTSC/PAL? I bought a box from converters.tv, and the signal is not grounding right.. Now that I paid up, i'm sure there is no rush to get my problem resolved, lol

I am using the OEM HTC video cable hooked up to a GVIF adaptor that is made for LandRover, Lexus, and the same one use for the Prius. It is a converter box with 4 AV inputs that overrides the factory navigation unit. GVIF is a connection like HDMI for cars.
As to the other question, there is a bit of a background buzz. I drown it out with the volume. I'll try to shield it better.

They have a R-G-B adaptor. Check gnet canada website (google) or search mp3car.com . I've read some people doing stuff with the Nissan 350z and Infiniti G35 so I know it is possible.
Is it not slower then just on the Raphael? TomTom is not the fastest anyway. I mean TV-OUT would be slower as CPU/GPU is working harder?
Cheers
Chris
speaking of in car computers...since my road computer has only some basic functions and a minimal screen i am using my Athena (bought it second hand) and and it's big, touch VGA screen. i can even read and answer SMS when i am catching a red light or even send an e-mail while parking near a hot-spot. no wires. just a simple stand and a hook, and the possibility to hide it when i am living the car. when i wanted to install the original on board computer i was asked for 2000$! so, in my car i am using my Athena with a BT and out of the car my HD.
Sweet setup for both of you! I have a Jensen the one that has built-in Bluetooth and a hookup for RGB. I had the same idea... Use my touch pro as the nav and what ever else I can! Just ordered my TV out cable and now it's a waiting game. It's awesome to know it's going to work.
In the second picture in mrspeedmaster's post it doesn't look like you have the dongle plugged in but you gave both images on the LCD and on the phone... Am I just not seeing it?
You know, I actually feel stupid for wanting a carputer up until i saw this. It just occurred to me, that I HAVE one now, I just need decent video. Only thing missing is touch screen support, but that's not a huge deal.
Thanks for the inspiration!!
Mrspeedmaster...I'm sure you have bluetooth integration for phone calls, but if your TP was only connected via the video out cable could you still send/recv phone calls? I'm wondering if the TP mic would pick up your voice while the cable would carry the caller's voice through your stereo system. Thanks and nice setup!

I see what you are saying. My car's bluetooth takes precedent over everything. I had an iPhone hooked up to one of the AV jacks and when I had a call, the car's phone bluetooth system over-rode everything GPS, CD, Aux input. I'll have to try it with the HTC Pro.

FH-P8000BT with integrated Bluetooth/external microphone. No Bluetooth adapters to buy. Mine was $230.00 delivered, prices have gone up slightly since I purchased.
Amazon Link
I am posting this because I know there are lots of people having big trouble with certain Bluetooth devices and the Nexus One. While this setup isn't perfect, it's seems to be working better for me than many people are experiencing with factory car Bluetooth installations, particularly in Nissans.
I installed a new head unit in my car today. I didn't have any way to play MP3's in the car, and I wanted to remedy that, and figured why not get something with an integrated bluetooth solution for phone and audio as well while I'm at it.
I picked a double-din Pioneer FH-P8000BT (with built in Bluetooth, but with an external microphone). It's no high end unit, but it has a decent amount of features for the price, and gets good reviews.
Amazon had it for $230ish, delivered.
Pros:
Pioneer syncs bluetooth for both music and phone with Nexus one.
Once paired initially, the Bluetooth connects automatically when the vehicle is started.
Bluetooth audio quality is much better than I expected for Bluetooth.
GPS NAV voice directions work well over car speakers with Bluetooth connection. This is welcome, as the Nexus One's built in speakerphone is not the greatest.
Phone has priority - incoming call switches to phone mode automatically, muting whatever else is playing.
Pioneer microphone for hands free works reasonably well. Typical muffling of outgoing phone audio.
The PAC adapter for steering wheel controls works reasonably well.
It's rated at 50W RMS, which I am sure is bull, but it's still punchier than the stock radio.
Being able to place the external microphone is a real plus compared to having a microphone built into the head unit. It allows for better placement, and since the mic uses a standard mono mini audio plug, it would be a cinch to replace with another to try to improve the sound. But it's unnecessary because the supplied mic works acceptably.
Cons:
Edit: I was able to finally sync the address book - with lots of persistance. Once synced, it retains the info and you don't normally need to resync each time you connect. Syncs fail most of the time.
No Radio preset buttons. You can scan between presets, but nothing resembling an old fasioned push me and go directly to this channel button.
The menus are less than intuitive - for example you have to read the manual to figure out how to set the clock unless you venture a very lucky guess.
There doesn't appear to be a way to shut the radio completely off. Edit: There is, by pressing and holding a multifunction button. There is no dedicated on/off button that is illuminated, which was the source of my initial confusion.
No bluetooth or radio voice dial capability.
Sometimes playback control through the head unit is lost, even if streaming is still working. If I reconnect, it comes back most of the time.
As I said, this is a lower end unit, so maqny of the cons are really a lack of features because I cheaped out. My biggest beef is the address book not syncing reliably - that really should just work. Most of my other complaints are about lack of controls, but what's there works pretty well. I've gained a lot of good functionality, it sounds good and overall, I am happy to have it. Hands free phone and music with plenty of volume and no cords is very nice. I have a car charger in the event I need the NAV. Now all I need is a good bracket to car mount the phone, and it will be a pretty complete solution for travel.
Note: I am using cyanogenmod 5.0.5.3, and have tested with stock ROM. You're BT experience may vary, especially if you're running something else.
attn1 said:
[*]So far, I haven't figured out how to get the address book to sync to make outgoing calls from the radio. This means that although it's a great hands free setup, you're still fiddling with the phone for outgoing calls.

Hi, on my car I have a pionner CD-BTB200 Bluetooth Adapter and I also had problems with the contacts. What I did was, create a vcard ( I think i did this vcard with microsoft outlook) with my top contacts, then I installed 2 programs in the nexus, the Astro file manager and the Bluetooth file manager.
Then with the astro I searched for my vcard and I send it to my car radio by bluetooth ( I had to put on the transfer mode on the radio first).
Now if someone calls me and if that person is on that list the name will apear on the radio, if not only the number.
Hope that can help you and sorry for my bad english.

Your english is fine for this purpose. Thanks for the tip. I'll give that a try.
Wel, I managed to sync my phonebook with it today, so now I can make calls without touching the phone. Sweet.
It's great to see that you got everything working properly. I have a Pionner headunit that's not too old, DEH-P710BT (last year's model) but I can't seem to get the a2dp audio working. It'll try to connect the audio and then fail. Phone works though. I figure it'd be pretty similar to your deck in terms of the bluetooth hardware and software that Pioneer uses. If you ever happen to go back to stock firmware on your N1, it'd be great if you could try again and let me know. I wonder if it's just a problem with my N1 using stock firmware. Just not sure if I want to root it yet and install cyanogenmod.

I am back to stock firmware at the moment. It works fine for the most part. Getting the address book to sync took several attempts and sometimes I can't control a2dp playback properly from the head unit. Most of the time it works fine. I haven't really noticed any difference between the stock firmware and Cyanogen 5.0.5.3 that I can put my finger on with regard to interoperability of Bluetooth and this head unit.
Maybe there is a firmware update from Pioneer for your unit?
Thanks for the awesome review and adding it to the Nexus One radio compatability list
For those curious check it out HERE

Hi everyone. I'm new here. Great review attn1! I am very satisfied with it as well. I have this same exact head-unit and a2dp & phone calls worked perfectly. For example, I could be listening to a podcast on Google Listen, then a phone call would come in. I could then answer it, talk for a bit, hang up, then I Google Listen would resume.
Within the past few days however, I've been having some trouble. Not sure if you've experienced this or not. My BT connection would break. (It doesn't break with other phones) I can't determine what's causing the disconnect because I can't consistently get it to break. Sometimes it breaks in the middle of listening to some music. Sometimes it breaks just before I receive a call which bad because of the laws here in Cali.
The only thing that I did recently was install wifi fixer, but I later removed it. I felt like wifi fixer was messing with my bt... but I'm not completely sure.
On a side note, has anyone been able to get sound to stream over the BT connection? I'm not referring to having the head unit read and play music off the microsd, i can do that just fine. I'm interested if it can tap into the phone's main volume out so that I can hear everything (music, notifications, navigation directions). I could only get this to work a2dp but not through usb.
I'm running the stock 2.1 update 1 firmware.
No trouble with maintaining blue tooth connections on mine, and audio and NAV streaming works fine as well.
Hello everyone I just thought we should compile a list of car head units compatable with the nexus one via Bluetooth is peffered and how well it works.
The idea behind this project is to help people select a new car stereo should you be in the market for a new one or just need a new one to work with your Nexus.
My head unit (Bought 5 minutes ago) is the Pioneer AVH-P3200DVD + CD-BTB200 Bluetooth add on for A2DP/AVRCP from my Nexus which are both supported. The reason I did not get the AVH-P3200BT is because unfortunately A2DP/AVRCP are not supported on that unit... Go figure..

That's exactly why I decided I didn't really need a DVD player. Bluetooth and DVD is big bucks, but his choice is a good one if you really feel like DVD is important to you.
Yes I've always wanted to watch dvds on long trips in my car when I'm sitting shotgun. with this unit I can not only stream music from my nexus one but I also have the ability to stream video so all the movies on my 32GB card are easily watchable to to mention for maybe $100 I could have navigation added with internal maps should I lose my cell phone signal with maps navigation.
Lets just say I've wanted one since I was 16 and I am now 22 and decided with my phone of forever its time

I never :ever: ride shotgun in my car, and my wife doesn't want to watch video in a car, so DVD is pretty much pointless for us. If she ever changes her mind (I am confident she won't), we have a choice of a few decent laptops with DC power capability for DVD playback in a pinch.
The NAV on the N1 caches maps needed to complete your trip when it calculates your route. As long as you have a signal when you start out, you're good. There is also a market app for GPS that includes maps. Since I rarely use GPS except to play with it, the stock NAV in my N1 is fine for me.
Great information... but maybe this should be in Accessories?
I'm really digging both of the headunits you guys put up... I am probably just going to cheapie route and adding an inline aux jack to my factory setup. 1998 Accord EX FTW!!!!11 (I'm a law student... I can afford a phone, but not a car. )
Edit: You guys should post some pics post install.

I like it quite a bit. The controls on the head unit work without a hitch (for music and incoming calls).
The phone auto connects and it supports phone audio as well as media audio (so Music, Nav, phone all work very well).
The call clarity with the external mic is quite good from what other people tell me. I make quite a few calls on the road and never have a problem with the caller hearing me or clarity. You can answer/end from the head unit (no issues so far).
Music on the built in app works very well as well as slacker radio (the controls on the head unit work in both apps and music pauses on incoming calls).
The only downside to it is the address book integration could stand to be improved (navigating the address book). I set it up back when I had the Touch Pro but never really used it - it's easier to dial from the phone especially if it's docked than to scroll through a list.
If you transfer the contacts you get the incoming number/contact name on the display - if it's unknown it will show unknown and the number.
Let me know if you have any specific questions.
Hope that's helpful.
JVC KWAVX810 7" TOUCH SCREEN (USB, DETACHABLE FACEPLATE)
Works like a charm with my nexus one. It has a separate mic on the cord that I put on my steering wheel column, people can hear me loud and clear.
You can also pair it with audio tether option to tether music right from N1 to speakers, but I haven't tried that yet. This option never worked with my TouchPro2.

The NAV on the N1 caches maps needed to complete your trip when it calculates your route. As long as you have a signal when you start out, you're good. There is also a market app for GPS that includes maps. Since I rarely use GPS except to play with it, the stock NAV in my N1 is fine for me.

What's a cassette? Is that an 8-track?
I bought this for $160AUD, No bluetooth but it has front USB/AUX and a set of RCA outs to feed my 10" Xplod woofer nicely. The front USB works with the N1, but is somewhat hard to navigate through folders and takes a while to display track info. I wouldn't go as cheap as I did if you're looking to get a great new headunit to go with your new phone.
I am looking at
http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0...&pf_rd_t=101&pf_rd_p=470938811&pf_rd_i=507846
I usually avoid sony as they tend to be expensive for no reason, but this one is doing everyting that i need
AUX
BT (Headset and A2DP, AVRC)

not bad for the price. $150 shipped
Those are some nice low budget unit in here :-D
Im still using my Pioneer D3 with Pioneer CD BTB200 Bluetooth since my G1 and its perfect...i can use Google Nav(for traffic and updated maps) and Stream Pandora with it no problem
Dual XHD6425 and bluetooth addon module
The head unit was purchased from Crutchfield for about $50 after rebates (HD radio promo) and the bluetooth addon was another $45 from Amazon. The unit has USB input (charges as well) and a 3.5 mm AUX jack. It also recieves HD radio as well. Has AVRCP support and controls the N1 really well.
I went with a JVC KD-R800 for my daily driver:
It can read the Nexus' phonebook, display received/dialed/missed calls, make and take calls on the car's speakers, stream Pandora, mp3's, heck, even system sounds play over the car's speakers. Google navigation pauses the music and talks, then resumes playing music. It auto connects when I get back in the car, and I just hit the silver dial to begin playing again. It can also skip ahead or back on mp3's and forward on Pandora.
It is capable of matching just about any OEM dash lighting, and does a great job of matching the ancient faded green in my 1990 Jetta at night. During the day I have it set to red.
Oh, and it's got a CD/mp3/wma player and radio. But I never use them!
All in all, lots of features, and I'm more than happy with it, especially for USD 155 from Amazon.
I needed to get an AUX adapter for my car and came across this package from GROM Audio, that has lots of options, and some additional support for Android and GS/GSII phones:

It has ports for USB to hook up thumb drives, ipod/iphone cable, blutooth dongle for blutooth playback, Mini Din to 3.5mm cable to connect any MP3/Audio player via headphone jack. Granted, that one is made for my model/year vehicle, but they have wide range of products for different makes/models.
Additionally, in the description they have a section called Samsung Galaxy S and S II play and charge which is a Mini Din to microusb cable that can be used to connect to the Skyrocket and charge the phone as well as playback through the microUSB, with head unit and steering wheel control integration.

I ordered it a few days ago and it came in the mail yesterday. I'll probably have to wait until the weekend before I can install it. I also received an email from them yesterday about an upcoming announcement regarding additional Android support :

April 4th: Android Support!
Dear Android users - stay tuned to our announcement on April 4th! We will start beta-testing for our groundbreaking Android integration. Those who have USB2 modules will be able to use any Android phone as an advanced media center. There is no extra hardware needed - simply install our AALinQ application from Play Store, upgrade the USB2 firmware and enjoy!

I haven't seen much of anything available yet from anyone else like this, so I though I would share.
Also, here's some more info on the Android Open Accessory Protocol for USB interaction:
http://developer.android.com/guide/topics/usb/accessory.html
http://developer.android.com/guide/topics/usb/adk.html
Any luck getting it going? I ordered and installed, but no luck with GSII cable hookup.
I have the USB GROM installed in my car. And I've been happy with it. I have it with one regular aux cable (1.5mm or something???), an USB entry and I also ordered their Bluetooth extension (sorry, I can't post links yet). It took me half a day to install the whole thing, it depends on your particular car.
In general I've been happy with it. I really don't use the USB nor the AUX entry (My sons can connect their MP3 players using the AUX or bringing their usb stick). I only connect to it through BT and it works fine. I can play the music in my phone or pandora or whatever and control everything with the steering wheel controls. Also, when you get a phone call the music stops and you can talk hands free. Completely integrated.
I donwloaded their android app this morning but I'm not planning on using it since you have to listen to your music through that app, so, I guess you don't get pandora, amazon cloud, etc. But I can see that if you don't have the BT conexion thing, it can be useful. Anyway, I'll try it out tomorrow and report back.
Cheers!
Make sure you upgrade the firmware. They released new firmware today, which requires you do stick it on a usbstick, disconnect the adapter from the harness at the back of the head unit and then plug it in to update the adapter's firmware.
I have a 2006 Acura MDX with nav and all that fancy stuff. How is the stuff on the USB drives exposed? How do you pick with song or folder you want to play and how is it displayed? I've been looking for something like this, but I'm always worried about the interface.

I sent an email to GROM this morning about whether USB Accessory mode is in fact required, and if not, what the specific requirements are (I did make sure to note that it was a Skyrocket on ICS 4.0.3 and provided some additional SoC details). Here's the response:
[email protected] said:
In order for SG1 cable to work you need special audio profile installed.
Try also this small app attached.
If you want to use in USB mode you can try AALinQ application and connect via USB cable, but you will need to update your box to the latest firmware:
http://gromaudio.com/software-usb2.html
No special support in kernel is needed.

I reuploaded the app he mentioned here. http://d-h.st/JH4
It's just a tiny app called SGS Dock Speaker. There's only one menu with two options which says
Code:
Switch external audio output when the phone is placed in the:
☑ Home Dock
☑ Car dock
I have not had an opportunity to flash the new firmware yet as that requires me to remove a few things from my car (like the plate around the shifter, DC outlet connection, storage bin in the dash below the head unit, etc) in order to get to the back of the head unit and disconnect the adapter from the harness to flash the firmware. I might get around to it today, but if not, I'll do it tomorrow.
Edit: Shot him another message for clarification on the audio profile and got a response already. He's fast.
There is a special audio profile that needs to be turned on when car dock mode is detected.
AALinQ and SGSDockSpeaker11 do that upon launching

What do you mean by exposed? Are you talking about USB as in a USB thumb drive? If so, for me I have a 6-disc CD player so you would set up 6 playlists with whatever you want and name them 1-whatever, 2-blah,...,6-stuff and then you can switch between them by just hitting the 1-6 disc buttons. Stuff like that. The display for the AUX rather than USB stick is essentially the same. It will display track names, the min/sec of the track, etc.
They have a some videos up on youtube you can check out to get a better idea of how the interface might work for you. Here's one:

I was just mentioning this in another thread and just saw your post. I guess I'll just restate what I stated there. It worked on my phone and my friend's GSII (Epic 4G Touch) on stock gingerbread, but I was never able to get it to work with any other ROM. Even with stock based ROMs like Sky ICS it wasn't working, but I haven't tested it on Sky ICS since well before the official ICS update/source was out for our phone and all we had was one or two ICS leaks (around the time I created this thread). I never got an opportunity to test it on stock ICS or Sky ICS after the official ICS release. I would assume that on stock ICS it should work. I don't know if seanz removed something from the kernel for Sky ICS that's needed for this to work or if it just wasn't present in the kernel in the ICS leaks. I think my friend finally got the Official ICS release for his Epic 4G Touch. If I have a chance, I'll see if it works on his phone on stock ICS (which I'm pretty sure it will).
dock and usb
hello, i know this is an old thread but im still hoping someone can help me. I purchased the samsung car dock for my infuse and the Grom-USB2, the grom works fine with the usb cable connected directly to the phone but id like to get it to work when the usb cable is connected to the car dock and then connected to the phone. Is this even possible?
thanks

It would entirely depend on the dock connentions and how the 4 pins for the microUSB are wired.
Good morning! Newbie here with a new android head unit with some frustrating problems! I have a 2009 Lexus GX470 and I picked up an Ekiy T900 with climate controls from Aliexpress. GX470s with navigation have limited radio options unless you do a non navigation climate control swap because the nav models have climate controls partially integrated into the factory head unit. The radio has been pretty good and is definitely a nice upgrade from the factory head unit since it has carplay and bluetooth but it still has a few issues that I'm hoping someone here can help me solve.

First:
When first turned on, I had no audio. This seems to only be related to turning the car off and on as when the car stays on and I just reboot the unit, the audio functions properly. I can’t really remember how I figured this out but there was an app labeled “Car UI.” I clicked on it first and within the app is a radio, CD player, and something else, I forget. I clicked on the CD player and hit shuffle and then I all of a sudden started getting sound. It is not specifically the "shuffle" button, just hitting random buttons in "Car UI" gives you audio. I have no idea why this occurs but I have to do it every time I turn the car on. I can only assume that somehow this triggers the car amp? I have waited several minutes without pressing anything to see if it was just a time thing…but it wasn’t. I have also pressed lots of other buttons to see if that got me audio…but it didn’t. So for some reason you have to hit the Car UI button and go from there. This has been confirmed with another Reddit user who bought one at the same time I did. There is a factory setting for the amp which I turned on but it appears to have no play in this situation.
Video attached for reference:
Car UI/Audio
Second:
So I feel like this is pretty major considering this is an Android. I cant access anything Google related. Crazy right? I cannot log into ANYTHING google. Everything crashes at "checking info." Not just dedicated apps like Youtube, Play Store, etc but also if I try to log into Gmail when accessed through the browser. I also cant log in through the head unit settings. I have tried numerous fixes online such as deleting Chrome updates and updating Webview. I have also updated the head unit.
Video for reference:
Checking Info Crash Loop video
Apparently this is a super common issue with newer FYT units? I found some update files from other manufacturers that seem to be universal. I'll give that a whirl and report back.
Third/Final:
This is more of an annoyance rather than issue. the climate controls work great and have a clean UI. That being said, there is an issue with temperature adjustment. You have a full range of temperature selection but unfortunately it will only ever read “low” or “high.” Every time you press the button it most definitely changes the temperature a degree like it should, you just don’t get a specific degree reading. I don’t know why it does this or if it is 470/prado specific as I have seen similar radios with the same UI display degree changes (at least in Celsius).
Temp Control Video
And just in case this pops up when someone searches for GX470 radios, here is my review from ih8mud.
Review: Android H/U with Climate Control
Good morning everyone! Longtime reader, first time poster. I recently acquired a 2009 gx470 with navigation. I was super excited to get one of the “Tesla” screens…until I got one and realized how horrible they were. More on that later. Bear with me as I’m writing this on my phone while I have...

Also, can I update the mcu or change the firmware/UI/ROM? I’m using Agama which is fantastic but I’d like to change the factory UI to something better.
Has anyone else experienced this audio issue? I’m open to trying anything. This is really the only thing keeping this from being a fantastic unit.

Sorry to hear the unit has a number of bugs.
Curious, what did the reseller suggest, who is the reseller and what has your experience been with them from a support/afterwards perspective?
You might also find additional information in the other FYT threads, such as joyin FYT and that other oddball teyes badged units.

They sent an update that didn't work. So i tried the update posted in another thread, possibly in the Joying fYT thread. it worked to fix the google issue at least. There is still no update on sound but I now believe it to be a canbus issue. and theres no news on the climate control. I'd love to figure out the sound issue!
It is from Ekiy Autoradio Store. It is marketed as an Ekiy brand, not just the store. They are definitely trying to help but there is a language barrier that makes everything more difficult. But I'll give them credit for trying!
Does anyone know if I can use the canbus adapter box from a different radio or is that proprietary?

Hello friends, I got my EKIY T900 and i think that is fantastic, I take the voice and 360 panorama options
I have a question, maybe you can help me whi this
I haven't installed the 360 cameras yet, but I have one of these chinese caeras as backup cam for reverse
When i put my car in reverse, the T900 triggers the 360 panorama in reverse mode but as I didn't installed that cams yet, I don't see anything
The backup camera is connected to the yellow RCA behind the unit for this purpose.
I'd like to know "how to" deactivate the 360 view system to let the unit start the standard aux video application when in reverse
Can you help me with this ?, I mean deactivate the 360panorama software ?
Thanks in advance !

REAR CAMERA: BROWN wire called "Back" should be connected to PIN 6
STEERING WHEEL: PINK wire called KEY1 should be connected to PIN 16
STEERING WHEEL GND: Should be connected together with BLACK wire from PIN 14 to PIN 13
For the rear camera you have to take the +12v power directly from the rear light bulb.

I have a problem with my Ekiy T900 at standby: when ignited and engine off, the device switches off after approx. 30 sec. Is there a setting?
And another problem: The USB device will be scheduled sporadically on / off, so that playing music or movies finds a ugly end. The USB device setting is 2.0 (there are only 1.0 and 2.0).
